RomanceRe: Dating a White Lady (or Man) by SEGUN2003(m): 11:36pm On Oct 27, 2005
It is a fantastic idea for one to continue his/her lineage, but if one can't simply find a perfect or a near likely one. In my own case i am currently living in a place totally predominated by whites, the only very few blacks here aren't just acceptable for one reason or the other, so what should one do in this case? It isn't easy at all, I´m in my 30s without anyone from my lineage to marry and scores of nice, understanding and willing white girls at hand . What should I do in this case? It isn'e easy at all.

CultureRe: What Are You? Yoruba, Ibo or Hausa? by SEGUN2003(m): 7:41pm On Oct 25, 2005
Hey!!! My dearest "GOODGUY" . It is truee indeed that Yoruba is spoken in some parts of Brazil such as BAHIA and others, but is is a bit different though. It is due to the strong slavery ties Nigeria had in the past with Brazil. It is very good though to be known in some places that you are a Yoruba guy here.
BusinessRe: The STB Mastercard Maestro: Credit and Debit Cards in Nigeria by SEGUN2003(m): 12:03am On Oct 25, 2005
We must praise and encourage the idea of having a credit card in Nigeria instead of condemnig it. I have been living here in Brazil which is considered a third world country but you have all the technological facility of the first world countries, even better at times, over here any decent place from a bakery to a butcher not to talk of supermarkets and malls accept credt cards. Thus it is very shameful for me to travel down to my country and find out that no International credit card could be used, nor do they accept traveller's cheque either. So let's encourage the use of these stuffs, it means that slowly our Nigeria is entering a new era. Congrats

By the way, has anyone got an idea about the charge of a run from the airport to Lawanson/Surulere in our dear Naira? I do hope it isn't expensive, otherwise I will have to take Molue. what a hilarious scene this would be, !!!!!!!
Nairaland GeneralRe: Happiest And Saddest Moments in Your Life? by SEGUN2003(m): 3:42am On Oct 23, 2005
My saddest moments occurs whenever I go back to Nigeria. There are so many things I would like to do with my parents, from simple things such as going to a good restaurant with them to pleasant things such as giving them a surprise birthday anniversary just to see that fantastic smile and hugs that only MOM/DAD could give, but they died very early,so they couldn't see that their son that they laboured so hard to educate become a responble man they had always dreamed of. WHAT A CRUEL LIFE!! Wherever you are I LOVE YOU, A LOT. to those of you who has still got your moms and dads, enjoy every second with them while there still time.

TravelAre Taxis in Lagos Now Safe? by SEGUN2003(op): 12:02pm On Oct 16, 2005
The last time I went to Nigeria, I was extremy shocked at the image of the taxis that were waiting for passengers at Murtala M. airport in Nigeria. They were all very old, battered, uncared for, brakeless and dirty. However this was about 7 years ago. Has the taxis been changed for new or at least presentable ones or the tourits are still collected at the airport by these same old taxis? May the God bless us!!!!
CrimeRe: Police Raid Oluwole, the Document Forgery Capital by SEGUN2003(m): 8:15pm On Oct 13, 2005
My fellow Nigerians, I have been living outside for some time now but whenver I hear or read something about Nigeria it is always negative. I have even had to be absent purposely from my work in order to avoid me working mates stares and jokes when Nigerians are shown nationwide on the network Tv because of drugs traffiking/forgery or very negative attitudes because no matter where I am I always speak very positively of Nigeria 'cause "no place is like home".

I think we should always encourage any positive measure taken by any Nigerian authority to rid Nigeria of these negative and nocive elements(fraudsters), so congratulations to NIgerian Police Force. Remember it is better late than never.
TravelAre Amex Traveller's Cheques Or Visa Cards Acceptable in Nigeria? by SEGUN2003(op): 8:07pm On Oct 11, 2005
Good afternoon to everyone down there in my beloved country Nigeria. I would like to know if it is now possible to exchange traveller's cheque or use International credit cards in Nigeria.

The last time I was in Nigeria I could not change any of the the traveller's cheque I took down to Nigeria neither use my International Visa Credit Card. I foung this very disgraceful because how is it possible for one to reach one's own country and hear from all places, even foreign banks based in Nigeria that traveller's cheque aren't acceptable in Nigeria due to fraudsters.

That is why I am asking if traveller's cheques or International visa credit cards are now acceptable. Thanks.
CareerRe: Nigerians Studying Abroad: Would You Go Back Home To Work? by SEGUN2003(m): 11:20pm On Oct 06, 2005
I have in this country for about 20 years now. I came here on my way to the U.S.A and I sort of fell in love with this place at first sight. I have finished my studies a long tima ago and have started working, but I must confess 'there is no place like home". If I have the oportunity of having a very good job with a good salary, I think I will go back home and try to do my part.

Nairaland GeneralRe: The Nigerian Police Force: How do you view them? by SEGUN2003(m): 12:17am On Aug 01, 2005
I haven´t been to Nigeria for quite some time but I occasionaly receive disgraceful news about Nigeria or our Nigerian Police Force on the Tv network here. At times I have to give an excuse of not going to work because my colleagues here make jest of me as Nigeria came out one of these days on the Tv as the most corruptable country in the whole world. May God help those of you in Nigeria.
