In my last post, a reader wrote in to tell his story. If you missed it read it here. It's a sad story actually and he's not alone in that kind of situation. Life in UK can be tricky.
Only the strong will not be lured into temptation, especially, if you are still struggling. It doesn't have to be adultery, it can be fraud, accessory to fraud and so on. In this post, I want to talk about those people who leave their spouse to travel abroad alone. Please, don't get me wrong, UK is a great country.

I do not intend to discourage anybody from coming over. Neither am I painting anybody black. I'm just pointing out the truth. It does not mean it's applicable to only women.

If you are sending your wife or your husband to the UK, please let there be a solid arrangement on ground, regarding when and how you are coming to join her, same goes for men.
If she's coming to the UK for a definite period of time, then it's OK. The bible says we should flee from temptation. So think twice before sending your spouse to the UK.

While reading his mail, I just wondered why a woman would cheat and abandon her marriage just like that. I maintain, it's not a must you live in UK.
It takes the grace of The Lord to maintain and remain, in light of the evils this environment has to offer. Going by the mail, I came up with possible 5 reasons the woman left her husband.


1) Resident Permit
You can't begin to imagine what people do to get papers in this country. If your wife or husband comes into the UK alone to hustle, it's never the advisable thing to do. I do not say this to stereotype or anything of such. It simply how it usually happens. It's never the intention of such spouses to cheat.

To be honest with you, in this country, without papers, you'll be stuck in the rock bottom of life, going from one cleaning job to the other with crappy pay and disrespect. As a result people make all kinds of moves to get sorted, immigration wise.

As you know, that could mean anything. People will do anything to get papers. Few people will live a few years in the UK and still wanna go back, especially for those who have nothing substantial to go back to. Because of this and other salient factors, they will indulge in anything to get their stay in the UK.

2) Boredom
If you have ever been to the UK, you'll know how boring it is for most people. It's a routine : home - work - home. This is due to various factors like work shift patterns. It's not like Nigeria where majority are on 8-4 shifts.
It makes it difficult to really socialise. You can imagine someone who is struggling, she would work every shift available because anything can happen the next minute.

Besides, socialising sometimes costs money. Imagine a lady who hasn't done anything social in 3 months being asked out by a guy, what you think the answer would be. 'YES' of course. It's only human as we have feelings. The more you do something, the more confident you get. What do you think would happen after a couple of dates with the married lady? Your guess is as good as mine.



3) Finance
Many studies prove this, UK is one of the most overpriced countries in the world. Everything is expensive. You pay for everything.
Truth is, in most cases, the salary isn't enough. If you find someone who's willing to pick certain bills for you, what will you do? As a woman, such requests come at a cost. Nothing goes for nothing, they say. For the so called 'London big boys' no amount is too much to spend on a woman.
This isn't a country where people give you money. Some people will stop picking your calls because of £5.
Trust me, if she asks few of her friends, 80% of them will advise her to go for the money man. It's just the way it is.

4) Weather
Of course we're familiar with the general believe that sexual urge is usually heightened during winter. There's a limit to what we can endure.

Sleeping alone during winter, year after year can be very tempting. Studies show sexual urge tend to be low during winter, wherever they get that from.

In the UK, people don't want to go out unless when it is absolutely necessary. When you are home and lonely, what happens? You long for the company of the opposite sex and that's how it starts.

5) Unemployment
This so much relates to the third point. Obviously, without a job, your finance is in ruins. People do everything to get a job in the UK, especially if you are not documented. Believe me, Africans
are the same everywhere.

They wanna sleep with you before giving you jobs. Once they know your story, as a woman, you are done for. What they do is collect money from men and want to sleep with ladies. I know of a situation where the manager offered to have sex with the lady on a bus she was cleaning. It is that deplorable.
No doubt, we still have great men of integrity in the Nigerian community in the UK. It's only the number that's few. UK isn't a country where you can comfortably say someone has got your back. You carry your cross in this country.

You're gonna have to be able to pay your rent and other bills on your own. As a good person, you have to be working to do that. What happens to a woman who doesn't have a job?

It all happened in 2003, when my wife came home one day saying her uncle in the UK is willing to take her along to the UK.

Maybe I should share a little history. My wife and I met in our final university year. It wasn't love at first sight but definitely something akin to it.

We fell head over heels in love with each other and before that year 1999 ran out, we were engaged.

We got married the following year, despite my not having any stable job ( that's proving to be a stupid move now) and she was some petty cashier somewhere. Our financial difficulties became serious, that we started piling up debts upon debts.

In light of this, we reached an agreement not to have a child until one of us gets a clean job. It seemed a good idea at a time, unfortunately, it didn't pan out, because she fell pregnant early 2001. She used all the available contraception, so, I don't know how that happened, till tomorrow.

I received the news with mixed feelings. Of course, who wouldn't be happy that he's gonna have a baby. Though, when I thought of the cost implications, I felt otherwise.
Our baby was getting close to a year old when she brought the news about her uncle helping her with a UK visa.

I did not like the idea, going by different stories I hear about the situation over there. Besides, who's gonna take care of our son? You know what they say about the beggar who can't be a chooser. What other choice did I have?

If that's a way out, them why not. So I agreed. That's how my wife left me for the UK. She entered the UK with a six months visa. I knew it wasn't going to be easy, but I had hope, because her uncle was there.

The first few years were good. I must confess, it was a new lease of life. At least I could eat properly and feed our son. I could start something with my life as well. At the same time, it was the most difficult period of my life and that's because I missed my wife so much.

Since we got married, we had never spent two whole days apart, until she traveled. It was like my life was cut short. It was like I was alone in this world. Most nights, I would wet my pillow with tears. I never knew I hadn't seen anything yet.

A young man of 18 was coming to the UK for the very first time, to study. He had no family nor friends in the country. That was the very first time he would travel out of his home country. To him, it's like going into the unknown.


When he got here, it was hard for him. He came during winter. He had no jacket. He had no winter boots. He went to go get accommodation in the most expensive part of London. He made several mistakes, after everything, he became broke and frustrated....


This story is similar to what hundreds of students and UK first timers experience. Many people travel to the UK without any knowledge at all of the country.

Again, I heard a guy on the train lamenting the recent changes to UK immigrations laws, particularly, students. He is probably a rookie.

He was busy fuming about how to pay his fees and survive on just 20 hrs a week. I empathise with the guy, to be honest. People on full 40 hrs a week complain, let alone someone on just 20 hrs.

The guy was complaining to his friend, asking him how the government expects him to survive.

Anyways, these things happen. The problem is that some people do not have adequate knowledge about how this country (UK) operates. I just felt I should say a thing or two regarding the cost of living and UK lifestyle (focusing on London).

With a rough idea like this, newbies can be better prepared and know what they are getting into.

Well, for the benefit of those who do not know....As a student, you can only do part time job up to 20 hours a week in term-time (for Tier 4 visas issued to study at degree level or above), and full time during vacations (for a course below Bachelors degree level, you will only be able to work up to 10 hours per week in term time).

University fees range from between £10,000 and £17,300 with these figures, nobody can survive on 20 hrs of work, unless your dad is millionaire. Well, if you are not a rich kid like the writer, you have to be careful and consider the points given below.

Below are about five factors, among others, you should consider be before getting on that plane to the UK.


1) Come with your personal stuff.

I came into the UK during summer. I was told to get just T shirts, jeans and trainers. Stupid me, I gave away all my shirts, trousers and shoes, only to go get some T shirts and all. It's OK.....You can say it, I was an idiot and I paid dearly for that singular stupid act of foolishness.

So please, come with your phones, cloths, shoes and almost all your personal effects. You are gonna seriously need them.

Then please buy a jacket immediately you get here, or you bring one from your home country. Find out from your friends and family or check the internet for the current weather so you know what the weather is like in the UK at the time of your arrival.

An investigating magistrate today ruled that the 27-year-old must stand trial over three counts of tax evasion alongside his father Jorge Messi, who is his agent, over the alleged offences between 2007 and 2009.

Prosecutors had agreed to drop the charges after Messi’s father paid the court £3.9m in a bid to settle the dispute with the Spanish taxman and agreed that he was in charge of the finances and said only he should stand trial.

But the Spanish Treasury refused to drop the case and a magistrate sitting in Gava, just outside Barcelona, ordered the footballer to also stand trial.The four-time Fifa World Footballer of the Year is accused of failing to pay tax on earnings from image rights.
The magistrate ruled that it is possible Messi “may have known about and consented to the evasion of tax.”

And he said the footballer must stand trial “if there are indications that Lionel Messi may have known and consented to the evasion.”

The judge said “it is not necessary for someone to have complete knowledge of all the accounting and business operations” to be accused of tax evasion.

The wife of former “American Idol” judge Randy Jackson has filed for divorce after nearly 19 years of marriage.

Erika Jackson filed for divorce Friday in Los Angeles, citing irreconcilable differences.

The pair was married in December 1995, and she listed their separation date as Sept. 11. They have two children together, and Erika Jackson is seeking physical custody and spousal support. Their youngest child is age 17.

Erika Jackson is asking to restore her name to Erika Riker.

One Russian woman has given the Arab young men a run for their money – by parking her crystal-encrusted Mercedes outside an exclusive hotel for the world to see.

One Nigerian military intelligence source has told SaharaReporters that the top Boko Haram figure killed in a recent operation was one Bashir Mohammed, leader of the Islamist sect’s Uye camp.

KTVA reporter Charlo Greene quit her job on live TV last night, outing herself as the owner of an Alaskan cannabis club and declaring “f*ck it”.

Having grown weary of reporting the news, Green told viewers she would instead be putting all her energy into the fight to legalise marijuana in the state, having previously reported on the Alaska Cannabis Club without mentioning her connection to it.

Lewis Hamilton chalked up win number 29 of his Formula One career to finally regain the lead of this year’s world title fight after Nico Rosberg suffered only his second retirement of the season.

Rosberg’s Mercedes encountered an electronics issue before the start of the Singapore Grand Prix and he was ultimately forced out of the race after 14 laps.

According to accounts for the year ending May 31, 2014 were published on Friday by Arsenal and revealed that the annual wage bill had increased to £166.4 million, while revenues exceeded £300 million for the first time in the club’s history.

This summer’s transfer activity, however, is not included in the accounts and the net increase to the wage bill following the arrivals of Alexis Sanchez, Danny Welbeck, Mathieu Debuchy, David Ospina and Calum Chambers is around £25 million. That would put the wage bill for this current 2014-15 season at just over £190 million.

A South African rescue team has flown to Nigeria to help locate missing South Africans believed to have been inside a church hostel when it collapsed last week in Lagos.

The team will be able to sign death certificates and check that survivors are getting adequate treatment. Of the 80 confirmed deaths, at least 67 were from South Africa.

According to Toyin Ayinde, Lagos State commissioner for town planning and urban development, said an investigation would examine Joshua’s claim that a low-flying plane may have been responsible for the collapse.

The controversy over alleged sponsors of Boko Haram took a twist yesterday when Nobel Laureate Wole Soyinka said information about a suspected financier of the terror group within the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) was passed to President Goodluck Jonathan.

Soyinka also said he worked “in the background” with Australian negotiator Stephen Davis during the Niger Delta militancy crisis, and warned against dismissing his claims on those allegedly sponsoring Boko Haram.

The Nobel Laureate spoke on a day a source familiar with Boko Haram revealed that some of the school girls captured by the Islamist group in Chibok, Borno State, in April, might have been raped to death.

In a statement by Soyinka titled, The wages of impunity, he was appalled by government’s treatment of people linked with the Islamist group with kid gloves.

Would suing do any justice in Africa?

A 16-year old boy in St-Louis, Missouri, has dragged his parents to court, in one of the most controversial lawsuits in history. Jamal Fox Freeman is suing his own biological parents for being born white. The teenager with caucasian traits and born of African-american parents claims he has suffered his whole life from the fact of being a white kid raised in a mostly black community.

The teenager, as a kid, would try washing off his white skin, thinking it would wash off.

He said, “When I was a kid, I’d spend hours in the shower trying to wash off the white off my skin, but it would never go away. I’ve been called names such as cracker, pig skinned and pink my entire life. I’ve been called a bastard so many times I can’t remember and people in the community have been blaming me for slavery as long as I can recall”

A 42 year woman, Tatiana Williams, has spent over £60,000 on surgeries that happened to be illegal and has had over 100 black-market injections into her cheeks. Despite seeing most of her friends dead, she still went ahead with the illegal surgeries.

Hollywood star, George Clooney will get married to his fiancee Amal Alamuddin tomorrow. The couple will be at a registry in West London. It will be attended by close friends and family. The real deal will be Venice, Italy. it will be bigger and more glamorous. Sources believe the Venice party will cater to the Hollywood aspect of the wedding. He dropped the bombshell that “in a couple of weeks” he would wed human rights lawyer Amal, 36, only a few days ago. Previously it was thought they would marry in Lake Como in northern Italy, where Clooney, 53, has a £28million home.

This dog belonging to a retired Russian army dog trainer who is now a farmer has trained his dog, he can save the money he could have used to employ another hand. 47 year old Alexander Matitsyn, bought the dog, Lemon, to see what he could for him on the farm. His words: “I made him carry the bucket to get water from the yard because we aren’t on a mains water supply here. “Before long he was carrying the bucket himself, hooking it on the pump and then standing on the lever so that the water comes out and then bringing the bucket back without spilling it.” See more amazing pictures...

An 18 year old man was attacked by his flatmate on the head, with claw hammer, for being gay. Connor Huntley, a gay man, sustained terrible head injuries during the attack fot an offense of being gay. Connor was attacked at her home in Margate, Kent, in her sleep.The attacker, Joseph William, a catholic, has been sentenced to 14 years in prison. The teenager managed to survive despite suffering ‘life changing’ injuries. -

It’s great news coming from the British royal family again as it is announced that Kate and William are expecting their second child together, according to CBS News.
“Their Royal Highnesses The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are very pleased to announce that The Duchess of Cambridge is expecting their second child,” said a statement released Monday by Clarence House, the official residence of the Duke and Duchess.
Though it is not revealed in the statement, how long gone Kate is, but noted that she was being treated by doctors for acute morning sickness.
We all can remember that she was treated for the same during the early stages of her pregnancy with Prince George, who turned one in July.
Kate and William’s second child would be 4th in line to the throne, but as the so-called “spare to heir,” he or she would not be expected to ever take the thrown.
