I read the max they fly for preggies is 35weeks from their site but they said the doctor has to include his diploma number in the fit to fly letter. Please what is a diploma number?
What they mean by Diploma number is the certification or membership number. That is Arab ways of referring to certificates.

Hello House,

@ Forevermine:
Congratulationsssssss on your visa, and wish safe trip and above all safe delivery......
I will pm you now.......

Congrat once again..

@segbas, here's the transcript of my visa interview. Got there at about 6.50am, interview was slated for 7.30am at Abuja. Got through all the check in processes and finally got to sit. Only one young white lady was interviewing initially bt was later joined by a young friendly white guy. Was praying to meet d guy cos the lady approved one person and denied 2peeps before me(tho I think she had reason to). I was the 4th person she interviewed. Went with my MIL.

VO: Goodmorning and how are you today?
We: very well, thank you. Goodmorning.
VO: she looks at screen- 'So you're going to have a baby?'
Me: BABIES, actually (with emphasis on the ies)- make she hear am well
VO: OH WOW. pass me ur doctor's correspondence and bank statements. I did that, including my dad's and MIL's statement and a letter from my dad. But ontop of the statements, I put my very bold/eye-catching budget spreadsheet (God bless the person that gave this info cos that's what impressed her)
VO: who is this from?(referring to my dad's letter/bank statement)
Me: it's my dad's, he's also supporting me.
VO: is this your own budget cost? (she scans through the spreadsheet meticulously and makes sure the items correspond to what Dr. fagbohun has in his letter to me)
Me: Yes Ma'am.
VO: are u having twins/ triplets?
Me: told her.
VO: turns to my MIL. How much do you earn?
MIL: told her, plus where she works
VO: Have you travelled outside Nigeria before
We: yeah
VO: where to exactly?
We: mentioned the countries
VO: what does your husband do?
Me: told her
VO: what city are you going to?
ME: Richmond, Texas
VO begins typing oh, I just dey sing praises/kabash for my mind.
VO: pick up your visas on Thursday.
We: thank you. We turned and left with so much joy.

In all I just thank God cos though I prepared well(thanks to phema's checklist and burden of proof), all that could have come to nothing if God didn't favour me/approve.
Be confident, pray seriously and hope for the best.

@all, have a blessed Sunday. Sorry for the long post.
TravelRe: Give Birth In USA: Cost And Procedure? by segbas(m): 7:04am On Feb 01, 2015
Seconded...
I spoke with a friend last night (US National), he said same thing that he can't leave US with another passport unless he want his second country to be his first, and he won't be able to exercise US citizenship again.

Amother4life:
A US citizen MUST DEPART or REENTER the United States on a US passport at all times.
Even though your baby can get dual citizenship through the parents, he cannot exercise that citizenship within the United states. Bottom line: As long as he is within the United States or in an American flagged carrier -His US citizenship overrides anything else.

TravelRe: Give Birth In USA: Cost And Procedure? by segbas(m): 7:04pm On Jan 31, 2015
I don't think is possible like that, since he was born in US you have to do it there. The one they process in Nigeria are for those who are born by an American parent but not in US and other US citizen that need to renew their passport. I think I stand to be corrected.

baauh:
Is it possible that after getting Baby delivery and getting the Birth certificate, we leave USA on our own country passport.
Then apply for USA passport from the consulate in our home country.

@Miemiecious:
Sorry for your denial:

Which doctor are you using and the hospital,
Did you include all your email/fax conversations with the doctor's appointment you gave to the VO
Did you enough fund in your account?
Did you book for hotel or you want to stayed with relation?

Please respond to these so that people will know how to tackle this issue before your next appointment.

Miemiecious:

@forevermine: Congratulation on your visa. Please, kindly share you VO experience.

forevermine:
Hello everyone.
I got my visa 2days ago. All the information I used( and I mean ALL) was obtained from this thread.
I'm grateful to all who have contributed in no small measure to this thread. You guys are fulfilling dreams and changing lives!
Indeed honesty is the best policy.
My steadfast daily visit to this thread since August 2013 plus having 2 jotters full of info has finally paid off. I remember the days/reign of uchetobi, thababe, jyde2014 etc around this time last year, and used to fantasize when my dreams will turn to plans and then to reality.
Please a quick question( can't find the page where someone posted all the airline policies/restrictions regarding preggies. Can someone please help with that?
Also please has anyone used Lufthansa to Houston? How was the experience?
Thanks once again, and may God bless everyone richly.

Please those who accompanied their spouse, how did you fill DS160 form? As for the Pregnant mother, hers is B2, but we (I and our daughter) are we filling B2 OR B1/B2?

Please reply.

You can apply for new passport around April then travel with the 2 passports.

Bernghos:
Dear House,

Please, I intend to travel in May'15 but my passport is expiring in OCT'15. Please, any idea if will be a problem to the CBP at POE?

Cheers!

@PrinceAdeAde:

I understand the visa type is B2 for my wife and what about I and our little Princess, are we going to fill the same B2 or B1/B2?

Please reply.

Thanks.

PrinceAdeAde:
You need a B2 visa for birthing as this is a medical purpose
Applying for Visa lottery is ideally not a filed petition however it depends on how and what your cousin did so if your cousin just went online and filed a visa lottery form for you then that is not a filed petition. if your cousin is a US citizen and officially requested for US citizenship for you, by filling any of the forms in the below links, then it qualifies a filed petition

CareerRe: Any HSE Professionals In The House? by segbas(m): 11:12am On Jan 28, 2015
Start with OSHA to build yourself up and then go for NEBOSH IGC or Oil&Gas depending on your field. Then when you enter fully you will know about other certifications and awards to go for.

miken22:
Thank you Sir.
Please which certification body do you recommend and why? I will appreciate ur advice as you have been on dis since 2008.
So after NEBOSH wat next?
CareerRe: Any HSE Professionals In The House? by segbas(m): 5:44am On Jan 26, 2015
Both Career is a good career depending on your set goal, I studied Public Administration, I worked in Banking sector with it and I have diversified to HSE, and now building my career on it. The ball is in your court, you know where you have most opportunity in life....

Ababadada:
House please I need help. Am a chemistry graduates and I want to go for postgraduate diploma study for Environmental management or Public Administration. Am confuse, I Don't know which one to choose from. My cousin advised me to choose Public Administration for very wide careers level.
CareerRe: Any HSE Professionals In The House? by segbas(m): 5:41am On Jan 26, 2015
You are taking a good step, presently NEBOSH Certificate is the least requirement in most West Africans countries and Mid-East for HSE job, tey and join many forums and learn much about safety.
Oil and Gas pays well and they value Safety compare to construction. I have worked in both and I know the difference. I also diversified from Banking to HSE in 2008. Since then, I have been enjoying it day-by-day, IS A WAY OF LIFE.

My borther, Go For It...........

miken22:
Hello Pple.
Am a Mech. Engr. currently working in the banking sector in Credit risk dept.
Have HSE level 2 certification and I'm interested in obtaining NEBOSH certification too because I wanna switch to Oil and Gas companies. But I want to know how easy it'll be to get a job in Oil n gas sector wit dis certification. Wouldn't want to waste money on certification that wnt give me a huge edge and be recognized.
Thanks for ur advice and contribution.

@Uchetobi: Lol. Will soon apply for visa, and we are going to fly Qatar Airways because we're based in Doha. At least it will minus 7hrs from time from Lagos.

quote author=uchetobi post=30127580]I won't advice anyone to take emirates or Qatar air to the USA, if they can. The journey is long enough without detouring to the Middle East

Plus coming back it may be stressful for the baby

Thank God for safe entry @jublam and safe delivery to your wife
@Jukeblam:

Thank God for safe trip, how are you doing now. Regard to your wife. I have PM you, please reply and if you av gotten a number you can reply with it, I want to ask something from you.

Enjoy America.....

jukeblam:
Wife and I are now in Houston. POE was Dallas and very quick. At first, the officers around did not send my pregnant wife...lol, until I requested she be let to sit somewhere until it was our turn- only then did a lady pass us through an express lane.

CBP: Why are you here?
Me: For vacation and to have a baby
CBP: Why do you wanna have your baby here?
Me: Because we will get better medical care here than what avails in Nigeria
CBP: Any doctors’ correspondence?
Me: Yes- and we show him the emails and bills breakdown
CBP: How much do you have on you?
Me: $10.5k and about $30 equivalent in naira
He takes our fingerprints, scans and stamps us in for 6 months and then on to secondary inspection.

The next CBP asked what the money was for, we replied vacation and childbirth and she gave me a form to fill. Then our boxes were searched; however, the cash wasn't counted.

In all, it took about 45 minutes, then on to Houston via AA.
However, that emirates flight is looooong and the longer Dubai-Dallas legs was filled with not a single free seat; not good for preggies at all- even I couldn't sleep through the two connecting flights.
