The fact that it's a gift, means there's at least one string attached. Well, if it's wrapped. Only in this case, you may not be able to just untie the string, dump it in a waste basket, and keep the gift, and say thank you, like it's your father that gave it to you. You will wake up one fine sunny morning choking, gasping, and clutching for dear life, and that same string will be around your neck. Greek gift! |
Ehehn! I never knew there was a Nigerian context. Wonderful! |
Don want nobody stalking my ass! ![]() |
What a curious bunch! |
@lagerwhenindoubt. Man, you've got that much information? That sort of info is gold, at least to me. I've been desperately looking for such. Is there any way of sharing it? |
It's not money that is just left around doing nothing. It's usually actively managed. It can also be used to stabilise the local currency from speculation and other shocks. Wether the level of reserves that we have is optimal is another debate entirely. |
Golftwo:Oga, is it proper or not? What is all this double speak? It's not proper, except she deserves it? Phew! ![]() |
first of all, I don't have a boyfriend . But seriously, I never saw "beat her up" in any job description for a boyfriend. Lock his ass up! |
It'll always be just your own version of the truth. which honestly, we're all entitled to |
Voice of treason, if I'm to go by the responses you're getting. ![]() |
You obviously got me wrong then. I was not implying that someone did magic, only that it's a good thing whichever way we arrived at it. |
Ashiwaju:Debt free, relative to say last year. No production and exportation will not fall. We haven't built up the foreign reserves because of the quantity of crude produced. it's the current high price that has been of benefit. It's quite simple really. ![]() |
we need those reserves to be as healthy as possible. As someone said, what would happen if the price of crude crashes. I'm not an economist, but does anyone else appreciate the irony that now we're debt free, and have much healthier reserves, we can more easily go and borrow money? |
Wish you the very best! Enjoy the ride, it'll get pretty rough sometimes. If you can both survive, the rewards are great. |
Incredible! @Afeni, you almost sound repentant. Or is all this softness reserved for GL? |
Diva Peach: Oh My, |
disney:For the sake of argument, lets say he uses contraception( 3 methods at once). what next? |
Hey people! The guy said she usually rejects his requests, not always. Therefore, there are no virgins involved here. Give the guy a break. He needs sex. Oga, believe it or not, you will always want sex more often than your girl can give. You have 2 options. 1) Have another girlfriend, she'll be on standby when the other one is recuperating ( Not the recommended option) 2) Hold yourself ( thats the patience all those girls are screaming about) . O and I almost forgot the third option 3) self-service yourself. |
These things can be tricky, if not handled properly. I guess I got lucky, since I'm married to my former office love. Whatever you do; 1) Don't violate office policy, or you'll get the sack. 2) Keep it out of the office as much as possible. Do not mix bisuness and pleasure. 3) Don't do it by the copier after hours, when you think you're alone in the office. 4) Do your work well. Be professional always. Don't let the infatuation slaken your performance. 5) Don't rush it. This is one situation where slow and steady is much better. 6) Don't make any assumptions. If you have feelings for her, let her know, and let her decide if she feels the same way as you do. Otherwise, get over it. 7) Avoid becoming the target of office gossip. By following the steps above. Don't do anything stupid. Don't ask for "advice" regarding the relationship from your co-workers. When the relationship kicks off, one of you may have to make an effort to change jobs. It helps. Also keep it from your colleagues as much as possible, till the relationship has matured significantly. Thats how I did it. |
Na wa O! We still dey for here? Incredible! |
It's accurate for you to note that religion is culture ( although, I'd say largely not merely ). Note also that culture is and has never been static. You seem to be able to write quite good English ( when you're not insulting people ). If you ask me English was forced on Africa as well. If we where to follow your argument to it's logical conclusion, you won't be speaking English, you probably won't be writing anything at all. You'd also not wear jeans, or t-shirts, you'd be studying Ifa as an apprentice of some high priest somewhere in Oshogb, etc. You can keep acting smug thinking you're wiser than everyone else, or you can realise that you've also been compromised my friend. You're not the top dog you think you are after all. |
I sure hope "sil" is not the first 3 letters of a word that just occured to me? |
Sorry, I meant buddism originated in India |
I can't believe such ignorance. To start with christianity is not a British religion. It is Jewish. therefore @jagunlabi, most great nations in the world practice an "imported" religion. In fact, I can't think of any, maybe except china. Ah, buddism originated in china. Please give me 1 eg of a so called advanced nation that practices an indeginous religion. Islamic civilization produced a lot of advances in mathemaitics and other fields, a lot of which we stilll use today. If you guys choose to believe in your grandfathers corpses, it's your headache, and I cannot begrudge you the benefit. But please don't insult or berate other people's beliefs, no matter how stupid they may sound to you. believe me other people feel the same way about you, very strongly. |
I really don't understand the reason why some people are suggesting that an intellectual cannot run Nigeria. I f you ask me, I'll say an intellectual is exactly what we need. The problems Nigeria is facing right now require bold, brilliant and unconventional solutions. There's a difference between a theorist, and someone who has implemented an idea succesfully. I think Utomi has demonstarted many times in his career, that he not only can generate ideas, but also implement them. The only question really is, does he have the strength, determination, cunning to outsmart Nigeria's "instituitional investors". The fight will not be easy for any outsider trying to intrude on the politicians "daily bread." |
