1 Peter 4:17 IS speaking of Judgement of G-'d ( a "krima" -decision from G-d) passed down to believers for violating HIS statues and commandemnts. This passage continues to say that IF this judgement of G-d comes to those who believe, how much so will it be for those who do not believe and are disobedient.

I happen to have Strong's concordance sitting at my desk, so let's dissect the greek word for Judgement used here: Krima.

Krima (G2919) is a decision, sentence, a verdict of condemnation (or Judgement) from God to man. It can also be from man to another man.

The Hebrew transliteration of Krima is Mishpat; meaning Judgement from G-d.

The greek word for persecution is "Diogmos". If Apostle Paul intended to say persecution in 1 pet 4:17, the word is Digomos of church NOT Krima.

Apostle Paul in 1 Peter 4:17 referenced back to the Tanakh and how G-d dealt with the Israelites. Please read Ezekiel 9 and see how G-d instructed the angel of death to go to HIS house/sanctuary/temple and KILL the priests, leaders first. THEN the rest of Jews.
