Hey my guy, this life can be so uncertain. It might not be your fault that things turned out this way. Just try to cheer up and move on.
If I were you I would not sit back to wait for JAMB next year because you have no guarantee of scoring very high next year. I have seen intelligent students that had their results withheld, seived, cancelled etc (i mean those that didn't participate in any form of malpractice).
So, why don't you try a polythecnic, maybe next year you can still sit for the JAMB with better chances or probably get your OND and go via direct entry.
Whichever way be decisive because there is no time.  I don't see the chances of a varsity taking anything below 200.
May the LORD be with you as you try to conquer the unseen tomorrow. Goodluck.

baronsky:
268 in Medicine UNN? Is possible, the possible average cut-off for medicine is about 280(postutme + JAMButme/ 2). Now this dude has a chance because is not just to get 300 in JAMB but to show up the same performance in the post UTME. Bro u have a chance(269), but you need to read hard and know what you are doing because UNN post UTME is very strict, secondly you have close to 7,000 candidates seeking admission in medicine yearly. Now see the way, They Post Utme is made up of 60(sixty) questions drawn from the Four subjects(ENG, and three others of your choice), each question carries a mark of 6.66marks. Out of the 60 questions, if you can answer 45 questions(though not easy) you will have 300 in the Post UTME exams. Which means(reference to my formular above) that you have 300+268 = 284. This takes you in Medicine in UNN on merit grounds, also if you are from the states that has UNN as their localilty(Imo, Ebonyi, Anambra, Enugu, Abia), the scores are reduced, and further reduced if you are from any of the Education Less Developed States(ELDS). I wish all of you well, this is the first test, the second test is the post utme, usually strict, please read hard, i was like you this time last year. God did it for me, who will also do it for, just one more hard work and reading and studying.
A very nice one. Please kindly send me your phone number through - 081 81696114. Thank you. Will be waiting,

That is too low.But didn't I hear UNN won't admit students for Medicine this year? Which site did she use? Nothing displays here.
It would be unreasonably boastful to say that 261 as score is low in any course whatsoever. Be it medicine, engr, law or what have you.
Mind you, whoever wrote JAMB 'by himself' and scores 240 and above can make it to the university (whatever course) through the POST UME, by the grace of GOD.
Cheers!
EducationRe: Jamb Releases 2011 Utme Results, Says 842,851 Candidates Score Below 200 Marks. by Serendipity: 9:46pm On Jun 24, 2011
Parastatals in this country are so full of themselves. JAMB has not released anything, yet they issued statement of release of result. Its simply because they want to brag about releasing the results just six days after the exams.
And from the statement, they are luxuriating in the 56% failure as recorded.
And I suspect that they deliberately marked people down because this year's JAMB exams seem to be the easiest in the last decade as can be attested to by the candidates. Also, worthy of note is that the answers to the question( I mean those that came from the right sources) were everywhere even days before the exams.
Maybe they want to attract governments attention unduly by deliberately using stringent marking measures in the relatively easy exams.
Just hope God help the students.
Cheers!
EducationRe: Jamb And Pume, Which One Is The Problem? by Serendipity: 6:00am On Jun 23, 2011
Darwine:
Right now many schools have made it clearly and obvious that for anybody to get admitted in their institutions solemnly depends on your performance on both jamb and pume. Most of them make use of the average of the two like UNN, some divide by pume by 8 and jamb by 4 and add like UNIZIK and so many other schools. In any ways, admissions in universities today depend solemnly on your performance on both. So the question is, to you, which one affects the admission more and why and how?
pls, verify, what u said about UNIZIK.

Educational ServicesRe: Jamb Centres That Will Be Seized. by Serendipity: 12:43pm On Jun 20, 2011
Darwine:
Over the years, jamb board has tried so many things to reduce the rate of examination malpractices but this year's attempts to do so,somehow might not go a long way in the reduction of that as expected. Apart from the introduction of the finger print syndrome to take care of impersonation and also the changing of the procedure of dispatch by giving the key to the bag that contains the papers to another person whom his or her centre will made known to him or her by 9:15am while another person carries the bag (2 different people that never met or seen each other before or know each other's location),3 armed security personels and 2 unidentified external jamb returning officers. All these are to reduce examination malpractices but despite all these, this year seems to be worse. Out of 2,823 centres nationwide,29% and still counting have been shortlisted to be seized though investigation is still going on. In other words, out of 1.9million candidates sat for the examination, over 500,000 are at the risk of not having results. From the reports submitted by returning agents,12% out of the 29% centres didnt carry out the thumb print accreditation, majority from the East and North,8% paid for freedom during the examinations, majority from the East and West,6% is due to inability to start the examinations on time thus, enhences circulation of the answers which includded the centre where i took part in the invigilation at Benin, the remaining 3% is due to reduction in the number of supposed security personels. Details and the names of the centres will available soon on the net.
This animal called Darwine again!

You think dat by scaring people with heavily unfounded claims, they will resort to calling to find solutns and you wil take advantag of dia ignorance and dupe them .

U foolishly said dat 1.9 milion took d exams whereas prof. Dibu ojerinde said it is 1.49 thus showin your ignorance.

U also aleged dat 500 thousand wil not have results which is a BLATANT LIE, because last year 1.3 milion took exams but it was only 82 thousand didnt have results.

STOP SCARING PEOPLE WITH STUPID CLAIMS
Pls NOTE dat jamb has not said any official tin abt d examinatn.
Nonsense!!!

EducationRe: Finally The JAMB Examination Is Over by Serendipity: 12:01am On Jun 19, 2011
Natasha,,:
Hmm the great relief I feel cannot be measured finally this exam is over and now I can rest a little cheesy Waking up this morning getting ready to go to my centre and still doing some last minute reading I was confident on what I would do, leaving the house and seeing everyone wishing me well and getting a hug from my mum and her saying everything is well, I knew everything was well indeed and my mind was at peace , on my way I still did ''last minute reading'' in the taxi.

finally I got to the centre and saw my good friend, after been screened we were asked to pay a thousand naira to get into the hall after protesting it was reduced to 500 box although my dad had given 3500 Naira because of all this their wahala I paid and went into the hall patiently waiting for the papers, suddenly all my confidence left me I was afraid of so many things tears started streaming down my eyes uncontrolably I was crying in my exam hall grin I couldn't contain all the fear so I walked to the invigilator and told him I was afraid he smiled and looked intensely in my eyes and gave me so much words of encouragement, I went back to sit and wiped my tears , I started getting my confidence back, I didn't even fell emabarrased as everyone was looking at me '' duh it wasn't my concern'' grin grin

We were then asked to pay 2000 for runs shocked and as usal they protested and the money was reduced to 1000 people hurridly paid and when it came to my turn I told the invigilator I don't have money to pay grin and so did my seat mate gosh she was the best sea mate ever kiss kiss The paers finally came and I started attempting them gosh I couldn't believe it I started up with CRS and it was extra simple it even became annoying but I was happy cheesy , the first invigilator who gave me words of encouragement came to my seat and was shocked that I had started shocked shocked shocked shocked ''why didn't you wait for me to call the answers?'' smiling at him I said '''don't worry sir I know what I'm doing'' he smiled back and was impressed greatly in all the exam was good and I am happy

what I find hard to believe is that at the end of the day no runs came grin grin grin chai you needed to see people who had done NOTHING out of the 300 questions shocked shocked shocked shocked shocked shocked and it was already 10 mins to submission and i was like ''jeez are you that dull'' in my mind wink at the end they asked for their money to be refunded which was impossible thought some people still got answers via cells. I was happy after the exam and even happier that my friend wrote well too I wasn't scared for her cos I knew she was also very intelligent. But many were sad cause they still had a lot of unanswered question cry cry

so how was yours? cheesy
@NATASHA, I don't completely believe you. How could you tell me

that you were asked to pay before entering hall. Which state is that?

that the invigilator inquired why you were writing when he had not started calling the answers. Atleast which of the paper type answers would he have called.
And even if he had called one, would you all in the hall/class have answered the same paper type though it seems practicable.

I actually got these test Dates from http://www.bymafit.com/toeflcentresinnigeria/ . To register, visit http://www.bymafit.com/toeflregistrationinnigeria/ . A friend of mine registered there, so at least I know they are clean. The good thing is they are the cheapest I have seen on the internet and despite that, they give you three free 2011 editions of TOEFL textbooks for free with every registration.

That's by the way. I will get the list of August Test dates soon. Also, Will do a little research of the best schools to apply to, the cheapest, the ones with easy I-20 etc. Will update on that shortly.
Ok am waiting. Nice. Please, dont forget to include d essence of the exam, benefits etc. Thank u
