YOU HAVE WHAT YOU SAY - Part 9. Mark 11:23-24 (KJV) "for verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith. 24 Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them.". 9. In Numbers chapter 13 and 14 a whole generation of Israelites and the ten spies perished in the wilderness because they got what they said. They spake murmurings and complainings. We must be careful about the sin of murmuring and complaining over seemingly insurmountable challenges, mountains, giant enemies and hardships that we are facing. You have what you say. The Israelites got what they murmured and complained. Numbers 14:27-28 (KJV) "How long shall I bear with this evil congregation, which murmur against me? I have heard the murmurings of the children of Israel, which they murmur against me. 28 Say unto them, As truly as I live, saith the LORD, as ye have spoken in mine ears, so will I do to you:.". Our victory over all our challenges is by what we are saying to the problems or about the problem, not by what we are praying. You don't only have what you say in prayer but also what you say thereafter. God hears them all. They are all a product of your mouth. Out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks. What you say is what you believe. In other words, what you say is either your faith speaking or your unbelief speaking. The Bible says 1John 5:4 (KJV) "for whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith.". The victory that overcomes the world is what your faith is saying. You determine what happens to your challenges by what you say to it. According to Mark 11:23-24, the divine or scriptural formula for overcoming challenges is first by speaking to the challenges, not just by praying and praying. It is not up to God to take care of our challenges but up to our faith. If it was up to God then we do not need to pray. What we say and what we pray about the challenges is what determines what God does. As believers we must know it is our responsibility by faith to deal with all oppositions to our life, family and ministry by what we say not just by what we pray. Thanks. Grace be with you. Ref. Father God, in the name of Jesus I believe that Jesus died for my healing. I believe He took all my sickness and diseases on the cross. If He took them, then I cannot have them. Therefore I resist and I reject every sickness in my body and I confess Jesus today as my healer and I receive my healing now. Thank you Jesus that I am healed. 1Peter 2:24; Ps 107:20. Now begin to do what you couldn't do before because of the sickness. You are healed in Jesus name. Heaven is real, Hell is real. Jesus is coming very soon. Judgement Day is coming. But you can become a born again child of God today. The bible says If you shall confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus, and shall believe in your heart that God has raised him from the dead, you shalt be saved. for with the heart man believes unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. Romans 10:9-10; John 1:12. Say this prayer: Father God, have mercy on me. I come to you today in the name of Jesus. I believe in my heart that Jesus is the son of God. I believe that He died for me. I believe that you raised Him from the dead for my salvation. I accept Jesus in my heart today and I confess Him today as my Lord and Saviour. Thank you Father that today I am saved In Jesus name. Some people are not aware that persecution has began and let's see how it has unfolded as written in Matthew 24. Matthew 24:9 Then shall they deliver you up to be afflicted, and shall kill you: and ye shall be hated of all nations for my name's sake. They shall deliver you up ,looking at the kidnappings ,banditry and bomb explosions becoming rampant and I notice it has begun. It's unfortunate that because many of the church leaders have not prepared their followers for persecution and are not teaching them what persecution is,they have become so complacent and many church members instead are willing to save their lives other than loosing it for the sake of Jesus Christ and the faith of God. We have been misled or mistaught that rapture will be a way of escapism instead of being taught to prepare for persecution!!! Persecution starts from the home front eg family,then it goes to the community,then to the village,city and then state before national. Who are the persecutors? They are those who think by killing christians,they are doing God's service! John 16:2 They shall put you out of the synagogues: yea, the time cometh, that whosoever killeth you will think that he doeth God service. They are the antichrists of our time moved with the spirit of religion. They are the Islamic jihadist and all other antichristian movements of our time . They are like the Saul's,the Nero's and the agrippas of our time. They think it's sport to continue killing christians because they don't know the true God the father of Jesus christ John 16:3 And these things will they do unto you, because they have not known the Father, nor me. 16:4 But these things have I told you, that when the time shall come, ye may remember that I told you of them. And these things I said not unto you at the beginning, because I was with you. Islamic jihad will soon become global because Terrorism has been the main playe,r but very soon it will become religious because prophecy has to be fulfilled. All fronts of Christian foundations and support are about to be persecuted and targeted. Churches are about to be sacked with bombs and banditry. Every Christian establishment is about to be attacked. my brothers and sisters ,this is not to cause pandemonium or fear! This is the truth and it's time to wake up in Spiritual warfare prayers against it. If Jesus Christ says your time to die has not come,no one can take your life!!! If Your time has come and you are killed ,you will gain an eternity to be with the lord. This is a litmus test right now to determine your allegiance to Jesus Christ!!! Don't be afraid in the face of death! Revelation 2:10 Fear none of those things which thou shalt suffer: behold, the devil shall cast some of you into prison, that ye may be tried; and ye shall have tribulation ten days: be thou faithful unto death, and I will give thee a crown of life. Jesus Christ didn't say you will not suffer!!! Don't get it twisted. You will suffer and have tribulation in the world but be of Good cheer ,Jesus Christ has overcome the world.John 16:33. Any church leader that is not preparing his members for persecution is not willing to see them unto the end. Pls if you are kidnapped,held at gunpoint,rough handled or even imprisoned,don't fear at all!!! Don't fear those who can kill the human body,fear God who can kill and cast into hellfire. Luke 12:5 But I will forewarn you whom ye shall fear: Fear him, which after he hath killed hath power to cast into hell; yea, I say unto you, Fear him. Don't BE AFRAID IF A MATCHET IS PUT TO YOUR HEAD OR A GUN POINTED AT YOU!!! Many Christians will be killed violently but know this ,we can still pray it off and against it but the time of each ones life is not in our hands to determine. Luke 9:24 for whosoever will save his life shall lose it: but whosoever will lose his life for my sake, the same shall save it. Terrorism has killed a lot of christians already in these end times. ThoRevelation 6:9 And when he had opened the fifth seal, I saw under the altar the souls of them that were slain for the word of God, and for the testimony which they held: 6:10 And they cried with a loud voice, saying, How long, O Lord, holy and true, dost thou not judge and avenge our blood on them that dwell on the earth? 6:11 And white robes were given unto every one of them; and it was said unto them, that they should rest yet for a little season, until their fellow servants also and their brethren, that should be killed as they were, should be fulfilled. Martyrdom in the great tribulation will be the price of salvation. But right now it is called persecution. The bombings ,village attacks ,banditry,bokoharam and Fulani herdsmen attacks have been the persecution against the church and christians for a very long time. Also the ongoing depopulation agenda of the NWO and the release of various viruses have been also another scourge of persecutions against the christians. Many Christians have been killed,it is called persecution. 2 Thessalonians 1:4 So that we ourselves glory in you in the churches of God for your patience and faith in all your persecutions and tribulations that ye endure: 2 Timothy 3:12 Yea, and all that will live godly in Christ Jesus shall suffer persecution. Father's of faith have been persecuted in the ancient times. We have reached a time now and whosever is called a Christian must be ready for persecution before the rapture by any means. Hatred will soon become high against christians as the hour of darkness approaches. When Jesus Christ was in the temple teaching the pharisees and saducces,he wasn't attacked or persecuted. However when his hour came,the people suddenly turned against him. Matthew 26:55 In that same hour said Jesus to the multitudes, Are ye come out as against a thief with swords and staves for to take me? I sat daily with you teaching in the temple, and ye laid no hold on me. Luke 22:53 When I was daily with you in the temple, ye stretched forth no hands against me: but this is your hour, and the power of darkness. If as a Christian living somewhere and you shared the gospel with someone and all of a sudden their attitude and behaviour changes to hate against you,it's time to leave that place Matthew 10:23 But when they persecute you in this city, flee ye into another: for verily I say unto you, Ye shall not have gone over the cities of Israel, till the son of man be come. Christians will always soon be on the move very soon without rest because of persecution. It will spread from the family to work to schools to all aspects of life. About 4000 Islamic jihadist has been unleashed across the southwest. Christians please wake up right now and engage in serious spiritual warfare. At your doorposts and house gates quote psalm 34:7 If you have a business ,do the same thing on it. Also remember to share the Gospel no matter the hate you face. Mark your doorposts and house posts with anointing oil and pray for God's legion of angels to protect you when you go on the move. Pls anyone of your aged that dies,pls understand why God may take them away . It is because they may not be able to stand what is coming when the full hours of darkness are unleashed!!! Don't be afraid if suddenly someone you knows dies and if you have prayed and God said they would not die,you can bring them back to life . But if you suddenly see someone die whom you spoke to yesterday pls don't over mourn or weep. The lord has seen their righteousness that it is complete and has decided to call them home soon. Isaiah 57:1 The righteous perisheth, and no man layeth it to heart: and merciful men are taken away, none considering that the righteous is taken away from the evil to come. Also not that it's not all the old or aged that will die.some will survive and be raptured alive before the great tribulation. One thing is always important,live a holy life so that if death comes you don't be condemned. A matter is given heavenly heroic welcome. Romans 8:35 Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or unclothedness, or peril, or sword? Galatians 5:11 And I, brethren, if I yet preach circumcision, why do I yet suffer persecution? then is the offence of the cross ceased. 2 Timothy 3:11 Persecutions, afflictions, which came unto me at Antioch, at Iconium, at Lystra; what persecutions I endured: but out of them all the Lord delivered me. Some of it the lord will deliver you from,others may escape. One thing is certain,never deny Jesus Christ at all. When the persecution becomes intense,many nominal Christians will begin to betray the true Christians because of gain. This will happen before rapture but it will be rampant after rapture because many have already backslidden in their heart and denied Christ . Matthew 24:10 And then shall many be offended, and shall betray one another, and shall hate one another. So they will be offended at those standing for the truth. No matter what happens know that Jesus Christ is with you unto the end!! Matthew 24:13 But he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved. |

Scripture Text: Romans 12:1-2 1 I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service. 2 And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God. Which one is better? a living sacrifice to God or an offering of a dead body to satan? Giving your body as a living sacrifice to God is better than giving it as a dead sacrifice to the devil. To become a living sacrifice, you need to forsake your dead nature, the old man and sinful nature that is of the devil and the world, and then offer your life to God as a living sacrifice. This means that you make your body holy and pleasing to God so that He can use it for His glory. God only uses a living body which is holy, and not the spiritually dead. What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own? for ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God’s.” – 1 Corinthians 6:19-20 (KJV) God no longer lives in churches that were built by people. He promised that His Spirit would live inside us, His beloved children (2 Corinthians 6:16). God made this same promise to the Israelites in the past (Ezekiel 37:27). His children, who are part of the new covenant through Christ, now make it true. If you are a Christian, this means that your body is the temple of God and the Spirit of God lives in it. Hence, the body must be kept holy, clean, and set apart for God in order for the Holy Spirit to live in it (Galatians 5). It is also important that you hate sin and run from all evil appearances as stated in Galatians 5:19-21. According to 1 John 2:15–17, your life should not match the world and its empty things. You need to stay away from the pride of life, the lust of the eyes, and the lust of the skin. A life completely given over to Christ, a life that has been crucified, is a daily and living sacrifice. These are God's real children who have been "born again" and no longer live their old lives. Someone who is brave enough to say, "I was crucified with Christ, but I live; yet not I, but Christ lives in me; and the life I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me" (Galatians 2:20). The Fire Scripture for today tells us that if we want to be a living sacrifice, we need to change by renewing our minds. This is a spiritual work that starts inside and shows up outside. It will then be easy for us to see and follow the "good, acceptable, and perfect will of God." In order to do God's will, a Christian who feeds their mind with the truth of God's word every day and lets that Word guide their life is a living sacrifice. You can only learn and be led on the right road of life by reading God's word and giving your life to Christ and doing what is right. Without this, you are dead to God. I pray the Lord shows us His mercy in Jesus mighty name, amen. If you would like to give your life to Christ, just say this short prayer: "Lord Jesus, I come to You now, come into my life, take control of my life and change my world. By the mercies of God, there shall be harvest of answers to prayers prayed during the 21 days fast and your own shall not be denied, in Jesus name. We shall yet put on hold our weekly Hour of Mercy today. The reason is because there are things concerning vision that we must still examine before the end of this month. As the Lord lives, non of us will miss our steps this year, in Jesus name. Vision is a key to a successful life. Life without vision will be full of frustration. Suicide in our society today is rooted in lack of vision. A man/woman who sees tomorrow will not kill himself/herself today. Let me make something clear to you this morning - a lot of people have mistaken an ambition to be a vision from God. Today, I want to show you by the Spirit of God what vision is and what ambition is so you will know whether what you carry in your spirit is a vision worth pursuing or ambition to lay aside. This is so important because God will only supply provision for the vision that originates from Him. Now, there is a clear difference between vision and ambition. The truth is that a lot of people today are not visionaries, they are ambitious. What is vision? Vision is a revelation of a God's plan as related to you. Ambition on the other hand, is your strong desire to want to achieve something, probably because you admire someone who achieved that. Ambition can be totally different from the original purpose of God for your life. So, vision is from God while ambition is a self-made plan. Ambition is liable to failure and if care is not taken, it can even destroy the ambitious person. Absalom, the son of David was ambitious of becoming a king contrary to the original plan of God for him. Instead of going to God to receive God's plan, he devised his own plan against his father David and he ended his life shamefully. It is ambition that moves you to want to achieve things by all means and not by God's means. Hey! God is capable of handling His vision for you. Whatever you want to achieve in an unholy manner and at all cost is a proof that you are by ambition. Be very sure that what you are pursuing this year is the vision of God for you and not your self-made plan. PRAYER: I pray for you today, you shall not be misled this year, in Jesus name. DAILY CONFESSION: This year 2024, I am advancing in adversity because I've been redeemed to flourish in hard times therefore my life shall be full of wonders. YOU HAVE WHAT YOU SAY - Part 6 Romans 10:8-10, 13 (KJV) "But what saith it? The word is nigh thee, even in thy mouth, and in thy heart: that is, the word of faith, which we preach; That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.10 for with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation......13 for whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved." 6. Every faith works by saying. First is faith for salvation. See what faith for salvation says in the scripture above Romans 10:8-10. Notice from this scripture that the word of God is first in your mouth before it is in your heart. You are saved by what you say. It is with the mouth that confession is made unto salvation, healing, deliverance, prosperity, etc. And it is whosoever calls on the name of the Lord Jesus that is saved. Also note, that it does not say you should pray to God or Jesus to save you. As important as salvation of souls means to God and man, there is no where in the Bible we are told to pray to God to save anyone. Salvation is a gift that God in Christ Jesus has already given freely to all men, so you do not need to pray and beg God to save you or anybody. The great commission is Jesus sending us to preach and announce to the whole world that He is Lord and Saviour and they should believe and accept Him. We are not sent to tell them to pray and beg God to save them. God is waiting for you to receive salvation by believing the gospel and confessing Jesus as your Lord and Saviour. The ultimate purpose of the gospel and the Church is to cause every knee to bow and every tongue to confess Jesus as Lord and Saviour both those who will do so willingly now and those who will do so by force at the end. Believing the gospel is bowing. The point is that, whether now or at the end the Lordship of Jesus over all demands believing and confession. You do not need to fast and pray to be saved. And you do not need a special prayer from a man of God or anyone before you can be saved once you are ready to be saved. Neither do you need to confess your sins or confess that you are a sinner before you can be saved. There are no such scriptural requirements in the new testament. Even in the ministry of Jesus no one needed to confess their sins before they were healed. Jesus only demanded faith and faith confessions from them. Confession of sins belong to believers and Israel who are already in a covenant relationship with God. Not for unbelievers or the world. Grace be with you. Ref. Alabama has executed convicted murderer Kenneth Eugene Smith with nitrogen gas, the first time the method of capital punishment has been used in the US. Kenneth Eugene Smith, 58, lost two final appeals to the Supreme Court and one to a federal appeals court, arguing the execution was a cruel and unusual punishment. In 2022, Alabama tried and failed to execute Smith by lethal injection. He was convicted in 1989 of murdering a preacher's wife, Elizabeth Sennett, in a killing-for-hire. According to the Death Penalty Information Center, Smith is the first person to be put to death using pure nitrogen gas anywhere in the world. Alabama and two other US states have approved the use of nitrogen hypoxia as an alternative method of execution because the drugs used in lethal injections have become more difficult to find, contributing to a fall in the use of the death penalty nationally. Five members of the media were transported by van to Holman Correctional Facility in Atmore to witness the execution. "Tonight Alabama causes humanity to take a step backwards," Smith said, according to witnesses. "Thank you for supporting me. Love all of you." After the gas began to flow into his mask, the inmate is said to have smiled, nodded toward his family and signed "I love you". Witnesses observed two to four minutes of writhing and about five minutes of heavy breathing before he was pronounced dead at 20:25 local time (02:35 GMT). Breathing nitrogen without oxygen causes cells in the body to break down and leads to death. Alabama Governor Kay Ivey, who did not respond to a request to attend the execution, confirmed Smith's death in a statement. "After more than 30 years and attempt after attempt to game the system, Mr Smith has answered for his horrendous crimes," she said. "I pray that Elizabeth Sennett's family can receive closure after all these years dealing with that great loss." Attorney General Steve Marshall said it had proved to be "an effective and humane method of execution", refuting the "dire predictions" of activists and the media. "Justice has been served," his statement added. Alabama corrections Commissioner John Hamm said Smith's shaking on the gurney appeared to be involuntary movements. "That was all expected and was in the side effects that we've seen or researched on nitrogen hypoxia," Mr Hamm said. "Nothing was out of the ordinary from what we were expecting." Alabama said in an earlier court filing that it expected Smith to lose consciousness within seconds and die in a matter of minutes. Smith was one of two men convicted of murdering Mrs Sennett in a $1,000 (£790) killing-for-hire in March 1988. The 45-year-old was beaten with a fireplace implement and stabbed in the chest and neck, and her death was staged to look like a home invasion and burglary. Her husband Charles Sennett, a debt-ridden preacher, had orchestrated the scheme to collect insurance money. He killed himself as investigators closed in. Smith's fellow hitman, John Forrest Parker, was executed in 2010. At his trial Smith admitted to being present when the victim was killed, but said he did not take part in the attack. The victim's son, Charles Sennett Jr, said in a media interview that he had little sympathy for Smith. He told WAAY-TV: "And some of these people out there say, 'Well, he doesn't need to suffer like that.' "Well, he didn't ask Mama how to suffer? They just did it. They stabbed her - multiple times." In a statement, Smith's legal team said it was "deeply saddened" by his execution, noting that the jury in his case had voted to spare his life but a judge overrode that decision. "Nothing can undo the tragic consequences of the actions for which he was convicted, including the pain of the Sennett family and friends," the attorneys said. "Kenny's life, however, should be considered in its full context." Earlier on Thursday, the Alabama Department of Corrections shared details from the inmate's final 48 hours. Smith was visited by members of his family, two friends, his spiritual adviser and his attorney. He had a breakfast of two biscuits, eggs, grape jelly, applesauce and orange juice. STRIFE Strife is a work of the flesh .strife is also the root of confusion. James 3:16 for where envying and strife is, there is confusion and every evil work. Any person who is full of strife will always create a scene of fighting and quarreling which is an act of war,even among the peaceful by what they say or what they do! In any organization,in any cooperation or any social setting strife can occur. Nigerians themselves are at the mercy of doctrinal and political strives. One of the things responsible for strife and which triggers strife is HATRED!!!! Hatred among christians towards christians will stir up strife in a church. Racism and tribalism are forms of strife that has enveloped the world today! Xenophobia is also a form of strife. A person who hates another person because of what they do,say or how they wield greater influence or affluence by their presence or absence willin any location or setting will always gender strife even among the gentle and peaceful. Sometimes women are the cause of such problems than men in the church. Some women respect one minister above another and pay attention to one above another forgetting it will arouse envy and jealousy among ministers either directly or indirectly!! Some women have favorites and are hearers of a certain mentor over another and worse still is the issue of spiritual father's . Some women are guilty of treating their husbands lowly and their ministers highly. Sometimes ,it's a tug of war ,some wives or single sisters treat a man of God highly than respecting their own family members or obeying their parents. These things generate strife indirectly or directly!! The devil used slander,gossips and evil speaking,backbiting ,and all forms of blackmail against men of God and ministers to destroy a church. This is called the strive of Tongues!!! What we say about a man of God no matter how true or how lie it is either helps the devil. Sometimes people can speak bad about an erring man of God and vilify him and crucify him instead of praying for his restoration!!! They won't know when Satan is using them all the time to carry out his work of division which is the final cause of Satan's work against the church!! Some men of God who are also jealous or envious of each other can be have this way and speak bad about their fellow men of God and report them all about instead of praying. There may be agents of the devil who also are in charge of such things. It is important to note that one must be careful of speaking against any man of God or joining against them to speak against them no matter the evidence on ground so we don't help the devil in his work of accusations by strife! There are false religions in the world whereby their gods cannot save them but their worshippers begin to fight for their gods. The God of the Christian faith is the one and only true God who is powerful and needs no one to defend him . It is also dangerous for a father that was not in a sons LIFE to expect him to be in his life at any situation or circumstances! The absence of a father will impact on that of a son. A son who feels unloved and a son who feels insecure will see the father as a stranger in his life. He won't value or respect the father's input. One thing we should note is that it also applies to a daughter. A daughter who misses the love of a father will also be behaving masculine than feminine because they feel they have to become breadwinners in a place where their fathers failed. Some men too behave feminine because of the absence of a father . One thing to note is that STRIFE starts from the heart. James 3:14 But if ye have bitter envying and strife in your hearts, glory not, and lie not against the truth. Strife doesn't show in the face but it operates from the heart. We ask if the body of Christ is divided by doctrinal strife and the answers is yes ! Eg we have deeper life members ,winners chapel ,redeemers ,foursquarers Christ assembly,CAC,the Apostolic faith etc who do not come together sometimes or agree in some doctrines of Jesus Christ! Although some mistakes are now being corrected in each denominations,still some people forget that they are not the owner of the church but God is. It's also sad to see that some people have taken the church as their properties closing doors against revivals from sent ministers of other churches who are not popular or famous like them. They forget that the purpose of the five fold ministry is to edify and equip the saints unto perfection as the lord Jesus Christ instructed. Philippians 1:15 Some indeed preach Christ even of envy and strife; and some also of good will: The five fold ministry if not complete in any denomination or gathering will never allow a church to grow. 1 Corinthians 12:27 Now ye are the body of Christ, and members in particular. 12:28 And God hath set some in the church, first apostles, secondarily prophets, thirdly teachers, after that miracles, then gifts of healings, helps, governments, diversities of tongues. Ephesians 4:12 for the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ: Finally,Jesus Christ said "it is finished! Past mistakes of the father's ,present mistakes of the sons can be resolved when there is reconciliation!!!! The major work of the gospel is reconciliation!!! I prophesy to you today that as you read this, a pleasant book of remembrance will be opened in your favour, in Jesus’ name. According to the Cambridge Dictionary, the word remember means to be able to bring back a piece of information into your mind or to keep a piece of information in your memory. In Genesis 8:1, the Bible says that God remembered Noah. Ordinarily, one cannot imagine that God can be forgetful and not remember the family He put in an ark. Thus, when the Bible said that God remembered Noah, it could only mean that God was now paying attention to Noah’s situation. The same thing applied to Rachel in Genesis 30:22-23 where the Bible says: And God remembered Rachel, and God hearkened to her, and open her womb. And she conceived, and bare a son; and said God hath taken away my reproach: The above scripture reveals another meaning of remembrance: the taking away of reproach by a higher power. When God remembers a barren woman, she conceives and becomes a mother of children, like in the case of Hannah in (1 Samuel 1:1-28). She had been constantly provoked and humiliated by her rival because of her barrenness, and it seemed like her case was hopeless. However, God remembered her and intervened in her situation when she cried out to Him in Shiloh. When she returned to Shiloh, she was carrying her testimony in her hands. In Esther 6:1-11, God intervened in the case of Mordecai against his adversary, Haman. Mordecai and his niece, Esther, prayed, and there was a breakthrough. The king was unable to sleep, and he commanded that the record books be read to him. While this was being done, the good deed of Mordecai that had been forgotten was brought to remembrance. That could only have been God. Nehemiah understood the things that can happen when God remembers a fellow, and that was why he prayed that prayer in Nehemiah 13:14. Beloved, I encourage you to ask that the Almighty God should open a book of pleasant remembrance for you this year. A review of the performance of the erstwhile Speaker of the House of Representatives in his political domain could serve as a yardstick for evaluating the actions, deed and dispositions of many of his elected colleagues in the National Assembly who are presently docile, unimpressive and lack the necessary bite for delivering the dividends of democracy to the people in their various state constituencies. Let it be very clear from the beginning that the writer of this article is not partisan but someone who has the rare privilege of having lived in the Surulere Constituency 1 from 1966 to date, a period that is almost equivalent to the current life expectancy at birth for males in Nigeria. In other words, Femi Gbajabiamila himself was barely 4 years old at that time because he was born on June 25, 1962 while the writer of this article moved from Lagos Island to Surulere in July 1966 in his teenage years. Therefore, an appraisal from a person with the above credentials is certainly not misplaced as his contributions would certainly place the right peg in the appropriate hole. Femi’s performance in office which is today the talk of the town in Surulere Constituency 1 may leave the mouth agape to many people but not to those that are conversant with and appreciate his family background and pedigree as the son of a mother who was one of the midwives of the Surulere Local Council and who served the community with absolute dedication, selflessness and loyalty of the highest degree to the people of her community. The first direct contact that Surulere had with the family of Mr. Lateef Gbajabiamila (Femi Gbajabiamila’s father) was when his wife, Alhaja Lateefa Olufunke Gbajabiamila who is now a nonagenarian was elected as the first female Chairman of the Surulere Local Council during the administration of Alhaji Lateef Kayode Jakande. Her sterling performance and administrative dexterity coupled with love for the poor and the downtrodden makes her a darling of the people till date. An outspoken but humble individual, Alhaja Gbajabiamila left her foot- print on the sand of time to the extent that when her son, Femi Gbajabiamila sought to be enlisted on the ballot papers for the House of Representatives, the people of Surulere Constituency 1, had no doubt in their minds that they were committing the community into a good hand. Long after her service years as Chairman, Alhaja Gbajabiamila continued to care for the needy, particularly widows as she would share their pains while providing succour to them in the face of adversities and vicissitudes of life. She is a disciplinarian with fear of God adjacent. Her son, Hakeem Olufemi Gbajabiamila who was appointed as the Chief of Staff to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on June 2, 2023 was first elected into the House of Representatives in 2003 and has since been returned to the National Assembly five times. Like the Yoruba would say “Omo kii ba Ipele iya e nile ki o si Aso da” literally meaning “A child who has access to a sample of his mother’s apron cannot make a wrong choice of fashion.” Femi Gbajabiamila’s performances and services to the constituency in those twenty years show that good administration, love and kindness to the people and above all administrative acumen run in the family. There is hardly any part of the constituency that Femi’s Midas Touch was not felt. A very polished, refined quiet achiever, Femi’s dedication to the wellbeing of people within and outside his constituency and would forever be remembered by our people who cut across ethno-religious divide of Nigeria. The list of visible projects is almost endless. Starting from the donation of three new state of the arts buildings to the Surulere campus of the Lagos State University of Science and Technology and the complete rejuvenation and renovation of the high rise building within the campus are legacies that are worthy of emulation. Installation of wireless internet services to the campuses of the school in IKORODU and Surulere are worthy of mention. Donation of hostel buildings to the main campus of the University of Lagos is still on the lips of the students and staff of that university. This is despite the fact that the university falls outside Gbajabiamila’s political mandate. The official commissioning of projects of a conference Centre at the Lagos State University on January 2, 2024 shows that his hands of fellowship are stretched to the entire state. The dualized Baba Animashaun Road and Census Bridge is another project that would touch the lives of the citizenry. The people of Sam SHONIBARE are not likely to forget in a hurry how their swampy open field that was in near derelict state which they have been struggling to reclaim has been revamped and turned into a community development centre. The people of Surulere can now boast of additional well equipped state of the art General Hospital donated and located on Iyun Road by Femi Gbajabiamila. The National Open University of Nigeria now has a Surulere campus on Clegg Street in Surulere. The police station on Bode Thomas Surulere that was vandalized and set ablaze during the unfortunate ENDSARS protest has been rebuilt to complement the security of the community. The youths of Coker-Aguda and can now boast of a befitting mini-stadium built and equipped by Femi GBAJABIAMILA. It is an endless achievement and eye-popping for all those who get constituency allowances without utilizing them. If all the members of the Green Chambers emulate Femi GBAJABIAMILA, Nigeria would have been glowingly bestowed with growth and development. Imagine each representative building one general hospital as GBAJABIAMILA did, then it means there will be at least one hospital in two Local Councils. Why won’t the health and life expectancy of our people improve? Similarly, a donation of one police station in similitude of what Femi did would have removed insecurity from Nigeria. Growing through criticism Sun, 14 Jan 2024 ‘If you accept correction, you will be honoured.’ Proverbs 13:18 Solomon said, ‘If you accept correction, you will be honoured.’ American author, Charlie Shedd gives us ten ways to grow through criticism: 1) Criticism is often a compliment. The barbs in daily life strike only those who raise their heads above ground level. Jesus said, ‘Blessed are you when people hate you, when they exclude you, insult you, and slander your name as evil because of the son of Man’ (Luke 6:22 CSB). 2) Accept that you have faults that are open to censure. Stay humble, and criticism won’t rattle you. 3) Invite criticism from friends; then when it comes from your enemies, you will be broken in. ‘The words of the wicked lie in wait for blood, but the speech of the upright rescues them’ (Proverbs 12:6 NIV). 4) Let criticism make you better. When you burn with anger, you destroy the passport to your own improvement. ‘But when you do good and suffer, if you take it patiently, this is commendable before God’ (1 Peter 2:20 NKJV). 5) Some criticism should be ignored, especially if it stems from false motives. Never give unhappy people the key to your happiness. 6) Keep it in perspective. Don’t believe everybody has heard. Most people don’t care. One bad word doesn’t cancel out the good in you. 7) Let criticism make you kinder. Remind yourself that you have criticised others too. Is this a boomerang that started in your own heart?  pray for your critics. It will improve them and neutralise your bitterness. Hate destroys your health and steals your happiness.9) Check with the Master Critic. What does God say? How do things look deep in your soul? 10) When you have checked to make sure you’re right, move ahead. SOJ WORLDWIDE reported on Thursday that her colleagues who traced her to the toilet when her phone was ringing endlessly forced the door open where they saw her lifeless body on the floor, a bottle of sniper, her suicide note by her side. New details emerge that Amarachi was a Marketer with a new generation bank, Globus Bank Limited, Ikorodu branch, Lagos State. One of the reasons she decided to take her life includes the bank's target, as a Marketer, she wrote, "my figures are low." It is banking 'slang' of not meeting ones target. This could be frustrating when her colleagues are meeting theirs. A close source quoted her mother saying, "she has been complaining that husband is not coming at her age." This is another major reasons why this beautiful lady still searching for husband at 32 committed suicide when some of her age mates have stopped child bearing. But can these reasons justify her suicidal mission? No. Amarachi Ugochukwu was said to have combined shoe making to her stressful marketing job. A concerned resident in Lagos identified as Foluso Adebisi said her son usually patronise her shoe business. "Tiwalade, my son woke me up this morning to a terrible news trending online about a young lady Amarachi Ugochukwu, a staffer of Globus Bank Ikorodu Branch committing suicide. Amarachi was a friend to Tiwalade and Customer of his business, Donetsk Footwear Limited. I had met Amarachi on few occasions when she came for Deliveries at Donetsk footwear during the festive year. Amarachi was a young lady, friendly, amiable and hardworking, a lady cobbler that combined her stressful job of a Banker with another stressful business of shoe making and marketing. I read she left a suicide note complaining of hard life, hard economy etc. Rest well Amarachi, another Star fell to a wrong System, another youth consumed by defective Government and poor leadership in Nigeria. Though committing suicide and taking your life should not have been the option but GOD Almighty knows the best. Good morning friends I have undergone rigorous training by Yahweh since I asked Him what the truth is since 2009 (that's about 14 years now). The revelations that I have got are startling, as well as life changing. Like He has repeatedly told me, the secrets that were denied to the wise and reach are the same that He has revealed to me - a weak and poor child. This came about because I was ready to seat at His feet to learn from Him, even mostly in unfavourable conditions. Brethren, I pray that you may please take me a little serious. While some of you are in your work places most of the times, I have been in His presence listening and taking notes. I am not against your individual efforts to work - NO. work is actually a sublime part of life that we are called to live. But FATHER has designed me for a particular purpose for your benefits, and I can add, has made me pass through some tough experiences. So, please pay attention. I am not going to bore you with lengthy writeups (even when they may be necessary), I will just state here one of the core secrets of life, please listen and be free from unnecessary miseries. From beginning in the book of Genesis, we learnt there that FATHER had made everything before He made man. The simple explanation to this is that all things were put in place for man (that's to serve man) since men are exact replica of Yahweh God. Thus, man is the greatest asset of God, in fact man is God (we have written extensively on the bolded in our book BIAFRA IS A SPIRIT). However, I want to draw our attention to what happened in Genesis 2 from verse 4, there, the bible recorded that no plant or shrubs or grains etc grew in the earth that FATHER had made because He has not sent rain on it, and because those (men) He had designed to oversee His earthly kingdom were not yet made. Thus, the earth had the seeds for vegetation, but they couldn't sprout out or grow because no rain was sent to it. So, an average man could have all the potentials for procreation and fruitfulness, but if he is yet to be drenched with the dew from heaven; he will be dry, barren, or stagnant. But the question now is; has FATHER withheld His rain from anyone? Brethren, the answer is no. As at this moment, FATHER'S rain, His grace, and His favor is still being poured lavishly on the earth. 2 Corinthians 6:1-2 says that the promised grace, the promised help, and the promised favor, all speaking of the rain of FATHER have NOW been made available through His son Jesus Christ. Then we ask, why are so many of us dry, barren, and stagnant? Why the so much toil, hardship, struggles, and miseries? What are we not getting right or what have we failed to learn? Brethren, take notice of this; Firstly, FATHER may have provided us with the seed and the rain, but we need to know how and where to sow the seeds. Thus, the greatest tool of the devil against the saints today is ignorance. We have kings living as slaves because they lack the knowledge of who they are, what they have, and how to use what they have. Secondly, what if one is in a prison or a grave or a hole or under any kind of covering where this rain cannot reach? His land will as well be patched, and nothing will grow in it. Thus, I know that the enemy may have thrown a lot of people into a place where they cannot receive the rain of God. This is where we need each other to pray and lift one another away from such dungeon of darkness, Jesus Christ has enabled us, we need only to act. Before I conclude, bear in mind that as a believer in Christ Jesus, you don't compare your life with those of others not professing Christ as their Lord and Personal Savior. Once you say Jesus is Lord, the enemy will come after everything concerning you. That's not so with others who are not professing Christ, the find things pretty easy. The idea is to demoralize the saints and make it look as if they have taken a wrong decision. Be wise then, and shrug off the enemies wiles. But then, we must pray. Miracles have ceased. 1 Corinthians 13:8 Charity never faileth: but whether there be prophecies, they shall fail; whether there be tongues, they shall cease; whether there be knowledge, it shall vanish away. 13:9 for we know in part, and we prophesy in part. 13:10 But when that which is perfect is come, then that which is in part shall be done away. 2.The Deceit of the Devil 2 Thessalonians 2:8 And then shall that Wicked be revealed, whom the Lord shall consume with the spirit of his mouth, and shall destroy with the brightness of his coming: 2:9 Even him, whose coming is after the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders, 2:10 And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved. 3.False prophets Among Us Revelation 16:13 And I saw three unclean spirits like frogs come out of the mouth of the dragon, and out of the mouth of the beast, and out of the mouth of the false prophet. 16:14 for they are the spirits of devils, working miracles, which go forth unto the kings of the earth and of the whole world, to gather them to the battle of that great day of God Almighty. 4. Idolatry Idolatry is a spiritual fornication is tantamount to destruction if one doesn't repent. Many people today now to images of Mary and Jesus Christ. This is idolatry which God warned us about in Exodus 20:4 Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth: Exodus 20:5 Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them: for I the LORD thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me; Those who say Mary pray for us or start trembling when they see images of Mary in tbe skiy or that of angels should stop doing so. These are the acts of Satan the devil to keep many In perpetual ignorance. Mary is not Immaculate, therefore we should not give the glory of Jesus Christ to her. The Mediator Jesus Christ is the mediator between God and man. All should chennel their wants , needs, prayers and supplication through Him. 1 Timothy 2:5 for there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus; 2:6 Who gave himself a ransom for all, to be testified in due time. In conclusion Jesus Christ warned us in Matthew 24:24 for there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect. 24:27 for as the lightning cometh out of the east, and shineth even unto the west; so shall also the coming of the son of man be. Giving of gifts, being liberal or generous is one of the major components of sacrifice, especially when such gift items, donations or good works are the proceeds of legitimate hard work and honesty. It even becomes more praiseworthy when it is coming from a passionate and sincere heart rather than for selfish or political ambition. Nigeria’s political history is replete with politicians who wet their ambition in advance by embarking on premeditated development projects such as installation of transformers, drilling of borehole donations, scholarship sponsorship, among others with the motive of capturing the minds and hearts of the people ahead of the next elections. But such cannot be said of the onyeka’s, okere’s, Nwaorgu’s and their illustrious sons and daughter who have put into practice the saying “charity begins at home. Umuaku, a serene and quiet village in Umuodagu Ntu community in Ngor-Okpala Local Government Area has started to witness gradual return of nightlife. This is as a result of the installation of Solar Energy powered street lights in major road streets that crisscrossed the four kindreds that make up the village. The installation which is estimated to have cost over 1.5 million naira was the initiative of Mr. Calistus Onyeka and his family who visited home from the US for the festive period. While grapevine has it that Mr. Calistus Onyeka was the brain and initiator of the solar lights installation, but Mr. Calistus Onyeka in a forum refuted it. He declared that it was his first son – Kennedy and daughter – Shilla Chimdinma who merged their resources and funds for the purchase of over 30 pieces of solar energy lights. Earlier before, people hardly stayed out to 12 midnight on a weekly basis, but the reserve is now the case with the solar street lights in place. People now gather in groups at strategic spots to discuss one issue or the other as they make merry under the illumination of solar lights. Owners of retail outlets, patent medicine stores, black-market fuel sellers etc have extended their business hours towards midnight. Since the installation of the lights, both the young and old; women, men and the youths have continued to pour encomium, prayers and blessings upon the Onyeka’s. “I have seen the solar energy lights, it is a commendable feat by our brother Calistus, and I pray to God to bless you. I am happy with what I have seen. I love this. I appeal to others to emulate him”, said Mr. Okere Bonaventure, a retired civil servant. On his part as a retired civil servant, Mr. Okere Bonaventure has made it one of his yearly acts of philanthropy by providing 9 bags of 50kg of rice to the village every December. This he has done without qualms for three years. Ever since he began this, his people have not hidden their appreciation or thanks. This piece will not be complete without capturing the free medical services that was carried out by a US based illustrious son of Umuaku, who goes by the name Peter Izuwa Nwaorgu, alongside his wife - Pamele. In May 2021, tens and hundreds of thousands of Umuodagu Ntu people benefited from their free medical outreach or programme. The medical outreach/service witnessed free supply of multivitamins, antibiotics, pain medications and eye glasses for those with vision problems. “Basically, we supplied multivitamins, antibiotics, and pain medications. We also screened/tested people for diabetes, Hep A & B, HIV, hypertension, and vision. Those who were diagnosed with diabetes were given diabetic meds. Those who were diagnosed with HTN were given antihypertensive drugs. Some with vision problems were given glasses”, Mr. Peter said A free medical service which was commendably praised, hailed and discussed at the time not only in Umuodagu Ntu community, but also in Amala, Eziama, Umuneche and Elelem communities, was said to be a huge feat, given the numerous number of people that benefited from it and their testimonies. Mr. Benjamin Izuwa Nwaorgu on his own part, having seen the dilapidated nature of a major road that passed through Umuocham Ntu to Umuaku, considered it necessary in 2022 and gave the road a facelift by grading it. A cheerful giver, he in December 2021, in the spirit of the festive season donated one cow and assorted drinks to his people in Umuaku. These charitable or rather philanthropic gestures of the above mentioned illustrious individuals need not be unrecorded, that is the reason I have decided to capture such for posterity and reference purposes. Peter puts it this way: "But sanctify the Lord GOD in your hearts and be ready to give an answer to every man that asketh you a reason of the hope that is in you, with meekness and fear" (1 Pet.3:15). To the Colossians, Paul said: Let your speech be always with grace seasoned with salt, that ye may know how to answer every man" (Col.4:6). Today, many have become disenchanted, not only with religious forms which originated in Europe in the Middle Ages, but also with the indigenous ones in Nigeria within the last century (1900s). To several people, these are irrelevant and meaningless. We hear of the displeasure of many people with denominational structure and their pronouncement in the mass media, especially radio and television. Because of this aspect of modern day religion, some have decided that if this is what Christianity represents, they do not want it! However, we are of the considered view that they have so decided because they are not sufficiently acquainted with the Scriptures to be able to distinguish between the relevant Gospel of Christ and what men have added to religion since, and which are not relevant to serving GOD. On the other hand, there are people who upon first visit to the services of the Churches of Christ are rather amazed that there are no instruments of music or choirs. It is also amazing to others that the Lord's Supper is observed every Sunday and that the preacher is not addressed as 'Reverend' or 'Pastor' or 'General Overseer', and that no tithe is collected but that Christians are only exhorted to give willingly and cheerfully as they have been prospered on every first day of the week. If some of these things have troubled you and you have been wondering why these things are so, or you are yearning for a return to the simple uncomplicated religion of Christ, or wondering why churches are so different, then with all humility and fear of GOD, we give these answers: We are a group of people who do not lay claim to sinless perfection (1Jhn.1:8-10). Rather, we believe we should give diligence to make our calling and election sure (2Pet. 1:10; Phil. 2:12; 1Cor. 10:12; 1Pet.4:17-18). We believe and teach that the Bible is the revelation of the will of GOD, and that any man in any pulpit should speak as the oracles of GOD (1Pet. 4:11). That the Old Testament was given to predict the coming of Christ, the Savior of mankind and to govern the jews until Christ came (Gen. 49:10; Isa. 53; Zech. 6:13; Gal. 3:19; 23-24). And now that Christ has come, we are no longer under the old testament (Gal. 3:25; Acts.13:38-39; Heb.7:11-14; 10;9) We believe no man has the right to change the pattern GOD has given for HIS Church (Heb. 8:5; Gen. 6:14; 21-22; Exo. 25: 8-9; 40:16). Sadly, however, we notice that there is no single pattern about the Church of our Lord Jesus Christ, as described in the New Testament which has not been changed by religious bodies. This is something that is causing us to weep as we are fearful for their salvation. Christ says, 'why call ye me Lord, Lord and do not the things which I say?'(Lk.6:46). Moreover, He declares, 'Not everyone that saith unto me Lord, Lord shall enter into the Kingdom of Heaven, but he that doeth the will of my FATHER which is in Heaven..'(Matt.7:21-23). We are a group that do not recognize any other person as the head of the church other than Jesus Christ (Eph.1:22-23; Col. 1:15-18). He is the builder of the church (Matt. 16:18). He is also the foundation (Psa.127:1; Matt. 15:13-14; 1Cor.3:11). But every human denomination has its head, sometimes called the 'Spiritual head', or its 'founder',or 'General Overseer'. We are a people whose only appeal and message is the Gospel of Christ. Like the early disciples of Christ, our appeal is not social or recreational. We offer the Gospel of Christ to a troubled world for it is GOD'S Power to save (Rom.1:16). Any other appeal is beneath us 'for after that in the wisdom of GOD, the world by wisdom knew not GOD, it pleased GOD by the foolishness of preaching to save them that believe' (1Cor. 1:21). And by the way "for what is a man profiteth, if he shall gain the whole world and lose his own soul or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul?' (Matt.16:26). The Gospel is full and complete (2Tim. 3:16-17). It is once for all delivered to the saints (Jude:3). It leaves no room for addition or subtraction (Gal.1:6-9; 1Cor. 4:6; 2Jhn.9-11; Rev. 22:18-19). We are a group who worship according to the New Testament pattern in 'Spirit and in Truth' (Jhn.4:23-24). Following the pattern of worship of the early Christians, our worship of GOD is something to participate in, not something to watch. On the first day of the week which is Sunday, we gather around the Lord's table to partake of the Lord's Supper and hear preaching (Acts.20:7; 1Cor. 11:23-29). In this sacred observance, there is no class distinction. Unlike what obtains in human denominations, there is no 'confirmation' or 'right hand of fellowship' (Acts. 2:42). The elements of the Lord's Supper are unleavened bread and fruit of the vine which are symbols of Christ's body and blood (Matt. 26:26-29). There is no room for the doctrine of 'transubstantiation'. The preaching that is done is directly from the word of GOD, not from any catechism or manual or from a book written by men (1Pet.4:11). We share our mutual responsibilities by sharing our prosperity and contributions are made on no other day than the first day of the week, Sunday (1Cor. 16:12). Incidentally, no hierachy could tax the children of GOD or tell them how much to give. We give as we individually have purposed in our hearts (2Cor.9:6-7). No room for tithing, 'Seed of faith', 'harvest' or other various money-raising schemes devised by men. We do not solicit for contributions from non-members; neither do we attempt to raise funds by other methods not mentioned in the scriptures. We sing without the accompaniment of musical instruments (Eph.5:19; Col.3:16). It might interest you to know that it was not until 600 years after the close of the New Testament that instrumental music was first introduced by men into Christian worship. Thus, musical instruments were not part of the original pattern of Christianity. We all pray with various ones leading (1Cor.14:15-16; 23:26-33). In all of these, every Christian is necessarily involved for each person is a priest (1Pet.2:5-9; Rev.1:5-6). No one can perform his service or worship for him. Women, however are under divine injunction to be under submission in public worship (1Cor.14:34-35; 1Tim.2;11-15) We are a group of Christians that adhere to the simple organisational structure given by GOD for HIS Church. for as the Gospel spread in the first century, we find Christians assembling together in congregations in various localities. Each local church was autonomous, that is, self governing under its own elders (Acts14:23) and no one else on earth. Elders or Presbyters in the New Testament times were synonymously called overseers, superintendents or Bishops, Pastors or Shepherds (Acts.20:17; 28; Tit. 1:5,7). Under the oversight of these elders were Deacons who served as special servants of the church (Phil.1:1). The New Testament is very clear that each organization then had a plurality of these officers, not a plurality of churches under the supervision of one Bishop as it is found in denominations of men today (Acts.14:23; 20:17; Phil.1:1; 1Pet.5;1-3). Moreover, these Bishops (a plurality in every local church) could not make laws or be masters. They were given the responsibility of lending and caring for the congregation as shepherds would a flock (Acts.20:17, 28:1, 1Pet.5:1-3). Unlike the denominations of men with their headquarters in various cities like Rome, London, Lagos, Imeko, Ibadan or Ilesa; the only headquarters we know as members of the Church of Christ is Heaven, where our head, Jesus Christ is (Eph.1:22-23). This is the simple organizational pattern we find in the New Testament and this is how faithful churches of Christ are organized today. As you might have noticed, we do not call our preacher 'pastor' unless he has been appointed to serve with other qualified men as one of the elders of the congregation. In that case, he would be 'a' pastor not 'the' pastor. Our preachers do not wear glorified titles like 'Doctor', 'Reverend' or 'Father' because Christ has commanded us, 'be not ye called Rabbi, for one is your Master, even Christ and all ye are brethren....call no man father upon the earth for no one is your FATHER which is in Heaven (Matt. 23:8-10). Faithful churches of Christ do not have women elders, women deacons or lady evangelists because the pattern GOD has given does 'not permit a woman to teach or usurp authority over the man' (1Tim.2:11-12) We are a people with a plea; let us return to the New Testament pattern of doing things. Let us be what the early Christians were and simply Christians (Acts.11:26; 26:28; 1Pet.4:16). The Christians in the New Testament wore no sectarian names. Their religion was not sensual or materialistic. They sought to impress GOD with the only thing that has ever impressed HIM, which is contrite obedience (1Sam.15:22). Let us do away with sectarian names and creeds, knowing they foster divisions (1Cor.1:10-13; 3:1-9; Phil.3:16). We desire the simplicity of what Christ authored. What is important is that a group of such people meet within minutes of where you live. They are located at 44 Laditoun street, Iju station, Lagos. They worship and serve GOD in the same way the early Christians did. Christ is their only creed and the Scriptures is their only guide. They are not members of any denomination. They are simply a congregation or church of Christ. They would like to share Christ with you and the entire world. You too can be a Christian and serve GOD without belonging to any denomination of man, bound by no denominational laws or obligations. To be a Christian, upon hearing GOD'S Word, you must believe (Rom.10:10. Heb.11:6; Mark.16:16). You must repent and turn away from sin (Acts.2:38; 3:19). You must confess Christ as the son of GOD (Rom.10;9-10). my sixth resolution is to walk more closely with God than ever before this year. The Bible says in James 4:8 that if you draw near to God, He will draw near to you. Our God is not a touch-and-go God; He is a God who wants you to abide in Him (John 15:4-7). Some of us are Sunday-Sunday Christians; we go to church only on Sundays, and it is only then that we read our Bibles and pray. The Almighty God wants you to be close to Him, to draw nearer to Him each day. This year, like never before, I am going to draw close to God and ensure He is by my side daily. I have discovered from experience that there are problems you can solve with your efforts in a year, two years or even ten years, but if you draw near to God, He can solve them in minutes! I studied for my PhD at the University of Lagos. To get a PhD in Mathematics, you must solve a problem nobody has solved before. Being a problem nobody has solved before, nobody knows whether it has a solution, and they don’t give you a PhD for trying but for solving the problem. So, I began to work out the details of the problem I chose, and eventually, I ended up with 186 simultaneous equations! I had been working on the problem for 18 months and didn’t know what to do next. One night, after struggling with the equations till around 10pm, I decided to go and sleep. I, however, decided to study the Bible before going to bed, and I studied Exodus 14:21-28 – the crossing of the Red Sea, and God suddenly spoke to me. He said, “son, go and bring your mathematics problems.” He began to guide me step by step to put the equations into two different groups – one on the right and the other on the left. Suddenly, I saw something I had not seen before. All the equations on the right had something in common, and all the ones on the left had another thing in common. Then the Lord spoke to me, “Solve the ones on the left together, the ones on the right together, and then bring the two together.” In five hours, I finished the problem I had been tackling for 18 months! KJV Good morning dear friends, I welcome you to the new year, I pray that God will be our strength and help this year in Jesus name. Every man born into this world who has the ability to speak can be understood and described by what s/he says. There are many ways someone can be described, a person can be described by what others who are not close to him or her say about the person, although this may not be an accurate description but it may give us a glimpse about the person. Matthew 16:13-14: When Jesus came to the region of Caesarea Philippi, he asked his disciples, “Who do people say that the son of Man is?” [14]“Well,” they replied, “some say John the Baptist, some say Elijah, and others say Jeremiah or one of the other prophets.” NLT. Also, a person can be described by what people who are close to him or her say about the person. Matthew 16:15-16: Then he asked them, “But who do you say I am?” [16]Simon Peter answered, “You are the Messiah, the son of the living God.” NLT. However, the best form of description of someone is through what the person says about him or herself. No one can describe a person better than him or herself unless the person is lying. The person we are trying to know today is our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, the people who did not know him could not describe him and his disciples could not describe him adequately. Matthew 12:22-26: Then a demon-possessed man, who was blind and couldn’t speak, was brought to Jesus. He healed the man so that he could both speak and see. [23]The crowd was amazed and asked, “Could it be that Jesus is the son of David, the Messiah?” [24]But when the Pharisees heard about the miracle, they said, “No wonder he can cast out demons. He gets his power from Satan, the prince of demons.” [25]Jesus knew their thoughts and replied, “Any kingdom divided by civil war is doomed. A town or family splintered by feuding will fall apart. [26]And if Satan is casting out Satan, he is divided and fighting against himself. His own kingdom will not survive. NLT. Mark 4:39-40: When Jesus woke up, he rebuked the wind and said to the waves, “Silence! Be still!” Suddenly the wind stopped, and there was a great calm. [40]Then he asked them, “Why are you afraid? Do you still have no faith?” NLT. However, Jesus who was one hundred percent God in man described himself perfectly during his earthly ministry. John 8:58-59: Jesus answered, “I tell you the truth, before Abraham was even born, i am!” [59]At that point they picked up stones to throw at him. But Jesus was hidden from them and left the Temple. NLT. John 14:6: Jesus told him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one can come to the Father except through me. NLT. Now that Jesus has perfectly described himself, we need to pay attention to some of the last things he said as his word can be taken to be true. In Mark 16:15, Jesus who had described himself as God, gave believers the instruction of going into all of the world preaching the gospel to every soul. The thing is the death and resurrection of Jesus is a seed planted in order to yield more harvest. John 12:24-26: I tell you the truth, unless a kernel of wheat is planted in the soil and dies, it remains alone. But its death will produce many new kernels—a plentiful harvest of new lives. [25]Those who love their life in this world will lose it. Those who care nothing for their life in this world will keep it for eternity. [26]Anyone who wants to serve me must follow me, because my servants must be where I am. And the Father will honor anyone who serves me. NLT. As a result, we have the mandate of spreading the gospel to everyone in order to bring them into the fold. This is the gospel, that anyone who believes that Jesus Christ is Lord has eternal life. Therefore, it is our mandate to go into all the lands of the earth and preach to every human, the scope of our evangelism is to all of the earth, the message is Jesus, the reward is multiple souls in the kingdom of God. Amen. As we begin 2024, let it be at the back of our minds that Jesus is the message and we must spread his message to the rest of the world. As we do this, God will back up our witnessing up with incredible power for healing, miracles, signs and wonders. Mark 16:17-18. Therefore, if you are reading this and you have not given your life to Christ, consider this as God’s invitation to you and I urge you to do so by saying this prayer wholeheartedly; Lord Jesus, I confess you as my Lord and saviour today, please save me and be my lord and bring me into your fold. Amen. If you have recited the prayer wholeheartedly, I congratulate you and I welcome you to the family of God. Make sure you join a bible believing church as you start your journey in Christ. Beloved Nlander please I need your opinion on this issue that is shaking my home,my wife and I belong to the Christian faith but we disagree in some things mostly speaking in tongues,I believe speaking in tongues most be influenced by the Holy Spirit not one just blabbing by oneself ,but she believe otherwise that you don’t have to wait for the Holy Spirit one just has to be saying words anyhow,she is that type that pray and fast often and listen and pray along side some pastors online,I don’t have issue with that,where the issue is now. I told her when praying alongside these pastors and watching testimonies,she should not allow our 7years old son to be with her,she was surprised and angry ,she asked why,if I don’t want our son to know how to pray,and also hear testimonies of God’s miracles?I told her not that,i believe in prayers and miracles,4year ago I was hit by chronic disease,I prayed and I was healed,I mean I prayed myself not involving any Pastor,I told her the reason is the boy is too tender to be see some graphic pictures of ppl who say they had so so disease,later they received healing,and hearing name of diseases,problems and all that sort,and watching how these online Pastors praying ,saying one word and say ten unknown words ,children practise more of what they see than hear,Itold her I can’t withstand my 7years old mimicking the Holy Spirit because he watch a Pastor praying that way.she said there nothing wrong if the kid speaks in tongues I told her no,when the boy was 6 she said he is old enough to be baptised I said no .Now she sees me as a devil that I have been hindering her spiritual growth she regretted marrying me.please my ppl advise me. 2 Likes |
