Jegheter: Bro rules of ehailing app? Which rules bro? These apps don't even obey their own rules. Bolt doesn't treat Nigerian drivers d same way dey treat European drivers.
AC is a must for me but if it's not working sudnt d driver still work? So if car no get AC make em no work with the rubbish prices out dere? If ur AC is working better but if not that d rider business ooo unless it's Uber, or comfort. I mean y would d app company have a category called COMFORT meaning dey know rides are in different categories of comfortability
Abeg make we leave matter for Mathias. It's good you know AC is a must. If your AC doesn't work you calmly explain to your rider and they'll decide either to go or not. It's that simple. |
Business › Re: If You Are Uber Partner In Lagos, Please Share Your Experience Here by sconp: 11:51am On Oct 30, 2025 |
Nelochukwu: No his entitled to being driven to his destination. AC is comfort not a necessity to completing the trip however, categories like bolt comfort or indrive comfort requires you to on the AC cause the fares are significantly more expensive.
Iz worse wen a rider doesn't even respond to ur greeting and the first things is HOPE UR AC IS WORKING? It always pisses me off. Once u don start convo with me like that then u don fail exam ooo. Guaranteed I won't carry cause even my response d rider go know say I don vex
Then off course for the Uber app the AC remains on always cause Uber pays u very well bro weather traffic dey or not. Infact if u encounter traffic on Uber no panic. Just dey smile and watch what ur Lord can do wen u end d trip. Na u go pity rider
I hope u understand my position Lol. Every rider in whatever category is entitled to AC while the ride is on. This is well enshrined in the rules of these ehailing apps except the rider states otherwise. By switching on the AC, you're not doing the rider a favour, that service is paid for. You can make a case for better fares, you can choose to accept or decline trips based on the manner of approach, that's totally within your prerogative. |

Nelochukwu: This the best way bro. Until u establish contact even sometimes sef the manner of message will still not make me move an inch. Just cancel. I hate that question even after I greet u "Hope ur car has ac" no replying my greeting no courtesy how much r u paying dat u r hoping if it don't have nko?
I always on my AC but I hate d entitlement. I once asked one that is it excursion she's going for that she's crying that I don't have ac. AC wey na me on am as we drive but traffic much I wan off am u come dey rant say why I dey off am? Isn't the rider entitled to this by virtue of booking a ride? |

Having read all you've written, there's only one way out of this. You both need to go separate ways.
You also need to go separate ways quickly else you'll go crazy. Should you refuse to separate, he'll separate from you after a while because by then he'll not be able to deal with your madness anytime and that might be the final straw that tears you apart.

Mcslize: Good choice if you ask me! The competition in Civil Engineering is so fierce. I was shocked when I saw the numbers of applicants running into thousands of EOIs. My occupation is learning where civil Engineering is in terms of competition.
You will get invite at the speed of light with Construction Project manager if you can get a positive assessment. You won't stay long in the queue.
Of course you can change skill assessment after lodging EOI. Just make sure you withdraw the previous EOI once you get an invite for the construction project manager to give chance to other people when submitting your new one. How were you able to check this? I would like to check for a particular profession |

GloriousGbola: actually a lot of the nigerian run oil and gas companies are not unionised. since dangote started his refinery he has been chasing validation in the court of public opinion and putting all his business in the public space
i guess he thought he he could pull a mike adenuga where business illiterate people will celebrate him as an altruistic billionaire who makes his choices for the benefit of nigerians while fighting entrenched cabals
if he had not been hogging every news cycle for the past 12 months - this would have passed under the radar
maybe now an energized pengassan will go after the other naija companies who have refused to allow their staff to unionise This is what PENGASSAN really needs to do, there's too many of them. Dangote was just trying to repeat their MO. |

Charisdesigns: Yes, you are correct with the assertion that we still have standard reinforcement bars. But you will agree with me that it’s not everybody that are using or can accord that.
I will not want to go into the technical part of this but here’s what I will recommend and what we have implemented in time past.
Foundation mat =>12mm Chain beam => 16mm Columns => 16mm Stirrup => 10mm Main beam => 16mm Slab => 12mm So, you can't afford requisite 12mm bars that can give yield strengths even higher then 500N/mm2 but you can afford local 16mm bars which would be costlier than the 12mm but whose yield strength you'd be in doubt of? Isn't this penny-wise, pounds foolish? Also, I'd like you to go into the technical part of it so can I design completely the structural components and show the columns adequately sufficient to carry the load of even a Ford truck comfortably. Bear in mind, there's nothing wrong with over-designing (aside the cost). Someone else might even choose to use 20mm bars for the columns. I am just correcting the impression that 12mm bars are insufficient for a column. |

Charisdesigns: No please Going by the strength of material we have in market now, 16mm should be the least bar size to be considered. I disagree still. Standard reinforcement bars that meet the requisite yield strength, diameter and elongation are also available in the open market, just pricier. While I understand over-engineering the design, blanket statements like the one stated by the OP using the word must isn't always the case. |

Skydivine: Very true. 16mm rod must be used inside as pillars, then chained half way and the slab probably reinforced with another 16 mm. But of course 16 mm is expensive , so people won’t do it that way, then it collapses. While I understand why you stated this, it is not a must that 16mm is used. 12mm reinforcement bars would serve just fine. |

Chichilas: Thank you. We are at the second deck now so would be pretty difficult to change anything.
My engineer is actually saying we should go ahead and that we do not need to change anything. He's your structural engineer and since he says to go ahead then I think that should allay your fears except if you need another person to take a look at it |
Properties › Re: General Topic Thread-To Discuss Anything And Everything in Building Construction by sconp: 2:37pm On Apr 27, 2024 |
Chichilas: Good afternoon everyone.
I would like to seek opinions from esteemed members and building experts here.
I am currently building a 2 storey(3 floor) house with about 40 pillars: The structural design stated 16mm rods for pillar reinforcement and we are adhering to it.
However, I have decided to change the roof design from an aluminum roof to a concrete slab(deck) roof for asthetics purposes and most importantly because I want to fill the entire roof with solar panels and we want to be able to move around it easily and clean them regularly.
Now my question is, do I need to add extra reinforcements for the structure to be able to take the roof slab? My structural engineer says a 4 inch roof slab will suffice and I do not need to add extra reinforcements. I am wondering if we should have just used 20mm rods for the pillars from the beginning. Does anyone have an idea if the 16mm pillars will suffice to carry the additional load?
I appreciate and anticipate all responses. Since you have a structural engineer, ask that he re-run the design and analysis to ensure it works, have him give you another drawing detailing the roof slab. Also, you seem perturbed by the diameter of the steel reinforcement bars but the dimensions of the columns also plays a part. |
