So I was going through this thread.....I had to pause and think how we got to this

https://www.nairaland.com/7842411/yourbanization-way-forward-administration

Prior the 1966 coup, Eastern Nigeria and majorly igbos were castigated so much by other Nigerians that they are dominating in government office/posts (which was actually based on competence as at then because there's still fresh breaths of white men's orderliness).

The northern Nigeria were finding it hard to compete with the southern Nigeria because things were based on brains and competence.

This grew a strong hatred towards igbos which till today, it's still in the lips of many Nigerians that "igbos always dominate and are gready"
If you read or watched "half the yellow sun", you will understand how this event played. That during the pogrom..... speaking Igbo alone in government office as a worker warrants your death.

Now today.......a certain tribe is making a full domination unapologetically. Not even out of competence but under the shield that "I can only appoint someone I trust around my table"

And to all of us...... it's nothing bad after all. The funny thing is that some of the major monickers in politics section accusing igbos of domination over the years are the ones that defends this modern domination to the core.

Which way Naija??

Let it be known that Igbos likewise myself rendered a lone voice against Yoruba ethnic domination and lordship in Lagos.

Other well meaning and patriotic Nigerians must condemn it too.

Every part of Nigeria belongs to all Nigerians irrespective of creed, ethnicity and religious inclination.
Not needed now.

Let it not be that the everyday-igbos are against them.

Just pray that Hausa people should wake up too and make Hausa language compulsory in Abuja.

Unity my left nyash

Omoawoke2:
As for Yorubas, they have varieties upon varieties of dressing and some were borrowed and modified from west African brothers.

Yorubas made their own fabrics themselves as far back as 10000Bc

We have different clothing materials like aso oke, Adire and these are Yoruba names not borrowed names.

We also have different cap designs

That cap has been worn for centuries by the Yorubas prior to the British arriving West Africa.
You go explain tire.

The evidence is that it's a human-decoy cap by British farmers
PoliticsRe: Is This Red Cap Indigenous To Igbo Tradition? by Sergio101(m): 2:30pm On Sep 11, 2023
This cap is being worn to human-decoy (dressing that looks like human) in the farm to chase squirrel by the British.

How the hell is it a cultural attire to the Yorubas? sad

Foreign AffairsRe: Morocco: Massive Earthquake Damages Historical Buildings. 296 Dead, 153 Injured by Sergio101(m): 12:37pm On Sep 09, 2023
Discerner:
Not Even the East that you say is Post Cretaceous?

I believe Earth Quake will happen sooner or later in Nigeria, Nigeria just might not exist as we know it when it does.
My reply about Cretaceous is based on cause of Soil erosion in the South East/south South and not about earthquake.

Do research and come back to me....... south west and most northern Nigeria has basement complex rock of pre Cretaceous.

More reason they can be good location of minerals like bitumen,Gold and co but are not good hydrocarbon reservoir.

Eastern Nigeria is has post Cretaceous sand (i.e formed during Carboniferous era). So this type of soil can't withstand erosion factors

As for Nigeria and Earthquake........ it's scientifically impossible for at least next 100yrs

Foreign AffairsRe: Morocco: Massive Earthquake Damages Historical Buildings. 296 Dead, 153 Injured by Sergio101(m): 10:52am On Sep 09, 2023
Zooposki:
More like the removal of oil but I think that particular issue causes erosion and landslide when the earth tries to resettle. Maybe that’s why there is so much erosion in South South and South East.
The cause of soil erosion in SE/SS is because of the soil type they have.

South West and northern Nigeria soils were formed in pre Cretaceous stage.

But South East's soil were formed Post Cretaceous.

So the sandy-loamy-clay soil formations in it can easily be washed away.

Enugu State is little exception
Foreign AffairsRe: Morocco: Massive Earthquake Damages Historical Buildings. 296 Dead, 153 Injured by Sergio101(m):
ifytrik:
cry cry cry can someone tell me the comon causes of earthquakes
Earthquake is a violent tremors caused by ease of piled stress in the crust which sends shockwaves on different direction.

It's actually this shockwaves that causes destruction

Imagine a situation where two moulded blocked placed opposite each other are being pushed together towards each other but in opposite direction (i.e block A is moving East while block B is moving west but are in towards each other meaning that a central point of the whole force will be created), it will get to a point that this blocks will start fracturing and be breaking to pieces.

Reason is that Block A &B are minute when compared to With force being put

Now have a broader view of it......(which is the Earth's Continental block)

In this case.......the Continental block is a big mass of rock (lithosphere), therefore when there's convergence of two Continental blocks or plates, the stress/force at this point of contact can't cause the whole mass of Continental rock to break or fracture, Rather this stress can be heaved or eased or released in other forms...... Basically the SHOCKWAVES. So if there's slight movement of a plate boundary against another opposite plate boundary, the stress released is what causes this destructions and we say that earthquake has happened...

This waves can practically be visualized when you throw a stone to a still water. The wave created by the stone in the water will be very high and noticeable at near point it was thrown (where the stone made contact with the water) but slowly dies off as it progresses. This is same case with Earthquake's shockwaves. It causes more destruction at the epicenter (the point at ground surface directly above the Origin in the sub surface).

Now what is the Possible reason it happened Morocco??

I saw in first where someone Said Nigeria may be hit by earthquake maybe in 2040. Scientifically..... it's not possible. Nigeria is far from it. Nigeria is in a stable Continental plate (stable African plate which has contact far in Atlantic Ocean with South America plate).

So earthquake possibly happened in morrocco because......

Morocco is on convergent boundaries of African, Eurasian (and other plate I can't remember). Little wonder the famous Atlas chains of mountains was formed in it Just like Himalayas of Asia.
So morrocco is on unstable plate...... hence, it is possible for earthquake to occur there.

Another place of possibility is in East Africa (because of rift system).

I'd hope it's clearer to you.

Have a blessed day!!😊🥰🥰

The way you guys always try to make it look like Biafra of a thing is a devil still makes me wonder.

Yeah, some people believed that Biafra is the only option for them, where inclusive government will be best practice, where at least the president of thier nation can be able to speak thier language fluently at least in their lifetime (which is a very good thing)

They saw it in Obi also coupled with his competence and has to give him full support.

So any other bullshit you are scanning from it is your business!!

In terms of reach outside the African continent, no other African language beat the Yoruba in terms of notoriety.

What contribute majorly to that is that Afro beat and high number of Yoruba people in the West.

Yoruba is the trademark language of the whole African race.
Yoruba is widely exported to other continents through our arts: music and movies.

Take a look at Asake who sings in Yoruba.

Another massively trending movie titled “Jagun Jagun” is a testament to this.

Yoruba people brags a lot.

And will always be the first to say "Omaluabi doesn't show off".
