No one kills in the name of God. No one! Thousands of people kill in the name of the false prophet Muhammad. How do you call that a religion of peace? Why are there no Christian suicide bombers? Even the extremely rare violence against blood thirsty dirty animals have always been by atheist ( the case of australia) and not Christians.

HBOMax plans to be available in 190 countries by 2025. So till then those regions will have to make do with the status quo. New CEO David Zaslav during earnings call this past week insinuated that HBOMax is second in list of priorities now and the most important is re-establishing the theatrical market place. This is in stark contrast to the strategic plans of ex chief Jason Kilar strong push for streaming content, expansion and spending.

He said the studio will continue to use and hand out streaming distribution deals with local distributors. A plan I see as pretty dumb and annoying. It was the problem in the first place. Seems he secretly plans to bolster Discovery+ dunno. Also the plan to combine both libraries into one mega streamer is still unclear how and when they plan to do that.

WarnerMedia's constant change in leadership every 3 years does some significant damage to overall expansion plans. Each leader seems to have a different idea about how content distribution should be. Whether he meant existing deals being maintained or entering new ones remains to be seen.
It's still early days so we don't know yet the full picture. HBOMax is currently available in 61 territories and Global Subscriber count of 76.8 million. It has the 3rd highest Average Revenue Per User (ARPU) of $11.24; currently the 3rd highest streamer by subscriber numbers with far lesser global footprint. So it can sit pretty and wait out it's time. It knows it's audience pull and quality of content in comparison to the others.
So it's pretty much wait and see at the moment.

If you look closely at the European availability maps for both HBOMax and Disney+ you'll notice that there's not much difference in both except for Disney's availability in Western Europe. That's where HBOMax experience the biggest expansion issues.
Because of those long term contracts HBOMax won't be able to launch in those countries till 2025 except they buy out the contract. Countries like Italy, Germany, UK and Ireland, Switzerland, Belgium, Austria, Lichtenstein and France. Sky will not easily relinquish it's 4 regions of jurisdiction. The funny thing is these countries are where the biggest growths are and where the money at in the region. Eastern Europe and the Nordics has been HBOMax significant launch in Europe.

Although France deal expires this year and will be launched along with the Asia Pacific region (SE Asia, India, Korea). So about a total of additional 11 countries later this year. The larger part of Asia, The Middle East and Africa ain't in plans presently.

As for australia and NZ that one most likely comes up In 2025. Same as Canada's Crave deal that expires 2025. For Africa, HBO has a deal with DSTV's Showmax for 2022 (and prolly beyond), so it's most likely 2025 launch.

As for Paramount+ I just take it their weak content and fine-tuning of the Streaming app and expansion in the US and Canada is the paramount strategy before thinking of being a global player. They aren't taken seriously in its domestic home and it'll definitely receive competition from local players asides from expansionist problems it'll need to fend off from global rivals. If anything, expanding subscriber numbers FIRST in Latin America is a saner approach than jumping into Europe straight up.

I'm based in South Africa, and I have to say, the country is a real battleground because it is an emerging market where people have only recently discovered the convenience of streaming. Every school sport is streamed live, and there are numerous international partners seeking to break into the DSTV (Multichoice) dominated market.

I have DSTV Premium and Showmax, but I'll reconsider my subscriptions once Disney+ is launched here next month. Evidently, all of the content pulled from DSTV, Netflix, and Showmax will be available on Disney+, as a result, DSTV will be virtually useless to me.

Ramiro Alanis, from Florida, USA, has reclaimed his record for the most cinema productions attended of the same film, after watching Spider-Man: No Way Home 292 times between 16 December 2021 and 15 March 2022.

That’s a total runtime of 720 hours, or 30 days.

Ramiro previously achieved this record in 2019 with 191 viewings of Avengers: Endgame, but it was broken in 2021 by Arnaud Klein, who watched Kaamelott: First Instalment 204 times.

Before Ramiro first broke this record, it was held by Joanne Connor (australia), who watched Bohemian Rhapsody 108 times in early 2019. A few months later, Ramiro shattered the record with 191 viewings of Avengers: Endgame.

After then losing the record to Arnaud Klein, Ramiro decided to break it again by another huge margin.

Now you are beginning to see and understand why i prefer British series to most American series.
Note: i do not hate American series, they have great series and the industry is the biggest In the world ( massive respect to them) however most of their series and movies has majorly superhero fares, there are no wow factors, nothing to challenge an intelligent talking point, no word play, no character development, no mommy that gives nostalgic feelings.
Unlike as you said the His dark materials which is a British series but you got to see the character development and all.
It is even save to say that America movies are the ones making America to be on top and not their series, unlike other countries like the UK, Europe and south Korea that their series are what are giving them relevancy.
But in general, most America series, be it series or movies are majorly about Being a hero, fights, guns, fighting against an enemy and then repeat again and again.
If you look at it critically almost all America plots are the same, just different characters. What's the difference between hawkey and arrow or flash or wonder woman or batman or spider man?
My brother they are all the same soups but different cooks.
The only thing working for them are the audience, they have huge audience and the media and social media to push their craft around.
But when you watch other series from UK or Spain or south Korea, you see plots that wowed your mind.
For example take a look at the plot from bodyguard to his dark materials then to the gangs of London then to peaky blinders.
Peaky blinders and the gangs of London might be crime series but they are never the Same plot.
Now take a look at Bridgerton and series like the white Queen, the crown, Tudors all series of royalty but different plots.
We all watched Versailles of France, we all saw how interesting the plots and casts are.
We all saw vis-a-vis and the cable girls in Spain, we all saw Wentworth of australia.
These are series that will forever be loved by all of us.
Do you know 90% of all the series we have all talked about in general in this very thread are not America series?

Now take a look at how we all loved and adored terhan ( Israel series)
All i am saying is that most America series are over hyped.
In general series from UK, Europe and Asia are more better in terms of plots and character development.
Can't you see how animes from Japan are number 1 in the world?
For many years Chinese karate movies were what we watched while growing up from evil cult jetli to drunken master Jackie Chan.
Apart from the military in USA and the music, America is grossly over hyped because they control the media.

I'll agree with you on the point that Hollywood runs on hype...
But there are still great movies and series from Hollywood...
First of all if you wanna get good series just ignore anything superhero except The Boys and Umbrella Academy
There are still lots of trash tho but it's same as every other country

"Finding Nemo" has all of the usual pleasures of the Pixar animation style--the comedy and wackiness of "Toy Story" or "Monsters Inc." or "A Bug's Life." And it adds an unexpected beauty, a use of color and form that makes it one of those rare movies where I wanted to sit in the front row and let the images wash out to the edges of my field of vision. The movie takes place almost entirely under the sea, in the world of colorful tropical fish--the flora and fauna of a shallow warm-water shelf not far from australia. The use of color, form and movement make the film a delight even apart from its story.

My friends and family, i have all turned them a fan of the Series

I have always known there is something special about Nanaevea, right from episode one. We still have no idea how she tracked moraine and Ian. She hasn't spoken how she tracked them.

Even when the woman on Red said her braid was beautiful, i knew there was something about her and her braid and guess what!! The ending confirms my suspicion.

Kudos to the organizers of the show for picking her, she is just the perfect example for that row, the look she gave at the end of the scene got me scared, i swear down!! ( I think i am in love with her)

Of course rand is the real dragon reborn, if you could remember the dream he had when he vomited a dead little dragon and you know when they separated, it was rand the dark king followed.

Mehnn!! I can't wait to see the powers of Egwene and the rest even the full power of Rand himself.

I hope they don't make us wait till season 2 though because 8 episodes is not enough to fully go into details of This series.

Well the Good News is that They have started filming season two and i am hearing season three is already on the talk to be renewed.

This series Just make me love the British and Australian accent the more, very romantic accent, similar accent you can't tell the difference.

Did Rand vomit a dragon or was it a bat? I remember them all having bats related dreams. Dragon nor dey der. The Dark Lord sent a fade to chase Rand and Mat because that girl in episode 3 (a dark friend) said she informed a fade of their presence in the town that's why they had to run at the ending of episode 3. The dark Lord doesn't know who the dragon reborn is. That's why the trolloc captured Nynaeve in ep 1 instead of killing her on the spot.

I've read only one book sha, that was The Dragon Reborn (Part 3, I think). I wasn't a fan of long novels till I read this one, but learning that it has FIFTEEN parts really discouraged me, cos I no get that time cheesy

But my interest has been resurrected. Don't think I'll be able to start the book, so I'll just start the series.
