Zabiboy:Lol, I have nothing to say to you, only that my point was obviously directed to freelance developers. And you went ahead to start listing big companies that work with corporate IT organizations. That been said, in Nigeria where the technology market is not upright, the average business owner would surely go for cheaper and less quality. Spend a moment of your time to go through the websites of the average Nigerian business owner and you'll understand what I'm saying. More than 90% of the federal government websites is nothing to write home about, so do you think they really care about quality?... Even private establishments, there are numerous so-called big companies with quack websites. They obviously picked a cheaper alternative, hence, the point I raised earlier. |
Semtu:Hey guys, I passed my IELTS with an overall band score of 8.0 (L-8.5, R-8.5, W-7.0, S-7.0).. Thank you all so much, I went through various advices on this thread and it really helped me. I prepared only with 'IELTSLiz' and took practice questions from 'Ieltsonline'. I was actually expecting a higher band score than this but I still thank God all the same ![]() |
angellist:I beg to differ, web development is now so common. Nowadays, anyone can easily design a standard website with little or no programming knowledge. The cost of designing a website has dropped significantly over the years. You see many developers advertising 15k websites, 20k websites, it's now so common. So I don't really see any reason to revisit web development. |
Thank you OP for sharing your journey with us, I was really invested when reading through. Well, I'm not a data scientist, I'm a Robotics Engineer but it seems our fields are very much intertwined. Robotics is no longer about 0 and 1's, it's now about Artificial Intelligence. My journey is also full of ups and downs which I'll quickly talk about. My programming journey only began during the university. Before then, I didnt even know what programming was. Though, I've always had this thing for computers and electronics, building simple electronics projects while I was in sec school. Well, when I finally gained admission into the university in the field of Mechatronics Engineering, I began to understand what Mechatronics is all about and the importance of programming in my field. The very first programming I learnt was CNC mathematical programming , where I was using G-codes to program CNC machines and 3D printers. At this point, I started feeling myself but still i wasn't satisfied. I wanted to learn more about programming, then I discovered Java because I had a friend then who was very good in Java. But after a month or so, I felt Java was too difficult and I wasn't improving then i lost interest. In my fourth year in the university, we started working with embedded systems and automation. C/C++ programming was key in this area, so I learnt C++ and how to apply it to embedded systems. I worked on several embedded systems project and I was happy with myself but I still felt like I could do more. Data Science Nigeria (DSN) visited my campus then and organized a training for Python, Machine Learning and Data Science. I took part in the training in the training where we began from the scratch in Python. Python was so easy and came naturally to me since I have theoretical knowledge of loops, lists, functions and others which we were taught as a course in Engineering during my 2nd year. Back to the training, I was very frequent for about a month, never missing a day and completing al exercises given. Then School exams began and I couldn't continue with the training because I had to prepare for examination.Months later, I've forgotten most of what I learn in python because of lack of practice but I still had knowledge of C++ because I kept working on various embedded systems project. Once I was done with school, I felt like I needed some source of income. At first, i learnt Graphics design with (photoshop, illustrator, experience design, corel draw). Mind you, I had knowledge of CAD softwares like Pro Engineering and CATIA because of my background in Engineer. But graphics design wasn't paying well enough. Then I decided to go into Web development, I started by learning visual web development with the use of Wordpress and Blogger. But I wanted to dive deeper. I wanted to learn how to develop websites from the scratch, so I learn HTML, CSS and the Bootstrap framework. As a frontend developer, I felt proud in myself. Then I moved into backend, learning PhP and MySQL. Then I became a competent web developer. I still wanted to learn more, then I remembered I already had knowledge of python. I knew that python was the language of AI which was related to my field Mechatronics Engineering. So I quickly revised Pyrhon and everything I learnt came back to me. Once I became once again confident with python, I went into image processing using OpenCV. While learning this I learnt some core libraries which are numpy, pandas and matplotlib and their application in image processing. Now I'm currently learning the application of these libraries in data generation. Once I'm done, I'll be learning data visualization and analysis before finally going into AI where I'll also be learning Tensorflow. (Sorry that it's a long read) |
Spartancosta:All the information is need is already at your fingertips. You can sign up for a free python developer course on Udemy. Once you've completed it, you'll be surprised at how much you've learnt from it. |
Bloggingscope:With all these requirements, hope the pay is not less than 300k |
FManager:If anyone is willing to invest in this project, I can help with the backend |
Spartancosta:Just search python ide on play store, you should see some options. But dont be discouraged if you dont have a pc, I started learning programming with a book and pen. I wrote my codes on paper then borrowed laptops to run and debug. Just use whatever you have at your disposal. |
jidejado:You are making your codes ambiguous and not printing properly. You can do it like this dfme = pd.dataframe(d).mean() Then print (dfme) dfmed= pdf.dataframe(d).median() Print(dfmed) Whatever it is you want to print should be in a parenthesis unlike the return function |
Hey guys, my L-R-W exam is on Saturday at one Beij hotel, emmanuel street, ogudu and it's very early in the morning. Can anyone please give me an exact direction to the venue from ojota. |
Good afternoon guys, my exam by IELTS MOD is slated for 7:30am. Please is it possible to change it to afternoon as my home is very far from the exam centre. |
MissMa01:Good morning, it has not been confirmed still and my booking has been cancelled |
Good morning, please I made payment two days ago which has not been confirmed still. I logged on to the site, only to find that my booking has been cancelled. Someone should help me please |
Hello guys. It's been almost 24hrs since I made payment to IELTS MOD but I'm still yet to hear from them. I've forwarded payment evidence and passport to their emails and I've filled the payment verification form. Please what do I do? |
Mod should take this thread down. This is an obvious scam and no one should fall for this in 2020. |

DlawTECHY:Next time, you won't buy Trashnix. |
DlawTECHY:Lol, the panel is dead most likely. How long have you been using it? |
wahza:Actually, not everyone is reimbursed with the transport fare. They consider the distance from your school to the exam centre. For example, those that school at Lagos and wrote their exam at Lagos were not reimbursed. |
ProfChris10:Stop spreading lies abeg... Everyone that writes the exam whether you are successful or not gets reimbursed for the transport fares. Succesful candidates will further receive a congratulatory mail, followed by the due award money. |
