Family / Different View,my Wife Is Seeing Me As A Devil by exnovio(m): 4:55pm On Jan 04
Beloved Nlander please I need your opinion on this issue that is shaking my home,my wife and I belong to the Christian faith but we disagree in some things mostly speaking in tongues,I believe speaking in tongues most be influenced by the Holy Spirit not one just blabbing by oneself ,but she believe otherwise that you don’t have to wait for the Holy Spirit one just has to be saying words anyhow, she is that type that pray and fast often and listen and pray along side some pastors online,I don’t have issue with that, where the issue is now.
I told her when praying alongside these pastors and watching testimonies, she should not allow our 7years old son to be with her,she was surprised and angry ,she asked why,if I don’t want our son to know how to pray, and also hear testimonies of God’s miracles?I told her not that,i believe in prayers and miracles,4year ago I was hit by chronic disease,I prayed and I was healed,I mean I prayed myself not involving any Pastor,I told her the reason is the boy is too tender to be see some graphic pictures of ppl who say they had so so disease, later they received healing, and hearing name of diseases, problems and all that sort, and watching how these online Pastors praying ,saying one word and say ten unknown words ,children practise more of what they see than hear,Itold her I can’t withstand my 7years old mimicking the Holy Spirit because he watch a Pastor praying that way.she said there nothing wrong if the kid speaks in tongues I told her no,when the boy was 6 she said he is old enough to be baptised I said no .Now she sees me as a devil that I have been hindering her spiritual growth she regretted marrying me.please my ppl advise me.

Politics / Breaking: Tears In Anambra Community, As Family Buries Slain Youth Leader by uchizzy4life(m): 12:12pm On Jan 04
In Anambra: 28th December Declared Afunwaelotanna Remembrance Days As The Remains Of The Late Prince Is Laid To Rest In Oraifite.

By Ndife David, Awka.

It was a black Christmas for the people of Ifite-Oraifite as their entire plans for a joyful festivity and merry Christmas celebrations was rather brought to a sad halt as the remains of Late Prince Harrison Ndubuisi Around(Afunwaelotanna) is committed to mother earth in his hometown in Uruezeakwa Umunakwa, Ifite-Oraifite in Ekwusigo local government area of Anambra State.

Recall that the late afunwa was reportedly kidnapped on the 31st of july 2021 on the course of active duty during a sanitation exercise in oraifite community and recent investigations revealed that he was subsequently killed by his abductors.

Speaking during a funeral service held in his compound, the lead pastor, Dunamis International Gospel Centre, Onitsha Central, Pastor Austin Ajigi who spoke extensively on the need to revere the sacredness and value of life urge the people to ensure that they live their life in order to glorify God and serve humanity.

He emphasized on the importance of sowing the right seed in order to obtain good report on earth and eternal life with christ in the world to come.

He noted that his legacy of love and faith will continue to inspire the church to carry on with the work of God and admonished the family to bear the irreparable and pray that God grants the late Youth Leader rest in the peace of the lord.

In a condolence message, the president general, asatu youth wing, comr. Ken okoli while expressing his bitterness and displeasure over the unfortunate incident stated that ASATU Youth will continue to asked the people of Oraifite, "Where is Afunwaelotanna?" He maintained that they will not relent in their quest for answers leading to his death until justice is meted out to the perpetrators of the crime.

He described the late Prince Ndubuisi as a great leader, a perfect gentleman and a super comrade who took the affairs of Anambra youths to heart and was ever committed to empowering and developing the youths through timely contributions in ASATU Youth activities and programs.

He urge the Oraifite youths, Ekwusigo, Anambra and all over the world to join them in asking the question: Where is Comrade Harrison Ndubuisi Aronu? and added that every 31st July, the Anambra community youths all over the world will jointly continue to ask the same question and until they get the expected answer they will not say rest in peace until the pepetrators are brought to book.

Also speaking, the President General, Oraifite, Hon. Vin Dike in his brief message described Ndubuisi as a visionary and innovative leader whose passion and selfless dedication to the growth and development of Oraifite youths was evident in various initiatives he spearheaded for the betterment of Oraifite and beyond and assured that all hands is already on deck to bring the pepetrators to justice.

On his part, the State Chairman of Oraifite Youths Association, Mr. Iloezuonu Chiameka affirmed that OYA is a living testimony of the benefits of the hard work of the Afunwa, noting that as a gallant soldier and worthy compatriot, the late youth leader has touched so many lives by his selfless and countless act of kindness and and noted that the path he created in building the youth of his community can not be erased on the annals of Oraifite youths.

He prayed that God will give his wife, children, mother, brothers and the entire Oraifite community the fortitude to bear the loss.

The younger brother to the deceased, Franklin Osy Aronu Junior stated that their heart is damaged and serverely broken as they are consumed in grief and sorrow at the lost of one of their devoted son, brother and also father whose unwavering commitment to the good and wellbeing of the family mirrored the strength and resilience of their late father.

He pointed that the late Nwa Paciotti as he was fondly called stood as a beacon of strength and hope for the family, fighting for the common good of all and noted that his absence has left an indelible void in their lives as Ndubuisi was indeed a remarkable soul.

He appreciated all who had come to show concern and commitment and sympathize with the family and shared in the their moment of grief and pain. He equally thanked those who had supported the family financially, through prayers and encouragement for their presence and also pray that God will reward them abundantly and grant them journey mercy as they go back to their various destination.

Religion / Persecution Phase 2 by TVTM2023: 4:03pm On Jan 01
Persecution Phase 2
Christians all over the world, welcome to the New year 2024.
The lord Jesus Christ be with you as we weather through this year.
However,it is important to know why you are a Christian and what you are about to face to determine the test of your faith.
One of such things which is PERSECUTION.
Jesus Christ told his disciples and adherents ,the world hated him before it hates them.

One form of PERSECUTION among the listed is Hatred.

Hatred creates foes, enmity, revenge and vengeance and strife.

HATRED:John 15:18 If the world hate you, ye know that it hated me before it hated you.
The world would hate you because of the name of Jesus Christ!
Luke 21:17 And ye shall be hated of all men for my name's sake.
John 17:14 I have given them thy word; and the world hath hated them, because they are not of the world, even as I am not of the world.
The world would hate the true light because it loves darkness.

Hatred also will exist in the family once you confess Jesus Christ as your lord and savior!
Those who do not accept your faith will hate you and become your foes.
Persecution therefore is worse in the family before it spreads outside in the world.
Psalms 55:12 for it was not an enemy that reproached me; then I could have borne it: neither was it he that hated me that did magnify himself against me; then I would have hid myself from him:
Matthew 10:36 And a man's foes shall be they of his own household.
Just as Jesus Christ is hated because the world doesn't know GOD,SO ALSO they will hate christians .
John 15:24 If I had not done among them the works which none other man did, they had not had sin: but now have they both seen and hated both me and my Father..

Matthew 24:9 Then shall they deliver you up to be afflicted, and shall kill you: and ye shall be hated of all nations for my name's sake.
24:10 And then shall many be offended, and shall betray one another, and shall hate one another.

2) BLACK MAIL-BLACK mail is the modern word for the ancient biblical terms of the terrible sins of slander, gossiping, evil speaking, false witness, accusations, and backbiting.
It is also means contradictory statements ,revilment and heinous blabbing against the christians.
It is Satan's own way of trying to dampen ones faith.
It also refers to draconian decrees that are targeted at only christians under disguise.
Revelation 12:15 And the serpent cast out of his mouth water as a flood after the woman, that he might cause her to be carried away of the flood.
While such flood can cause one to be carried away, one must be careful to stand by what God says about them.
Revelation 12:16 And the earth helped the woman, and the earth opened her mouth, and swallowed up the flood which the dragon cast out of his mouth.
The Sanhedrin in Christ time leveled a great false accusations against Christ and also hired false witnesses to accuse Christ.
Jesus Christ kept silence waiting for God to defend him.
So it is and christians must also wait for God's defence.
Mark 15:3 And the chief priests accused him of many things: but he answered nothing.
This shocked the Sanhedrin .
When these blackmail begins,we are not meant to speak in our defense but allow the Holy spirit to defend us by him speaking in us.
Mark 13:11 But when they shall lead you, and deliver you up, take no thought beforehand what ye shall speak, neither do ye premeditate: but whatsoever shall be given you in that hour, that speak ye: for it is not ye that speak, but the Holy Ghost.
This time is coming soon.
As the great tribulation has begun blackmail will also be the way of the beast government against the christians.
It will be the media war against the saints and it will be effective.
Revelation 13:7 And it was given unto him to make war with the saints, and to overcome them: and power was given him over all kindreds, and tongues, and nations.
It is important for us to just trust in God to save us from the evil temptations coming all over the world.
Jesus on the cross endured harsh and mean horrible words.
Hebrews 12:3 for consider him that endured such contradiction of sinners against himself, lest ye be wearied and faint in your minds.
Mark 15:32 Let Christ the King of Israel descend now from the cross, that we may see and believe. And they that were crucified with him reviled him.

1 Peter 2:23 Who, when he was reviled, reviled not again; when he suffered, he threatened not; but committed himself to him that judgeth righteously:
Jesus Christ was called many names.eg prince of devil's aka Beelzebub, a bastard,a deceiver and so on.

MATYRDOM- This is the end of the life on earth of any Christian that kept their faith until death by any other means than natural.
Martyrdom is the price a Christian pays for his or her faith.
It is the choice one makes for faith over their life.
Jesus Christ promised that if anyone loosed his life for his sake,he shall find it.
Luke 17:33 Whosoever shall seek to save his life shall lose it; and whosoever shall lose his life shall preserve it.
This is possible because eternal life is an immortal life free from mortal flesh.
Stephen was the first mature who was killed for his faith.
Jess Christ the son of God was crucified!
He was stoned to death.
Apostle Paul was beheaded.
Many of the lords apostles died violent death.
Today ,MATYRDOM has become modernized by various means.
Some are burnt alive, some dismembered, some are decapitated, some crushed, some pushed to their deaths.
Terrorism has been the long tool of Christian MATYRDOM in our modern world.
Jesus Christ response to TERRORISM IS THIS
Matthew 5:44 But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you; Luke
6:35 But love ye your enemies, and do good, and lend, hoping for nothing again; and your reward shall be great, and ye shall be the children of the Highest: for he is kind unto the unthankful and to the evil.
Jesus Christ spoke of the mind of a terrorists about them not really knowing truly who God is or Jesus Christ!
John 16:2 They shall put you out of the synagogues: yea, the time cometh, that whosoever killeth you will think that he doeth God service.
John 16:3 And these things will they do unto you, because they have not known the Father, nor me.
Terrorists do not know the true God and Jesus Christ his son.
Christians on the other hands act defenseless because it is a commandment of Christ.
Romans 8:36 As it is written, for thy sake we are killed all the day long; we are accounted as sheep for the slaughter.

There was saul who was a judaists of that time and he advanced more in Judaism.
This man was a serial killer,a murderer and and assassin who killed christians at any chance and arrested them.
Saul thought he was serving the true God ,until he came across Jesus Christ at Damascus and asked who art thou lord?
Acts 22:8 And I answered, Who art thou, Lord? And he said unto me, I am Jesus of Nazareth, whom thou persecutest.

Saul who was once a blasphemer,a sweater and a killer obtained mercy from Jesus Christ and became a minister of the gospel .
So it is right now.
What shall seperate us from the love of Christ?
Tribulation is the term word for all Christian suffering.
Jesus Christ told his disciples,in the world, they would have tribulation but they should be of Good cheer.
John 16:33 These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.
A Christian will get to a point that he or she would not love his or her life UNTO THE DEATH!
Revelation 12:11 And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death.
In the face of persecution, don't fear those who can kill your body .
Fear only God who can kill both body and soul and cast it into hellfire.
Luke 12:5 But I will forewarn you whom ye shall fear: Fear him, which after he hath killed hath power to cast into hell; yea, I say unto you, Fear him.
A terrorist who kills by the sword ,will also die by the sword.
Jesus Christ promises a crown of life to those who die for his name sake.
Revelation 2:10 Fear none of those things which thou shalt suffer: behold, the devil shall cast some of you into prison, that ye may be tried; and ye shall have tribulation ten days: be thou faithful unto death, and I will give thee a crown of life.
Once again ,Happy New year.

Religion / It Is Well. by AbundantLife05: 6:06am On Dec 31, 2023
ABUNDANT LIFE VISION
It Is Well. 1 Kings 5:4
But now the lord my God has given me peace on every side; I have no enemies, and all is well. NLT.

Good morning dear friends, I am happy for how far God has helped us this year, I am grateful to God for the incredible teachings we have been exposed to this year and I pray that the Holy Spirit will give us more revelations for our all-round growth and dominion in Jesus name. Also, I pray for every one reading this teaching that in the year 2024 God will be with us and be our shield in Jesus name.

At the beginning of the year, the Lord started with us by telling us that no weapon fashioned against us shall prosper and the last word He is sending to us is “It is well”. What does it mean to say it is well? It is well means to have peace on every side and to be without enemies. When there is war on every side regarding someone’s life and s/he has enemies all-round him/her, such person cannot be said to be at peace or said that it is well with such person. 1 Kings 5:4: But now the lord my God has given me peace on every side; I have no enemies, and all is well. NLT. It is the will of God that we experience peace on all sides. John 14:27: “I am leaving you with a gift—peace of mind and heart. And the peace I give is a gift the world cannot give. So don’t be troubled or afraid. NLT. The peace of God ensures that we are not troubled or afraid on all sides of our lives, when such happens, we can say that it is well with us.

Then next question is how do we get the peace of God captured as it is well? Isaiah 3:10: Tell the godly that all will be well for them. They will enjoy the rich reward they have earned! NLT. The bible says “tell the godly that all will be well for them”, the key to having peace all-round is to belong to God. This peace can only be gotten by belonging to Jesus Christ. Acts of the Apostles 4:11-12: for Jesus is the one referred to in the Scriptures, where it says, ‘The stone that you builders rejected has now become the cornerstone.’ [12]There is salvation in no one else! God has given no other name under heaven by which we must be saved.” NLT. Isaiah 9:6-7: for a child is born to us, A son is given to us. The government will rest on his shoulders. And he will be called: Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. [7]His government and its peace will never end. He will rule with fairness and justice from the throne of his ancestor David for all eternity. The passionate commitment of the lord of Heaven’s Armies will make this happen! NLT.

The last question is what is this peace all about? The word peace in John 14:27 is “eirene”, it has lots of meanings. The first is a state of natural tranquility, this means that there is an exception from rage and havoc of war. Secondly, it is peace between individuals. Thirdly, it is security, safety, prosperity, and felicity. The fourth meaning is the peace we get by belonging to Jesus. The fifth is our assurance that we are rooted in Christ, while the last one is the blessed state of upright men after their death. Therefore, when we talk about peace, we are referring to the points discussed above. These points can be provided by God. He can give us both spiritual and physical aspects of peace as peace can be both spiritual and physical.

All in all, peace is found in God through Christ and if you are yet to give your life to Christ, I urge you to do so now and enjoy his peace by saying this prayer wholeheartedly; Lord Jesus, I confess you as my Lord and saviour today, please save me and be my lord and bring me into your fold. Amen. If you have recited the prayer wholeheartedly, I congratulate you and I welcome you to the family of God. Make sure you join a bible believing church as you start your journey in Christ.

God bless you.
Religion / Prayer Points Satan Fears When You May Pray by PCHC(m): 9:46am On Dec 26, 2023
THE FIRST BOOK OF ADAM AND EVE
1 ADAM+EVE 33

1 BUT Satan, the hater of all good, sought them in the cave, but he did not find them, although he searched diligently for them.

Satan the Devil has always been the hater and the seeker of the good ones. The Devil's hatred does not keep him from seeking or searching even the people or things he hate. Not like some people, who's hatred keeps them from seeking, from searching or from even caring about where or what those they hate are doing or going. The Devil is like a hater or adversary who likes to stick around like a friend though he's an enemy: sometimes it appears like receiving the devil as friends is pleasurable and gainful, but resisting him as enemy when he seeks is as suffering afflictions.

[1 Peter 5:8-9] — "Be sober-minded and alert. Your adversary the devil prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour. Resist him, standing firm in your faith and in the knowledge that your brothers throughout the world are undergoing the same kinds of suffering."

In the top context, Satan diligently sought Adam and Eve with hatred in his heart; and infact, the hater visited their home (the cave) looking for them as if he's a concerned neighbor. They were neither on the mountain, down the valley/cave nor on the land; but where in the sea.

2 But he found them standing in the water praying and thought within himself, "Adam and Eve are thus standing in that water beseeching God to forgive them their transgression, and to restore them to their former estate, and to take them from under my hand.

When the Devil finds you praying fervently like this, thoughts or fears do come up within him, even as you read in this verse above. Three of the prayer points he fears most are the ones his thoughts assumed Adam and Eve were praying in the verse above:

1 Praying for God's Forgiveness of your sin, and asking for God's mercy: This is one of the most fearful prayer points the devil fears you or any sinner would be praying. It means you've confessed, admitted and forsaken your sins before God in self conviction, and the Devil can no longer use those sins as accusations against you when he comes as your Accuser before God. And when God forgives your sins Satan loses his legal cases or power over you. Sin is gives both Satan and Death legal or lawful power over the sinner.

[1 Corinthians 15:56] — "The sting of death is sin; and the strength of sin is the law."

2 Praying for God's reconciliation or restoration of you into your former estate or position with God before you backslided or fell into sin: This is one of the most fearful prayer points the devil fears you or any fallen/separated man from God would be praying. This means you are not being prodigal son or prodigal person anymore, but have recovered your senses and your seeking back your place/position with the Father above seeking any other opportunities the devil offers: the devil has wasted his investments in you, and is no longer able to lead you away from the Father and the estate he once tried to lead you away from. And when God grants you that prayer request it would mean taking you out of the devil's domain, out of the world, out of the realms where the devil thrives, and bringing you into the heavens where Christ is sited at the Right Hand of God far above where the devil can reach. It also means restoring to you the Joy of salvation and the right Spirit of God.

The devil fears you may be praying the prayers of "Psalms 51."

3 Praying for God's Deliverance from the hands or powers of Satan and his darkness: This is one of the most fearful prayer points the devil fears you or any of his captive/slave/prisoner would be praying. Especially when you are initiated into him in cultism, in ritual, in covenant, in curse, in brotherhood, in oath of allegiance/pledge, in marriage, in fornication or in idolatry: and you seeking to be delivered or extracted from devil's hands by your requesting foreign Powers and foreign Kingdom to come and take you by you entering into a new covenant with the foreign Kingdom/Powers that supercedes those of Satan's powers with or over you. The devil sees you praying for God's Deliverance as your betrayal against him; and sometimes his penalty for those seeking to leave any his groups (and be converted into another faith or freedom) is death. But when God grants deliverance to whoever calls upon the Name of the Lord for the Lord's Deliverance, that man or woman shall be saved or delivered by the name of the Lord whom he or she has called upon, irrespective of any existing covenant, agreement, initiation, or bonds, with any of Satan's powers or groups: The Devil will lose that person who called upon the Lord Jesus Christ for deliverance or salvation, and the Lord Jesus Christ will gain that person and soul because "Jesus Christ is Mighty to Save, and whomever He sets free is free indeed."

Sing this song with me:

Savior, He can move the mountains; our God is Mighty to save, He is Mighty to save: Forever He's Author of Salvation…

One of the reasons He is "Mighty" is "To Save:" As it is written,

[Isaiah 63:1] — "Who is this that comes from Edom, with dyed garments from Bozrah? this that is glorious in His apparel, traveling in the greatness of His strength? It is I that speak in righteousness, I am Mighty to save."

Why should the Lord be Mighty if He cannot or would not save? As it is written,

[Jeremiah 14:9] — "Why are You like a man taken by surprise, like a mighty man that do not save? Yet You are among us, O LORD, and we are called by Your name. Do not forsake us!"

Behold, the name "Jesus" or "Joshua" means "Savior" or "Deliverer." Whoever calls upon the Name of the Lord shall be saved (delivered).

Merry Christmas to all the people of Anambra Central Senatorial District and to all the people of Anambra State, to ndị Igbo all over the world and Nigerians in general.

This is a season of great joy; when we remember the birth of Christ Jesus who came to the world from his heavenly abode, became man and died for us on the cross in the end. That is the basis of our salvation. With that, He restored hope to humanity, and at each time we remember and commemorate His birth and His coming into the world, we rejoice because He has come to set all of us free from captivity. When we remember that, we continue to give praises to God almighty for sending His only begotten son to the world for our sake, despite our sins and iniquity which He came to wash away with His blood.

We rejoice in this season. I want everybody to be happy in it. Let everybody be glad within this season.

I know that things are very difficult but we should not give up. The joy of Christmas season is enough to strengthen us and keep hope alive. Jesus will always be there for us and to provide our needs according to his riches in glory.

Merry Christmas to all of you. May God protect you within this season. May your life be preserved for you both within the season of the birth of Christ and after Christ's birth.

TOPIC: Imagine A World Without Christmas
‭‭
"Therefore the Lord Himself will give you a sign: Behold, the virgin shall conceive and bear a son, and shall call His name Immanuel." Isaiah‬ ‭7:14‬‬

Message

Christmas is all about celebrating the birth of our LORD JESUS CHRIST the Redeemer and Savior of mankind. Without Jesus coming to the earth, the world will remain in a dark and brutal state

Remember, after Lucifer, who became satan, was condemned to the earth realm following his attempts to rebel against God, it was recorded that:
‭‭
"The earth was without form, and void; and darkness was on the face of the deep." Genesis‬ ‭1:2‬‬

But it also revealed that: "The Spirit of God was hovering over the face of the waters", which is proof that God didn't ignore the world even in its unworthy state. Hence, God brought a solution to make right the wrong, "Then God said, “Let there be light”; and there was light." Genesis‬ ‭1:3‬‬

You see what happened there? GOD introduced the Word to make things beautiful again! Now, Jesus is eternally known as the Word of God (John 1), and we can see that He has an expertise in making ugly terrible situations beautiful again.

So, after the sin of Adam and Eve (our first human parents in Eden), another ugly situation arose, plunging mankind into gross darkness, filled with all manner of evil and vices. But through Jesus Christ, all things became beautiful again:

for God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. [17] for God did not send His son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved. John‬ ‭3:16‭-‬17‬ ‭NKJV‬

So, a world without Christmas meant humanity would be forever doomed and would be slaves to sin, death, hell, satan, poverty, sickness, and other negative things. But, Hallelujah! Jesus gave the victory!

Are you experiencing some ugly and terrible situations in your life, or someone close to you? Introduce Jesus, He has expertise in turning unpleasant stuff into beautiful experiences!

If you are yet to submit to the Lordship of Jesus, this season is the best time to do so. Simply pray:

"LORD JESUS, I believe in my heart that You died for me and You raised on the third day for my justification. And so I confess with my mouth that You are my Lord and Savior. From today, I belong to the family of God. Thank You for giving me eternal life."

Prayer

Whatever is unpleasant around you, ask Jesus to make things right again.

Religion / The Gift From God. by AbundantLife05: 6:10am On Dec 24, 2023
ABUNDANT LIFE VISION
The Gift from God. John 3:16
for this is how God loved the world: He gave his one and only son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life. NLT.

Good morning dear friends and I want to wish you guys a merry Christmas and a happy new year in advance. I pray that we will have a happy celebration and that God will provide for us in this hard time in Jesus name. This morning, we will talk about Jesus being the gift from God.

Let us start from here, Jesus is a gift from God to us. How is this possible? God is three in one, the Hebrew word for God is Elohim which describes God as the all powerful but it has a plural connotation. Also, when God was to make man, he said let us make man in our image, this points to the trinity consisting of the Father, the son, and thr Holy Spirit. Genesis 1:26-27: Then God said, “Let us make human beings in our image, to be like us. They will reign over the fish in the sea, the birds in the sky, the livestock, all the wild animals on the earth, and the small animals that scurry along the ground.” [27]So God created human beings in his own image. In the image of God he created them; Male and female he created them. NLT. Also, the baptism of Jesus proves that God is a three in one being. Mark 1:9-11: One day Jesus came from Nazareth in Galilee, and John baptized him in the Jordan River. [10]As Jesus came up out of the water, he saw the heavens splitting apart and the Holy Spirit descending on him like a dove. [11]And a voice from heaven said, “You are my dearly loved son, and you bring me great joy.” NLT. The trinity consists of three equal beings who functions as one through love. Philippians 2:5-11: You must have the same attitude that Christ Jesus had. [6]Though he was God, he did not think of equality with God as something to cling to. [7]Instead, he gave up his divine privileges; he took the humble position of a slave and was born as a human being. When he appeared in human form, [8]he humbled himself in obedience to God and died a criminal’s death on a cross. [9]Therefore, God elevated him to the place of highest honor and gave him the name above all other names, [10]that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, [11]and every tongue declare that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father. NLT.

On this note, the trinity consists of three beings who occupy three positions with distinct responsibilities. The position occupied by Jesus Christ is the position of the Word which is associated with being the deliverer and the one who goes out to represent the Godhead in a bodily form. We have examples of Melchizedek and the fourth man in the fire. Psalms 107:20: He sent out his word and healed them, snatching them from the door of death. NLT. The Spirit of God is in charge of power, setting up a relationship with men, and searching the deep things of God. Acts of the Apostles 1:8: But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes upon you. And you will be my witnesses, telling people about me everywhere—in Jerusalem, throughout Judea, in Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.” NLT. 1 Corinthians 2:10: But it was to us that God revealed these things by his Spirit. for his Spirit searches out everything and shows us God’s deep secrets. NLT. The Head of the trinity has the role of the leader of the trinity.Acts of the Apostles 1:6-7: So when the apostles were with Jesus, they kept asking him, “Lord, has the time come for you to free Israel and restore our kingdom?” He replied, “The Father alone has the authority to set those dates and times, and they are not for you to know. NLT.

To our topic today, God the Father gave Jesus (the member of the trinity who goes out to deliver) to us as a gift to die for our sins and set us free from the its power. Therefore, no one can clain that s/he got saved by what s/he did but righteousness is as a result of the finished work of Christ over sin and the devil which is a gift from God. John 3:16: “for this is how God loved the world: He gave his one and only son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life. NLT

All in all, the point is Jesus is a gift from God that we do not deserve. Ephesians 2:8-10: God saved you by his grace when you believed. And you can’t take credit for this; it is a gift from God. [9]Salvation is not a reward for the good things we have done, so none of us can boast about it. [10]for we are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things he planned for us long ago. NLT. As we celebrate Christmas this year, the reason for his coming should not be forgotten, rather it should be appreciated as God’s divine intervention for our souls and if you are reading this and you are yet to receive the gift of God by accepting Jesus as your Lord and Saviour, I urge you to do so now by saying this prayer wholeheartedly; Lord Jesus, I confess you as my Lord and saviour today, please save me and be my lord and bring me into your fold. Amen. If you have recited the prayer wholeheartedly, I congratulate you and I welcome you to the family of God. Make sure you join a bible believing church as you start your journey in Christ.

God bless you.
Romance / The Message To God's Children About The End Of Age. by pansophic(m): 2:00pm On Dec 21, 2023
If you're a believer, you should have heard about the coming of the Lord at these end times. As you reflect on this truth, you should understand that the prophecy of the end is true and is infact already happening now. The Lord Jesus is coming and is already at the door to receive those who are prepared for him to himself.

The Bible has prophesied the signs of which we will see before his coming, signs of which are already happening in the world today but the blinded and backsliding believer can't seem to see. Jesus himself told us plainly about what would happen at the end before his arrival and thanks to God he said it plainly without parables or illustrations.

Observe Matthew Chapter 24

As Jesus was sitting on the Mount of Olives, the disciples came to him privately. 'Tell us,' they said, 'when will this happen, and what will be the sign of your coming and of the end of the age?'

Jesus answered: 'Watch out that no one deceives you. for many will come in my name, claiming, "I am the Messiah," and will deceive many. You will hear of wars and rumors of wars, but see to it that you are not alarmed. Such things must happen, but the end is still to come. Nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. There will be famines and earthquakes in various places. All these are the beginning of birth pains.

Then you will be handed over to be persecuted and put to death, and you will be hated by all nations because of me. At that time many will turn away from the faith and will betray and hate each other, and many false prophets will appear and deceive many people. Because of the increase of wickedness, the love of most will grow cold, but the one who stands firm to the end will be saved. And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in the whole world as a testimony to all nations, and then the end will come.

So when you see standing in the holy place "the abomination that causes desolation," spoken of through the prophet Daniel—let the reader understand—then let those who are in Judea flee to the mountains. Let no one on the housetop go down to take anything out of the house. Let no one in the field go back to get their cloak. How dreadful it will be in those days for pregnant women and nursing mothers! pray that your flight will not take place in winter or on the Sabbath. for then there will be great distress, unequaled from the beginning of the world until now—and never to be equaled again.

If those days had not been cut short, no one would survive, but for the sake of the elect those days will be shortened. At that time if anyone says to you, "Look, here is the Messiah!" or, "There he is!" do not believe it. for false messiahs and false prophets will appear and perform great signs and wonders to deceive, if possible, even the elect. See, I have told you ahead of time.

So if anyone tells you, "There he is, out in the wilderness," do not go out; or, "Here he is, in the inner rooms," do not believe it. for as lightning that comes from the east is visible even in the west, so will be the coming of the son of Man. Wherever there is a carcass, there the vultures will gather.

Immediately after the distress of those days

"'the sun will be darkened,
and the moon will not give its light;
the stars will fall from the sky,
and the heavenly bodies will be shaken.'

Then will appear the sign of the son of Man in heaven. And then all the peoples of the earth will mourn when they see the son of Man coming on the clouds of heaven, with power and great glory. And he will send his angels with a loud trumpet call, and they will gather his elect from the four winds, from one end of the heavens to the other.

Now learn this lesson from the fig tree: As soon as its twigs get tender and its leaves come out, you know that summer is near. Even so, when you see all these things, you know that it is near, right at the door. Truly I tell you, this generation will certainly not pass away until all these things have happened. Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will never pass away.

But about that day or hour no one knows, not even the angels in heaven, nor the son, but only the Father. As it was in the days of Noah, so it will be at the coming of the son of Man. for in the days before the flood, people were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, up to the day Noah entered the ark; and they knew nothing about what would happen until the flood came and took them all away. That is how it will be at the coming of the son of Man. Two men will be in the field; one will be taken and the other left. Two women will be grinding with a hand mill; one will be taken and the other left.

Therefore keep watch, because you do not know on what day your Lord will come.

The three major signs the Lord talked about where

1. Signs in the world
2. Signs in the Church
3. Signs in the atmosphere

The first and second signs are already happening as wars are already going on between countries such as Ukraine, Russia and Israel. Also there are many false messiahs and prophets in today's church out to deceive many. The third will be instant and will be shortly followed by Jesus appearing in the air to take home the saints. If we are connected with him, we will meet him up in the air with the others when he comes.

The Careless Lives Of Believers Today

Very unfortunately, there are believers who are still ignorant of the signs playing right before their eyes today. Many believers confess sins everyday but still remain sinners and refuse to truly practice holiness. Some postpone their repentance, others refuse to restitute what was stolen, others are so lost in the activities and business of this world and sin has become very rampant today.

Jesus is weeping cause of this as he knows his coming is very near and most believers are sleeping in their sins forgetting that they don't belong to this world. They are only passing through it.

If we are true Christians, we won't fit in with the world because we will be very different from it. We won't be attending nightclubs, drinking and partying away our time, we won't be engaged in a sexual relationship with someone who isn't our husband or wife, we won't be preaching messages about peace, prosperity and blessings over repentance, holiness and truthfulness, we won't be caught gambling away our money or at the prostitutes' hotel, we won't wake up nor go to bed without praying to God, we won't be found with stolen items or forged certificates, we won't covet our neighbours car, house, husband or wife, we won't be found on body revealing dresses, we won't be taken by peer pressure or seek the validation of any ungodly company, we won't be found gossiping or sowing discord amongst people, we won't be doing the works or having the lust of the devil because we're true Christians called out of the world by God to serve Him.

We shouldn't put our hopes or trust in any pastor or spiritual leader as our salvation is personal. It is our actions, appearance and way of life that will determine our eternal destiny and putting our trusts in any spiritual leader is very risky. Remember what the Bible tells us.

"It is better to take refuge in the Lord than to trust in humans." Psalm 118:8

"This is what the Lord says: 'Cursed is the one who trusts in man, who draws strength from mere flesh and whose heart turns away from the Lord.'" Jeremiah 17:5

"Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight." Proverbs 3:5-6.

As Christians, we need to have a personal understanding of who Jesus is and a personal relationship with him as that is the only way we can be saved by him. Coming through someone else is a disaster waiting to be born.

The end is here and we can see it, we need to prepare ourselves everyday in order to make it with the others who will be saved as the Bible say "him that endures till the end shall be saved."

If there are any questions, please share them.

Peace of the Lord I leave with you.

Religion / The Key To Divine Power by kpakpandoN(m): 7:55am On Dec 18, 2023
When I became a Christian, I was determined not to be an ordinary one. I wanted to be a Christian with power to do the impossible. I soon discovered that to get power from God, you need to be totally sold out to Him. When you study Paul the Apostle who was so powerful that his handkerchiefs and aprons were healing the sick, you will see that when he beheld Christ on his way to Damascus as he hit the ground, he said, “What do you want me to do Lord?” (Acts 9:61). That is total surrender from the onset. You hear him say in Galatians 2:20: “I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.”

In other words, He was saying, “Forget the Paul you used to know, forget all you knew about me; the only reason I am living now is that Christ is living in me.” This is why he said in Philippians 1:21, “for to me to live is Christ, and to die is gain.”

By God’s special grace, He has done so many great things through me that make me glad that I surrendered all to Him. These are things that outweigh the pain of total surrender. Some people want God to use them mightily, but they still tell lies once in a while.

Some want to heal the sick but their money is too precious for God to take from them. Some want to command demons but even the devil is looking at them and saying, “From your sinful mouth? You think you can command me?”

Take your focus off the things of this world that distract you and surrender completely to God. pray without ceasing, study your Bible regularly, fast often – just go all in with God. Let Him know that you are His and His alone. Don’t worry about the earthly things you are chasing now – Jesus Christ promised in Matthew 19:29 “And every one that hath forsaken houses, or brethren, or sisters, or father, or mother, or wife, or children, or lands, for my name’s sake, shall receive an hundredfold, and shall inherit everlasting life.” I can attest to that promise because He has fulfilled it in my life. Try Him and see.

Religion / Why I Became An Atheist by jaephoenix(m): 9:50am On Dec 16, 2023
I'm a physician. During med school, I noticed many things in my clinical trainings. Many people dying even after copious prayers. Some were pastors and notable men of god that supposedly did miracles. I asked myself where all the Bible quotes about healing went to. Jusr before I did my Sponsio Academica, lost my dad. This man was a vibrant Christian. Left his booming alcohol business to become a Christian and from there his health dwindled….
Then I started digging. Asked several questions, which was either ignored by my mum or I was told to ask the pastors, who turned out to be clueless. The butt of those questions were these
1. If Yahweh loved us, why give us a very contradictory and lie infected book like the bible, and then disappear from the scene. I mean since the days of the Bible where he was popping up and throwing down fire and lightning from up above, dude has gone mighty silent.
2. How come the most 'christianized' countries happen to be the most miserable? From Latin America to Africa, poverty is the norm. And the relatively atheistic societies are the most successful, like the Scandinavian countries, Iceland, China, Eastern Europe etc. Despite the fact your bible said righteousness exalteth a nation and even said the prayers of the heathens are abominations, yet those heathen get more successful while the people that pray more to him get more miserable. Case in point in Nigeria. We call US, UK, Canada sinful and irreligious cos of their LGBTQXXX, yet we abandon Nigeria that abhors LGBTQXXX to flee to those 'cursed' countries (like many Christians call them)
3. Miracles only happen in TVs and social media. Never happens in hospitals where the real sick people are. for some reasons, pastors only do their miracles in their churches, but avidly avoid these hospitals, even if the hospitals are right beside them. In fact, many churches now have hospitals, and run clinics on Sundays. Even pastors and churches contribute money for surgeries for their members. I mean they could simply heal those members with a word, just like good old Jesus, thus saving them from giving us doctors their hard-earned money, and also saving the member and his family the physical pain and stress of the sickness. Only miracles we hear about are the unconfirmed healing from HIV, sickle cell etc. Have you ever seen them make an amputee limb regrow? Lol 😆 . That one would be difficult for them to arrange, especially on live tv

4. The Bible story on creation is so funny. There are many sticky points than a chocolate bar.
A. Christians believe atheists are wrong to assume everything on earth was not created, but they forget the fact their bible said Yahweh created the world from….. nothing. And where did Yahweh himself pop out from? Yup. Nothing. He just existed
B. Your creation story said Yahweh created plants before the sun. Interesting…
C. Chapter 1 reports that the fruit trees were created before the man, while chapter 2 indicates they were made after him. Genesis 1:20 says the fowl were created out of the waters; Genesis 2:19 alleges they were formed from the ground.
D. Contradictions are also seen in the biblical story of a worldwide flood. According to Genesis 6:19-22, God ordered Noah to bring “of every living thing of all flesh, two of every sort . . . into the ark.” Nevertheless, Genesis 7:2-3 relates that the Lord ordered Noah to take into the ark the clean beasts and the birds by sevens, and only the unclean beasts by twos.
E. Genesis 8:4 reports that, as the waters of the flood receded, Noah’s ark rested on the mountains of Ararat in the seventh month. The very next verse, however, says the mountaintops could not be seen until the tenth month.
F.Genesis 8:13 describes the earth as being dry on the first day of the first month. But Genesis 8:14 informs us the earth was not dry until the twenty-seventh day of the second month
You can see other gaffes in the Bible here https://www.nairaland.com/7659505/book-bible-gaffes

4. The Bible is a poor moral source.
A. Yahweh committed more murders than Satan. Matter of fact, I can't remember any killing by Satan but an loving god committed all sorts of genocide, from innocent babies, told Israelites to rip babies from preggo women etc. He even said people wearing different materials in the same cloth should be killed.
B. The Bible upholds slavery and even warns slaves to be obedient to their slavemasters just like they are obedient to him. He gave 10 commandments, yet ignored saying anything bad about slavery or misogyny. What does that tell you?
C. Its also a sin to work on Sabbaths which may be Saturdays or Sundays, depending on your Christian persuation.
D. Its a sin to wear different fabrics

5. So Yahweh created the whole world, right?
There's Eden. He then made a tree of knowledge, and guess what? Planted it right in the middle of the garden. As an all knowing god, Yahweh knew Adam was gonna fail but planted this forbidden tree right in the middle of the garden with luscious fruits, to distract and tempt Adam. Gave him a partner that would make the temptation very hard to pass up. Then to make matters worse, he allowed Satan(an omnipresent and omnipotent being) to finish the job of tempting Adam? Then when man fails, he turns around to blame him of making the wrong choice? And then went ahead to rain curses in the poor dude.
Are you seeing how Yahweh stacked up the odds against poor Adam. Almost as if he wants the dude to fail.

Here is an analogy. You(yahweh) sent your son(Adam) to school(garden of eden) and paid a bully(Satan) to distract and beat the child, so he'll fail in school? I used the word 'paid' because he Satan is an upgraded being, having those powers handed to him by Yahweh. Whats his target? A puny Adam, a regular mortal with no powers whatsoever

6. The story of creationism has no historical backup. And evolution can be supported by biology, genetics, archeology etc. There was even no mention of dinosaurs in the Bible even though they roamed for thousands of years

Politics / How Fubara Fell Out With Wike by Islie: 8:43am On Dec 16, 2023
Ex-gov imposed commissioners, advisers, others on successor

Federal lawmakers protest, ask Tinubu to intervene, why N’Assembly can’t act yet – Reps spokesman

The list of commissioners, special advisers and other key aides as well as their portfolios was handed over to the Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, by his predecessor, Nyesom Wike, Saturday PUNCH gathered.

A close aide of the governor, who disclosed this exclusively to Saturday PUNCH, said Fubara had no input into the appointments as his predecessor was solely responsible for their selection and appointment.

The source said the resignation of some of the commissioners was a confirmation that they were not the governor’s choices, but were rather imposed by Wike, who installed Fubara as his successor.

The aide stated, “Yes, the resignation of the commissioners has shown that they were not appointed by the governor. They were never his nominees. The list of the commissioners and advisers was handed over to the governor by the former governor with instructions on portfolios and offices to occupy. Even security agents were handed over to the governor with clear instructions on where to post them.

Is there a way the governor can appoint commissioners, advisers and others and they will be resigning this way? It is not possible. Don’t forget that we are just about seven months in office. Commissioners appointed by the governor won’t leave.”

Responding to the claim by the FCT minister that the governor and all elected officials in Rivers State did not buy nomination forms from their pockets, the source said, “Yes, the former governor was correct to say he bought the forms for everyone. But pray, with which money? You know the salary of a governor and you know the cost of nomination and expression of interest forms for the Peoples Democratic Party.

“Let those who want to go leave and the governor will assemble members of his team, and not moles planted to spy on the administration.”

More commissioners resign

The gale of resignation from the Rivers State Executive Council continued on Friday with three more commissioners joining the fray.

They are the commissioners for Transport, Dr Jacobson Nbina; Housing, Dr Gift Worlu; and Environment, Austen Ben-Chioma.

Their resignations were contained in separate letters cited by one of our correspondents and addressed to the governor through the Secretary to the State Government.

Both Nbina and Austen-Ben Chioma were also commissioners under Wike.

This brings to nine the commissioners who have so far resigned their appointments.

Nbina, who confirmed his resignation to Saturday PUNCH on Friday via the telephone said, “Yes, I resigned yesterday (Thursday).”

Asked the reason for his action, he stated, “The reason is personal to me and my family commitments. I don’t have any issue with the governor. It is very personal.”

There were reports that their action was preparing the ground for them to officially defect to the APC, though this had yet to be confirmed.

Earlier, Prof Zacchaeus Adangor, SAN (Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice); Dr Des George-Kelly ((Works); Emeka Woke (Special Duties); Mrs Inime Aguma (Social Welfare and Rehabilitation); Isaac Kamalu (Finance); and Prof Chinedu Mmom (Education), had resigned from Fubara’s cabinet

Mmom, Adangor, Aguma, George-Kelly, Nbina and Kamalu all served as commissioners under the immediate past administration of Wike and before being reappointed by Fubara.

On his part, Emeka Woke, who also resigned from Fubara’s cabinet as special duties commissioner, was Wike’s chief of staff for eight years.

Speaking to our correspondent on Wednesday, the Caretaker Committee Chairman of the APC in Rivers State, Chief Tony Okocha, said a formal launch of the new APC in the state was scheduled for this weekend, adding, “You will see the tsunami that will happen that day.”

Assembly demolition continues

Meanwhile, the demolition of the state House of Assembly complex continued on Friday with the hallowed chambers completely pulled down.

One of our correspondents, who visited the complex around 10am, reported that there were four bulldozers inside the complex pulling down other adjoining buildings.

The Commissioner for Information and Communications, Joe Johnson, had told journalists that the decision of the state government to demolish the complex built during the administration of Dr Peter Odili was because, after the visit of the governor to assess the damage caused by the October 29, 2023 explosion, he contacted a firm that reported that the building had integrity issues and was unfit for legislative business.

“So, the government will rebuild the complex. But for the meantime, the state has provided a place for the lawmakers to be sitting pending when the building is completed,” Johnson had stated.

A team of policemen in a patrol van was stationed at the Assembly entrance, while both ends of the Moscow Road leading into the complex had security blockades though human and vehicular restrictions had been relaxed.

‘Why NASS can’t intervene’

The House of Representatives has given reasons why it will not take up the functions of the Rivers State House of Assembly, which is currently embroiled in a crisis owing to the feud between Fubara and Wike.

Fubara, the political godson of the Federal Capital Territory minister, has literally parted ways with the former governor in what has been described as the battle for the soul of the oil-rich state.

Earlier in the week, 27 lawmakers believed to be loyalists of Wike defected to the All Progressives Congress, and Fubara, who appears ready to damn the consequences, wasted no time in demolishing the state House of Assembly complex, a move seen as a masterstroke to nullify whatever decisions the lawmakers are likely to take against him.

Things have since moved very fast with a couple of top government functionaries resigning their positions in a replay of the Godwin Obaseki/Adams Oshiomhole feud a few years ago.

The tension in Rivers State has led to suggestions of possible intervention by the National Assembly to restore order by taking over the role of the state lawmakers until the return of normalcy in line with the provision of Section 11 (4) and (5) of the 1999 Constitution (as amended).

Subsection (4) provides, “At any time when any House of Assembly of a state is unable to perform its functions because of the situation prevailing in that state, the National Assembly may make such laws for the peace, order and good government of that state concerning matters on which a House of Assembly may make laws as may appear.”

Subsection (5) reads, “for the purposes of subsection (4) of this section, a House of Assembly shall not be deemed to be unable to perform its functions as long as the House of Assembly can hold a meeting and transact business.”

In an exclusive conversation with Saturday PUNCH, the deputy spokesman of the House of Representatives, Phillip Agbese, said the ongoing political turbulence in Rivers State had yet to be tabled before the Green Chamber, noting that until that was done, there could be little or no intervention in the interim.

Agbese stated, “It is true that there is a constitutional backing for the National Assembly to intervene where there are established instances of crisis in a state House of Assembly that is unable to perform its functions.

“The 10th House has not been notified of any crisis. If it is not formally aware, there is nothing much we can do by way of intervention in the crisis, but it is our wish that the matter will be resolved amicably so that Rivers lawmakers can go about the business they were elected to do by their people. This is all I can say for now.”

Protests against crisis

The political crisis in the state took a new twist on Friday as two members of the National Assembly from Rivers State and the National President of the Ijaw National Congress led separate groups to Port Harcourt to protest against the happenings in the state and registered their solidarity with the governor.

The two National Assembly members are Awaji-Inombek Abiante, who represents the Andoni/Opopo/Nkoro Federal Constituency, and Boma Goodhead, the representative of the Asari-Toru/Akuku-Toru Federal Constituency, both in the House of Representatives.

In a solidarity rally, the lawmakers led hundreds of youths who sang and marched from the popular UTC junction through Azikiwe Road, passed in front of the Government House and terminated at the entrance to the Rivers State House of Assembly complex.

Addressing the crowd, Abiante said the Rivers people were not slaves and the state was not a conquered territory.

In a veiled reference to the FCT minister, he said his local government area of Andoni did not witness any development while Wike held sway in the state despite his claims of touching every council area, and slammed him for orchestrating the planned impeachment of Fubara.

He also urged President Bola Tinubu to practice what he preaches by ensuring that good governance prevailed in Rivers State, pointing out that good governance was synonymous with respect for the rule of law.

The federal lawmaker said, “There are slaves who are always happy in chains. But if you go through the history of Rivers State, if you go through the evolution and the abolition of slavery worldwide, you will hear names from Rivers State.

“We are not slaves. We are not part of those slaves who are happy in their chains. I want to appreciate President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for telling the entire world and affirming that indeed one ingredient that can stop a violent takeover of government and that can stop the violence of humans is good governance.

“He preached it and is the chair of the Heads of Government of the West African nations. We implore him to preach the same in his country. You cannot sell what you don’t have. We cannot become a laughing stock in the comity of nations in the West African sub-region.

“I’m a member of the ECOWAS Parliament and I know that we deserve to have that respect, and he (Tinubu) has preached it. If there has to be good governance, Rivers State is a test case.

“Good governance hinges on respect for the rule of law. Some people, who we elected, have offered to vacate their seats. That is what the law says. A lawmaker should not be seen to be breaking the law.”

While taking a swipe at the members of the state House of Assembly who defected to the APC for their action, Abiante said the law stipulated that they would lose their privileges.

He added, “They should be courageous enough to park their things out of the official quarters allocated to members of the Rivers State House of Assembly. They are no longer members of the Rivers State House of Assembly.

“They should also stop being in contempt of court as the court has declared. And on their own volition, they have abandoned the responsibility given to them.

“As you leave here, go back home and begin to select those who will represent you in the House of Assembly. I have somebody who is supposed to be representing me and I saw him shamelessly saying he signed for the impeachment of the governor given to us by God.

“What does he want to impeach Fubara for? Is it the fact that for eight good years, not even a toilet was inaugurated in the life of the immediate past administration of Rivers State in Andoni?

“Not even a toilet was inaugurated and the pride is I have done everything in all the local government areas. I challenge anyone to come and tell me what was done in Andoni. Less than six months, we now have a good road to the headquarters of Andoni LGA and somebody that we elected to represent us is telling us that he wants to impeach that governor. Can that ever work?

“So, we have just sent a message to Mr President to entrench good governance and begin from Rivers State. I want to tell the Inspector-General of Police again. I stood on the floor of the House and condemned the attempted assassination of the Rivers State governor and the IG told me that it was fake news.

“How can he tell me it was fake news, something that was watched all over the world? We will forgive him. Otherwise, we would have said that a character like that is not qualified for the position. But we have forgiven him. It should not happen again.

“Governance led by Sim Fubara is for Rivers people. Any of the person or group of persons parading whatever, they are not sent by us.”

On his part, the INC President, Prof Benjamin Okaba, led many Ijaw youths to the Government House in solidarity with Fubara, whom he described as a true Ijaw son.

Amid singing and dancing, the youth displayed placards with several inscriptions to drive home their message.

Some of the inscriptions read, ‘Rivers must be from impunity and tyranny’, ‘Rivers and Ijaw people are in support of Governor Fubara’, ‘The governor must be allowed to govern’, and ‘Let’s end godfatherism’ among others.

Addressing journalists on the sidelines, Okaba stated, “These are Ijaw people gathered here on this fateful day. We are from seven states of the South-South. As we speak, over two million Ijaw youths are in Port Harcourt.

“We have decided to embark on this symbolic solidarity march to the Government House, Port Harcourt. Ijaw men and women are coming from Bayelsa, Edo State, Ondo State, from Lagos and Akwa Ibom states. If need be, we shall bring Ijaw people from all the coastal regions to show our solidarity for our son, the legitimately elected governor of Rivers State.

“The purpose of this rally is to call on President Tinubu to advise his minister to take his knees off the neck of the governor of Rivers State.”

He expressed dismay that even after the intervention of the President, the PDP governors, Rivers State Council of Traditional Rulers, elders and many democrats across the country, “Wike is still hell bent on cutting short the tenure of Fubara. We are here to resist any attempt to scuttle the process.

“We are here as Ijaw people to say that Wike has won a lot of battles, but this is a war against the Ijaw people. Let him go to the history of the Ijaw nation. The Ijaw nation has never been conquered since pre-colonial times. And we shall never be conquered.

“Wike has dared the Ijaw people. Wike has declared war against the Ijaw people and we are ready for him.”

The INC boss emphasized that Tinubu’s refusal to call caution the minister showed that he was supporting him to cause a crisis in Rivers State.

Okaba added that the Ijaw nation had suffered marginalisation for too long despite hosting oil resources and installations that sustain the country, noting that the people of the Niger Delta could no longer guarantee the safety of oil facilities in the region.

He stated that for the President to remain quiet while Wike was causing embarrassment in his own state showed that he was supporting the minister.

He added, “We are already angered that the government of President Bola Tinubu has marginalised the Ijaw people. In Delta State, where three persons were picked for federal appointments, none of them is from the Ijaw nation.

“Meanwhile, in that state, the Ijaws are the most economically viable. We are noting all of this. But for him to keep quiet and allow Wike to misbehave shows that there is some tacit support. And we shall not take that.

“As we speak our people are so angered; our people are so frustrated to the extent that we can no longer guarantee if things continue in this way the safety of the oil installations in Ijaw land and in our region.

“And if you (President) are taking us for granted; continue. A day shall tell whether the Ijaw people are still Ijaw people who will say a thing and make it come to pass.

“Since 1958, the Nigerian nation has been surviving on the oil that comes from Ijaw land. Till today, we are crying about marginalisation and we are crying over environmental degradation.

“When you talk of climate change and all that, the Ijaw nation is most affected. But daily, we are treated as if we are not humans. This must stop.

“Forty million Ijaw people are angered and aggrieved. And they are saying that a slap on Governor Fubara is a slap on the entire Ijaw nation. Any attempt to further close up the political space to remove Siminalayi Fubara from office is a call for fire.”

Religion / Circumstantial Instructions: How GOD Speaks To Us Through Our Circumstances by reallifegospel(m): 2:32am On Dec 16, 2023
Circumstantial Instructions: How GOD speaks to us through circumstances:

GOD is speaking to you. Can you hear him?
We all think that God only limits his means of communicating to Man to just "the Bible", the Holy Spirit, or the Prophets.
No, even by simply taking a trip to the beach, watching animals behave, visiting a forest, reading a graffiti etc etc, you can hear God speaking to you.

CIRCUMSTANTIAL INSTRUCTIONS FROM GOD TO MAN:
(How GOD speaks to us through our circumstances.)

God is speaking to you right now in so many ways and in diverse voices. Especially through your circumstances.
Circumstances are the way things are with you presently, both privately and publicly.
It is also the way things are with the people around you. Plus how both situations intersect.
The intersection of both circumstances is the ultimate indicator of an individual either being in a state of eudaimonia or in a lugubrious state.
Whether you find yourself in an eudamonic state or in a lugubrious state, your circumstance is a form of instruction that directs you on the next step to take.

for example:
The Prodigal son after his profligacy found himself in a place and point where he even longed to join pigs to eat pig food.
The horrible state he found himself brought him back to his senses.
Luke 15:17-20

He was like:
"Hey, wait a second! I'm a majestic prince for goodness sake. How on earth did it get so bad that I'm even trying to share some pig food with a bunch of pigs?"

His negative circumstances brought him back to his senses.

GOD explains to us why he allows or permits a few things to bring us some tears.
It's because being too happy can cause you to forget yourself and in fact end up throwing garbage in God's face. If Sarah knew she was discussing with GOD, would she have laughed at God's declaration and lied even when God questioned her?

What about the rich guy who got so carried away with the bliss of making large lumps of profits until he denied GOD of his praises and had to pass that very same night. Don't end up like the rich fool.
Luke 12:16-21

Our circumstances are indicators of the state of our relationship with GOD.

GOOD CIRCUMSTANCES: indicate that God is pleased with you and then he's letting you have some time to enjoy some fatness of his endless and unsearchable wealth and riches.

BAD CIRCUMSTANCES: doesn't mean that God is absent or that God is not with you, it could mean that God is passing you through a process and, if your relationship with him is perfect and top notch, such bad situations won't exist for a long time.
When bad circumstances linger longer than necessary, it means something is not right between you and God and you need to visit the drawing boards.

With that in mind, let's look at more examples of Circumstantial Instructions:

Example 2:
The Israelites in the wilderness for example is a typical case of a bad circumstance that lasted longer than it was supposed to.
They weren't supposed to stay that long in the wilderness but due to their unbelief in God, the worshipping of the golden calf, Korah, Dathan and Abiram's insurrection plus so many more issues, they had to be stuck in the wilderness for decades until finally an entire generation of them passed away.
Joshua 5:6

Take a look at your present circumstances right now and ask yourself what you think GOD is trying to communicate to you through them.

It actually makes sense to pray and have a prayerful discussion with God on the matter, then find out the next step to take.

Example 3:
When the Brook Cherith dried up, the Prophet Elijah had no more water to drink. It was then that God instructed him to go to the Widow's house, and that marked the historic story of Prophet Elijah and the Widow of Zarepheth.
1 King 17:1-7

Example 4:
When persecutions sprang out in the early church, the early Christians were dispersed in various different directions. God designed those persecutions to cause the gospel to spread all over Europe and to so many parts of Asia, and Africa.
This resulted in the various missionary journeys of the Apostle Paul of Tarsus.
It also contributed to the multiplication of the Church across the world eventually.
Acts 8:1-5

What you're experiencing right now, is an instructive mechanism from GOD to go back to the analytical drawing board of your relationship with him and if your relationship is good, he wants it to be better and then from that you can have the best not just for you to sit back and start slapping your chest in self praise but for all men to see the wonder he's done in your life and give him all the praises he deserve.
This is because your life is designed to be a channel of praises and thanksgiving and worship to GOD and when sinners see how God is good to you for being righteous, they will turn from their sinful ways and follow the path of righteousness in obedience to God's commandments as he wishes and as he wills for all men to do.

Religion / Strange Powers Resident In The Body of Christ by ocnovakmichael(m): 12:34pm On Dec 15, 2023
From my newest Book: The Strangest Power

There are yet strange powers in the body of Christ which the church is yet to explore. We're ignorant of how to wild and exercise our rights and privileges as contained in the mystery of our faith. We, the church, think that we have all the revelation there is in the word of God, but quite frankly, we're only walking in the little light that we've grasp.

I remember brother Kenneth Hagin speaking along this line when the Lord Jesus appeared to him while he was praying. Hagin told the Lord he had read the New Testament 250 times, but the Lord said to him, 'son, there's so much more in my word that you don't know yet.' Friend, there is so much more in the word of God that the church do not know.
What am I getting to? You see, sometimes when we read a passage of scripture, we may peruse right through it, but at one point the Spirit will grab our attention to read in between the lines, and that passage of scripture will come alive and become a living revelation, giving us new understanding of our inheritance as sons.
So I was reading through 1 Timothy 1:20 and 1 Corinthians 5:5 and I found out that bequeathed to the body of Christ is reserved power to make or mar, to bind or to loose, to plant and to uproot to the glory of God. This reserved power is not given for wanton exercises but to bring correction to that which has gotten out of the way.

Now there are two sides to this reserved power: the legal and the experiential sides. The legal side holds that the body of Christ have this power potentially declared upon her. And the experiential side holds that the church could exercise this power by faith.
The Legal side
Matthew 18:18
18. Verily I say unto you, Whatsoever ye shall bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever ye shall loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.

Luke 10:19
19. Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you.

Mark 11:23
23. for verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith.

The legal side shows that the body of Christ has the reservation to make or mar, to bind or to loose, to plant or uproot. But this power will remain dormant until the church exercise her divine prerogative.
The Experiential side
In the experiential side, we see the church demonstrating her divine prerogative over circumstances.
1 Timothy 1:19-20
19. Holding faith, and a good conscience; which some having put away concerning faith have made shipwreck:
20. Of whom is Hymenaeus and Alexander; whom I have delivered unto Satan, that they may learn not to blaspheme.

Paul was exercising divine prerogative over those who speak lightly and slander the things of the faith. He said he had delivered them unto Satan for the destruction of the flesh, so to speak.
1 Corinthians 5:4-5
4. In the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, when ye are gathered together, and my spirit, with the power of our Lord Jesus Christ,
5. To deliver such an one unto Satan for the destruction of the flesh, that the spirit may be saved in the day of the Lord Jesus.

Notice Paul said, the church has the prerogative to deliver one, who has brought contempt to the body of Christ, unto Satan for the destruction of the flesh. Put slightly differently, the church has the authority to bring sanity in a place where there is decadence.

You see, until the Church wake up and be on the offensive against every attack from the powers of darkness, we are going under. The Bible says in 2 Corinthians 10:5 "Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalt itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ."
Friend, it is high time we begin to exercise our divine prerogative as written in the word. Let's begin to act on the word of God, for in the word lies our privileges.
Consider, for illustration, in 1 John 5:16, John writing by the inspiration of the Holy Ghost, espoused: "If any man see his brother sin a sin which is not unto death, he shall ask, and he shall give him life for them that sin not unto death. There is a sin unto death: I do not say that he shall pray for it. All unrighteousness is sin: and there is a sin not unto death."
Notice the Spirit says, 'You shall ask, and he (God) shall give him life...' Why should you ask and not the person in need of life? Because that person, perhaps, is unable to ask or unable to help himself.
We can ask God to give life to one who is in comatose or who is unable to say the prayer of repentance and God will give eternal life to such a one. God said He would, we just got through reading that.
I remember one time I was returning from work and on the right side of the road was an insane man lying helpless and in a poor state. my heart was moved to empathize with him in such condition of health and mind. Nevertheless, when I got home and about to make dinner, right in the kitchen, the spirit of supplication came heavily upon me that I started praying for this insane man which I saw some few hours back.
I knelt down in the kitchen and I prayed for that insane man in the Holy Ghost for several somewhat minutes. And after I had prayed, I seem to get a note of victory that whatever it is in the life of that man is settled. However, some few days later as I walked down the same road, I looked at the corner where the insane man used to lay every day, behold, it was swept and clean: the man is no longer there. And I heard a voice within my spirit say, “He is dead.”
Till this day, I cannot tell the whereabouts of that man. I could only rely on what my spirit told me about his soul. Nonetheless, I know that while many other concern saints and I were praying for that insane man, heaven and hell were also fighting for his body and soul. Scripture says, “Yet Michael the archangel, when contending with the devil he disputed about the body of Moses, durst not bring against him a railing accusation, but said, The Lord rebuke thee” (Jude 9).

In conclusion, until we start exercising our divine prerogative according to scriptures, this power will remain as reserved power in the body of Christ.

Islam for Muslims / What Are The Rights Of Women In Islam? by Rashduct4luv(m): 9:30pm On Dec 14, 2023
Question
What are the woman’s rights like under Islam and how have they changed since Islam’s golden age (from mid 8th century until 12th century) if they have changed?.

Summary of Answer
Islam raised the status of women, and made them equal with men in most rulings. So women, like men, are commanded to believe in Allah and to worship Him. And women are made equal to men in terms of reward in the Hereafter. Women have the right to express themselves, to give sincere advice, to enjoin what is good and forbid what is evil, and to call people to Allah. Women have the right to own property, to buy and sell, to inherit, to give charity and to give gifts. It is not permissible for anyone to take a woman’s wealth without her consent. for more about the rights of women in Islam, see the detailed answer.

Answer

Praise be to Allah!
Islam honours women as mothers
Islam honors women greatly. It honors women as mothers who must be respected, obeyed and treated with kindness. Pleasing one's mother is regarded as part of pleasing Allah. Islm tells us that Paradise lies at the mother’s feet, i.e. that the best way to reach Paradise is through one's mother.

And Islam forbids disobeying one’s mother or making her angry, even by saying a mild word of disrespect. The mother’s rights are greater than those of the father, and the duty to take care of her grows greater as the mother grows older and weaker.

Honoring parents in the Quran
All of that is mentioned in many texts of the Quran and Sunnah Prophetic traditions).

for example, Allah says (interpretation of the meaning):

“And We have enjoined on man to be dutiful and kind to his parents” [al-Ahqaf 46:15]

“And your Lord has decreed that you worship none but Him. And that you be dutiful to your parents. If one of them or both of them attain old age in your life, say not to them a word of disrespect, nor shout at them but address them in terms of honor.

And lower unto them the wing of submission and humility through mercy, and say: ‘my Lord! Bestow on them Your Mercy as they did bring me up when I was young’” [al-Isra 17:23, 24]

Honoring parents in the Sunnah
Ibn Majah (2781) narrated that Mu’awiyah ibn Jahimiah al-Sulami (may Allah be pleased with him) said: I came to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) and said: O Messenger of Allah, I want to go for jihad (battle) with you, seeking thereby the Face of Allah and the Hereafter. He said, “Woe to you! Is your mother still alive?” I said, Yes. He said, “Go back and honor her.” Then I approached him from the other side and said: O Messenger of Allah, I want to go for jihad with you, seeking thereby the Face of Allah and the Hereafter. He said, “Woe to you! Is your mother still alive?” I said, Yes. He said, “Go back and honor her.” Then I approached him from in front and said, O Messenger of Allah, I want to go for jihad with you, seeking thereby the Face of Allah and the Hereafter. He said, “Woe to you! Is your mother still alive?” I said, Yes. He said, “Go back and honor her (lit. stay by her feet), for there is Paradise.” (Classed as sahih by al-Albani in Sahih Sunan Ibn Majah. It was also narrated by al-Nasai with the words: “Stay with her for Paradise is beneath her feet.”)

Al-Bukhari (5971) and Muslim (2548) narrated that Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) said: A man came to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) and said: “O Messenger of Alaah, who is most deserving of my good company?” He said: “Your mother.” He said: “Then who?” He said: “Your mother.” He said: “Then who?” He said: “Your mother.” He said: “Then who?” He said: “Then your father.”

And there are other texts which we do not have room to mention here.

Obligation on sons to spend on their mothers
One of the rights which Islam gives to the mother is that her son should spend on her if she needs that support, so long as he is able and can afford it. Hence for many centuries it was unheard of among the people of Islam for a mother to be left in an old-people’s home or for a son to kick her out of the house, or for her sons to refuse to spend on her, or for her to need to work in order to eat and drink if her sons were present.

Islam honors women as wives
Islam urges the husband to treat his wife in a good and kind manner, and says that the wife has rights over the husband like his rights over her, except that he has a degree over her, because of his responsibility of spending and taking care of the family’s affairs .

Islam states that the best of the Muslim men is the one who treats his wife in the best manner, and the man is forbidden to take his wife’s money without her consent. Allah says (interpretation of the meaning):

“and live with them honorably” [al-Nisa 4:19]

“And they (women) have rights similar (to those of their husbands) over them to what is reasonable, but men have a degree (of responsibility) over them. And Allah is All-Mighty, All-Wise” [al-Baqarah 2:228]

And the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: “I urge you to treat women well.” (Narrated by al-Bukhari, 331; Muslim, 1468)

And the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: “The best of you is the one who is best to his wife, and I am the best of you to my wives.” (Narrated by al-Tirmidhi, 3895; Ibn Majah, 1977; classed as sahih by al-Albani in Sahih al-Tirmidhi)

Islam honors women as daughters
And Islam honors women as daughters, and encourages us to raise them well and educate them. Islam states that raising daughters will bring a great reward. for example, the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: “Whoever takes care of two girls until they reach adulthood, he and I will come like this on the Day of Resurrection,” and he held his fingers together. (Narrated by Muslim, 2631)

Ibn Majah (3669) narrated that ‘Uqbah ibn ‘Amir (may Allah be pleased with him) said: I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) say: “Whoever has three daughters and is patient towards them, and feeds them, gives them to drink and clothes them from his riches, they will be a shield for him from the Fire on the Day of Resurrection.” (Classed as sahih by al-Albani in Sahih Ibn Majah)

Islam honors women as sisters and aunts
Islam honors women as sisters and as aunts. Islam enjoins upholding the ties of kinship and forbids severing those ties in many texts. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: “O people! Spread (the greeting of) salam, offer food (to the needy), uphold the ties of kinship, and pray at night when people are sleeping, and you will enter Paradise in peace.” (Narrated by Ibn Majah, 3251; classed as sahih by al-Albani in Sahih Ibn Majah)

Al-Bukhari (5988) narrated that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: “Allah, may He be exalted, said to the ties of kinship: ‘Whoever upholds you, I will support him, and whoever breaks you, I will cut him off.’”

All of these qualities may co-exist in a single woman: she may be a wife, a daughter, a mother, a sister, an aunt, so she may be honored in all these ways.

Women enjoy these rights in Islam
To conclude: Islam raised the status of women, and made them equal with men in most rulings.

Women have the right to a decent life, without facing aggression or being wronged. Women have the right to be educated; in fact it is obligatory to teach them what they need to know about their religion.

Anyone who compares the rights of women in Islam with their situation during the Jahiliyyah (pre-Islamic days of ignorance) or in other civilizations will understand that what we are saying is true. In fact we are certain that women are given the greatest honor in Islam.

Rights of women in other civilizations
There is no need for us to mention the situation of women in Greek, Persian or Jewish society, but even Christian societies had a bad attitude towards women. The theologians even gathered at the Council of Macon to discuss whether a woman was merely a body or a body with a soul. They thought it most likely that women did not have a soul that could be saved, and they made an exception only in the case of Mary (Maryam – peace be upon her).

The French held a conference in 586 CE to discuss whether women had souls or not, and if they had souls, were these souls animal or human? In the end, they decided that they were human! But they were created to serve men only.

During the time of Henry VIII, the English Parliament issued a decree forbidding women to read the New Testament because they were regarded as impure.

Until 1805, English law allowed a man to sell his wife, and set a wife’s price at six pennies.

In the modern age, women were kicked out of the house at the age of eighteen so that they could start working to earn a bite to eat. If a woman wanted to stay in the house, she had to pay her parents rent for her room and pay for her food and laundry. (See `Awdat al-Hijab, 2/47-56)

How can we compare this to Islam which enjoins honoring and kind treatment of women, and spending on them?

Have the rights of women in Islam been neglected?
With regard to the changes in these rights throughout the ages, the basic principles have not changed, but with regard to the application of these principles, there can be no doubt that during the golden age of Islam, the Muslims applied the shari’ah (Islamic law) of their Lord more, and the rulings of this shari’ah include honoring one’s mother and treating one’s wife, daughter, sister and women in general in a kind manner. The weaker religious commitment grew, the more these rights were neglected, but until the Day of Resurrection there will continue to be a group who adheres to their religion and applies the shari’ah (laws) of their Lord. These are the people who honor women the most and grant them their rights.

Despite the weakness of religious commitment among many Muslims nowadays, women still enjoy a high status, whether as daughters, wives or sisters, whilst we acknowledge that there are shortcomings, wrongdoing and neglect of women’s rights among some people, but each one will be answerable for himself.

And Allah knows best.

Politics / Another Clarion Call On Mr. President To Intervene In The Situation In Rivers by Papparassi: 12:00pm On Dec 12, 2023
11thDecember, 2023

His Excellency, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR
President, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces,
Federal Republic of Nigeria,
The Presidential Villa,
Abuja.

ANOTHER CLARION CALL ON MR. PRESIDENT TO INTERVENE IN THE SITUATION IN RIVERS STATE

I do hope this meets you well.

2. Further to my letter yesterday of 10thDecember, 2023 on the lingering situation in Ondo State, I would like to write again as promised to call your urgent attention in dousing the state of deep political divide in Rivers State. As you would recall, I had earlier addressed a press conference four weeks ago when the political crisis started in Rivers State, appealing to you to personally handle this matter. I thank you for the action which you took at the time, including urging the Governor, HE Siminalayi Fubara and his predecessor in office, Mr. Nyesom Wike who is today a Minister in your government to sheath their swords. However, let no one be deceived, the situation is not yet over and things seem to be degenerating by the day.

3. Both the Minister and the Governor are my sons and that informs my particular interest to ensure that peace returns as soon as possible to Rivers State. Besides, Rivers State is very important to the stability of the Niger Delta and the overall national economy. Therefore any breakdown of law and order there will not be in the overall interest of all.

4. I am very sure that your security and media people could have kept you abreast of what we see happening every day. First and foremost is the fact that the Governor of Rivers State has since gone on to apologize to the people of the State over what he considers to have been how the political intrigues created anxiety and tension in the state when it occurred. As a former Governor, you will agree with me that this is gentlemanly and commendable of the Governor.

5. However, I am surprised that the public utterances by the Minister, Mr. Wike and other related developments do not give an impression that he has moved much forward in resolving this matter. On one occasion, he stated that “impeachment is not a military coup”, a total outrage when all hands are on deck to consolidate this democracy under your leadership. As a matter of fact, if anything at all, the continued press statements and interviews by the Minister of the FCT leaves no one in doubt that nothing is okay. In fact, in his recent interview held on Friday, 24th November, 2023, the Minister charged to one of his group of guests that the Governor is ungrateful, concluding that “I cannot stand ingrates”. He continued stating how he had helped the Governor to become what he had become today and threatening publicly that he would continue the fight if the Governor “changes the structures which I left in the state.” Related to this is the report that was in the public that members of the Rivers State House of Assembly loyal to the Minister trooped to Abuja to hold a retreat which is obviously intended at enabling them stay out home to strategize and re-strategize with their principal.

6. Mr. President, I want to seek your clarification, why is the Minister keeping structures and for what purpose. I recall that in his days as a Governor, he had attacked the concept of godfatherism as totally unacceptable. As a matter of fact, this made him to fall out with his predecessor, Rt. Hon. RotimiAmaechi, the immediate past Minister of Transportation, whom we know was not even directly interfering in the affairs of the state. So, what purpose are the structures supposed to serve when there is a governor in place? This is a question that he owes you and all Nigerians. If all governors who as a matter of right, insist on allowing their favoured candidates as successor, insist on controlling them, insist on controlling the State Assemblies, insist on controlling the structure which they left behind, what manner of confusion will we have in Nigeria?

7. To further put themselves against the Governor and possibly drag you and your political party, the APC, we are now receiving a breaking news that “27 Members of Rivers State House of Assembly (all of whom are PDP like the Governor) decamp to the APC. The question is what is going on? In his state, at a relatively young age of 55 years, my son Wike had been a Minister of State, Minister in Federal Ministry of Education, before serving as Governor for 8 years and now Minister of FCT. So what does he need a structure for? This is very curious. If strong politicians such as yourself and other former presidents never talk about controlling structures, so how can a minister be threatening a governor not to touch a structure he has left in place. This is a bad precedent and if other Ministers in your government follow this trend, then it will be total confusion!

8. Another very disturbing development is the interview granted by the Minister at another occasion on Thursday, 23rd November 2023 that made the front page of almost every newspaper to the effect “I have no intention to contest election in 2027”. At the age of 96 and half years and having spent 70 years in politics in this country, I have never heard such an audacious statement being made by a Minister insisting that he has no ambition to contest against his principal who occupies the highest office of the presidency of Nigeria. This is a minister that has been in office for only 4 months with a very huge portfolio, more than perhaps 80% of his colleagues and from an opposition party, the PDP, talking about not interested in contesting against the man who appointed him. This will hardly happen under someone like President Obasanjo whom I often disagree with and even former President Goodluck Jonathan who some accuse as too soft.

9. Having served in the Federal Executive Council myself under General Yakubu Gowon, to some of us, the Office of the President is highly exalted and a minister serving in the Federal Executive Council cannot therefore equate as whether he will be contesting against him in 4 years’ time or not. As a member of your cabinet, you may need to call this minister to order to face the work in the quietness which is demanded of him. He should focus on his office and know that he is just one among a cabinet of 48 persons, besides the Vice President and yourself. The country has enough problems which your government must sit down to solve. The FCT itself is full of challenges all over and he has more than he can chew and therefore avoid these distractions.

10. I have to speak out because unfortunately those in my category who I sometime say have already collected our boarding passes and seeing this country evolve through thick and thin are very few, while some others are not willing or ready to talk about issues, I have been too active and owe it a duty to add my voice to these issues which need to be corrected.

11. I wish you and your government the best and pray for your success.

Family / MY SEXUAL HARASSMENT EXPERIENCE WITH THE CHAIRMEN AND MD I WORKED WITH by Jewessgratitud3: 4:59am On Dec 12, 2023
As you already know.. yes you! I like to share my life's experiences any chance I get or as my heart leads. So you'll have to deal with yet another one. Now this, for me, has become a ritual cos It serves as an emotional cleansing and a way of relieving my chest of years of pent up feelings and resentments (towards men) that have built up over time from these ordeals hence the reason I'm alway sharing so if you know my stories irritate or affect your sanity, please, at this point use the exit button but if you choose to constitute a nuisance by spewing rubbish as usual, then be my guest.

In my early years of working as a front desk personnel and secretary, the chairmen of the companies I worked in have always seen me as a sex object and all they want to do is get inbetween my innocent laps but thank God for wisdom and good home training that made me stand for what I believe in and resist them all. These were men in their 60s and 80s with grand children and all

It started with my first chairman in 2000. Then I was awaiting results. my dad would always advise us to get busy during this period of waiting so we don't just idle away or start joining other young girls to flirt with boys and that year my area was hot cos some OPP guys just returned from Yankee and parked themselves down to Ikoyi, messing girls up and down my street. my dad wasn't going to take chances knowing he has six beautiful girl's to protect from these wolves. So you were either away at school or out working. That was how I found myself working at that tender age instead of resting at home like my mates while awaiting results.

I got a job as a front desk personnel in this company. Before I knew what was happening the chairman started calling me more often into his office. He would tell me to make tea for him. His secretary whose duty it was to make tea was there o. He would leave her and buzz me downstairs with the intercom to come upstairs and make tea for him.
One day after serving him tea, he said I should come and help him check something on his PC. As I was checking the computer he started rubbing my back I quickly moved away and he was like... " You know I like you and I'm going to take care of you" bla bla bla... He started asking me what I use for my face that he'll be giving me money to buy it any time it finishes. I was dazed. Though I never went to him for anything but any time any of his children was having their wedding he'll order for the aso oke for me. He'll pay for my aso ebi. I remember he ordered for an Italian leather bag for me during one of the daughters wedding.
Me I'll just thank him and continue my job innocently.

One day he said I should be transferred to one of our branches at VI where one guy was and that the guy should come to Ikoyi. I got there and the following week this man landed. As I greeted him and turned to go to my seat, he tried to grab me but I was too fast for him. Then I told him, Sir I'm a Christian and he said "am I a devil? 👀👀. I said you're not but I can't do this. He tried to hug me again and I ran and stood in front of the glass door facing outside so people passing can see. He went into his office ( he was no longer using the VI office o he just came to do rubbish). After a few mins he left . That was the beginning of my problem.

This man started frustrating me. He would call the office landline ( then there was no GSM). blasting me that he's been calling the office but I didn't pick that I've gone to meet all my boyfriends in vi. Chai!... The next thing he'll say start coming to Ikoyi right now! I'll cry and cry.. if I get to Ikoyi, they'll say he just left. He continued until one day I was crying in the office and one elderly man who's office was opposite ours came in and saw me. I told him my boss is frustrating me he said I should not worry that they know him. This man told me to leave the job before he uses my star. He then told me to wait that he's coming. He went into his office and brought out huge amount of money and said my daughter take. Go and manage this until you get another job. I thanked him was ready to dump their work.

Something now happened. I got to the office and as i was opening the door, the phone was already ringing non-stop. Fax machine too was ringing. Na rush I use open door like mad girl cos I don know say this kind bad ringing na Chairman. I quickly picked up the receiver and it was him. He asked me if I received a fax from Japan, I checked, no facsimile. I said no. He then said it's because I didn't get to the office in time when the fax was ringing to speak with the Japanese man and to fix paper in the machine that was why I missed the message bla bla bla ( na lie o. Body dey pepper am.) He now told the manager to give me sack letter. I got to Ikoyi branch, took the letter and signed the photocopy.

He called the manager and was asking what was my attitude when I received the letter, that one said ko tie bother. He said "omo geh yen, o ti stubborn ju. They didn't know I was behind a partition hearing them. I just laughed and left after they climbed upstairs.
That was how I escaped that one.

Another one was in 2012. Then I was already through with my secretarial course and had worked in so many companies without issues until the bearish market that affected the Nigerian stock exchange and caused the finance and investment house I was working to fold up in 2008/9.
So in 2012, I got a job in Guinness and was attached to a Chairman of a unit there. Everything was working fine until a new MD came. A middle aged Man with wife and children.. He started disturbing me. This one uses force to ask me out. He just told me one day (after being friendly with me for a while) that he wants to go and give me a treat. I politely turned him down and the next thing this man shouted. Common Lock up and follow me. we got downstairs and I was heading to the gate, he said if you step out without me, you're fired. I'll be beg him that I don't want to go. This man will yell at me and order me to enter his car to take me out by force. If I refuse he'll be threatening me with sack. I'll just follow him for peace to rein. He'll spend and I'll eat and drink. It wasn't easy. I'll pray, cast and bind until one day, after leaving an eatery, he was going to drop me home when the back tyre of his new jeep got stuck in a big gutter. I say God catch you. He was now saying my ogbanje people don spoil his new jeep. He was lucky it happened in my area. So I went into one of my church elders house and begged him to give us jack or so, i can't remember now. He was able to pull it out sha.

The following week the chairman sacked him. He called me into his office and said he knew the MD was disturbing me, true or false.? I was like is that why you sacked him and he said, are you not happy? I just shrugged. The next minute baba too was toasting me. huh ! Men...

He started his own wahala. I was like.. I can't do this Sir. It's against my faith. This man began to tell me how he dated a young lady who came to buy beer and transformed her life. He said she got pregnant for him and he sent her abroad to deliver the baby bla bla... He said he's going to take care of me. Meanwhile, the other staff there told me he once dated his former secretary and impregnated her. She had two children for him and developed breath cancer, this man abandoned this lady in her mother's house and took his two sons from her. Till she died he never went near her again. They said he abandoned the first wife he married in his youth that had all his grownup sons that are now working in his private companies. The chairman even told me about his first love he met in Yankee when he was still a young boy had a son out of wedlock with her but after his education he left the boy and his mother and came back home to marry another woman. That his son was already an old man when he was telling me this but the guy looked so fresh because he's based there. He showed me his pics with his grand children. Me was wondering why he was telling me all these.

One Saturday, he called me and said I should send my house address that his driver was coming to pick me. He doesn't work on Saturdays o. So I sent the driver adress of a filling station near my bustop. He came and picked me. I got there and he asked me to sit down. He started talking rubbish again. This time he brought out bundle of cash and gave it to me. I rejected it. This man para. That why would I reject his gift? that for a man his age thats an insult. I should apologize. Na so I kneel down begin apologize. He now said I should stand up and take the money. I did. He stood up and left.

Another Saturday he came and wanted to smooch me. I screamed he now ran into his office. He came back and was asking me how old I was, I said I was 31 and he said he thought I was 25 . That I'm behaving like a baby. He now sat me down and played king Solomons message on his iPad saying it's not wrong for a Christian to marry many wives. He brought out his check book and dropped on the table asking me to name any amount and he would sign it and give me now now.. I was shaking ic I couldn't talk.

Later he told me the lady he told me about was coming. Under 3 mins a CRV drove into the compound and the lady entered with the two kids he had for the man. Immediately they entered I looked at the 4yr old boy, he was a carbon copy of this man. then the little boy shouted, youre beautiful! I like you.. I just looked at the chairman and he smiled wickedly. In my mind I said like father like son. E dey una blood. I bought then drinks and told baba that I was going he said no, come and sit with us ha! I sat down and the lady was looking at me with disdain. After a while when he saw I was no longer comfortable, he said I can go.

After that day, he started avoiding me. I was happy o. Then one day he said I will be working with the wife henceforth. That the wife needs a PA. I sensed he wanted to sack me and I remember asking him that hope he's not going to use this against me, he said no. I joined the wife. That one Margaret thatcher. Nothing I do was good enough. She would yell and talk thinking I'll shudder like the other girls, I'll just do my job and remain calm.

One day, he came and told me to follow him to the office. We got there and he said the wife said she doesn't need my services any longer. He now asked me to write a resignation letter. I said no, that since you're the one asking me to go, you should do a letter to that effect. He now said that will not be a good report in my record. So he called the accountant to prepare all my benefits and pay me off. I left with a heavy heart and told God this will be the last I'll ever work as a secretary in my life or work directly with a man and God heard and answered that prayer.

Young ladies are going through a lot. If you find yourself in this situation please don't give in. for what shall it profit a man to gain the whole world and lose his own soul.

TOPIC: When God Gives You A Spouse (Part 2)

And Adam said: “This is now bone of my bones And flesh of my flesh; She shall be called Woman, Because she was taken out of Man.” Genesis 2:23 NKJV

*Message*

When God gives you a spouse, it's just the best that can ever be. Today, several single youngsters are scared of marriage, due to the negative things they keep hearing from folks with bad marriage experiences.

They hear about husbands who cheat and abuse their wives. They hear about wives who frustrate their husbands and even get impregnated by someone else, and the poor man would think he is the father of the child. These are logical reasons you should insist on getting a spouse from God. That is to say, the person you will be getting married to must be a true child of God who is endorsed by Him.

No reasonable woman wants to share her husband with someone else, and so, a woman desires a husband who will stick faithfully to her alone. Many yet-to-get-married ladies are trying to avoid the mistakes that many already-married women make when choosing a husband. In the same vein, no reasonable man wants a wife that will frustrate him and keep peace of mind far away from him. Hence, several bachelors still have a big phobia of marriage.

But this won't be your portion if your spouse is a gift from the LORD. As a daughter of God, the man God will bless you with will be a blessing indeed. The fear of God in him will keep prompting him to obey God's instructions that a man should be contented with his wife's body alone (Proverbs 5:19), and should avoid adultery (Exodus 20:14, Romans 13:9).

And as a son of God, the Lord will bring to you one of His delightful damsels who enjoys running her home like the virtuous wife in Proverbs 31.

When God gives you a spouse, it's a blessing you will enjoy all your days.

*Prayer*
Today, let's pray for anyone about to take a step outside of God's Will for them, as far as marriage is concerned.

and I will make you swear by the Lord, the God of heaven and the God of the earth, that you will not take a wife for my son from the daughters of the Canaanites, among whom I dwell; but you shall go to my country and to my family, and take a wife for my son Isaac.”

Religion / "Straight Street": A Place To Start Over! by topshore(f): 11:34pm On Dec 05, 2023
Scripture Text: Acts 9:3-19

In Acts 9, we read about Saul's trip to "Straight Street." It tells the story of a man who got lost in religion and how he finds his way back to the living God.

How do we get to Straight Street and live there?

Acts 9 tells the tale of two men who follow God's leading to a location known as "Straight Street."
The first person was Saul of Tarsus
1. He was a person of faith.
2. His love for God is strong.
3. He had a good deal of education;
4. His faith was sound, and he loved serving God more than anyone else in his time.
5. But chapter 9 tells the story of how he was wrong.
6. He was lost in darkness and sin.
7. The devil tricked him. On the way to Damascus, he changed his mind, and this is the story of how he got to Straight Street.

The second man is a divine messenger, Ananias.
1. The Holy Spirit filled him. He was in touch with God.

Finding your way to Straight Street is what today's Bible passage is about. The only street named in the Bible is this.
It's called "Straight Street" because it means a certain way to walk with God. It means living in a way that is in line with God's will. Not only does it mean seeking God's will, but it also means being ready to do it no matter what. Straight Street is where the Christian life comes into reality; it's where we find the full Christian life.

In Matthew 7:13–14 (NIV), it says, "Enter through the narrow gate. Because the gate to hell is wide and the road to destruction is broad, and many people go through it. But the gate to life is small, and the road that goes to it is narrow, and few people find it. Following the narrow path is very important if we want to live our lives the way God wants us to. We need to find Straight Street if we want to know His will, His calling, and His power and be successful in this life. You can only find value in life on Straight Street. You can only grow closer to God on Straight Street.

Acts 9:1–3: At that time, Saul kept making death threats against the disciples of the Lord. He asked the high priest for letters to send to the synagogues in Damascus so that he could keep any Way's followers there as slaves and bring them to Jerusalem. As he got closer to Damascus on his way, Saul was going through life. Following his dreams, he was living his life. He worked as a Pharisee, which was a good job. He had a good education and learned from the best teacher in all of Jerusalem. He was successful; he did better than everyone else his age. He was born into a good family and was a Roman citizen. He was religious and felt a strong need to follow the rules and please God. He was determined and knew how to get where he was going. However, Saul was completely in the dark. He was tricked into believing that everything was fine. He didn't have any connection with God at all. He had nothing to do with God's will and was actually working against God's will and Kingdom. He was sure he was better than most people the whole time.

There may be a lot of people today who are like Saul. You might feel fine. You might even think you're better than most people. You've done well. You have a lot of knowledge. You come from a good home. Even though you say you are religious, you are not following God's plan for your life. Even though you are saved, you are not living the life God has planned for you. You are on your life's journey, going where you want to go and taking your own path. You are building your kingdom, but you don't care about God's kingdom at all. You are on a trip, just like Saul, and you need to find your way to Straight Street, a place where new things can start.

What brought Saul to the straight street?

When he got close to Damascus on his trip, Acts 9:3–5 (NIV) says, "All of a sudden, a light from heaven flashed around him." I asked, "Who are you, Lord?" Saul inquired. He said, "I am Jesus, who you are killing."

Revelation is the first thing that you need to do to get to Straight Street. Revelation is when God stops your trip and gives you light. That's when God comes into our dark times and helps us see the truth. Jesus always brings a lot of light and helps us see ourselves as we really are (Phil. 3–cool. Now Saul knew what kind of person he was. It hit him for the first time that he wasn't living his life in line with God's will. He wasn't doing what God wanted him to do. He not only realised how lost he was, but he also realised who Jesus really is. Jesus told Saul who he was. Saul saw Jesus, the son of God, for a split second. The Lily of the Valley, the Rose of Sharon, the Bright and Morning Star, the Great I Am, the Alpha and Omega, the Eternal God, the King of kings, and the Lord of lords. He saw the Lord. The person of Jesus was shown to them directly. You need your own discovery in order to get to Straight Street. You can't get there by riding up on someone else's. To get to Straight Street, you need to know that you are lost and have a close encounter with Jesus.

Being humble is another way to get to Straight Street (1 Peter 5:6) in the light of Christ. All of Saul's schooling was for nothing. His family's history wasn't important. The things he did didn't help. His faith and zeal were not real. Christ was his only hope. He was stuck and couldn't change. He wasn't able to make things better in his life. God told him where to go, but he had no idea how to get there (James 4:6; Isa. 57:15).

What did Saul do to get to Straight Street? By discovery, by being humble, and by giving up everything." He asked, "Lord, what do you want me to do?" while shaking and being amazed (Acts 9:6). Then the Lord told him, "Get up and go into the city. There, I will tell you what you need to do."

We get too busy with our own work, like building our own kingdom, all the time. When we were saved for the first time, we often said, "Lord, I'll do anything." After a while, we start to act like professionals. Giving our lives to serve God is something we do very well. We're sure of everything... I've already done that. I've paid my dues. I don't think God wants me to work in the nursery... I have too much to offer, grownups! God wouldn't want me to clean the house... I've learned too much to be taking out the trash.

Many things you do in the name of the Lord may be good, but are they what God wants you to do? Have you recently heard the Lord's voice telling you what to do? Are you willing to give up your rights and plans for his? Have you asked God the same thing that Saul did that day? What do you want me to do, Lord? If so, are you observing all of them? Or have you already thought about what he will say? If you heard Him, are you following what He said? It's no longer okay to obey only half-heartedly. No holding back at all! Have you given your business over to the Lord, or are you building your own kingdom on your own? Do you keep valuable things down here, where they will rust, rot, and catch fire? Are you after a degree or God? Are you subject to God's plan for your life, or are you just going to school to make money so you can live a good life? If you're single, are you looking for God's will and surrendering to it, or are you looking for a partner and then hoping to get back on track with God? As an elder, minister, usher, Sunday School teacher, or church member, have you given up everything and are you ready to follow Him? God isn't interested in titles; He's interested in submission.

To get to Straight Street, you need to realise how lost you are and how much Jesus loves you. You also need to be humble before God, give up your will and plans for His, and walk in blind obedience. Take a look at Ananias in Acts 9:10–14. He did what Jesus told him to do even though he didn't understand why: he went to the Straight Street to see Brother Paul and pray for him. He went to Saul even though he knew and told Jesus that Saul was a dangerous man who could kill him. Yet he said, "Yes, Lord!"!

There are times when God tells you to do something that doesn't make sense. It doesn't make sense that God would tell you to do it, no matter how hard you try. Noah built an ark in the middle of nowhere when it hadn't rained yet, even though it didn't make sense. If he hadn't, he and his family would have been lost. God didn't have to tell Joshua to walk around Jericho seven times and then blow the horns. If he hadn't, the walls would still be there, and they would have lost. Moses didn't know why he crossed the Red Sea, but Pharaoh would have taken them back as slaves if he hadn't. God often tells you to do things that don't make sense. To obey God in the way that He wants, we must have complete trust in our Master.

Also, before you can get to Straight Street, you have to be ready to die for yourself. Luke 9:9 (NIV) He didn't eat or drink anything for three days, and he was blind. This is a picture of giving up the things that are made of flesh. It's a picture of giving up our rights, our way of life, and our bad habits.

We can also get to Straight Street by praying. 9:11 (NIV) 11 "Go to the house of Judas on Straight Street and ask for a man from Tarsus named Saul. He is praying there," the Lord told him.

Prayer is very important. Prayer is how we talk to God. It's where we admit it. Our place is where we get the tools we need to fight the enemy of our soul. It's our only way to get help. God, help us pray more in our own lives, with our families, and at church. Let's promise God every day that we will spend valuable time with Him. Let's promise to pray as a family. Let's agree to pray together. Each of us will get to Straight Street through prayer. Our family will get to Straight Street through prayer. Our church will get to Straight Street through prayer.

How do we get to Straight Street and live there so that our relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ can start over?

Brethren, to sum up, the answers to this question are:
1. We need to know where we stand with God right now! ... and we need a new look at Jesus.
2. We need to be humble in front of the Lord and walk in a humble way.
3. We must give up everything and fully trust in the Lord's plans and will.
4. We have to walk in complete obedience.
5. We have to die to self.
6. We need to hope.

What happens when we get to Straight Street?

Luke 9:12 (NIV): "He had a dream that a man named Ananias came up to him and put his hands on him to heal him and... bring him back to Light (Jesus Christ) John 8:12. We must leave the darkness behind and walk into the light of a fresh start with Jesus Christ.

God bless you.

If you want to give your life to Jesus Christ right just say this short prayer now: "Lord Jesus, I come to you now. Take over my life and make my world a better place. I leave the devil behind and enter the Kingdom of Light. Thank You for forgiving me and saving me today. In the name of Jesus, I pray.

Congratulations!!!

“Therefore, if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new." 2 Corinthians 5:17 (KJV).

Peace!

Religion / Is God Alone Or With Someone Else? by AntiChristian: 10:48pm On Dec 04, 2023
God is alone
Isaiah 46:9-11: "The Lord Alone Is God - I alone am God! There are no other gods; no one is like me.

Isaiah 43:11-21 (GNTA): "I alone am the Lord, the only one who can save you. I predicted what would happen, and then I came to your aid. No foreign god has ever."

Isaiah 44:24: "Thus saith the Lord thy redeemer, and thy maker, from the womb: I am the Lord, that make all things, that alone stretch out the heavens, that establish...

Isaiah 43:11-13: "I alone am the LORD; only I can rescue you.

Isaiah 37:20, it says, "And now, O LORD our God, save us from his hand, so that all the kingdoms of the earth may know that You alone, O LORD, are God." This verse emphasizes that the Lord is alone and there is no other God like Him.

God is not alone but with word!

In John 1:1, it states, "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God."

Visions of One God on throne!
Ezekiel 10:4: "The glory of the Lord filled the temple. Then the glory of the Lord rose from above the cherubim and moved to the threshold of the temple. The cloud filled the temple, and the court was full of the radiance of the glory of the Lord."

Revelation 4:2: "At once I was in the Spirit, and there before me was a throne in heaven with someone sitting on it."

Psalm 11:4: "The Lord is in his holy temple; the Lord is on his heavenly throne. He observes everyone on earth; his eyes examine them."

Father and son seated separately with son on the right
Mark 16:19:"After the Lord Jesus had spoken to them, he was taken up into heaven and he sat at the right hand of God."

Acts 7:55-56 : "But Stephen, full of the Holy Spirit, looked up to heaven and saw the glory of God, and Jesus standing at the right hand of God. 'Look,' he said, 'I see heaven open and the son of Man standing at the right hand of God.'"

1. So where is the Holy spirit seated?
2. Why the contradictions?
3. If the father, son and holy spirit are one being in three persons then why does the son have to sit on the right and the holy spirit AWOL?
4. Why is there no specific mention of trinity in the entire Bible except for a dubious interpolation added to the KJVs in 1 John 5:7 and 1 Timothy 3:16?
5. How is the father, son and spirit one when sin against the father and son is forgivable but not that against the spirit?
6. How does a God have another God? I mean Jesus claiming he was going to his father and to his God!
7. How does a God worship another God putting his face on the ground while praying? Does he need to pray if he's one with God? Does he need to pray after all authority has been given to him?
8. The father is God 100%. The son is God 100% and human 100%! Yet Jesus said his father is greater than him! He's supposed to be greater than his father with his God-human hermaphroditic nature! How come?

Islam for Muslims / Parental Rights In Islam by Jumuahsermon: 1:47pm On Dec 01, 2023
_Bismillah Rahmani Raheem_

Parents have an important and high status in Islam, which Allah has associated in His Noble Book with worshiping Him. Almighty Allah said: ( And your Lord has decreed that you should not worship except Him, and that He be good to parents.)

These rights are varied to cover the needs of the parents, until the child reaches the perfection of righteousness.

TALK TO THEM KINDLY AND KINDLY
The best people for a son and his Muslim companion to talk to are his parents, and talking to them makes them feel important, such as when a child asks for his parents’ opinion on some issues. This makes the parents feel that their words have value. A man came to the Messenger of Allah - may God bless him and grant him peace - and said: Who Do people have the most right to my good companions? (He said: Your mother. He said: Then who? He said: Then your mother. He said: Then who? He said: Then your mother. He said: Then who? He said: Then your father. )

OBEY THEM WITH KINDNESS
The relationship between parents and children cannot be complete without obedience from children to parents , and obedience to parents in every good thing they are able to do is obligatory for the son, provided that this does not cause him great hardship, and the son must exert his effort to obey his parents as much as he can.

He must not refuse to obey them unless they command him to disbelieve in Almighty Allah
Allah said: (And We have enjoined on mankind to be good to his parents, but if they strive against you to associate with Me that of which you have no knowledge, then do not obey them), Or command him to sin; Then there is no obedience to the parents, for example if they ask him to take a usurious loan

SPENDING ON THEM
The son must support his parents in two cases: If Almighty Allah decreed poverty and need for them, in addition to the father’s inability to work and earn, then the father’s maintenance becomes obligatory for the son, so he spends on his parents in a reasonable manner that spares them from asking people, and it is within the limits of his ability. Prophet Muhammad (SAW) says: (Indeed , The best thing you eat is from your earnings, and your children are from your earnings . ) If the father is well off and not in need, he is not obligated to provide maintenance. But good care and spending on parents is considered an honor for the parents. By taking good care of them and spending on them out of perfect righteousness.

ACCOMPANYING THEM IN THIS WORLD, EVEN IF THEY ARE POLYTHEISTS
Accompanying one’s parents means sitting with them for a long time, talking to them, and bringing joy to their hearts. The Qur’an has stressed the importance of this character even if the religion differs between them. Almighty Allah said: (And if they strive with you to associate with Me that of which you have no knowledge, then do not obey them and their companion in religion.) Intend to be kind And follow the path of him who turns to Me, and then to Me is your return, and I will inform you of what you used to do . )
Do not offend them Islam forbids insulting parents by word or deed, and even by sight, it forbids a son to look at his parents as if he were to curse them. And cursing parents is a major sin. Prophet Muhammad SAW said -: ( Among the major sins is a man cursing his parents. They said: O Messenger of Allah, does he curse? The man and his parents? He said: Yes, if he curses a man’s father, he will curse his father, and if he curses his mother, he will curse his mother

PUTTING MOTHER’S HONOR AHEAD OF FATHER’S
The mother is tender-hearted and it is her nature to be gentle, even if she is entitled to herself. The mother may neglect her rights for the sake of her children, so you will find that Islam has prioritized the righteousness of the mother over the righteousness of the father, due to her enduring hardships. Prophet Muhammad SAW said: (Indeed, Allah commands you. Your mothers are three things. Indeed, Allah enjoins you upon your fathers. Fulfilling the mother’s financial, health, and social rights takes precedence over the father’s rights

RESPECTING THEM AND SUBMITTING TO THEM
A Muslim is required to show pride except in the presence of his parents. The basic principle is that he should show them humility with speech and gentle treatment, and that he should not exalt himself over his parents with knowledge or money. Rather, he must show the superiority of his parents over him with knowledge, experience, and wisdom. The Almighty Allah said: (And your Lord has decreed that you should not worship anyone but Him . And be kind to your parents. Whether one or both of them reach old age with you, do not say bad words to them, nor rebuke them, but speak to them a kind word. And lower to them the wing of humility out of mercy, and say, “my Lord, have mercy on them as they raised me when I was little. ”

HONOR THEM WHEN THEY GROW OLD Almighty Allah said: (And keep company with them in this world with kindness) , Almighty Allah commanded the children to stay with their parents and check on their conditions, and did not specify a time for that, whether during their youth or infirmity, but this is confirmed in the event of their greater need and inability, so the children must remain loyal. Their parents at all times in this world so that they may earn the honor of their parents. If the parents get older, they need more care and attention, even if they have money. The elderly person needs someone to take care of his concerns outside the home, and he needs someone to talk to him, and the son must show them the importance of their experience in life, as honoring parents is more important and obligatory in As they get older

pray for THEM
Praying for parents is an act of worship by which a son draws closer to Almighty Allah. He prays for his parents with faith and piety and a good ending, even after their death. Prophet Muhammad SAW explained the fruit of a son’s supplication for his parents, saying: (A man follows up with good deeds like mountains, so he says, “Am I this? ” It is said, “Your son asks for your forgiveness.

Praise GOD

As hands are laid on you, I pray for unusual grace for sustainable connectivity that will keep you going without sweat,” Bishop Oyedepo prayed.

The Apostle over the Living Faith Commission, Bishop David Oyedepo, has endorsed his son’s new ministry while admonishing him not to speak ill or malign any church during his ministerial work, according to a video shared by his son, Isaac Oyedepo, on his X account.

The video was shared on Tuesday.

The YouTube video showed Bishop Oyedepo addressing a congregation believed to be his son’s church members.

my son, His times are not in your hands. Your times are in His hands. Don’t be part of maligning or bringing down any ministry,” Bishop Oyedepo said. “Some years ago, someone stood up to give a testimony and to malign TREM and Deeper Life, and I corrected it immediately. Never get to a point where you say this thing is only happening with me.”

Bishop Oyedepo advised his son against imitating new-generation ministers, praying for him and his wife Ayomitide.

As hands are laid on you, I pray for unusual grace for sustainable connectivity that will keep you going without sweat. I pray that impact will be your goal, not good preaching but great impact, and I pray that your life will interpret your message in the name of Jesus.

“As you step into this new phase of your assignment, may you be clothed with humility. I have never begged, yet I have never lacked; I have never borrowed, yet I have never lacked
,” Bishop Oyedepo prayed.

The younger Oyedepo recently unveiled his own church, The Isaac Oyedepo Evangelistic Ministries.

Politics / Congratulations To The New Silk Of A Different Hue.- Dr. Kayode Ajulo San. by aguele(m): 8:26am On Nov 30, 2023
I had for years been facinatingly enamoured by the highest professional recognition in Nigeria for lawyers mostly in practice called "the silk".

This is like the zenith of personal desire, fulfilment and professional accomplishment for lawyers in Nigeria and virtually all lawyers want and desire to see that day when they will be pronounced by the Legal Practitioners and Privileges Committee.

So every year this committee would identify deserving legal practitioners, those who must have not only met the professional qualifications, but also found worthy in character, just like its said during convocation in the university back then, using that phrase "having satisfied this institution in "character and learning "

So every year not only do the lawyers in practice look forward with bated breath, members of the public also join legal practitioners to await those who will step up to wear the silk, those who will enter the inner recesses of privileges, the holy of holies, the innermost sanctuary of the legal practice.

I do not know why and how this esteemed profession, came about adopting and depicting the highest professional honour with the fabric known as "Silk".

The unlearned me, had wondered why not cotton? Sanyan? Alaari Baba Aso?Ofi? Etu? Ishiagwu? Apa? Or even Linen?

You know this profession and their preference to want to be seen and taken differently, if not more superior to everyone else, and not even to Medical Practitioners would they allow to share that level of reverence with them.

First, its being learned, they would tell you that you can be "educated but not learned" and now the "silk".

Well they are the learned men after all!

So my fascination and inquisitiveness brought me to the point where I wanted to unravel this mystery so many years ago, some fifteen years ago, I took on the voyage to put together a compendium book titled "The Silkmen"

So I started by approaching Uncle Wole Olanipekun SAN, for reference to the then President of the Nigeria Bar Association [NBA] i think Arakunrin Rotimi Akeredolu SAN, now Governor of Ondo State, and the Oldest SAN at the time Baba Bankole Oki SAN.

The project was well received by Chief Wole Olanipekun, SAN and others

However that voyage of mine got aborted somewhat the year that some kind of crisis broke about the nominations for this highest position.

There was uproar about some nominees for this exalted recognition who nominations were mirred in controversy as exclusively the prerogative of the legal practitioners and privileges committee.

The issues then were around some discontent about the "SAN worthiness" of some people for the highest position with rife allegations, Some alleged overt and covert influences, that ensured that some people made the esteemed nominations while others perceived to be more deserving by both the practitioners and members of the public were denied.

Some personalities also not deemed fit for the silk either for the views they held against government or being punished for different reasons or denied simply because they were not favoured of lacking in contact and reach.

Some people even alleged that untoward influences in many ways were being exerted on the committee which almost led to the agitation for ethnic balancing in the nominations, allegations that people of a particular nationality were always more on the list than others, with this came bloated numbers being nominated every year, and people began to see it more like a social title.

And then came the debate as to wether to admit persons in the academia and all that, for a while the highest professional recognition for the learned profession was on trial or so it would seem.

That crisis lingered for sometime and I had to rest the BOOK expedition painfully but that did not stop my fascination for the SILK and the attainment of the SILK by deserving persons, So every year, I am always keen on those who made it.

It is gratifying to observe today that the learned profession had overcome all that drama of those years, leading to the restoration of the public regard and professional respect, class, rating, status and profile of this professional recognition to its pristine place as intended and the status is back. MAYBE I WILL WAKE UP THE PROJECT.. hmmm...

When honour is well deserved and earned, even your enemies will agree.. 👏

So when the list of final nominees was announced this year, I quickly scanned through to see those who made it and a name popped up in my face, it was the name of my brother and friend, Dr. Kayode Ajulo, the Akure, Ondo State born legal practitioner.

I was excited and greatly delighted because I believe Kayode had qualified and merited this a long time ago.

This professional recognition had been Long in coming indeed for this very cerebral, Affable, Amiable, Charismatic, Endearingly pleasant young man of variegated hue and nobility.

This is a proven Quintessential, Debonair, Urbane and Humane City and People's Lawyer .

I had been friends with Kayode Ajulo for over two decades, our paths crossed in our early days as young concerned Nigerians with eyes and heart for the struggle for a better society. We were bonded by our agitated minds.

This was what we espoused and championed via our incisive comments and commentaries in our private and public discourse, in our writings in Newspapers and appearances on National Television stations at several times.

Kayode as a young deeply intelligent personality and legal practitioner, always impeccably dressed with his ubiquitous bow tie to match would make and marshal his viewpoints clearly from a heart that feels the pains of the weak and infirm, desirous of a great nation that we believe is realisable.

Kayode Ajulo believes that one of the most enduring and sustaining pillars of good society is the law and he had over the years deployed this in the pursuit of social justice and as a crusader of sort for an egalitarian society. Many cases of the poor, weak, deprived and denied, he handled pro bono!

After becoming learned, he had gone ahead to become more educated and today he has a place amidst the additionally esteemed class of Senior Advocates of Nigeria with a P.hd, like Dr Olumide Ayeni, Koyinsola Ajayi etc so from Simply Kayode Ajulo ESQ, he is now Dr. Kayode Ajulo SAN!

As i approached the Abuja Continental Hotel post -investiture reception venue, and I beheld the long snarling traffic human and vehicular, many people parking their cars on side walks not able to gain access into the hotel, I said it has to be the vintage Kayode to pull this huge crowd.

I met a friend and brother at the gate, Honourable Supo, who said there must be other newly invested SANs also hosting guests there, i told him, i am sure all these people turned up for Kayode.

Little wonder when Dr Bode Olajumoke , the chairman of the event opened his remarks with the apologies for using that venue that is nowjam packed, saying that this reception should have been at the stadium.

Whoever knows the Ladi Kwali Hall would appreciate the size, and it was filled to capacity with men and women from all walks of life and across a broad Spectrum of the Nigerian landscape! All for this young man, truly a silk of different hue !

Kayode Ajulo's persona made the venue look like a small room!

No better attestation and affirmation of the consensus that this new SAN is deserving of this esteemed honour than the attendance and the infectious conviviality that pervaded the venue.

This speaks of and to the persona and personality of Dr Kayode Ajulo, a man of different parts to so many people, open minded, liberal progressive.

The common denominator is that he is adored by the young and loved by the old, that is why he is like a son to Baba Edwin Clark till this day, very highly regarded by his Seniors and a pride to his peers and colleagues.

Dr Ajulo has high impressionable personality, from his intellect, and intellectual repository to his capacity to identify with everyone in their situations and positions, you can not forget Kayode Ajulo in a hurry after an encounter with him.

I recall three instances in our relationship that dates back to years, first when my political movement came under assault, and my travails started with incidentally another but this time a different Kayode, he met with me to discuss the matter ostensibly on the strength of his knowledge of my near servitude defined loyalty to Governor Kayode Fayemi.

He said he found the development greatly disturbing and was deeply concerned about how our relationship had gone sour, I explained my side in a very long discussion, and he kept saying " ha.. ko ye ki Egbon se beyen"i.e "our senior brother should not have done that" he promised to intervene and I thanked him for his concerns but told him not to bother as it would come to nought anyway, just like many people who had done so previously. That's Dr Kayode Ajulo for you, a lover of peace situated in the bowels of justice and fairness.

The second instance, was when I started the continental NGO, oneunitedAfrica, while we were trying to nominate people on to the board, Bro Femi, Senator Femi Ojudu nominated Dr Kayode Ajulo, he asked me if I knew him , and I said yes, very well too, and that I had no objection. So he asked me to see Dr.Ajulo.

When I got to his Maitama law office, Dr. Ajulo was enthusiastic about the NGO, and our Pan Africanism Rennaisance thrust, triggered by the Xenophobic attacks of the year 2020 in South Africa.

Within minutes of our discussions, sharing his deep insights about the conundrum, he quickly appointed a junior in his Chambers to be the desk officer, mandated her to proceed with the registration of the NGO and offered to pay for the registration and associated costs.

Another moment was when I needed to get an approval for a project that one man sat on, at BPP, under President Jonathan, I discussed with him, Kayode took me to General Arogbofa, the then Chief of Staff to the President to intervene.

This is the vintage Kayode Ajulo, always willing to assist, giving of himself and putting his means at the disposal of anyone, for the well being of others and in pursuit of common goals and noble causes.

This explains the teeming admirers who showed up for him on this great day of acknowledgement of a life devoid of bile and guile but of extension of warmth to all accentuated by professional trackrecord of distinction .

Dr. Kayode Ajulo is one man with rare gift of mediation, such that if you are in the wrong, he will tell you in such a way that you will admit your errors gleefully ,I have seen him intervene in matters and both parties feeling so satisfied with his mediatory roles

Dr Ajulo is a die hard home boy, one of his greatest passions is the love for his people, town and State, he once aspired to represent them at the Senate, a very people centric person, I was his guest at one of the events when he was recognised in Akure, under the late Deji,Oba Adebiyi Adesida, the love of his people for him was so gripping and palpable.

This must have informed the comment of the legendary ace broadcaster Mr Cyril Stober of Nigeria Television Authority who was the compere of the event, that with the crowd of quality audience and people from all walks of life in attendance, the event was not a case of who was there, it was a case of who was not there at the reception.

The following personalities came in, to honour this man of honour on this day when he got admitted into the sanctum reserved for distinguished and esteemed legal luminaries in Nigeria, a place he is fit to be.

Surely it will take a man like Dr. Kayode Ajulo to put this array and impressive 👏 rainbow assemblage together under one roof.

We had Deputy Governor of Ondo State, H.E Lucky Aiyedatiwa, the very personable and performing Honourable Minister of Interior, Rt. Hon Bunmi Tunji Ojo, the leading in scores and Poster -Minister of the President Bola Ahmed Tinubu's administration, a Minister who has effectively transmitted the renewed hope mandate to Nigerians in real terms within one month of his appointment, accomplishing what No Minister in that Ministry had done in four or more years.

He was accompanied by Honourable Minister for Youth Affairs, Ayo Olawande Wisdom.

Other dignitaries includes Retired Justices of the Supreme Court, Justice Rhodes Vivour and other Ministers in the temple of justice, respected leader Chief Bode Olajumoke, Former Attorney General of Nigeria, Prince Tokunbo Kayode, Senators, Jimoh Ibrahim, Babafemi Ojudu, Dayo Adeyeye, Osita Izunaso Adegbonmire, Honourable Members from Ondo State, Honourables Adefarati, Adetimehin, Omogbenigun, AVM Ojuawo Rtd were all there, my dear Egbon, Barrister Babatunde Ogala SAN, my friend, Biodun, the Attorney General of Oyo State also showed up, Mr Kingsely Kuku, Head Presidential Amnesty Programme, Dr. Ifedayo Oyedele, Executive Director, Power Holdings, Hon. Cairo Ojuogboh, who also doubled in representative capacity, stood in for Papa Edwin Clark, the APC National Youth leader, [Olori awa odo]Mr. Dayo Israel, Barr. Debo Ologunagba, PDP, National publicity Secretary, Barrister Yemi Ayodele Ayeni[YAA] all were in attendance. So many other dignitaries that my fleeting stay did not allow me to see.

I have no doubts that Dr Kayode Ajulo will continue to use his elevation to this esteemed rank in the legal practice to push for a society that works, as he had done commitedly on his way to this day and as embedded in his DNA.

I join his family and numerous admirers and friends to congratulate this very charming and affable young man as i pray for more years of more accomplishments and fulfilment, personal and professional 🙏.

This is a toast to the people's lawyer, a silk of different hue.. Dr Kayode Ajulo SAN.

Best wishes in the days and years ahead, I am sure you are already looking forward to another height to conquer.
