A recent foreign newsprint publication revealed that white pupils residents in the country did not perform as well as Chinese and Nigerian colleagues. The report stated that white pupils were outclassed by Chinese, Sri Lankan and Nigerian youngsters.

The report went on to state that the percentage of “white British or English” who get five A to C passes at GCSA is below the national average. While some minority groups are above it. However, Portuguese, Congolese and Yemeni pupils do not fare as well.

It continues by stating that ‘many children of migrants perform very well in school’ according to the Institute of Public Policy Research. which obtained the figures under the freedom of information act.

With over 1 million registered users and over 1 million posts made, the site continues to define the trend of articles, news, information with a front page that determines how viral it gets. Owned by Nigeria’s Seun Osewa, Nairaland’s articles and posts are seen globally including Ghana, Uganda, Kenya and Sweden where the site remains one of the most visited.

The Micro-blogging platform Twitter is widely embraced by Nigerians, who keep in tab with the latest news on the microblog. The number of Twitter users in Nigeria are a little less than the numbers of registered users on Nairaland. Facebook remains the most visited website in Nigeria, leading the likes of Google, Yahoo and Youtube.

The screenshot shows that Nigerians or people resident in Nigeria have recently visited Nairaland more than they visit Twitter.

Being the most popular Nigerian site and having more influence than Wikipedia in Nigeria, one cannot but keep crossed fingers and wait to see what innovative ideas and unique features that Nairaland would add to its ever-growing site to help it solidify its position as Africa’s first.

Yemi Osunkoya was said to have made a 7000 British Pounds wedding gown for Annie Macaulay

There was a bit of confusion in the Twitterverse after Yemi Osunkoya denied having made Annie Macaulay’s wedding outfit said to be worth 7000 Pounds as reported by Blogger Linda Ikeji. Linda’s report was copy-pasted across all blogs earlier in the day and it even went on Nairaland. Reactions to the news were mostly negative as people saw the move as very extravagant. Yemi Osunkoya, the man behind Kosibah however moved swiftly on Twitter to control the damage. He stated that he didn’t do the wedding gown and the information was false. The blogger meant no harm and might have been misinformed. She has since taken the post down after being contacted by the designer.

The wedding was set to take place at London’s posh Grosvenor House Hotel, and while fruit juice tycoon Vivian Imerman and his family are worth £400 million (about $600M USD), they were shocked to learn that Adele would charge them at least $4 million for a nearly half-hour set.

“Vivian is planning a lavish wedding,” a source told the UK’s Daily Star. “He paid Amy Winehouse thousands to perform at his eldest daughter Bianca’s wedding three years ago. He hoped to do the same again with Adele. But he was surprised when he was told she’d cost £2.5m [$4m USD]. Despite his bulging bank balance even he thought it was too expensive and is looking at other artists.”

Why isn't there a dislike button? Did any part of her article mention that she wasn't a christian or less spiritual? Did Christianity promise you mental stability? Was it not mental remedy that of "be transformed by the renewal of your mind".

She lives her life and stays sane by renewing her mind and re-assuring herself everyday. She said it was beyond drugs. It has to be a positive lifestyle with the right support systems.
