dejiotus: Stanbic IBTC account number to fund the Stanbic IBTC Dollar Fund is 0034131849. There is a charge of about 20 dollars if someone makes the transfer via the Standard Chartered account I finally got through the whole process and invested the in the dollar fund but i was sent a purchase certificate which i do not understand. How do you check your funds daily? |

mymadam:
It is NOT difficult at all. Here is the simplest method, IMHO...
1. Open a domiciliary account at StanbicIBTC. 2. Change Naira to Dollar at parallel market. 3. Fund your domiciliary account with over USD1000... (Minimum for initial deposit into your dollar fund account) 4. Go to your domiciliary account and transfer AT LEAST USD1000 to your dollar fund account.
NOTE:
(a) Use the Stanbic account number sent to you via pdf attachment when you opened the account... NOT the Standard Bank account but the Stanbic one. (b) You MUST enter the account code sent to you on registering (for both sender AND receiver notes). If you fail to do this, sorry o!
5. To fund the account later, simply follow the same process by transferring a minimum of USD500 each time.
I use this method all the time without stress. You may check for your interest... in USD, EVERY WORKING DAY! Hope this helps I finally got through the whole process and invested the in the dollar fund but i was sent a purchase certificate which i do not understand. How do you check your funds daily? |

This is no scam. It's purely leveraging on BVN database which I think all banks have access to. Your BVN record contains your Names, phone number, Bank accounts, and Picture. The only thing that may be wrong was creating bank accounts without the knowledge of the person and as an IT guy, I know your account can be created on request via the USSD code. They were just trying to be "Technologically" Smart and proactive such that with the use of a USSD code, you can have an account created without stepping into the halls of the bank. |

shayhune: Unfortunately, I can't access the account I used for this NL account at the moment, hence my inability to respond to PMs. I'm glad you found this forum. There's a wealth of information here for free. Just keep following and reading past/present posts. In no time, your aspirations would be fulfilled.
Also, I can deduce from your previous question that you intend to fund your studying here in the US. Please don't. I've seen guys live miserable lives here all in the name of hustling to pay bills and tuition. Try to get some scholarship, even if it's just tuition waiver. That will go a long way in settling in easily when you eventually come over. I wish you all the best. Wow! Thanks a lot for this advise. I wanted to know your name. Since you said you recognize me. |

shayhune: If that fund would be needed as a proof of funding for whatever school you're admitted to, then you would need to liquidate it.
However, if you need it as a proof/source of funding when going for your visa interview, then you need to liquidate it few months (1 -2) before your interview.
By the way, this name sounds familiar. Did you attend Unilag (class of 2013/2014)? Yes, I did. Let me PM u. Thanks for the info. |

Hello house, please do I need to liquidate my Stanbic mutual funds before using it as a POF OR I can just get a letter from the bank stating i have access to the funds anytime i need it...
If it happens I have to liquidate, does that have to be 6 months before I apply for the visa?
Thanks in advance. |

Originalsly: Everything about your 'analysis' is wrong.
Tell us how long he will take to build a house in the US vs how long the OP will take to build a house in Nigeria.......what can he do in the US with money earned in the US vs what OP can do in Nigeria with his Nigerian earnings. Though a serious minded IT expert can start building his house earlier than the USA guy. Cos The USA guy needs some years to adjust and stabilize. But in the long run, the US guy is a winner. |

So I had this long discussion with my parents regarding my recent desperation to travel despite my comfortable life here. So they were of the opinion that the guy with a good Job in Nigeria is better off, will save more money, do better things than the guy over there.
So my bro and I came up with this analysis after some research.
So I want the house to please verify this.
Statistically, The average IT guy in USA earns around $5000 a month, spends $2,000 out of it on his monthly expenses and saves $3,000 Which is X 1.5 his monthly expenses
Whereas, the Average skilled IT guy in Nigeria earns around $400 a month but commensurately spends $100 on his monthly expenses and saves $300 which is X3 his monthly expenses
If they both stop working after a year, the US guy can only fend for 18months without pay while the guy in Nigeria can fend for 36 months without pay
Also, the Nigerian guy can easily start a life and build his career than his US counterpart.
How true? |

Just look for the email address of your faculty coordinator (Undergraduate or Graduate depending on which level you're applying for). You should be able to get a tangible response. University of Ottawa finally updated my file. Master of Computer Science (Fall 2019) Status: Refused Last update: 2018-10-31 We unfortunately cannot offer you admission in the program you requested. According to the mail I got from them, it was stated as follows "Please keep in mind that the evaluation process takes an average of 10-12 weeks from the time a file is considered complete; you will be notified via e-mail if there are any changes or updates regarding your file." I'm not sure if this is for all faculties or just Engineering. Mine is 21 weeks already. My file was completed June 5 for fall 2019. Do I write to them or I wait till November ending as you have explained? |
