The OP was trying to create a different scenario by saying 300 igbo soldiers were killed in the counter coup.. meanwhile other tribes also lost men during the coup..

Are you aware that the case will get to the supreme court? and no matter how fast the court court process would go, we are looking at 2-3 years.
The case of the Deputy Governor can still be drag to the supreme court if not for the end of Obaseki's tenure.

Unfortunately this has been the modus operandi of the governors, once a new administration starts at the state level they will use the state house of assembly to remove the LGA chairmen.
Even if those affected in Edo head to court, by the time the case will be done with, their tenure will be over.
