Hi everyone, would need your advice here. This has been bothering my mind for a while now.

We (family of 3) have been on this Canada waka since 2021 and entered the pool last year April with a score of 477. Looking at the recent CRS score trends, it will take some time for the score to get to that point. So I am working on writing my ielts again in order to get max score which would take us to 483, also note that I am the primary applicant. We honestly, we want to leave soon and we do not want to waste anymore time since EE is mostly unpredictable these days.

So we recently thought of going via the study route, my husband applies for a graduate certificate in a college against Jan 2024 and we accompany him. While I still retain my EE profile with the hope of getting a better ielts score.

Questions are:
1. If we start processing this study visa, and also the line we get ITA, can we still proceed with the EE ?
2. Would it be possible for my husband to continue studying while I am working on getting us the PR via EE at the same time as we are in Canada?

I am asking these questions to know if we go on with study visa, would it affect our Express entry path to PR?

If you have any idea or suggestions, kindly feel free to shoot.
Thanks in anticipation.

Question 1: Yes, you can proceed. Google dual intent Canada

Question 2: Yes

Is basquet old? Yes, his is
Is he a vital puzzle in that squad? Yes, he is.
Does Barca need him for one more season? Yes

In as much as most Barca fans are tired of seeing basquets play due to his old age, I can boldly say that Barca is not prepared for Life without Basquet. We don’t have any replacement for him in that team and whenever he doesn’t play you can easily tell with the lack of composure in the team… he brings a great deal of balance to our play.

I’m in support of extending his contract by one year and getting a replacement this summer to understudy him.

Done and dusted

Visit visa Application for 4 parents
All Applications submitted sept 18, 2022
First PPR (MIL) 17 Jan 2023
Second PPR (FIL) 15 feb 2023
Third and forth PPR (parents) 28th feb 2023

The funny part is that my parents got their PPR last despite having US visa and multiple travel history while my parents in law who did not have any travel history got their PPR earlier.

Last last there’s no hard and fast rule with IRCC.

To the best of my knowledge u can get mobile and 8gb data plans for 55cad in Toronto. In fact I use Bells and I pay 55cad for 20gb unlimited data and calls. Your plan is a reap off.

I

Why in the world will any one who's got an EU citizenship want to come to Canada? Canada is overrated! i have lived there for almost 2 decades ( Calgary and Winnipeg ) and i keep telling folks if you got another option like the UK and Australia or NZ go for it! unless you don't have an option you can consider Canada.

Canadians cant even afford vacations without working 2 jobs or a side hustle, all they do is work work work! the pay sucks and the US dollar kicks the Canadian dollars in the ass.
I am sorry Sir, I totally disagree with this statement. Well maybe this is true amongst your clique or circle but within my circle this is not the case.
Canada is the land where subtle racism was invented, you need to write one certification or get one license or the other for you to get into a real professional gig as your experiences outside the country means nothing to them!

I also disagree with this statement. In my field (finance/accounting/auditing), ur experience outside Canada is not discounted and u don’t need to write any professional exams before u get professional jobs in that industry.

Toronto and Vancouver are the most expensive cities but lots of opportunities ( a more milder climate of maybe -20 in the deep winter) there, just like Newyork and California but be ready to rent someones basement. Even Canadians are looking for greener pastures in the Us. My friend Honestly the lawn is not always as green as it looks on the otherside. If you consider other provinces be prepared for the cold and owning 2 cars insurance is thru the roof, telecoms bills are crazily expensive. the wether makes everyone depressed. Think Again!

Masters in Electrical and experience in nuclear power generation
Unfortunately I don’t have so much experience in the engineering profession, however, I am aware that u need some professional certifications to fully delve into that field in Canada. However, don’t limit yourself to what people say, be very positive and optimistic about your plans. I have seen several people get jobs in Canada without having to go a level lower and I believe this can also be your portion if you have the right mindset.
The above being said, you can check the following power coys for job opportunities:
1. Ontario Power Generation (one of the best paying govt agency)
2. Hydro one
3. Enbridge
4 TC Energy cooperation
5. Bruce power
6. IESO

So you feel people are considering moving to Canada from the UK?

I don’t feel, I know Atleast 5 friends who are currently trying to navigate their way to Canada from UK.

Caveat: They all came into Canada via study route, so your case is quite different from theirs.

Thanks for the headsup. So the only issue with Canada I feel is they do not appears to valorise European engineering experience. Almost feel like people have to take junior roles and have to go through the process of Foreign Credential Recognition and all.

Stepping up job search though and the ideal situation will be to get a job before landing Canada. For now, I am making the most of the pre-arrival settlement services, networking and stepping up my résumé.

Provide more details on your job experience and academic qualifications and we can give u advise on how to navigate the Canadian employment waters

Thanks for the detailed followup. Yes, male. Wife has short experience (1 year) in healthcare in the UK and is looking to study nursing or a related course in health care. Kids are 10 and below.

1. Move to UK and take up the job offer.

2. Move my family to Canada, this will give me wife and kids access to quality education and means of life. This will also put them on the part to getting their citizenship.

3. Wify should take up a small job that would allow her take care of the kids while studying for her nursing exams.

4. Wify would benefit from the child care benefits of up to 700cad per child coupled with the free education for the kids. The CCB money and her small salary can be used to take care of the home front while u work and save heavily from your UK salary.

5. I would make periodic visits to my family in Canada maybe once a quarter. while working in UK, I will be actively applying for Jobs in Canada and eventually relocate to join my family in Canada.

However, if I were in your shoes, I wouldn’t do this because I don’t think I can leave apart from my family ( I would move with my family to Canada and keep pushing from there)… but if u are not bothered about staying away from ur family then u can go ahead with my advise.

Hi Everyone,

Your input, especially from those with first hand experience would be appreciated.

We got Canadian PR last year and are aiming to relocate to Canada this summer (family of 5).

However, got a job offer (65k GBP) per year plus sponsorship for just myself. I will have to sort of Visa fees for my family as company will not do this. So I am just thinking how much I will have to budget just for the move.

The sponsorship will be for 3 years so I need to budget for NHS surcharge (3× 600 X 4) and visa fees 600 x 4 I think. Also, I think I have to réserve a minimum balance in my account?

I visited UK last December and the cost of living is high.

Option 2 is to continue with out Canadian plan as we have PR. The thing is no job lined up. I have stepped up search though.

ILR will take 5 years while we already have PR.

Anyone with experience with having to choose from the two countries?

Regards.
From your response, I suspect that u are male. Would need some more information on your family composition.
How old are your kids?
What’s your wife’s career specialisation?
Do u have any support (family) in Canada?
The answer to these questions would determine what advise I can give to you.

Hello everyone. Thank you for the great works.
I am 26yrs old and I also have a masters degree. I have evaluated my credential and also written IELTS (awaiting results). Hope to hop into the pool as soon as results are released.
However, my area of concern is, I am a single mum of an 8 months old baby I want to take with me.
Will adding her affect my application in anyway? I heard that someone's application was once refused because she couldn't convince IRCC that she could work and also take care of her child. What do you suggest I do? I really can't trust anyone with my baby.

Just ensure you get a valid/original consent letter from the father of the child stating that he has voluntarily granted u permission to travel with the child.

You know it's a lovely thing to drive a brand new car (tear rubber)........

For the 1st few month's, the car go dey shack person ......

After a few month's and almost £2000 already paid + other financial pressures joining that long queue.......

Would you still love that car ............😂😜
Although I am based in Canada, what u have written here applies across board. From the short time I have spent in mapleland, I have come to realise that the major mistake most new immigrants make is financing a car. So many older immigrants have made that same mistake and they keep telling the newer immigrants not to make that same mistake but these pleas often falls on deaf ears. The adrenaline to drive a brand new car pushes a lot of immigrant into untold hardship.

To further buttress my point, in Canada as of today the average salary is $75k per annum which equates to 4K per month after taxes. The average 2021-2023 car costs approximately $800 per month coupled with insurance cost of $400 per month and fuelling costs of $300 per month. Before the twinkle of an eye, you are set back $1,500 per month because u want to drive a brand new car and show off to people that don’t care about what u drive.

I am preacher of the buy a older car cash down ($5k) and move on with ur life. 3 years down the line after u have gathered valuable investments (real estate, stocks, a biz) u can then buy the car of your choice.. This is the approach I have chosen, to each mallam his kettle😂

I need candid advice.
With the current state of EE draws, Is it advisable for someone in the pool to go the study route…or to just exercise patience till whenever?

CRS is 468
So many factors are involved:
1. How old are you?
2. What’s your highest academic qualification?
3. When is ur ielts expiring , did u max out your ielts?
4. Do u have the required funds to pursue Canadian education?
5. Are you aware that the visa refusal rate for study visa is very high

What about Pedri and Robert?

Wasn’t so impressed with Pedri today would rate him a 6.5. He didn’t provide major threats going forward and the sitter chance he got, he squandered it.

For Robert, his presence alone is a nightmare for defenders and I like how he imposes himself on the game. Would have given him a 7 but because he scored a goal by showing awareness would rate him a 7.5.

Meanwhile, no one noticed Busquets dropping an excellent game, alongside Pedri in the midfield.

Very impressed with him. It is obvious he plays better when played in midfield of 4 now. His passing range under pressure, remains some of the best out there.

MOTM for me today, he's shown once again that in the right system he's a master of space, precision, timing, and positioning...

Nice game from the lads…
My observations:
1. We have a good back line with options in the bench and versatility. The back line can be twerked depending on the opposition.
2. Balde is a very good replacement for alba. balde also got the MVP of the match.
3. We have a gem in Gavi, the way he drives the ball forward towards the opposition is fun to watch.
4. De jong is a midfield controller. He dictates the tempo of the game with ease.
5. Despite the criticisms, it’s very difficult for anyone to easily displace Busquets in that squad except he leaves. Baba na player, his touches and deftness takes out 2/3 players at a go. Basquets na senior man
6. Ansu has lost his magic touch, he gave away so many passes. He could hardly sting up two link up passes
