This is why Jonathan is a very foolish man, or perhaps he was distracted for long by Boko haram.
However, if Yorubas think they can continue to work against the economic progress of other regions by making sure only the Lagos ports work, they should be ready to continue contending for the ownership of Lagos with others and also suffer the effects of overpopulation and the strain on Lagos inftastructures. You can't have your cake and still eat it. |

How many times did u find obj use that line as a defence against critics? How many times did obj come out to say the north was against him?
If GMB starts using 'expected SS hostility' to him as an excuse to under perform, he'll simply sound the death knell on his presidency because a leader should find a way to succeed not look for excuses to explain away failure.
Thank God GMB isn't known for avoiding responsibility. How many times have you heard him avoid taking responsibility for all his past actions? Even when you guys painted him as a devil? This does not in any way address any of the points I raised. |

I didn't say Gbawe's posts I dug up proved that he didn't support GEH after he won, I was just amazed at how rightly he predicted the turn out of events and at the same time wondering why he suddenly abandoned his own prophecies. Gbawe boldly and correctly predicted in 2011 that GEJ's government will be sabotaged by the north through various means, but if you dare suggest that even in 2013 (just 2 years after the prediction) Gbawe will be the first to shout you down. How often do you see a prophet disown his won prophecy just when it begins to manifest? What could have been the reason for that? He wrote something that struck me greatly.. We saw how many in the North maintained a "damned if you do damned if you don't " relationship with OBJ . It is likely to be worse for GEJ Isn't that exactly how it turned out? GEJ fights boko haram, he is termed anti-north by Buhari, accused of genocide by Nyako and dragged to ICC by northern elders for human rights abuse. GEJ pampers boko haram, he is called weak and clueless by the same people. This is what Gbawe rightly predicted, but if you dare suggest it today he will be the first to vehemently shout you down. Doesn't anyone else find it strange? |

Gbawe: Please what "hypocrisy" are you talking about? Even these posts you dug up shows I was entirely honest when I say I got behind GEJ and wished him well. I even gave my own little contribution as per what I felt GEJ must do, given that he had offended so many and needed to get Nigerians on his side. Go on confess to us whether GEJ led Nigeria for ordinary Nigerians or if he made his Presidency about abetting the "born to rule " elements from the North in his own Party who vowed to make life difficult for him. Amosun has just shown that if you get the ordinary man behind you then you stand a chance of overcoming. I am glad you dug these posts up so Nairalanders can see I predicted it would not be easy for GEJ yet suggested precisely what I felt he shoud do to succeed. Non of which GEJ did to the point I can now say "the rest is history". The hypocrisy is that you no longer believe in the existence of ''born to rule'', you will not agree that the north sabotaged GEJ's govt anymore, since your people are now in alliance with them.. |
Politics › Re: Why Are Some Jonathan Fans Still Hating?? by sCun: 10:54pm On Apr 16, 2015 |
April 19 2011The Gbawe guy out of hypocrisy will not agree with this today, but he was damn right. Gbawe: Let us not speak out of idealism alone. Southerners in the North should be very careful. This is only the beginning in my opinion. Unrest will carry on throughout GEJ's tenure . I can't forget all that was done to sabotage OBJ's Presidency even when it was legitimately accepted that it was the turn of the SW. Talks of impeachment were constant. We saw one violent crisis after another all , IMO, aimed at frustrating OBJ . The whole Sharia thing , in a secular Nation, was a ruse to deliberately cause problems for Southerners and , by extension , OBJ . Yerima , the champion of Sharia, is as corrupt as they come and a paedophile to boot . Every small event was deliberately blown out of proportion. Beauty contest coming to Nigeria was an opportunity for radicals to kill Christians. Danish caricature of Mohammed was the green light for the killings of Christians in the North when the original event had nothing to do with any Nigerian.
I am just really apprehensive for what is ahead . The influential radicals in the North will never stop painting GEJ as a "usurper". Folks like Atiku blatantly threatened violence now he comes out to pretend he condemns it . There will be a lot of treachery from the North against GEJ's Government . Folks will never stop trying to make life difficult for him.
My advice to GEJ is that he must ditch his "all things to all men" style . He must refrain from trying to pacify everyone with important and influential office to recognise that it is strong men in strong institutions who can make his Presidency a success . Men like Col. Umar should be brought in while the likes of Anenih must go . Interestingly , Umar, so far, is the only prominent Northerner who has come out to praise the election and appeal for calm.
GEJ must embrace merit as his employment mantra. Do what is right and everyone will get behind him quickly against the troublemakers and "born to rule" agitators . Lead for Nigerians and no one else . We saw how many in the North maintained a "damned if you do damned if you don't " relationship with OBJ . It is likely to be worse for GEJ . He cannot pacify folks , as he has done so far in the past , for 4 years . that will mean nothing is achieved. It was extremely disappointing to see GEJ , after brave men took to the street for him , returning to the status quo with how he deployed mediocrity everywhere . Femi Falana , for example , did everything . He marched he sued he talked and he shouted . I will watch GEJ's appointment after May . If I don't see someone like Umar as head of EFCC or Femi Falana as AGF/Minister of justice then I know we are in for more "business as usual" leadership. I suspect that is all GEJ is capable of but I will be happy to be proven wrong.

I just took a look at some of these guys previous posts to see their reactions prior to and after the 2011 elections. I found some prophecies! April 15 2011Gbawe: Some of you are very childish with how you think that those of us who speak here are motivated by anything other than the desire for Nigeria to gain good leadership . It is the average Nigerian , wallowing in abject poverty with all dignity eroded , that I pity. As long as I have human compassion for those who are victims of misrule then I will always be here even if I know that the very folks I agonize over are the same ones , through lack of political sophistication, who may have doomed themselves to further suffering . That is democracy . We should respect it and commit to strengthening it.
In any case , for GEJ fans , if he wins , you will soon see how unpopular GEJ will become . We forget that , among sophisticated voters typified by Nairaland and other forum , Jonathan's approval rating plummeted drastically because of how poorly GEJ performed in the face of serious challenges. Anyone who thinks those challenges will disappear after tomorrow is naive at best .
GEJ , IMO , has accepted a 'poisoned chalice'. I make bold to say that , if Jonathan wins, the next effort by the "born to rule" clan we all despise will be incessant acts of sabotage (not necessarily limited to violence) to jeopardize GEJ's Presidency so that he either leaves early or is in unanimously despised by all Nigerians come 2015. Those who want GEJ out will have been encouraged by his weak style , in the face of crisis ( both political and physical) aimed at appeasing everyone . "Divine" emergence that is not matched by integrity , utmost bravery and unflinching political will can only get you so far before people begin to see through you . We enter an unpredictable dawn from tomorrow . I was gracious enough to wait patiently to be proven right about Yar Adua . I am certain GEJ is another Yar Adua or worse. If he gains another 4 years , then I hope , for the sake of the suffering masses , I am wrong about him. Nothing is personal for me . It is all about the progress and greatness of Nigeria. I know the OP out of hypocrisy wouldn't agree with the bold part today, but men, how true did that turn out? |
