abbakacici: The problem is that even if you manage to find a job, the wages are very low as compare to their cost of living, if you study in Russell group university your wage after graduation will be like 24k, but it look like you are going to a ok school, so wages will be like 18k, I have friend that was lucky to find a job last year, after finishing msc financial management his wages was like 18800 per year, his paid like 6000 accommodation bills included for a room in a house with four other guys he spend like 4000 on food paid tax like 2000 he own a car his spend like 2500 on fueling insurance and taxes , other stuff like teeth peste, body spray, soap, laundry etc he spend like 1000 and he go back to naija for his annual leave where he spend like 1000 on ticket and few toys he bought his nice and nephew so when he want back to uk after his annual leave he check that he has only 400 pounds in his name, so he resign and went back to naijaHis salary will depend on the what sector or type of career he is into i.e. some sector are more lucrative. Yes it could be rough in the first 6 months and without a job or a proper job, but the first Job is always a stepping stone. You shouldn't make it your comfort zone. It also depends on who you stay with, like someone said, if you stay with those who do not have high ambitions, you are more likely to be like that, but if you meet up with those who are ambitious and hard working, you will make it. Just because it doesn't work for A does not mean it will not work for B. No doubt, it is harder these days, but people are still finding a way (legit way). If you are just starting, there is no near to be spending a fortune on luxury and non-essential things, you need to be comfortable first before splashing out on luxury items. A car may be a luxury item for someone who has just started working and does not earn enough to comfortably afford the expenses associated with owning a car. On the other hand, if he requires a car to get a job, he can still buy something nice which is affordable and won't be a drain on his finances |
nina myers: it's not any toy, it really is a real drone. There are different types of drones, this happens to be one. Goggle drone images and you will see it's almost like this Ibadan discovery. The police are trying to cover up some thing. The camera must have fallen off somewhere. Posted some images i saw on goggle. Remember goggle is your friend. The pics posted, the last image fell from the sky in Manhattan, the third image is the one in Ibadan. There are other stories like that are online. I hate it when they think we are ignorant people.I will start believing you when learn how to spell google. You need to take the goggles off to see the real thing on google, with your goggles on, a toy will always look like the real thing |
Hello Eghosa, sorry but i don't want to appear skeptical, but I was looking for something to show that you actually built the buildings in the above pictures. As you know, with little or no effort, it is easy to get pictures. So I have some questions, what part of Nigeria have you carried out these projects? Do you have a company address or anything like a website where you have advertised what you do? Any references or recommendations? Finally, would you consider any area in Nigeria? Because you don't know where I have in mind before offering me your services. I admire your enthusiasm, but this is business, it has to be done in a business and professional way. Thanks |
eghosa johnny: Hello sir,I am a builder from naira land and would appreciate if you will give the chance to work for you as your builder.Let me see your work. I can't just take chances |
You have got mail, reply me |
how many plot(s) of land is required for 8 flats with just 1 en-suite bedroom, kitchen and lounge? What will be the estimated cost to build? |
What do you have in Tanke sir? |
To build self contained flats X 8, i.e for student accommodation, So I would like 8 students/professionals to be on the ground floor, and 8 on the first floor. What plot size would I need for this (i.e - the number of plots)? Each bedroom is En-suite, there is a lounge and Kitchen How much am looking at if I was just to go for the ground floor alone, i.e. no decking required, just make it like a massive bungalow with 8 rooms, 4 on either sides How much will the 16 rooms cost, i.e. the ground floor and first floor? |
erico2k2: Fa fa fa fowDude, it doesn't have to be different from your seat number because when the computer allocates the seat number, it puts that into consideration. If you were to check-in online, you wouldn't find all the block of seats available to choose from, some would be greyed out. And yes, I have traveled on BA, Virgin and Delta airlines where they have asked people to move to some seats which were not necessarily the seat initially allocated to them |
Clapping thing usually happens after a rough flight, people tend to clap when the plane touch down. I don't blame them. This happens virtually anywhere. One annoying thing that is mostly common with Nigerians though, is when the Pilot says we have 40 minutes to land and this is your opportunity to use the lavatories, even after they have put the seat belt sign on and it is like 15 mins to land, you will still see people stand and running to the lavatories. It is so annoying, control your bladders. @Akinalabi wrote 1. Nothing wrong with that as long as those other seats are truly empty. It's empty for fks sake. I am afraid there is something wrong with it, usually, if the plane is half empty, they arrange passengers in such a way to balance the plane for take-off. After takeoff, when seat-belt sign is off, then you can move to the empty seats |
king1_00: Why strive to buy a 2013 car when a 1995 car works perfectly. Wake up to the reality dude. If an oppurtunity is given then it should be taken if the oppurtunity cost is lower. Why should you not strive to buy a 2013?? Abeg forget 1995 car mehn, if you aim high, you will get you there eventually. If you aim low, then that is what you get. That is why we never invent new things, because we are happy with what worked very well yesterday, not thinking about today, never mind tomorrow. |
Hello everyone, you never heard the full story. It is all based on assumptions. So it is difficult to really say selling the house was a mistake. 1, it depends where the house is located, if he has a house in VGC, maybe not the best to sell. On the other hand, if he has a house in Ogbomosho that is not worth a lot, why should he not sell it? 2, you guys don't know whether he has more than one house. So if he has 3, and he decided to sell one, and this chap heard him saying he sold his house, what is the problem with that? 3, do you know whether he has relatives abroad? he might not want to be a burden on them whilst staying with them, he needs something to cushion himself as he begins to find his way round. Lastly, do you know if he put the fund into his savings account in Nigeria? If you are leaving a place and do not hope to come back soon, it would make sense to sell and put that money somewhere than to have a house which you have no true control of whilst abroad. Until you hear from the horse's mouth, you can only make assumptions - which could be right or wrong Peace!!! |
I have pounds to sell. Please what is the current rate? I sent you a mail, you didn't reply me. |
Sent you an email on 26/04/13, but you didn't reply Do you have plot(s) around MFM, if yes, how much is the land per plot. And how close is it to the main University road? |
Gamblin Queen :Now I see what you mean, the phones had the feature but the mobile vendors locked it. I use a Google Nexus 2, and I was able use my phone as a wireless modem with MTN sim back in 2011. It wasn't blocked, I didn't try it on glo or other networks, but anyone with HTC wildfire or Samsung galaxy II could have done it a that time. Good luck with the 1 terabyte phone, lets hope it is available for sale by 2017 . |
Gamblin Queen :I beg to differ, It is not only a selected few, most of them have it. For your phone not to have it, it must either be a very cheap Android phone (not with many smartphone features) or it is running on the old Android os . ie something before Froyo. I have been using this feature since late 2010, and even back then, most of the HTC and Samsung phones I came across had it. Yes most of them might not have 4g, but they have 3g and can be used as wireless hotspot. |
Gamblin Queen :I am afraid you gonna have to wait a long time, you talk about terabyte hard drive on market, how long did it take to get this? Also, if you get anything with terabyte in the near future, it will come at a premium price. You just have to look at the price difference between devices with 16gb, 32gb and 64gb. I suspect they would not make the huge leap from 64gb to 1 TByte, rather they will go to 128gb, 256gb and 512gb first before going to 1TB. Same thing applies to processors, we got a single core processor first, then duo core, quad core and now octo core. So dear, you gonna be waiting for a long time. Plus my phone allows me to use it as a 4g hotspot. So i can use my tablet or netbook on the road. This is called Tethering, it has been around for a while back. It is available on any Android device and comes as part of the Android platform. So the answer is Yes |
Mobinga: Sammy going the Apple route I see.The phone may look like the S3, but there are lots of New features in it. So that is why they called it S4. You need to go on you tube and watch some hands on review on it. You can't make a strategic decision for them, you're just a consumer |
jedisco: A nice phone I must say, just as expected. They could have put 3100mAh battery in it to give it more battery life, but they didn't want to compromise on the size and weight as you mentioned. Rather they gave people the choice, if you want something bigger with more battery life, then go for the Samsung galaxy note |
lacasa: so We still have nigerians hooked on mobile phonesYou need to speak for yourself. If you can afford it, why not? Am sure as you know, this smart phone is more than a phone. it is a multi-purpose( All in one) mini-super computer in your pocket and also a business device. My guy, if your business is prospering, you will see the need for sure a device. If you don't need it, fine, but do not speak for everybody. Yes, this has absolutely nothing to do with building a house |
Do you still 20 hectares available? Has anyone here on Nairaland bought a land from you? Is the land located in a place which is outside of the Master Plan? Are they leasehold or freehold? What is the possibility of Government Acquisition? I know that i've asked a lot of questions, but if one is paying any money over 500K, these questions need to be asked |
In fact, this is what I have been calling for. We cannot do it all in one day, but have to start from somewhere. Imagine driving a truck that could easily kill all the occupants of a mini Bus, car or even a big bus against traffic on the third mainland bridge. It is right they punish such actions with severe penalties. Imagine travelling from Ilorin to Lagos on the new Express that was recently completed between Ilorin to Ogbomosho, you're travelling at 120 - 140 KPH and you're going up hill, suddenly you find some of these crazy drivers, driving big trucks against traffic, they should be apprehended and banned. We cannot allow such to continue with the high number of auto accidents in the country. It is time drivers took responsibilities for their driving. They don't have to be in an accident before they are punished for dangerous driving. If you drive a truck or even a car against traffic on the highway/motorway in any advance country, you would be taken to court and be prosecuted. You would inevitably be banned for sometime because it is a major offence. I hope this serves as a deterrent to anyone wishing to wilfully disobey traffic rules |
Give an accurate description of what you do have at the moment. You need to be very clear about it if you are really serious about selling |

I was actually in New Jersey, USA. I went to Hoboken which was very close to New York on the night before the attacks. I remember asking my Cousin who lives in the US why one of the Towers had something like a Mast on it and the other didn't have it. Also I made comments on the number of planes flying into Newark International Airport and on how they were approached the airport from the same direction in what seemed like a queuing system in the air. Little did I know something bad was gonna happen on the following day and the towers would be no more. Needless to say, I wasn't looking forward to my inbound journey back home which was a week after the incidents. Although they did say if people were scared and do not wish to fly, they could wait for up to 6 months or so before flying back. |
Do you still have more, what is your last price please? |
