Foreign Affairs / Re: Niger: ECOWAS Military Chiefs To Meet On Saturday by SenatePresdo(m): 5:18pm On Aug 11, 2023
Henryjr:
Nigerians should note that the position to deploy the military is not Tinubu's position, but ECOWAS position, which a representative of Niger was present in the meeting yesterday.

Again, the regional bloc has explored a lot of peaceful and political means to contain the situation in Niger, but the coupist has shown no sign of readiness to any form of mediation, and that is a disrespect to the head of states of the various countries, who are genuinely concerned about orderliness in Niger.

If the cost of peace is war, then it is a necessary evil that must take place.

Which Peace are we looking for again? Are Nigerians and other ECOWAS member States not at peace?

So innocent Nigerian soldiers should go and die over what doesn't concern them?

How about invading Burkina Faso too since there was a military coup there?

there's no beating about the bush, and as an adult you know there's no exact timeline to these type of things as there are too many variables involved with some major ones out of our country's control.....but the government is doing their best to resolve the matter.....so you either wait and have faith or whine and leave.......like I said you got options explore them.

You are saying another thing, I'm not saying the Government won't bounce back.

The premises of my question is; what are we to expect exactly?

TheBillyonaire:
Such a shame if our politicians do not understand what this war is about. Our gas pipeline through Niger and Algeria to Europe is the reason for this coup and the pending war, so it is important that we focus on our interests and work with any alliances that guarantees our vested interest only.

If peace will guarantee our success, then we must pursue, but if war is the only option, so be it.

And who said the coup plotters would stop us from building the pipeline?

We can still maintain relationship with them like we have always done.

The coup plotters are Hausas after all.

Exactly!

Once those guys support anything, that thing is doomed!

Trump was said he regretted that he got support from South-East Nigeria. Even GEJ made mention of it after election defeat.

Atiku wrote in his biography that, the root cause of his political woes was getting support from the South-East.

And the Economic and hardship woes of Nigeria is that they get support from SW.

Tinubu has finally declared war on Hausas, having heard that Hausas makes up about 50% of Niger population.

Northerners should ask themselves this question; If Niger shares common Boundary with Ogun, Osun, Oyo and Ondo would Tinubu still talk about invading Niger?

Anyway, this War will favour me and my family grin
