i decided to create this topic based on a book i read and id love to share,

when i first came here i wanted to learn basic, then guys said stuff about basic being trash,etc
so i gave up and started bothering wt java,php,jscript etc
For newbie programmers, its the worst mistake u could make.
Basic is meant for newbies and is wonderful, once u understand the basics, you'll understand any program.

e.g. in basic you define variables and work wt em; in java, its the same, just change of syntax.
i'll b posting what i've learnt and this will be about basic
u'd be wowed when u finish, and java,c++ etc will be so easy to learn

you'll need a basic compiler, downloadable @microsoft.com or google for it.
the amazing thing is that it can be on a diskette!

[size=16pt]the first main command in basic is PRINT
this is used to print out xters to d screen, not ur printer
e.g. PRINT "segebee"

well i heard a 12 yr old nigerian got sun certification,

i was first awed by this as i always wanted to be a whizkid

but i read a marvelous book yesterday which made programming so easy and showed that anybody could program.
computer geeks are made from long hours of practise.

TO the point im trying to make, the book saya this about the whizkid:

he is someone not too appreciated by people

then he gets a computer and learns how to program, the computer does what he asks, givin him attention he needs.
it also makes him feel powerful.

he stays up late on the pc, skips schools,foods,etc. instead of fooling wt gals, he's on his comp.

his parents and teachers encourage him, at least he's doin somethin worthwile

soon he develops a huge program, we celebrate, he's probably dropped out of school by now

after 5-10 yrs, he's dropped and no one pays attention to him; he's the price of the computer revolution,

why does this happen,
its because he didn't develop career skills, and when the boss needs more than to program, he's useless.

So ajiboyet and other young programmers, beware! focus on ur education, go to 9ja varsity though its basic you'd be thot,

i don't think there's a theodolite transversing software, if there was it'd be quite expensive.

im also currently learning oracle, and definitely not 9i. im learning 10g and i feel its better than 9i, so i hope you haven't bought the books yet.
im not learning on my own bt at an it school; this is better because organisations wil need to see ur certificate if u want to work in nigeria.
its a very lucrative cost, though its appreciated better overseas.
