Christianity EtcHow God Works by sCross(op): 9:48am On Sep 03, 2014
Since God can do any and everything, he could have made the Israelites fly over the red sea. It wouldn’t have been too hard for Him. Jer 32:27
27 “Behold, I am the Lord, the God of all flesh. Is anything too hard for me?
(ESV)

He could have sent an angel to smite Goliath or better yet just send a little bolt of lightning to meet Him.
He could have crushed the walls of Jericho without the Israelites moving a muscle.
He could have Joseph the prime minister of Egypt in one day without him having to go to prison. He could have influenced Pharoah to appoint Joseph without Joseph having to go through the prison. He could have appeared to him and said; appoint Joseph or DIE! after all He is God, who can question his modus operandi? You? Me?

I’ve observed most of God’s wonders involve us, our actions, our skills, our attitudes.

Moses used the rod in his hands (as instructed by God) to split the red sea.
David used the stones in his bag to take down Goliath.
Joseph maintained a great attitude, decided not to compromise and served to the best of his ability.
Elisha parted the sea with a rod.

What God is going to use to perform great wonders in your life is already in your possession.

What do you have in your hands? Use it

Whether you like it or not, words are extremely powerful and they can easily build or wreck havoc.

Below are a few sentences that are notoriously known for manipulating men. You tell them any of these and they throw logic out the window and do your bidding.

They are;

1. Be a man
2. You're not even man enough
3. I thought you were a real man

What do you think ?
Wanna add other lines you've heard?

How wild can your imagination go? This wild? “Jkdfsjujhvsidssvdd” or maybe this wild “,$:;$:3:+%-7$,:%(:-%(;7″.
Whichever way, what you're about to read will undoubtedly stretch it just a little bit more.

Now imagine you received an alert for a deposit made into your account. It reads something like ” You have just been credited with 1,000,000,000,000,000 (1 million billion)”. You think to yourself that the scammers are at it again and within the next 3 minutes a man calls you and greets you so respectfully that you think he’s got the wrong number. He identifies himself as your bank manager and gives you infallible proof. What would you do? What would be your most predominant thought? I bet with you that your predominant thought would be about the enormity of that money and its ability to wipe away all your financial issues.
*****†******************************************************************

Now pick up your bible. Take a closer look at it again. Do you know that your Bible as small as it is, is worth more than (1 million billion)? Do you also know that the bible has truth that can solve ALL your financial issues and even non financial?
So many promises, so many blessings, peace of mind, exceedingly great reward are all embedded in that book.

Be reminded that God’s word is ever powerful and cannot be outdated. Don’t allow activities and events crowd your mind so much so that you don’t meditate on these promises.

Remember treasure buried or unused is useless. Your bible is useless if you don’t dig up the treasures and utilize them.

“Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom”- Colossians 3:16

Intermittently, I read books on relationships and marriage. I’d like to share with you some lessons I picked from Gary Chapman’s book “Things I wish I knew before I got married.”

Toilets are not self cleaning

I’m not just marrying only my spouse but i’m marrying into a family

There’s a need to plan for our money

The love experience is not an adequate foundation for marriage

Apologizing is a sign of strength

Mutual sexual satisfaction doesn’t just happen.

Spirituality is not about going to church

Personality profoundly influences behavior

The saying “Like mother like daughter and like father like son” are not myths

It’s possible to solve disagreements without arguing

Romantic love has two stages; Tingly feeling and Intentional Feeling. Couples must be willing to build the intentional feeling stage if they want a lasting relationship.

There you have it! What do you think?

Nobody who has diamonds would put it on
display outside their homes or on the floor
carelessly. If you had a stash of money,
you’ll most likely hide it somewhere safe or
unexpected. If you have something you
value, you protect it. You protect it with almost everything in you.

Having known all the above are facts, I
wonder why we expect life to act otherwise.
I wonder why we expect that we can get the
best out of life by making little to no effort.

Life has great treasures and great things in
its bosom. Even though it doesn’t consume
them, those treasures are heavily guarded
with “steel doors” and guards who make
Dwayne Johnson look like a midget. Those
guards are called Obstacles.

If you want anything great, you must face
and defeat these obstacles. Stop thinking
life would get careless. You would not see a million dollars on the
ground one morning while taking a stroll.
Even if you do, it was misplaced. RETURN IT!

It’s important to understand that obstacles
are inevitable. Prepare for them; prepare to
jump over, dig under, go around or blow
them up.

Let me also add that sometimes the greater
the obstacle, the greater the treasure. Don’t
remain discouraged.

“Those who set goals run circles round
those who don’t”

Since I believe solely in the stated truth
above, I decided to set a goal in this temple-
run look alike game; AE kalpana Incas lost
City (crazy right? lol).
My goal was to get 3,000 coins within the next 5 plays. I was doing an average of 500 coins and I wanted to get more to be able to buy some perks.

On first trial, I got about 300 coins. My
second trial was quite “encouraging”; I got
140 coins. The next time I tried I got under
100 coins. Now pressure was already
building up on me. Remember I had set the 3000 coin goal. I had 2 more chances and I
was going to have a go at it. I just decided not to give up.

On my fourth trial, it happened. I got about 3,400 coins in one play. I beat my previous record. Goal setting cannot be overemphasized.

Don’t be afraid to set goals; I know you’re
afraid of failing. Don’t be. Failure is only a
process and if you keep at it. Success is soon
to follow.
Set Goals. What’s the worst that could
happen?

Went for a church programme when suddenly everyone started running outside and they were all screaming and singing. It was 2pm and I couldn't believe that I had my eyes fixed to the sun for 45minutes while it was dancing and changing colors.
I thought it was a dream too but the dream never came to an end. That night I couldn't sleep because it was my first time experiencing such. As I went to bed, our lady visited me still.... Gosh.

RomanceMyths About Relationships And Marriage Part 1 by sCross(op): 6:02am On Jul 30, 2014
You're not about to read a sermon, just succinct points.

Myth 1 You're incomplete if you're single.
Truth - God made you and he doesn't do things in bits. He always finishes. If single = incomplete, it means Jesus et al were incomplete.

Myth 2- A man must be the sole provider of the home.
Truth- A man should provide but if he's broke, the woman should be willing to provide if she can without making a big deal about it. Please don't quote 1Tim 5:8. Read the chapter first

Myth 3- A woman's place is in the kitchen and for menial chores
Truth- A woman was created for more than just menial chores. Women have intuitive ability which most men lack. Logical ability (Men's Forte) and Intuition (Women's forte) when combined have greater reach

Myth 4- Being submissive is equivalent to staying in an abusive relationship.
Truth- Being submissive is simply acknowledging a leader and following however it doesn't mean you should continuously remain in an abusive relationship. The first thing is to talk it out and go for counselling. If all else fails, you should take time off from each other.

Myth 5- You have to get married to be fulfilled.
Truth- You don't have to. Marriage is not compulsory. It's not written anywhere that a man/woman must marry to fulfill purpose. Also Jesus and others never got married and yet they fulfilled purpose. Don't let society force you into something you're not ready for or don't want.

If a lady remains a virgin due to choice and not lack of opportunity, i consider it a commendable feat.

Yes, being a virgin doesn't guarantee a happy home but it is a step in the right direction. And Ofcourse being a virgin doesn't guarantee she'd make a good wife.

Research has shown that People who can delay gratification tend to do better than those who don't.
