I don't understand why should everything positive turn into tribal dispute. Isn't it high time we think and act as if we were one. Let's stop all this foolish tribalism talk. Nigeria is one, divided we fall apart. All this separation talk is boring

You might consider coming to the North East of Brazil, the area is definitely cheaper than places such as São Paulo in the South East

I am very proud to be a Nigerian but at moments like this, when I do read these undesirable commentaries and could observe that some Nigerians are supportive of his attitude, I become very sad and ashamed of being a Nigerian.

Hi guys! I will be spending about a month in Lagos/Nigeria this July. Is it possible to buy a good car at around $2.500,00 - 3000,00 (two thousand and tive hundred up to three thousand dollars) in Lagos? I haven't a minimum idea at to car price or dollar rate in Nigeria. I want to buy a car because I would like to travel a bit around Nigeria and move aroubd in Lagos and eventually when I leave Nigeria, I have the intention of leaving the car with my sister to sell or use?

My fellow Nigerians, do you know why Nigeria is in all these mess? Due to the fact that we are not united at all. It does not matter if someone who steals is a Yoruba, Hausa or Ibo guy. We are all nigerians, PERIOD. What we need to do is find the root of all these evil and cut it off. It saddens me to see people saying this was done by Ibo , Hausa or Yoruba. In thse place where I am when something happens, people use collective terms, they do not indidualize. I pray that one day we are all proud to be brothers( all of us and stop this rubbish of Hausa/Yourba/Ibo)  When we reach this level our Nation will start growinu up in every aspect. May God/Allah bless Nigerians be he Yoruba, Hausa or Ibo.

I was in Nigeria recently and I must say it was not as violent as a lot of people have said. You need not be alarmed, I stayed there for about a month and I was always with money on me. I was not molested in any way. You just need to be careful a bit, but nothing much. The transportation system is rather bad though, for this you might hire a taxi or rent a car. I stayed with my friend´s car and I paid him some amount when I was leaving.

alarinjo,
I think you are going to like it a lot here. I live in the North-East of Brazil, near a city called Recife. It is one of the biggest city in Brazil. The name of this city is Joao Pessoa, It is a small city, very green, nice and cool. I think you should visit a city in the NE. You will definetely love it.

I an extremely disappointed with your behavior SEUN. You started this forum as a mean of we Nigerians giving our opinions wherever we are in all over the world, why then are you attacking me? Isn´t this place supposed to be a democratic channel for us to give our opinions? I never said I was a millionaire who is looking for a place to invest money, I am a struggler who did not have an opportunity in his own land, therefore, is trying to make ends meet here. While I am here I need to read and share my views with my fellow Nigerians and this is what I am doing, so please SEUN you are doing a great job by maintaining this channel open to whosoever want to give his opinion, I did not mean to hurt anyone, I just said what I thought was right so do not dare censure me. This is an undemocratic act and from what I have read from your postings so far, this is unlike you, Thank you and have a nice week.

I was in lagos recently after spending some years abroad and I must say that the scenes of Danfos and Molues plying the roads of Lagos made me sick. I was very ashamed and disgraced, hoe could our people enter, subjected to this type of transportation in God´s name? It is high time these irresponsinble, reckless, lawaless and assasins are removed from the roads of Lagos. My mother was killed due to the irresponsibilty of a molue driver, who up till today was never brought to justice. I can not remember a single benefit these so called mass transportation buses(molues) contribute to the society. I spent a3 weks in Nigeria and I couldn´t see a single decent TAXI. They are all old and dirty. Our Nigerian heroes(workers) need a decent means of trasportation.
Culture / Re: Inter-tribal Relationships by SEGUN2003(m): 2:53pm On Oct 08, 2006
Although I don't like writing or talking much, I feel it is my obligation as a human being to participate in this forum. I am a Nigerian living in Brazil fo a long time and whenever i go back home i can't help my thouhts as to the reasons why Nigeria has got so many serious problems. And I always come up with the same answer all the time, THE PROBLEM OF NIGERIA, ARE THE NIGERIANS, and this will continue to be for along time. The Yorubas don't believe in the Hausas and are very wary of the Ibos, The Ibos think that only their people have suffered and the Hausas are alone in their own world, Ibibios annd Yorubas are not to be trusted. For God's sake, forget all these things and let us try promoting the union of our beloved  through inter-tribal marriage. It does not matter where he/she is from, if you like him/her, GO GET HER/HIM. The most marvellous thing in this world is for you to be happy, if he or she can give you this sole feeling, what are you waiting for then? Let us stop all these talks about Ibos/Hausas/Yorubas and build a ONE SOLID NIGERIA. Brazil the country where I am at the moment is about 10 times bigger than Nigeria, and they do not go about choosing who is who. If he/she is white/black or yellow, but is your other half , MARRY HIM, or do you want to tell me that marrying someone of your race/colour/people means the marriage will be trouble free? Come on!!! BE HAPPY!!!!!!

Bisanke, all what you´ve heard about Brazil should be true. Brazil is a fantastic place to live in, that is why I did not live here when I had the oopportunityI live here on the Northeastern coast of Brazil. My town has only got about 800,000 people, a paradise of a city, small, cosy, friendly people and the best of all by the beach. I am a Yoruba too, but shamefully I can´t speak yoruba at the moment ´cause I haven´t spoken it for a long time. why not talk a bit about yourself/Atlanta/school or Job, etc.

I guess I must confess that when I went to Nigeria this last December I was very shocked with all the mess I saw there, I was ashamed of the dirtiness, our airport, the corruption, NEPA, the hold-ups and so on, had it not been for my sister/family, I would have taken the next avalaible plane back.

I am currently experimenting the same dilema you are having. I live here in the southeast of Brazil, a marvellous place, but with only one problem, there is no Nigerian girl here at all and I want to get married to Nigerian , so what one do? I can only advise you to stick to your current boyfriend and if he gives you enough evidence of liking you a lot, get along with him, why not?
Food / Re: Bukateria ("Buka") Food! by SEGUN2003(m): 12:43pm On Feb 05, 2006
After about 6 years of absence from Nigeria, I went home this december. I was very dissapointed with lots of things but going to a BUKA was one of the best things on this journey. I went to Lagos Island to visit a friend, I asked him to take me to a place with real Nigerian food, he took me to those Bukas near the central bank. On getting there I thought the environment was a bit doubtful but after the first handful of fufu with some breathtaking ogufes, I had to confess, BUKA is one of the 10 wonders of life. It is a pity that the Catfish can be so expensive therefore affordable for so few though.

I refused to believe that any normal human being today will still be in favor of female mutilation. This is very a disguiting and sick idea. i believe that bone of the main reason for having sex is the pleasure we derive from it, so could anyone explain to me if a male counterpart could experience pleasure why should the female counterpart partner involved, who really want to give pleasure to the guy she likes/loves be derived of this same pleasure that proportioned to him. Please could anyone explain this to me?

My dear "Oloyefala", there is no lamentation or whatsoever and you needn't be so offensive or aggresive. I thought over here everyone could make complaints or commentaries without being censored, we are only complaining about facts relating to the state of the majority of Nigerian Taxis since the last time I was in Nigeria, that is all. I needed to know something as I haven't been to Nigeria for while and the people who knew the reality fed me the information. Don't be so touch, none of us are taxi drivers and we meant no offence to any taxidriver, so take it easy!!!!!!!!!!

I have lived in the U.S.A where I worked for more than 5 years earning a graduate salary, so I can tell you it is extremelyb difficult for one to earn $15.ooo,oo there. How much is $500,00 ijn Naira. Would this amount be a good salary in Nigeria. Does an average Nigerian graduated worker earn this or it's a small amount?

I don't understand why our people can be so stupid. It's fighting and fighting all the time. Here in Brazil the land of carnaval, Carnaval is the synonym of happiness, dancing, drinking, lots and lots of beautiful girls, so why this violence for God's sake?
Politics / Re: 'Gas Flaring Is Illegal', Says Benin City High Court by SEGUN2003(m): 11:28pm On Nov 16, 2005
Hello, I can't believe that we have still got all this gas flaring in Nigeria. Why can't all this gas companies use this gas commercially. I live here in Brazil which is an underdeveloped country too, therefore equal to Nigeria, but has got the technology of the first world in this area. My car here, use GAS (GNV) Vehicle Natural Gas. Million of cars use Gas here in Brazil (especially the TAXIS) because they are 70% less than gasoline/petrol. Most of the companies here use GAS to run thier plants. A lot of houses use piped Gas. So it's time our government start creating jobs for our people by implementing these type of job creating projects rather than plan only how to steal our money.
