Yep! I also joined the re-cooked ogbono fraternity many years ago (not being igbo and all), and it's delicious. The only thing that got killed was a cow. |
Thanks, y'all. This is one more hobby in my ever expanding "collection". Therefore any other ideas on links, books and sources, etc are welcome. Drusilla:Interestingly, and very sadly a lot of us project an undeserved benevolence on their colonial intentions and actions, and a few even pine for a return. |
The reason why 4-5-1 could work for Arsenal and not for France, is simply swift counter-attacking. Have you seen any evidence of that in this French team? |
As this debate seems to be taking a tail-spin, I feel inclined to add a link to a rebuttal to the original one; http://www.ceddert.com/Rigging_nigerian_history.htm Oga, Kazey. I'm sure that Brunei has more per capital oil than nigeria. What do you think Delta state, or Bayelsa would be like if it kept all it's oil revenue, even after making provisions for corruption at the going rate. |
kazey, Brunei! You go kill me with laughter. What does British rule have to do with the oil wealth in this country of a handful of people. Abi dem plant the oil for them. You seem not to realise that all the wealth ends up in the emirs' and his cronies pockets. All those GDP figures are to say the least very misleading. Drusilla, thx for enlightening me o jare. Afeni, where's the superior link, I'm waiting. |
@Kazey, you seem to have found 1 example where 'long' colonisation appears to have been beneficial. Just out of curiosity, can you find 3 more examples. No, in fact, just 2 more examples. Is it colonisation that got Japan, Korea where they are, and more recently China and India's giant strides. Just curious. |
@Drusilla. I defintely don't advocate swallowing everything hook, line and sinker. The meat of the gist is not Britains intention, in my view, but the happenings around our "independence". It's obviously one mans take on the events leading up to and following 1960, which will almost definitely not be all 100% accurate, especially as the guy was really embittered. However, a lot of it rings true and corresponds to what many people have already been saying. No, I haven't actually read all the essays, but I'm working on it. |
I stumbled upon the following link; http://www.libertas.demon.co.uk/index.htm Makes for very interesting reading. I'd be interested in knowing what everyone thinks |
His special talent is definitely not in question here. |
Question is, Is McD a better choice or a better brand? You seem to have conceeded that it is a better brand. |
@constantin, I'd like to know when last you were in Nigeria. We have industrious Nigerian companies building their own fast food brands, and succesfully too. Our very own Mr Biggs is even opening outlets in Ghana. Please, if the only yardstick you have for developemnet is excess-fat inducing muck from MacDonald's, Abeg hold am. |
gr8t:If you know anything about the coach, then you will know that spending money on a player and not using the player is his stock in trade. Funny thing is you yourself are making assumptions. While mine is based on the past actions of Mourinho, and the evidence of the large number of experienced midfielders that Mikel has to compete against, yours is based on nothing. So where does your intelligence stand? |
Henry has scored 42 goals in 75 champions league matches. He is the 6th highest scorer of all time in the old European Cup and champions league. The only players ahead of him that are still playing the game are Raul, Sheva and van Nistelrooy. How ordianry is that? Stop beefing the guy abeg. |
Please, also look beyond all the goals scored in the premiership, Europe and for France. All totally irrelevant. |
Can someone just google and tell me how many french strikers, ever have scored more goals for France than Henry, and how many people, ever have scored more champions league goals, or premiership goals? whatever yardstick you use, he's still one of the greatest goal scorers currently playing the game. Period. And yes, Arsenal play to Henry's strength better than the French team. Thats the genius of Wenger. |
Well, FIFA does not have world cup places for more or even less Arab countries. They represent the CAF region, so we can as well adopt them. |
You're forgetting Angola( Darn!) and Tunisia, who are 1 up against Saudi now. |
Seychelles! |
Beep!!! Wrong! It means we're all one race, not black, not white, not yellow, as opposed to the rat race, dog race, donkey race, lion race, etc. |
I wish you could really delete "da thought", unfortunately, he's carrying it around in his head. |
@Rhoda, really? Are you saying I'm not human? |
I prefer my own race also. The human race. ![]() |
I'm from Nigeria as well. |
I think it's Brazil, Argentina, Italy, Spain. England and Germany are at par for me. If the Czech can keep up the perfomance form the 1st match, then I have to throw them into the mix. |
England probably has "the strongest team" in years, but question is, are they strong enough to win it. NO! Don't believe the hype. I can see that hope springs eternal for you young one. Goodluck! |
