Appreciation should not become competition. Good healthcare depends on teamwork. Doctors diagnose and prescribe, pharmacists optimize and safeguard medication therapy, nurses monitor patients and administer care, laboratory scientists provide diagnostic information, and many others contribute. When any one of these groups is missing or ineffective, patient care suffers. All deserve good pay |

Entrepreneurship or Just Chin-Chin Training? Nigerian Varsities and Their Puff-Puff & Soap-Making Programs. Is Entrepreneurship all about baking cakes, making chin-chin, producing soap, and tying adire? Back in 2006, the National Universities Commission (NUC) made entrepreneurship studies compulsory in Nigerian universities. The goal was simple, reduce unemployment and make graduates self-reliant. But let’s be honest, are we really achieving this? Students spending years in school learning how to make chin-chin, cakes, soap, deodorants and adire… only to graduate and join the unemployment queue. Is that entrepreneurship or just busywork? The truth is, most of these programs are outdated, shallow, and disconnected from reality. Nobody takes them seriously. Just attend class, do small practical, pass, and move on. Meanwhile, real entrepreneurship has moved far beyond that. Entrepreneurship today includes: *Building tech startups *Creating scalable business systems *Industrial production and manufacturing *Modern agriculture with processing and packaging *Digital innovation and global services But instead of preparing students for these realities, our institutions are stuck teaching survival skills from 20 years ago. Let’s be honest, how many graduates are actually using what they learned from these entrepreneurship classes? Most students abandon everything immediately after leaving the practical centre. No continuity, no support, no funding, no mentorship. Just vibes and certificates. Compare this to countries like China, where industrial and production-driven entrepreneurship powers their economy. They focus on building industries, not just teaching students how to fry puff-puff. Why can’t we do the same? Why not allow Computer Science students build real apps and tech products?, Engineering and Science students develop solutions for agriculture and production?, Business students run actual ventures, not just write exams? Art-Creative students monetize their skills at scale?. Instead of forcing every student into the same outdated mold, why not align entrepreneurship with their field and the modern economy? Right now, the system is not producing entrepreneurs—it is producing frustrated graduates with certificates and no direction. If we are serious about fixing unemployment in Nigeria, then this so-called entrepreneurship program needs a complete overhaul—not cosmetic changes. Anything short of that is just deceiving students. Let’s talk—did your school’s entrepreneurship program actually help you in real life, or was it just another course to pass? Nothing is sweeter than Love where there is money ![]() |
Good recovery, but the real concern is ensuring these weapons don’t mysteriously return back into the wrong hands |
At a conference, a question sparked laughter: “Can a rich man allow his daughter marry a poor man?” The answer changed the meaning of wealth. Wealth is not money, it’s the ability to create it. A lottery winner with millions can still be poor if they lack the mindset to sustain it. Meanwhile, a determined learner with no money is already rich, because they are building skills, discipline, and vision. The real difference is mindset. One person keeps growing, learning, and creating opportunities. Another keeps blaming, complaining, and waiting to be helped. There’s a story of a security guard who returned a bag of money instead of stealing it. People called him foolish. Years later, he rose to manage a bank, earning far more than he could have taken in a moment. That’s real wealth, character, patience, and the ability to grow. So the question isn’t how much you have, but what you can build. Are you holding money, or building wealth? https://youreyesandearslive..com/2026/03/wealth-is-mindset-not-money-build-mind.html?m=1
