SIRTee15:

Let's go back to the beginning and learn God's original purpose for marrigae....

Genesis 2
24 That is why a man leaves his father and mother and is united to his wife, and they become one flesh

That's why Jesus said...

8 Jesus replied, But it was not this way from the beginning.

Divorce and polygamy was never God's original plan.

The way some of u will burn in hell due to your selfish and immoral desires....

U will see black and white in the bible but will start looking for shades of colour to defend your immoral and careless lifestyle.

Pray U don't end up like onan.

Oga stop deceiving people with one side scripture. This is a public forum and you’re sounding dumb. Where in the Bible did God condemn Polygamy? You’re still running around.
Point where in the Bible God said this is a punishment for anyone who practice polygamy? Mind you, the western are the one that introduced Christianity and forced it on you people and you accept to follow their ways. Same Western are now telling you same sex marriage, why don’t you accept it ? Oh you’re not slave anymore because you hate same sex marriage? Same your masters are introducing all sort of irregularities in Christianity and you’re running away from it why? As long as I’m concern, God never condemn polygamy. Even a verse in your bibles says time will come many women will run to hold on one man just to bear his name Abi no be your bible talk am? Hell fire go really full because una wey be deceiver don lead many to their grave.

Politics / Where Is Amaechi As Rivers Political Leaders Take Sides In Wike, Fubara Rift? by dre11(m): 12:22pm On Apr 27
By Clement A. Oloyede (Abuja) & Victor Edozie (Port Harcourt)

A former Rivers State governor, Rotimi Amaechi, has remained uncharacteristically quiet in the political scene of Rivers State even as the rift between his successor, Nyesom Wike, and Governor Siminalayi Fubara enters the phase where political leaders in the state take positions behind the two, Daily Trust Saturday reports.

Amaechi, who served in the administration of former President Muhammadu Buhari as the Minister for Transport (2015–2023) and governed the oil-rich state between 2007 and 2015, is not a stranger to the predecessor-successor bickerings in the state, as there was no love lost between him and Wike, who succeeded him as governor of the state between 2015 and 2023.

Many observers had noted that Amaechi, who had been the leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Rivers State since the party’s formation, gradually became withdrawn from the party’s affairs from the time he lost his bid for the presidential ticket of the party to incumbent President Bola Tinubu and after the general elections, when his preferred candidate, Tonye Cole, was defeated by Fubara, who had the backing of Wike.

But after the fallout between Wike and Fubara, many had expected Amaechi and his supporters to take the side of Fubara, owing to the well-reported animosity between him (Amaechi) and Wike. This, however, did not happen as the former minister maintained a deafening silence even as the APC National Working Committee (NWC) dissolved the Rivers APC state executive council, which was loyal to Amaechi, and installed a caretaker committee with members loyal to Wike, who is serving in the federal cabinet of the APC-led government as the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory.

Eze Chukwuemeka, a chieftain of the APC in Rivers and an ally of Amaechi, had said at that time that the dissolution of the party’s leadership in the state was “part of the ongoing efforts in a series to wane and totally demolish the political influence and legacies of Amaechi in Rivers State. The public should expect more in the coming months as the stage is set for the cabal to publicly display what has been strategically agreed upon behind closed doors.”

He said this was a grand ploy to demean Amaechi. “Things have fallen apart in the party. Some people from the party recently went to meet Wike to pledge their loyalty to him as their leader, although Wike is not a member of the APC,” he said, adding that the entire scenario was meant to spite Amaechi.

This ridicule, many observers noted, emanated from two sides: first, they suggested that it could have been a sort of payback against Amaechi for refusing to withdraw his ambition and support President Tinubu during the APC presidential primary election, where he came in second with 316 votes against President Tinubu’s 1,271 votes. The second reason, which they believe is closely related to the first, was the decision of Wike to work for the success of Tinubu during the general election against Atiku Abubakar, his own party’s (PDP) candidate. Those close to the president believed that Wike unilaterally delivered the 231,591 votes the president got from the 23 local government areas of the state. As such, it was not surprising when the president appointed Wike as a member of his cabinet from the state, contrary to the traditional way of the president’s party producing the cabinet member.

Observers have thus expected Amaechi to take full advantage of Wike’s rift with his estranged political godson and current governor, Fubara, to get back at his former Chief of Staff-turned-political foe.

This is even as Wike’s former ally and former governor of the state, Peter Odili, decided to identify with Fubara in the ongoing fight. Aside from Odili, other political leaders in the state have also taken the side of Fubara in the fight. They include: former national chairman of the PDP, Uche Secondus; a former Minister of Transport and the Director General of the PDP-PCC in Rivers State, Dr Abiye Sekibo; former Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Chief Austin Opera; a former governor of the state, Sir Celestine Omehia; a former deputy governor of the state, Tele Ikuru; Senator Lee Maeba; and former Secretary to the Rivers State Government, Dr Gabriel Pidomson, among others.

Surprisingly, however, Amaechi has not publicly commented on the ongoing rift or taken sides. After the 2023 general election, the former minister went back to school, completed his law programme, and was admitted into the Nigerian Bar alongside 4,411 other successful candidates in March.

Like Amaechi, several other leaders of the APC in Rivers State have also refused to comment on the rift between Wike and Fubara, making observers believe the Amaechi faction of the APC in the state may be biding their time. The APC gubernatorial candidate in the 2023 election in the state, Tonye Cole, an ally of Amaechi, has also maintained a stoic attitude towards the development of the state, but Senator Magnus Abe, who earlier left the APC to contest the governorship election on the platform of the Social Democratic Party (SDP), in January announced his decision to return to the APC and said it was only proper to support Tinubu’s administration. He has, however, also refused to comment on the Rivers political crisis.

Amaechi wants Rivers people to be the judge of character – Aide

Speaking with Daily Trust Saturday, however, a media aide to Amaechi, Eze Chukwuemeka Eze, said that the former governor of Rivers State is not keeping quiet or silent about the political development in Rivers State.

Eze, who spoke with Daily Trust Saturday in Port Harcourt, said that it was wrong to assume that the Wike or his loyalists have taken over APC in Rivers State. He added that it’s an elusive dream to assume that Ameachi has lost out in Rivers State politics.

“That is nothing but an elusive dream, as they lack what it takes to take over the structure of the party in the state. Forget about the so-called APC; they know that they have lost the battle for the soul of the party in the state as all their plans are falling down like the cards.

“In answer to your question on what Amaechi is doing, to the best of my understanding, it is to bring to light the statement that ‘silence most of the time is golden and that silence at times is louder than much noise’.

“For a clearer picture, Amaechi has played his politics in Rivers State for over 24 years, and in the same vein, Wike has also played his own politics for 24 years in Rivers State. What Amaechi is doing is allowing the people of Rivers State and the entire Nigerian population to compare the politics and personalities of these two characters and then determine who is a better leader to lead the state in 2027.

“I will suggest that we just be calm and watch out for the scenario. Wike can’t take over APC when he is the greatest enemy of APC in the state; he never knew how it was formed, so what he is currently doing is the type of politics he is well known for, which will come to nothing in a few years.

“In conclusion, Amaechi is the soul of Rivers State politics, and neither Wike nor anybody born by a woman can dislodge him, no matter the evil machinations or plots. Those who have followed Wike sheepishly have come to understand the political blunder they have committed and are in the process of retracing their steps. It is also not in doubt that Fubara is the current governor of Rivers State, and nobody will deny him that. Amaechi, as a peaceful and patriotic fellow, can’t work against the state or her governor.”

Another associate of the former minister, who pleaded anonymity, said Ameachi is a man of high principle and does not give in to flippant talks.

He said Amaechi was busy all this time with his law programme and was just called to the bar.

“He is fully aware of all the political activities in the state and will talk at an appropriate time,” he said.

The immediate past Publicity Secretary of APC in Rivers State, Darlington Nwauju, said Amaechi has always been wary of taking on issues pertaining to his former staff and will always maintain that disposition.

“He supported someone else against Wike in 2015 and 2019 for reasons Rivers people and Nigerians are now beginning to ask his (Amaechi’s) opinions. What else will he say that he didn’t say before? Asking where he is in the current fight for the soul of Rivers State will be most unfair to him.

“As per the talk of Wike’s loyalists taking over the APC in Rivers State, we leave that to the courts to decide,” he added.

Sports / Re: The NBA Begins by A40(m): 1:20am On Apr 27
kendrick9:
Your opinion but the fact is Jamal hasn't made an All NBA team.
Shai made an All NBA last season and will make it again this season.
I'm not even gonnal talk about all star cause some might say it's a popularity contest but SGA is still making those teams irrespective.
Watch these games and stop being swayed by these polling booth awards.

Ever since Jamal tore up his ACL the focus for the Nuggets has always been postseason and not spamming regular season stats and accolades

Paolo Banchero, Kyle Lowry, Sabonis, Victor Oladipo, Roy Hibbert are all players that have been Allstar or All NBA. No big deal there cos none of them are as good as Jamal and we all know this

Jamal has been 20-4-6 the last two seasons. For a top 2 seed in the West. If you think he needs to make any team for us to know his quality think again. Scan the league right now and tell me the team that will not trade their second best player for Jamal Murray

kendrick9:

Murray is a very good 2nd option don't get me wrong, every great side needs a good 2 to complement their number one.
Pippen was to Jordan, Kobe to Shaq, Gasol to Kobe, Kyrie to Lebron.
But the problem is when you want to take that 2 to a 1 and most of the times they fail.
Kyrie left Lebron and couldn't lead the Boston.
He's now a 2 to Luka.
Good that you point out all players need a good 2 to win.

Again you're not understanding the difference in pressure for a Kyrie that was expected to go to Boston and win vs a SGA that is allowed time to grow and fail and try again.

Being a former 2 now #1 expected to win is not the same as being a number 1 just trying their luck in the playoffs. SGA would wilt under the pressure Kyrie was under.

kendrick9:

Kobe was the only outlier who made that progress from a second option to a number one man leading the Lakers to the championship title.
No matter how great any player is they need a very good second man and some good role players.

Kawhi traded SGA who was a rookie for PG cause he wanted to win now.
In hindsight that was a terrible mistake judging by how things have gone now
SGA team was

22-50
24-58
40-42

3 losing seasons before their #2 pick Chet Holmgren showed up and lifted their ceiling

That's the luxury players like SGA enjoy, playing with no expectations and pressure to win

Family / Re: Should I Be Regretting This? by UjuJoan2: 10:35pm On Apr 26
UnfairLife7:
like i said earlier, there's absolutely nothing wrong in escaping poverty through marriage as a lady. I know of a particular family that struggle to feed. They're poor obviously but the man and the children strive hard to put food on their table. The man lost his wife to breast cancer and his last son to little illness due to lack of money. The first daughter struggle and graduated from school. During her youth service year she met a guy who's a Canadian citizen. He came to Nigeria for an important thing that was how they met and he prophecy love to her. A year after her service they got married and she moved to Canada. This year make it 14 years she's married to this guy. They had 3 lovely kids two boys and a girl that are Canadian citizen. She studied biochemistry in Nigeria in her first degree but later switched career and study nursing. She's now a nurse in Canada. Her immediate younger brother studied engineering in Nigeria and to the glory of God he's now in Canada. He left last year through PR courtsey her sister. The last child a girl is in University studying law. Her widower father refused to remarry after almost 20 years he lost his wife. He said the success of his children is all that matter to him. Their success is his companion not woman.

This lady in question was married a virgin at 24. A virtue most Nigerian girls lack. So would you advise the poor girl to reject the guy because she wants to claim a super woman? She wasn't sleeping around or keeping school boyfriend like most Nigerian girls indulge in school. She was a virtous woman, hardworking because she stood with her father and siblings. She was like a mother to them. She has every reason to sleep around or probably keep a boyfriend in school like we know it's the norms amongst Nigerian girls.

The fact that you work for every penny you had, successful and didn't depend on a man's wealth doesn't make you better than her. Everybody success story can never be the same. Likewise everyone failure story can also not be the same. Tinubu contested for the presidency and he got it at first attempt even though we all know it was rigged while Buhari contested four times or thereabouts before he got it but at the long run both of them are successful and they are both president of Nigeria.

Provided you're not sleeping around as a lady, provided you're not idling your time or being lazy as a lady. I personally don't see a crime if you meet a rich or comfortable guy with legal source of income and he seek your hand in marriage, i see no crime in it accepting his proposal. The fact that you rejected your guy with British passport doesn't make you better, superior or Super woman than the lady that accept the guy with Canadian passport.

I will NEVER encourage my daughters to date for money. The difference is that they can walk away when they get treated badly. Money gives you a voice.

You think the fact that a guy married a woman and took her out of poverty is some kind of victory? She should go ahead and marry the man and face whatever abuse he will definitely give her. I’ve seen women married to wealthy men without a penny to their name. I’ve seen a man give the maid money for upkeep because he doesn’t want the wife to get carried away with money. I’ve see a man buy special foodstuffs for himself and separate ones for the wife. The other day a lady posted about how her husband would buy chicken and eat alone and let them go hungry. Imagine the humiliation? When God has given you all it takes to take care of yourself!!!

Only a man will talk the way you are talking, because you know what you stand to gain by having a wife who depends on you for every single thing. Then you can have complete control over here and be free to treat her like a slave.

Only poor people think marriage is a way out of poverty, and that is why they are poor.

I can’t even imagine how degrading it will be for a woman to depend on a man for everything!!! I have never done it and my daughters will never do it.

Religion / Re: The Christian Creation Story. Why Its An Old Wives Tale by Emusan(m): 8:50am On Apr 26
jaephoenix:
The Bible is a book adored by Christians. It has been found to contain a lot of errors, lies and contradictions and thus not a reliable book. I made a thread about it here, in case ya'll wanna check it out and debate on the points there. Unfortunately for Christians, the gaffess were so many, and they could not come up with any defenses.
But in this thread, I'm gonna concentrate on the creation story, cos a Christian challenged me to(Just like another christian challenged me to open a thread about the bible errors and in the end he never gave any defenses). The errors are so much that I have to take them in parts. So this is only Part 1

What are the factual errors in the Genesis creation account?
There are several errors, since it’s a creation myth based on the knowledge, superstitions and misconceptions of the people who wrote it, just like any other creation myth. Let’s consider just some of them:

You started the thread with a strawman argument.

Even though I've done this more than 10years ago on this forum I'll just try to summarise my point because I don't have time for a lengthy post.

1. Duration time for the creation. This is the first considerable problem. Genesis says that, from the early stages of the earth’s formation to the dawn of man, only six days passed, which is obviously wrong. We know this whole process took about 4 billion years.

You don't know stop lying, you believe it's 4Billiion years.

Many apologists try to solve this crude mistake by declaring that the word “day” has a more vague meaning, such as six general divisions of time. We don’t know this, however, and the whole context of the story seems closer to 24 hour days (for example, we constantly read “And the evening and the morning were the first day.”).

The Creator is a witness to His own creation and He's the one says He did it in just 6 days and model the time for man to used.

Even 100Billions years can't produce a design model out of chaos.

2. The order of creation days. The order in which the creation events happened in the bible and the true geological and biological evolution of the earth are completely different. Some examples follow:

You can't expect Creation to be the same as what follows after.

Creation came with supernatural events.

For instance the creation of the first man came as a FULL GROWN HUMAN not as a baby yet the way the Creator program Baby to form and develop is different.

a. In Genesis 1:7 it says God divided the waters above and under the firmament. The only logical way to interpret this “firmament” or “heavens”, is the atmosphere, where water in vapour form is stored and eventually falls as rain. If this was done in a subsequent stage of the earth’s formation (day two), we would expect that the amount of water vapour in the atmosphere should increase over time. We however know that the exact opposite happened, as carbon dioxide and water vapour were partly replaced by oxygen.

You came up with your own insertion not what Bible says.

b. In Genesis 1:11 it suggests that plants were the first form of life to appear, what is obviously wrong. It also suggests that plants and animals appeared in different times, what we know not to be true. Last, if compared to Genesis 1:16–18, it indicates that plants came before the sun, which would be impossible since sunlight is a fundamental ingredient to the process of photosynthesis, which is how plants produce their food.

If we should go by six days of creation.

Plants can survive weeks or even months without Sun.

So, few days between plants and sun isn't an issue here.

c. In Genesis 1:16–18, as discussed before, the sun comes only after the plants appeared on the planet, which is obviously absurd. Some apologists try to save this by alleging that the sun already existed but wasn’t visible until the fourth day, since the earth’s atmosphere was thicker. First of all, the atmosphere was already transparent enough to see the sun when the first plants appeared in the planet. Moreover, the organisms from which plants evolved had already “invented” the process of photosynthesis and hence needed a substantial amount of sunlight. Finally, there are several studies who show how a plant’s growth is deeply affected by an increased period of cloudy days, and so it’s absurd to suppose that big trees and others could have appeared in a time of thick atmosphere, where the portion of light entering the planet was so weak that the sun wasn’t even visible.

No issue here as stated above.

d. Genesis 1:20 and 24 suggests that flying animals came before land animals, which is just wrong due to the fossil and DNA knowledge we have.

How many Fossil and DNA do you have from YOUR 4 BILLIONS AGO?

which Land Animal first appear and which flying animal first appear?

3. Magical elements. Some apologists argue that the creation myth in Genesis has a special status, since it’s much more “sober” in terms of reality than the creation myths of other religions. First of all, what matters is the truth. To construct a fable with elements closer to reality doesn’t change the fact that it is a fable. Secondly, the fact that the Genesis account seems less mesmerizing than others is just because the israelites followed monotheism (or at least monolatrism), and hence their creation story was devoid of the many struggles between gods that commonly take place at the beginning of other myths. Finally, it’s important to remember that there are many magical elements surrounding the Genesis story: the book of Revelations talks about a war in heaven between a dragon and his hosts and an angel and his hosts; Genesis itself, just a few pages afterwards, talks about talking serpents, magic fruits and a universal flood that occured just because God was in a bad mood with humanity

I don't see how this relates to the other part of the thread.

Miracle exists with God and the creation itself is miracle.

So, do you think God who created human with speech can't make snake or any animal talk?

I've placed a bet on iLOTBET favoring Tottenham to win the upcoming North London Derby against Arsenal. The match holds substantial importance for both teams' ambitions in the 2023/24 season. Ange Postecoglou's Tottenham must secure a victory to close the gap on Aston Villa in the pursuit of Champions League qualification.

Currently trailing Villa by six points but possessing two games in hand, Spurs have the opportunity to narrow the margin to just three points if Unai Emery's Arsenal triumphs in their Saturday evening clash. Meanwhile, Arsenal is also eager for points as they vie for the Premier League title.

Leading the league table with five games left, Arsenal's position might undergo a shift by Sunday afternoon due to midweek fixtures involving Arsenal, Liverpool, and Manchester City, with Liverpool playing on Saturday afternoon. With the North London Derby looming, Postecoglou faces crucial decisions regarding his team selection. Football.london delves into the challenges awaiting the Australian manager.
Politics / Nigerian Woman Breaks Guinness World Record With 55-hour Interview Marathon by BuhariCarryGo: 8:13am On Apr 25
Nigerian social media entrepreneur Clara Chizoba
Kronborg has broken the world record for the
longest interviewing marathon with a time of 55
hours 24 seconds.
The previous record was 37 hours 44 minutes by
Rob Oliver (USA) in 2022.
Clara, who hosts a talk show on YouTube,
interviewed 90 people of various nationalities and
occupations, including politicians, business
owners, content creators, actors, real estate agents
and many others, the Guinness World Records
revealed on Wednesday.
According to GWR, the conversations were centred
around how each guest achieved success in their
respective field.
It noted that Clara grew up in relative poverty in
Onitsha, Nigeria, which fuelled her fascination
with the concept of success.
Clara was quoted as saying: “This record attempt
was about bringing together diverse individuals,
sharing their inspiring narratives, and forging
meaningful connections on a global scale.
“I am committed to amplifying voices, particularly
those of hardworking women, and using their
stories to inspire others facing similar challenges.”
Clara’s record attempt took place on a docked
yacht in the Spanish city of Marbella, where she
currently lives.
In addition to the usually sunny harbour being
struck by a heavy rainstorm, Clara faced several
difficulties during her record attempt.
She says her voice became “very hoarse and
rusty” but she avoided losing it by drinking lots of
water.
A report by GWR said, “As with all ‘longest
marathon’ record attempts, Clara accrued five
minutes of rest time after each hour of
interviewing; only during these breaks was she
permitted to nap, change her clothes, or go to the
bathroom.
“So, to compensate for the large volume of water
she was consuming, Clara wore adult diapers
throughout her record attempt.”
“Even worse, my period started the same day, and
I was already having intense menstrual cramps,”
she revealed.
“At some point I was literally dripping pee and
period stain, but I persevered and kept my eyes on
the goal. To anyone who ever reads this, once you
find your purpose, go after it with everything
you’ve got.”
Clara also reportedly suffered neck and back
aches, which her team relieved with massages
during her rest breaks.
The report said she also struggled with sleepiness
at multiple points but according to her, she gained
a “battery recharge” every time she began
interviewing a new guest, as she was eager to hear
their story.
Enduring all the hardships was worth it for Clara,
who says it feels “surreal” to now hold this world
record.
“Recalling everything I went through physically,
mentally, financially, emotionally – it feels so
unreal,” she said.
“I am extremely proud of this accomplishment
because I know lives have been touched and
changed.
“This achievement is dedicated to all those who
dare to dream and persist, regardless of the
challenges they face.”
Clara’s achievement comes a few days after fellow
Nigerian, Tunde Onakoya, set a new Guinness
World Record for the longest marathon chess.

NEWSWhy I didn’t build new schools in Anambra as governor – Peter Obi opens upPublished on April 24, 2024By John Owen Nwachukwu

He presidential candidate of the Labour Party, LP, Peter Obi, has responded to the question that he did not build a single new school when he was Governor of Anambra State.

A popular social media personality, Reno Omokri, had last week hit out at Obi, challenging the the former Anambra State Governor and his followers to show a single school he started and finished in his eight years as governor.

Reno promised to reward handsomely, anyone that could show a school built by Obi.

And responding to this during a press conference in Abuja on Wednesday, Obi said those who said that failed to avail themselves of his manifesto.

He said that when he came to Anambra State, education was in shambles, schools were closed and the state was number 26 in the country but by the time he left, Anambra was number one in the state.

“I improved the quality, physical and mental well-being of the people, schools, had the basic things they needed and the people shone like stars and that was my manifesto.

“Building new schools when the old ones are moribund is just like building coastal lines when internal roads are impassable.”

“After 60 hours of mental torture, we set a new record for the longest chess marathon in the world. We pushed human limitation and gave the world something new to believe in,” he said.

The challenge was held at New York City’s iconic Times Square.

Politics / Bwala Faults EFCC Chair’s Press Briefing On Yahaya Bello by ogugwa1992: 8:14pm On Apr 24
Bwala faults EFCC chair’s press briefing on Yahaya Bello, says ex-Kogi governor is on media trial

Daniel Bwala, lawyer and public affairs analyst, has criticized the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) over the allegations against former Kogi state governor Yahaya Bello.

Bwala, a member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP)’s presidential campaign committee in the 2023 general elections, condemned the “trial by media” approach by the agency.

The legal practitioner who was reacting to the recent press briefing by the EFCC chairman, Olanipekun Olukoyede, accused the commission’s boss of conducting public discussions akin to a courtroom trial, where media outlets act as judge and jury.

Speaking on Arise TV’s morning show today, Bwala said: ”What happened yesterday was like a prosecutor in court doing his opening address in the view of prosecuting the matter. And who was the judge yesterday? it was the pressmen.

”That same privilege, Yahaya Belo does not have to also state his own case. So, we can call it a complete trial by the media.

”This is one of the many reasons why people tend to ask the question, is the commission actually intending to prosecute, or is the commission indirectly giving an opportunity for the accused to escape?

”Because this same thing is like it has always been playing in EFCC’s approach to prosecution, which has led to so many high-profile cases going out of hand.

”Like, for example, if you give a forensic analysis of what he said in the press yesterday, a right-thinking member of the society would say this was a planned script to give Yahaya Belo an escape route.

Why did I say that? One, the trial in Nigeria is a trial not by jury. Even trial by jury is not a trial by the media. Two, having submitted a charge to court with the evidence that he has been granted an order of substitution and he has served Yahaya Belo through his counsel, he has submitted to the jurisdiction of the court. Was there any need to hold a meeting and begin to argue the substance of the charge?

”Three, some of the things he said yesterday has created more doubt and fed into the allegation of Yahaya Belo that he would not seek justice because it was a persecution.

”Otherwise, let me tell you one or two things. One in the press yesterday, he said he accorded a special privilege and respect to Yahaya Bello. That same privilege was not given Bobrisky. That same privilege was not given to others.

”The procedure in EFCC is, except if they change it, they will write to you. That’s why there will be that evidence that you were invited because it falls on the fulcrum of the commencement of a trial that the accused must have been invited for investigation.

”He even said yesterday that we don’t need to even take his statement in order to charge him. That means you’ve already done what you needed to do. So why is the insistence to arrest him?

And then when you open your mouth before the press to tell them that you said, okay, you come through the back, I’ll ensure you come to my office, then the operators will come to my office, the investigators, and then they will investigate.”

Bwala stated that the comments of Olukoyede suggest the EFCC chairman has been breaching the protocols of the anti-graft commission.

He accused the EFCC chairman of building a narrative against ex-governor Bello, using the media instead of the law courts.

He further queried the EFCC about when it would commence criminal trials to get the defendant convicted instead of running to journalists.

His words: ”You are trying to say that as chairman, you can breach protocol and procedure that you set. Does everybody you invite to that commission get the same privilege? Now, is the very concept that everybody is equal before the law and nobody is above the law applied?

”He now went ahead to talk about the substance in the charge sheet. So, what was he actually trying to achieve? He wants to convict Yahaya Bello before the media so that if the substance of the charge eventually fails, the media can then build a narrative that the judge was bribed or that nobody wants EFCC to succeed.

”There is no country in the world where you take that path, you end up succeeding. The energy can only be challenged in one direction. Unfortunately, EFCC chose to do it through the media rather than in court.”

Bwala reiterated that Bello has an order that has not been set aside by the court, urging the EFCC to obey the order.

”The order says that he should not be arrested, he should not be prosecuted,” he stated.

He added: ”EFCC does not believe that that order should be sustained. EFCC challenged that order. That challenge has not been determined by court.

”Now, attempting to arrest him when that has not been determined, please help me ask students of Nigerian law school, what is the interpretation of that in the court of law?

”They also have another order to arrest him, and that order to arrest him has not been brought before a court in which counter-argument was made, and the court adjourned for a ruling. What is the import of that?

”So, you have a coalition of judicial voices, and these courts that have given the various orders are courts of coordinate jurisdiction, in which each order’s decision does not bind the other. So, we are not even going into the administration of the federal high court as to how you deal with this kind of conflicting order.

”All these orders are valid and subsisting until they are set aside. But, you see, all of them have been overtaken by the events because, before this court, it has been adjourned for a ruling.”

Bwala further accused the EFCC of playing with the sensibility of Nigerians in the case of ex-governor, Bello.

He called for reforms in the anti-corruption commission, noting that the EFCC is all about media and drama rather than the actual prosecution.

He said: ”Now, yesterday, the court gave an order for substituted service through Yahaya Bello’s counsel, Adeola Adedipe S.A.N., right? And Adeola Adedipe S.A.N. was saying categorically before the court that there was no order arrest, you know, any invitation before the assault, the invasion of Yahaya Bello’s house and the declaration of a warrant of arrest. And he wanted that warrant of arrest vacated before his client could appear before the court.

”What do you think we’re likely to see next in this drama? To go to the arena of a court, which is a proper place for the matter to be heard, not in the media. What do you think we’re likely to see next?

”Now, the two facts to be gleaned is that there is an order for arrest that has now been contested before a judge for which it has been adjourned for ruling. EFCC is not supposed, after today, to be chasing Yahaya Bello anywhere.

”Even if he’s walking in front of their head office, they are not supposed to arrest him, because now it has been contested before a court and court has adjourned for ruling.

”Two, there is an application by Yahaya Bello that that order of arrest should be stepped down because it has been overtaken by event since I have now been served. And on the next adjourned date, it is only when I don’t show up that the court can be requested to issue a bench warrant.

”But now, having served me, the law requires for me to study the charges ahead of my arraignment. And so, arresting me will amount to breaching on my right to prepare and come and take my plea.

”So, and that request that that order of arrest should be invalidated has not been granted or refused because it has been adjourned for ruling.
Where these two facts exist, the way we know it, we teach students in law school, is that a party must maintain status quo pending the hearing of the various applications and objections so that court will decide.

”If on that day, the court says, your request to set aside this order of arrest has now been overtaken by event because you are already before me, then fine. If the court says, on that day, you are not before me, so that means this order to arrest will have to be extended, even if you throw away, there will naturally be a request that a bench warrant be issued since you have not appeared for your arrest. If the court set it aside, then you proceed to trial.

”What it means is that the two sides of the coin, whichever way you flip it, it maintains the value of the coin. If the coin is 10 naira, irrespective of the two sides of the coin, the coin remain 10 naira, I mean 10 kubo. Now if the coin’s value changes from 10 kubo to 5 kubo, then you begin to look at the distinctive characteristics of each of the two sides of the coin.

”So this is where we are now, and I don’t want to talk about whether this application will succeed or it will fail because that is left for the court to decide. But what we know is that where parties have submitted themselves to the jurisdiction of the court, parties are to maintain the status quo pending the direction of the court.

”So if the EFCC continues to be chasing him up and down, it will now feed into the narrative that the EFCC is all about media and drama rather than the actual prosecution because you have now found that your charge has been served on him.

”What are you supposed to do as prosecution? You are supposed to then prepare on that day after arraignment, you will now do your open address or request for a date for trial. This is the fact as they are.

”The media interview he did yesterday, he shot himself with so many types of bullets by clearly showing to the world that it’s a disproportionate application of their principles.

”I told you the first one, which is that one is saying you come to my office through the back door, and then I’ll get people to come and interview you, which nobody gets that. And the law is that everybody is equal before the law and nobody is above the law.

”Two, you have seen the zeal with which he must be arrested. Now, if you ask somebody, they will say, but there are other similar cases before you for which you have even given a preliminary report of indictment, but you have not arrested the person.”

Religion / Re: The Second Coming Of Jesus Christ - Tim Conway by Splendour99: 7:20am On Apr 24
Notice what He says in verse 23, “They will say to you, ‘Look, there!’ or ‘Look, here!'” He says, “Do not go out and follow them.” Why not, what if it is Christ? He says it won’t be. It won’t be Me. Verse 24, “For as the lightning flashes and lights up the sky from one side to the other, so will the Son of Man be in His day.” Now I just want you to stop at those last two words. What does “His day” mean? What is the day of the Son of Man? And again, I would take you back to verse 30. We know what our Lord has in mind: “So will it be on the day”. That is His day. The day when the Son of Man is apokalupto (revealed). That which is veiled is no longer veiled. His day is the day when the Son of Man comes again. He is revealed.

What does this imply? It implies that He is not revealed right now, and that goes hand in hand with what He is expecting. You guys are going to get in difficult times; there is going to be persecution. You guys are going to find yourselves in prison. You guys are going to find this world is not a nice place. Wars and rumors of wars, and affliction. Those who put you to death are going to think that they are doing God a favor. That is what you have to look forward to. It is going to be difficult. Remember He said this to them? He said, “I am telling you these things so that you don’t fall away.”

That’s why He is telling them these things because He is saying, “Look, there is going to come some days, He told them concerning fasting, they don’t fast now, the bridegroom is with them. The day is coming, the bridegroom is going to be taken away, they are going to fast. Those are hard days. There is sorrow, there is longing, there is difficulty. You are going to long for those days. Brethren, if we are living the Christian life right, we ought to be longing for Christ’s coming; longing to see Him; longing to escape. This is what His day [implies]. He is not revealed now, He is out of sight now but He is coming again.

Remember the two angels? When Jesus Christ ascended, His disciples were standing there, they’re watching Him go, He disappears into the clouds, two angels appear right there. They say in Acts chapter 1 verse 9, “As they were looking on, He was lifted up, and a cloud took Him out of their sight. And while they were gazing into heaven as He went, behold, two men stood by them in white robes, and said, ‘Men of Galilee, why do you stand looking into heaven? This Jesus, who was taken up from you into heaven, will come in the same way as you saw Him go into heaven.'” You know why it is foolish; it is absolute foolishness to believe when anybody tells you that Jesus Christ has already come? Why is it so foolish? Because when He does come, there is not going to be any doubt in anybody’s mind that it is happening. That is why it’s foolish.

Listen, if there is any kind of event that takes place in this world that you actually have to sit there and contemplate “hmmn, I wonder if He has come,” you can be certain He hasn’t. That is what He is saying here. He says when He comes, it’s not going to be a matter that anybody has to sit down and do calculations or try to figure out. Nobody is going to have to say, “He’s over there!” It is going to be such an event that is going to take place, it is going to be so radical, it is going to be so bright. If you have to analyze whether He’s come or not, He hasn’t. Lightning, brethren, fills the whole sky. It’s like lightning flashing from one end to the other. Everyone knows it, everyone sees it. And so it’s going to be when the Son of Man is revealed. I want you to see this. There is nothing secret about this. It is like lightning that flashes, not secret.

You see, there is this very prevalent idea today that Jesus Christ is coming twice. Or, that His one coming can be broken up into two: the secret coming where He raptures the church, and 7 years later, this open coming where He defeats the Antichrist. Brethren, I’ll just tell you this, and you have to be honest. From this, there’s nothing about a secret coming. This coming right here is open, it’s apparent. Nothing about a two-part coming. There is one coming, very visible; precisely what John tells us. Listen to this: Revelation chapter 1 verse 7, “Behold, He is coming with the clouds.” This is just what the angels told the disciples, there in Acts chapter 1. “Behold, He is coming with the clouds, and every eye will see him.” You see how public it is? This thing is public, it is spectacular, and it is terrifying. Every eye will see Him. There will be no doubt. You don’t have to wonder, “Oh I wonder if it’s happening.” Every eye will see Him. It’s like the lightning. It’s greater than the lightning. You can imagine lightning flashing.

You know what? It’s the kind of thing that is instantaneous. You think about a bolt of lightning striking at midnight; black sky. A bolt of lightning could strike way over here on this horizon, and you would see it flash at night, probably in the day too. You can see the flash. Lightning is brilliant. It’s instantaneous. And the thing about it, well there are other things that happen instantaneously, maybe an earthquake happens instantaneously; a volcano erupts. But He is speaking about something every single one of us in this room are familiar with. We have all experienced lightning at night. Lightning, at all, we’ve experienced it. It registers with us. If we are all in here at night and a bolt of lightning strikes out there, you know what happened. Every eye is going to see it. You will know when it is happening.

Notice this, just listen to me. John says, “Every eye will see Him, even those who pierced Him, and all tribes of the earth will wail on account of Him. Even so. Amen.” You know, as a young believer, I wondered at that verse. You get saved and you think, “I want to see the Lord. I have an expectation of seeing the Lord.” And then you read right here, “All the tribes of the earth will wail on account of Him.” Do you know what most men [think]? Oh I am sure. You talk to people on the streets, you come with us when we evangelize, you get a real clear picture about what people think. Almost every single person we speak with expects to be received by Jesus Christ. But the picture that our Bible portrays is a world full of wailing. I want you to imagine this. I want you to think about this. At the moment Jesus is revealed, think about what happens. That instantaneous moment. Every eye sees Him. Do you recognize what happens? How many ever billions of people are alive at that moment in time, something is happening to every one of them at the same instant. You know what is happening? You know what is happening. You know exactly.

We are talking people just like us. They have thoughts, they have hearts. A moment before, they were just living their lives. They had hopes, they had ambitions, they were going somewhere. Driving down the road; walking across the kitchen. Responsibilities, lives, hopes. Can you see it? Multitudes upon multitudes, at the very same instant, they are hit with “I am not ready. It is all over. This is not good.” I mean, it is happening to a world full of people spontaneously at the same moment. “I am undone.” Brethren, why would John describe a whole world of wailing? Because, by and large, that is representative. It is only this little flock, just little flock, (the ones who, right now, are counted as fools and fanatics, who loved Christ more than life itself,) who will be the exception. This silly, little, stupid bunch of nobody’s always reading their Bibles and talking about getting saved, who are going to marvel at His coming. Their shame will be turned to joy and gladness.

He says this, Luke 17:25, “But first He must suffer many things and be rejected by this generation.” You see, Jesus needs to say this. Why? Because just like we saw, the Pharisees, “You’re going to set up your kingdom now?” His disciples over in Luke 19, “Lord, is it at this time?” Remember even there when He is getting taken up in Acts chapter 1, “Okay Lord, is it this time? We thought it was when we were headed to Jerusalem but it didn’t happen then. Is it now?” You see, it is the same question over and over. Jesus is trying to put the pieces of the puzzle together for these guys. You notice: “First I must suffer.” They could not yet conceive of the cross. They fully expected Jesus to just come set up His earthly kingdom. But Jesus as He is speaking about His coming in glory, He is careful to mention first His humiliation, His suffering, His sorrow, which must precede His exaltation. Why? So that they don’t fall away. For the sake of their faith. Wasn’t it that way? Two on the road to Emmaus, “We thought it was going to be him. All disappointment now.” What He is doing is He is telling them; He is seeking to teach them so that His disciples wouldn’t be weakened by false expectations and misunderstandings. “Guys, I’ve got to suffer first.”

Now notice this. Two examples. Our Lord is going to give us two Old Testament judgments. Real historical judgments that He is going to liken His Second Coming to. You have to remember this. Whatever glory there may be; how much we ever may marvel, (and there may be a time for worship among us believers,) you have to recognize it is a time of judgment. And when He wants to go back into the Old Testament and pull up two stories that resemble His coming, both are stories of judgment. This should shake us because of what stories they are. They are the two most devastating Old Testament examples of judgment found in our Bibles.

Let’s read Luke 17:26, “Just as it was…” Brethren, I hope you catch those words. He’s not saying, “Well, when I come, it’s going to just basically be a celebration. Yes, there will be a little bit of judgment going on, and a few wicked people cast away.” No. He says, “Just the way it was in the days of Noah and the days of Lot. Just as it was, so will it be in the days of the Son of Man. They were eating and drinking and marrying and being given in marriage, until the day when Noah entered the ark, and the flood came – and notice this – and destroyed them all. Likewise, just as it was in the days of Lot— they were eating and drinking, buying and selling, planting and building, but on the day when Lot went out from Sodom, fire and sulfur rained from heaven and destroyed them all.” Same words: destroyed them all. Verse 30, “So will it be on the day when the Son of Man is revealed.” It is going to be a day for wailing. When those judgment rains began to fall, you can imagine as those waters rose, the people wailed. I don’t know if anybody was even given a chance to wail in Sodom and Gomorrah. Not in this world. They are wailing now. They were wailing moments afterwards in the place they were.

Two things. Two things I would have us notice about these two stories. True stories. Historical accounts that Jesus likens His own revealing to. One is: I mentioned that God destroys them all. Do you feel the weight of this? I mean, think about it. Of all the stories that He could have brought, He brings one, the first one, eight souls were spared. All the rest died. The second story, four souls escaped Sodom and Gomorrah. All the rest were burned alive. He says in verse 30, “So will it be on the day when the Son of Man is revealed.” Just as it was in Noah’s day and in Lot’s day, so will it be. Our Lord said, “Few there be that find it.” Did He not? Our Lord also said, “When the Son of Man comes, will He find faith in the earth?” Oh it is going to be a terrible day. Terrible day. That was the first thing, God destroys them all.

Notice the second thing about these two stories: The unexpectedness. That ought to jump out at you. Just look! Look what He wants us to see. It’s not like you even go back into the Old Testament and find that these things were ever spoken about. These are things Jesus knows were true that He wants you to know were true. These are not things you go back to the Old Testament in the book of Genesis and read about. These are things that Jesus knew were taking place that are so much a parallel to when He comes. Just normal life. Just doing what you always do: eating, drinking, marrying, buying, selling, planting, building, life as usual. It happens when you don’t think it will happen. Notice both in the example of Noah and the example of Lot, they are just going along. And then what He says. He says they are just going along; eating, drinking, marrying, given in marriage, until the day. There’s always a day. There’s the day Noah went into the ark. Or how about with Lot? What’s happening? Eating, drinking, buying, selling, planting, building, but on the day when Lot went out of Sodom. In verse 30, “So will it be on the day…”

Just going along. Most men get caught unaware. Just engaged in other things. They are not expecting this. I mean, look, think about how life is. We just had a wedding yesterday. You folks have plans. Buying and selling. You know, put it right where you live. “Yeah, I’ve got to go to the store.” Or, “this is theology, that’s kind of where I live.” This Book has to do with where we live. You’re going to go to the store. Some of you ladies probably would have thought today, “I’ve got to go to Walmart. I’ve got to go to HEB. I’ve got to go to Costco. I’ve got to go to Sam’s.” Buying and selling. That’s what they are doing, just buying and selling. Marrying and given in marriage; we had a marriage yesterday. David was talking about marriage. Marriage sanctifying or not being married can be sanctifying. Some of you are married, you’re thinking about your marriage. Some of you are not married, you want to be married. This is life. This is just the normal things.

Planting. Well, we don’t do much planting, we go get our food somewhere. Building. It’s just the stuff of life. People thinking of making trip to the store. Business ventures; plans for a new house. Just life as usual, and it’s going to be exactly like this on the day when the Son of Man is revealed. Suddenly like a flash of lightning, there it is! And the King in all His glory, Scripture says, He is coming with His angels in flaming fire, and He is going to carry out vengeance on His enemies. And when you figure that by and large, the vast majority of this world is going to be at enmity against Him, even people, Jesus said many religious people are going to say to Me in that day, “Lord, Lord, we were there. We were in the church and we were doing many mighty works and prophesying and casting out demons. We were the religious folks. We were the ones saying Lord, Lord. We were there. We were singing the songs.” “I never knew you.” And they are going to know. They are going to know the moment that they see Him. They are not ready. He is going to bring vengeance against those who obeyed not the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ.

I’ll tell you what, men’s hearts are going to fail. That’s where the wail comes from. Imagine it. Imagine whatever it is, 10 billion, 15 billion people, or whatever it is, alive on the earth at that time. The vast majority, their hearts will fail in the same moment. It’s all over. It’s all over. My friend, men may count you a fool for following Christ now. Not in that day, they will not. In our day, men’s lips are quick. They are quick to call us whatever they want to call us – “radicals, fanatics.” They want to mock, they want to say their things, they want to ridicule, they want to slander. In that day, no tongue will wag against God’s people. The richest, the most powerful people in this world, will trade everything to be one of the followers of the Lamb. Everything! But it’s too late. The door is shut. Their time of opportunity is gone. Oh, what fools! They were offered a Savior, not like the demons who had no chance. They were offered a Savior, and they said, “Nope.” Oh brethren, we go to people’s doors, you know it, “This Book, it was just written by men. It’s a mirage. It’s a myth. The Bible is just a bunch of stories.” It will not be that. It will be all too real.
Religion / Re: Thomas Called Jesus, My Lord And My God. Jesus Didn't Say, I Am Not God. by MaxInDHouse(m): 7:08am On Apr 24
43Ronin:
You see, the problem is that Jesus neva said he was God. He always acknowledge God as his father & even God acknowledged him twice as his son, so where's the confusion coming from
Jesus said:

“The Kingdom of the heavens may be likened to a man who sowed fine seed in his field. While men were sleeping, his enemy came and oversowed weeds in among the wheat and left. When the stalk sprouted and produced fruit, then the weeds also appeared. So the slaves of the master of the house came and said to him, ‘Master, did you not sow fine seed in your field? How, then, does it have weeds?’ He said to them, ‘An enemy, a man, did this.’ The slaves said to him, ‘Do you want us, then, to go out and collect them?’ He said, ‘No, for fear that while collecting the weeds, you uproot the wheat with them. Let both grow together until the harvest, and in the harvest season, I will tell the reapers: First collect the weeds and bind them in bundles to burn them up; then gather the wheat into my storehouse.’” Matthew 13:24-30

After Jesus' ascension the apostles fight really hard to keep away Satan's agents from among God's people but they were hiding in different congregations pretending that they're also obedient to the faith, the apostles could figure out such ones even knowing them by name {3John 1:9-10} Satan realized that as long as the Apostles are around he won't be able to pollute the body of Christ which is the church so he began attacking the Apostles and killing them one after another {Revelations 12:17} until they are all gone according to Jesus it's the time when all his Apostles are sleeping in death {Matthew 13:25} that's when Satan began promoting falsehood and using politicians to intimidate anyone who objects to such falsehood in fact it's the politicians who later took over that's how fighting and killings became a way to propagate religion after the death of the Apostles! John 10:10
Normally true Christians are no part of any killing because Jesus warned them that they should be harmless as doves! Matthew 10:16

So today watch all these people claiming they're Christians and see how they're arguing in support of politics while they are supposed to be preaching (promoting) the Good News of God's kingdom. Satan only used different keys to lock their brains so that they won't notice the most important assignment given to true believers {2Corinthians 4:4} which is to gather peace lovers globally {Isaiah 2:4 compare to Luke 10:6} this churchian spewing gibberish has no understanding of all these in fact he can't point out any religion that's making peace just as Jesus taught his disciples that's why Jesus has sent his angels today to gather them in different schools of thought globally {Matthew 13:30} like Atheists, Agnostics, Judaists, Muslims, Traditionalists, Buddhists, Hindus, Churchians all claiming they're knowledgeable and ready to talk about what they think they know is none of them can meet up what God promised regarding His worshipers/students in this last days except Jehovah's Witnesses! Isaiah 2:2-4; Micah 4:1-3

You guys are the ones feeding the monkey and making him relevant but ask yourself; who is Reno and what is his relevance even in Delta State politics or society as a whole talk less of the affairs of a private individual or indeed the entire Nigeria. What is his day job because we obviously can't say it's to antagonize a private individual who has done him no harm 24/7. He is as irrelevant as a mosquito in a jungle yet you people are giving him unnecessary attention. If he was really serious about his life, he would pack his stuff including that masquerade cock shoe he wore with agbada, enter Delta State and pledge loyalty to Ibori, Tompolo, Uduaghan and co so he can be fixed in somewhere instead of constituting nuisance on social media like a teenager

Your stupidity knows no bounds if not "nonsense won't be coming from you.

Be asking me if its possible to monitor chidren 24hrs...What a stupid question

Yes some situations are beyond control but children shouldn't be left without monitoring.

Just because parents in Nigeria can lock up children in homes and go out to parties/work doesn't mean it's normal.

You're definitely one of those parents that's even if you're a parent.

Try am for here, dem go jail you.

Nonsense.

What heartless and careless parents.

How can your children leave your peripheral vision without you calling out to know where they are?

Monitor your children.

Gone are the days when parents felt safe enough to yell..." lo sere nita"..."go and play outside" without fearing the worst.

11am to 4pm inside this heat

And nobody in the neighbourhood saw or heard the cries of these babies?

So sad😡

No dey talk nonsense. I'm sure you're not a parent, how can you say the parents are wicked? How possible is it to monitor kids 24/7? It's not as if they were babies
