tallfish145: Take note that serving in fct connotes two things: either u av a good ppa that pays or u don't. Just pray to b posted to any place that ends with 'commission' in its name or private companies. FCTA is stil okay but they only pay after every 3 months. Don't fear to b posted to Abaji, cos u won't spend much to spend there and d residents or indigos may Provide free acomodation for u. Don't spend too much while in camp cos d money will b very useful to u after camp, esp on transportation. Don't live 'ajabota life' on camp wen didn't come wit much cash; always eat wot they cook using ur meal card. Don't join many activities on camp cos u may b used and posted to where u didn't desire after promises frm platoon officers. Try as muCh as possible to go to parade ground wen its time, cos it'l help ur health stability. For more call me on 08034623136. Congrats and welcome to land of opportunities! tanx bro, am on my way. . |

yokiti: You all can learn a little or more from this advice below: . @ Adaeze, firstly, i congratulate you for the achievement of the moment and I pray that such joy will be everlasting and as well; lead to greater glory.
To answer your questions: 1. The photocopies you have made is very okay please, there is no need to make another one. 2. Go with all the 26 passport but I assure you that you will have at least 10 passport photogragh remaining even after you might have done your PPA registration. i said earlier in my post that of all the over 16 copies of every document/ credential I took to Paiko camp in Niger state, I only used just 1 COPY of my statement of result; i still have other lying fallow where I kept them since then. as regard your dressing of sunday, you will be allowed to change to ant attires of yours on sunday but remember you will have to revert back to your WHITE on WHITE "angelic apparel" when it is 2pm every sunday. Nobody will query you forwearing a coloured shoe or cloth to church, the only thing you can do to incur the wrath of the military men (I mentioned Military men because the are incharge of discipline in camp, nevertheless, dont be afraid, the best they can do is to take you to guardroom at the security post; which some of my colleagues then in Paiko camp, Niger state prefer to the hall of residence because of the availability of the social amenities like Ac and good water closet when the call of nature comes. . Let me also remind you that other punish, ent like squating down at its like too may make life miserable for someone at that moment if you are asked to serve such punishment) in camp, please wait to the day of your swearing in before you adjust your Khaki so as not to be swindle by the makeshift tailors there (those that did the ammendment before the Thurday of our swearing in paid #1000 while I paid #500 only for mine on the said date; the price of the ammendment decreases as you go further into the orientation ), make sure the Trousers is not too tight when ammending because the Khaki has the tendencies of shrinking(becoming shorter) after washing. You can snap pictures with the photographers put make sure you wait to a day before passing out before you pay for it(I said this because the prices would have reduced drastically). . Please go with Cardigan and wash and wear white clothing because of the frustration of drying after washing as THIS IS RAINY season. You can get a rubber wears/ shoe to safe energy from washing at all times when dirty. Camp will be fun later on as you get used to their various but I assure you, it can be frustrating at the beginning
On a final note, if you are not in Lagos presently, try not to follow cross country so as to safe enough money. Below is the reason why I said that. . CROSS COUNTRY FROM to PAIKO camp last Orientation in MARCH costs #8500 while the other vehicle I boarded took me less than #4200 (#1800 to Ilorin, #2000 to minna from Ilorin, #150 to paiko about 15 minutes journey from Minna). This is a huge difference of MORE THAN #4000. This is the same thing my other colleagues in different camp across the federation experienced. Forget the Sausage (Gala) and pepsi or so they will serve you and the cap they will give. . Please my fast becoming NYSC colleagues; the ball is in your court to judge if you want to save money or you want to do otherwise. Hope to see you all in Peace and good health when the hour cometh on JUNE 25th. Safe journey!!!
Caveat: all what I have said is based on my Personal experience ONLY in Paiko camp, NIGER state and may not be applicable to all orientation camps across the federation. Thanks and God bless you all. Please, pardon my typo- errors , I did the typing on phone. tanx bro, though i was posted 2 fct but hv gain a lot 4rm ur write up. More wisdom sir. |
