PoliticsRe: Boko-Haram: Christian Youths Opposes Amnesty by segunobe(m): 11:14am On Apr 11, 2013
mekaboy: Yes we have forgiven them, but they have to face the law. If an armed robber is caught and asks GOD for forgiveness, God forgives him but he will still be sent to prison. Even in the prison GOD has forgiven him, if he dies in prison GOD will welcome him in paradise.

If that is the case all rapists, kidnappers and armed robbers should be forgiven and allowed to go about freely.
What price would be too much to pay for peace to reign? Bro,our weapons are not canal.
PoliticsRe: Boko-Haram: Christian Youths Opposes Amnesty by segunobe(m): 10:08am On Apr 11, 2013
One of the major tenets of christianity is forgiveness so I see no reason why we as christians should not be willing to forgive.
Should we sacrifice peace and transquility on the alter of vandetta? Remember there still so many churches, christians and southerners in the core north.

Hmmm...food for thought.

Ask him who he voted for in the last election and who he intends to vote for in 2015 and you will hear "fresh air" and the reason will be because of religion, hatred for a section of the country and "na my brother"!

Hunger will cure most of you eventually!
Don't be judgemental of what you have no idea about. It brings your stupidity to fore.

I'm not a fan of Lai Mohammed or Reuben Abati but somethings don't just add up about this whole SA on media thing.
Abati was a well known and respected activist who used his platform as editor of Guardian newspaper to speak against the so many ills of the Nigerian political system. He was a fiery writer who spoke the truth without caring whose horse is gored. That was why so many people hailed his selection as the moderator of the last presidential debate. Now he's the mouthpiece of the same people who makes the life of Nigerians more difficult.
I never imagined the Reuben Abati I knew to defend sensitive issues like the appointment of patience as a perm sec,the state pardon granted Alams,or even the subsidy removal when the issue of corruption which got us in the mess in the first place had not been tackled to mention a few.
Reuben is either a turncoat,or confused or he's just goin through mid-life crisis. Whatever the case just know that the worst kind of people on earth are the people who speak from both sides of the mouth. Cos their opinion is dictated by their tommy. Reuben,Reuben,Reuben, how many times did I call you? Pls retrace your steps before its too late. You're letting so many people who looked up to you down. Only God knows the kind of tea you were fed in Aso rock to make you become such a turncoat!
As for GEJ,4yrs(2009-2013) is enough to have at least one tangible achievement that has improved the lives of Nigerians. Just One achievement which every Nigerian can see and feel. You forget that your government is not "for the elite and by the elite" alone.
I rest my case.

This is a wake up call to all Nigerian youths, irrespective of tribe, race or religion.Nigerian Youths wake up, We have no other country except Nigeria, We have been suffering in silence while our Leaders put our future in their bank accounts. How can we remain like this? How can a youth go to school and suffered to graduate at the end no job. You are almost 40 and still your future is as bleak as a dark room. Did your parents send you to school to sit at home because our Government have failed us. Let us come out one day and say No. We must not remain like this, we cannot all travel abroad to find a better life, our better life is here in our country. We have the money, oil and resources but only a selected few have continue to suck it dry why we keep believing God for a change, wake up now I challenge you. We need 500,000 youths in each of the 36states to challenge the Government. We say NO, we will destroy this country and rebuild it afresh, we will Kill those who stand on our way as they are considered the enemy. A man cannot have billions of naira while millions of youths roam the streets every day looking for daily bread. Our young men must not all be kidnappers, our young girls must not all be prostitutes. Get Ready I tell you. The time has come for us to react, the only way our Government listens is violence, they have shown it to the Niger delta militants and now they are planning to show it to the boko haram..whereas a simple gesture of N20,000 per month to the unemployed is rejected and you pay militants N75,000 per month. How much do they pay as minimum wage? How much do they pay to elected officers, we are going to revolt. Nigeria will burn to be rebuilt again like Libya, Iraqan Egypt and Turnisia...please spread this message unless you want to die in poverty in a country where God has destined all of us to be happy and prosperous...!!!

BusinessRe: First Bank 'First Monie' Mobile Money by segunobe(m): 1:56am On Feb 26, 2013
Firstmonie (pronounced in pidgin) is a mobile banking service that allows phone users to send money, receive money, and pay bills from their phone, and its powered by firstbank. Its easy, safe and convenient.
There 3 tiers of account:
1-classic
2-Gold
3-Platinum.
The classic has a minimum transfer limit of 3k,and a maximum limit of 30k daily in ten transactions.
Gold has a minimum limit of 10k and a maximum limit of 100k daily in ten transactions.
While platinum has a minimum limit of 100k and a maximum transfer limit of 1million daily in ten transactins. Its very easy to register, just dial *894# and respond CORRECTLY to the questions that will be sent to you and you're good.
After registration you're on classic by default but if you want to upgrade, you go to the firstmonie agent to upgrade your wallet (that's the terminology and not account). The agents are all around you but the surest place to find them is in any firstbank branch. You don't need a firstbank account to have a firstmonie wallet. For those that have a firstbank account, you can synchrinise your firstbank account and your firstmonie wallet to transfer from your account to your wallet and vice versa. We also have designated ATM machines to fund the wallet and they'll be operational before the year runs out hopefully. To fund your wallet, you go to the firstmonie agents, give them cash and they'll convert the cash to e-value and fund your wallet in correlation with your cash. You can also send money to someone who doesn't have a firstmonie account. All you need is the recipent phone number. The person get a coded message which he takes to the agent, the agents decode the message from their server and gives the phone user the cash after presentation of identification. Its safe, cos you don't have to carry cash all around, its convenient cos its funds at your fingertips anytime, anyday, anywhere, even ATM no go pay you 1m in one day. I'm still very much around to respond any other enquiries.

this is an issue i think should be addressed cos so many people have found themselves in an unpleasant or embarrassing situation over little things. i believe this will help some people know how to maneuver their way around lagos easily..
*try as much as possible not to wear too bright clothes, cos most of the buses are always too greasy. you wouldnt want to arrive at your destination feeling big in your starched ankara, oblivious of the patch of grease on your forearm.
*try as much as possible not to get in a shouting match with the conductor. you can never outshout him.you will only end up making a fool of yourself in the bus.especially the ladies.
*take extra care to much sure theres no loose metal anywhere that could get your clothes torn.so many times people have fallen victim to these menace.the worst of it all is that theres no one to complain to.
*if you are not good with breeze hitting your face, then dont sit at the window. it will be very improper of you,to sit at the window and then shut it when the bus is on motion, like most people do.its meant to ventilate the bus, and not to give you breeze when you feel like it.
*for those commuting between cms and iyana-iba, try to take a bus that is being driven by an awoa so you can take one way from volks when returning in the evening to beat the volks traffic.

the thread is open for more suggestions.

Dear Englishman,
I have haboured this grudge against you for as long as ‘ever’ but I guess this is just the time when I get the right amount of energy to put pen to paper to communicate my feelings of hatred for you to you.
You deprive me of the joy and freedom I get from expressing myself in Pidgin English by insisting I speak your language. And you even force my own people - oblivious of the deficiencies of your language – to reject me or refer to me as illiterate until I can speak your obviously incongruous language.
Otherwise, how do you explain this situation where these pairs of seemingly opposite words mean the same thing? 'flammable’ and ‘INflammable’
‘valuable’ and ‘INvaluable’
And then you go on to tell me the opposite of
consistent is INconsistent, complete is INcomplete, elastic is INelastic, edible is INedible.
You go on to further confuse yourself (& me) by saying the opposite of …..
normal is ABnormal,
possible is IMpossible,
intentional is UNintentional
social is ANTIsocial,
appear is DISappear
value is DEvalue
curriculum is EXTRAcurricular
responsible is IRresponsible
Achieve is UNDERachieve
camp is DEcamp.
And for words like this, for reasons best known to you, you felt giving them one opposite would just be insufficient and decided to give them two instead.… the opposite of . . .
edited is unedited and inedited
moral is immoral and amoral.
How much easier would it have been, had you chosen one (JUST ONE) prefix to mean the opposite of words? Take for instance, “in"
then …
normal would have been INnormal
possible – INpossible
intentional – INintentional
social – INsocial
appear – INappear
value – INvalue
responsible – INresponsible
legal – INlegal
e.t.c…
The worst part is, up till now, I realize I have ‘hated’ you since I was a kid ’cos you consistently made my parents think I was q dullard all becos of your deficiencies {N.B: I always failed dictation and spellings becos of you}
Why put the ‘p’ in Psychology when you know perfectly that you don’t need it?
When there’s a letter ‘f’, why spell phone with a ‘PH’ and then call if Fone?
PHysics – fisix
PHilosoPHy - filosofi
When there’s ‘k’, why spell school with ‘CH’ and call it sKool – the worst part, you later tell me to pronounce CH in a different way when I use it in the word, CHurCH? You are such a jerk!
aving shown you a very little fraction of the inconsistencies of your language, I guess I’d have to stop here for now because I detest you so much and don’t think you even deserve this much of my time.
But then, had you invented your language with a few of my suggestions, maybe, JUST MAYBE, my parents would have realized very early how much of a genius they have for a son. . . . At least, I would never have failed English Language!
And so, my final words to you – I HATE YOUR LANGUAGE.
