Thanks for sharing… I prefer and like the concept of the 3 bedroom. Gives some space in the compound for kids to run around compared to the 4 bedroom which the compound looks choked up

Of course, your multiple visas (whether expired or valid) to the U.S., U.K., Aussie alone are enough to facilitate speedy response.
This is not true, I applied for my parents in sept and up till now no visa. They had US, UK and shenghen visa.

Guess what, I also applied for my Mother in law on the same date in sept, fresh passport without any travel history and she already got her PPR in December.

Just trying to tell you that there’s no hard and fast rule with IRCC, no two applications are treated the same.

Politics / Re: G-5 Govs: ‘i’m Elephant, I Can’t Be Taken By Surprise,’ Says Atiku by seunpinky(m): 12:58am On Dec 31, 2022
I agree with the majority of your post... However, I thought the party is higher/bigger than any individual. How come the PDP is finding it difficult to expel the G5 governors based on anti-party activities?

lawyer:
There is a lot of dislike for Atiku which is quite understandable but everyone is ignoring the fact that it was PDP as a whole that chose Atiku to be its flag bearer. They didn't choose Anyim, Udom, Fayose, Dele Momodu, or Wike as their Flag bearer but Atiku. Many delegates in the South-South and South-East voted for Atiku rather than their kinsmen despite the heavy bribery and dollar rain thrown around by each southern candidate to vote for them. At the end of the day, the party chose to pick Atiku. Even Wike said he would work with whoever the flag bearer ends up with but all this G-5 nonsense by these governors is uncalled for.

If they hated Atiku so much, why not leave the party? Why stay in the party and continue with anti-party activities? Many people would be happy with what is going on in PDP but at the end of the day, if APC wins irrespective of whether you are an Obi-dient or Atikulate, the South-South and South-East loses because Tinubu is a maverick politician and power would never shift to either Labour or PDP in 16 years. If Obi loses the election, many of Obi supporters would abandon Labour and realise that only Pdp can give them an Igbo President.

If the G5 continues to destroy the party from within, what are the chances of an Igbo president in 2027 if Obi does not win now? Politics should not be played with emotions but with raw facts and intelligence. Atiku is right to ignore these people and campaign on his own without them. Whether they support him or not, it's only God that creates leaders, not Men. Nobody knows who would win but those playing God under the guise of G5 to engage in anti-party activities would be humbled in the end.

Finally, be afraid of a Man that does not speak but is working underground. Almost everyone has underrated Atiku's chances. Atiku is too experienced in this game to be fazed by all these things. When we are getting close to the election I expect Atiku to use his last card which are the Northern clerics, Imans, Emirs, Miyetti Allah, and Northern Elders Forum to close ranks for their son including the registered underage voters, the IDPs in the Northern, the Tawakalitus, Poor people in the North, the imported mercenaries from Niger and Mali and finally The North's quest to always hold onto power irrespective of who is sitting on that chair. Hate or like this method, he wants to win and would do everything to win. He knows he holds the aces based on the numbers of the voting population in the North and every Obi-dient or Batist should be silently worried.

Underate Atiku at your own peril. 30 years of playing this deadly Nigerian Chess game quietly no be yam ooo!

Good evening senior men,

Which Nigerian bank card allow for international ATM withdrawal in Canada and what's their monthly ATM withdrawal limit please?

Thanks.

Open a USD dorm account and apply for a master card. Move your funds from the dorm account to the master card account. With this, you will be able to withdraw 1,000 cad daily from the ATM in Canada. You will also be charged 3cad per transaction. U can use GtBank

Romance / Re: Do People From Broken Homes Have Successful Marriage? by seunpinky(m): 3:48pm On Nov 30, 2022
First things first, it’s not the fault of your partner that he/she is from a broken home. You can’t blame your partner for the decision of their parents to break up.

Secondly, I have seen people from broken home swear that they would do whatever they can to ensure that they don’t have a broken home.

Thirdly, not coming from a broken home doesn’t mean you can not have a broken home.

In conclusion, you have to evaluate your partner to know if they have not been psychologically affected by the ills/negative effects of a broken home. You also need to evaluate yourself to know if your “unbroken home background” is not going to have any negative effect on ur future home. Some unbroken homes are more toxic than some broken homes.

They are your typical immigration agency, they don’t have any affiliation with IRCC.

They will tell u to pay app 10k for evaluation to know if you qualify to migrate to canada, after this they will tell you to pay $3500 in two instalments. You will most likely receive phone calls from their representatives who are whites, don’t fall for that shit ooo….

Actually, I will like to learn how you did that. I can say for certain that Canada is not a hell of a place to live. Even when it gets really cold, it is still not hell of a place. People have different reasons for migrating. I know people that move back to Nigeria and lose their PR immediately they realize Canada is not for them. That's their choice and they live by it.

You can look into my responses to @slydog for some insights on how to get this done.

She just got a FG job here, resumption is Monday. Combined income now 120k, still room for improvement, but I think we have done well for ourselves in 5months.
I've gotten the 25% pension, used it settle lots of stuff back home. Ccb a Lil over 550, did resp of 210 for my kid, our savings for dp should double now since my wife will start working, we plan on taking some life insurance too.
Looking forward to tax season, I hope I'll get something good as rebate given that I started working in August
Still learning the housing industry, townhomes, duplex, 4plex etc

You will get about 4K -5k combined as tax refunds depending on what province u live. You are on track for the down payment, just keep saving up. You can hold on on the life insurance for now until u are about to close on your house. At that time u can get either a term life or universal life insurance. You can reach out to @supersalescoach on IG for more guidance on the life insurance. I currently have a term life but will switch to universal life later on.
For your family size, you will be fine having a townhouse ( 3 bedroom with basement)

Congratulations to the family on your wife’s new job. The sky is the starting point…. Pls don’t follow the crowd that shouts it cannot be done, follow people wey know road

Hi namesake, I'm 5 months in the country.
Pls teach me how to do two ppty in 16months.
Currently saving for my first dp, hopefully next year so that I can plan well. Tnx

Bro you are on the right path, went through your posts and I can see that u are focused. You are just 5months in the country and u are already making plans to buy your house.

Keep saving and when your wife eventually gets a job add her income to the family saving pot. I assume that You are also getting about $700 in child care benefits, set up a RESP for your kid, do an auto debit so they remove about $200 per month which will eventually lead to about $2,500 per annum and you will get an additional $500 free from the govt.

Also during tax season, u should get a sizeable amount as tax refunds… u can also add this to ur savings.

Depending on what u were doing back in Nigeria, u can also apply to get 25% of your pension funds and convert it to cad asap. Add this to your savings

You have time to respond. You actually presented a scenario of someone living the one of the most expensive city in Canada. Imagine if the person is leaving the Prairies or the Maritimes, the person would actually save more. He will spend less on accommodation.

I’m on the train so I have little time to banter grin.
I don’t understand why people think Canada is a hell of a place to live.

I have a younger friend that landed some months ago as a student, she’s doing two jobs one as an education assistant paying $26/hr and another as a PSW earning $25/hr. She juggles these two jobs alongside her studies. She stays in a shared apartment and pays rent of $500 per month all inclusive. You can imagine how much she would be saving on a monthly basis.

I would have loved to share an analysis of how I was able to do 2 houses in 16months and how I raised the money but I see that most people are not here to learn. They think everybody is a lamba god grin

cheesy cheesy

Let's say I'm earning 100k Annually.

After deduction of taxes and Monthly payments like Insurance... House e.t.c

How much will I be left with at a rough estimate

Let me help with this:
If u earn 100k per annum ur net monthly income is approximately 5,600
As a single person living a modest life:
basement Accommodation in Mississauga
monthly rent is 1200 (inclusive of all bills)
Groceries 350
Phone bill 50
Internet 80
Transport 200
Flex money 300

Can’t think of other expenses right now… but as a single person living a modest life and earning 100k per annum u should be able to save 30k per annum.

What are the major expenses that eats into the income of single people:
1. Rents in highbrow areas/condos (2,200/month)
2. Cars on finance… if u are financing a car, an average of 1k leaves ur income ( car payment 500, car insurance 300, petrol 300) that’s 1,100 cad per month on car.
3. Expensive dates where they spend an average of 150cad per date night.
4. They save up for expensive vacations without having investments.

N:B: human wants are different and what tickles our fantasies also differs. However if u live a modest life in Canada and you earn 70k and above you will be able to have good savings at the end of each month.

I have a female friend working in one of the big 4s living in Kitchener and she’s paying rent of 1,600 per month. She said she can’t live in a shared apartment and she can’t stay in a basement. She doesn’t have any plans to buy a home. Meanwhile in that same Kitchener other single folks are paying 800 as rent for one room per month.

I have a single female friend, the babe is focused she didn’t live a lavish lifestyle, She was very frugal with her funds. She was able to save up to buy a townhouse in Kitchener. Guess what she did, she maintained one room for her self and she rented out the 4 other rooms collecting 700 per room converted the siting room to another room This gives her a rental income of 2,800.

In the same vein, I have a married friend who earns less than 100k but has a combined family income of about 140k and he just bought his second house.

All these examples including me are all less than 30 years. Oya argue with ur keypads

Even the natives of these countries no dey carry am for head like you lot. Just say things as they are, be straightforward, it is so easy. I don't believe you on the 120k.
No, I haven't made 72m, but even this 72m you mentioned is just for now. TRF it now and cash it. Only then does it become real. At a time just 2yrs ago, CAD was 215, so if something out of the ordinary happened today (it still happened last week) and the exchange rate dropped, you wouldn't have 72m, and won't be able to buy the house on the island or mainland, except from japa crew wey dey find ticket money sha. And no, you don't have two houses yet. I have mine though.

Also what is my opinion? I have an inkling you don't even know it to begin with. Pls tell me so I know you are on the mark.

Meanwhile, congrats on your choices. Not doing bad with mine either.

The problem with Nigeria power sector is not generation but transmission and distribution.
There are 4 major problems in the Nigeria power sector:
1. Generation: For a country the size and population of Nigeria, we are not generating enough electricity (6,056MW) to cater for the power demand of Lagos state talk more of Nigeria.

2. Transmission: Another big problem, although TCN is trying much more can be done in this space. We have losses btw the transmission centres to the distribution centres.

3. Distribution: This is the elephant in the room, there are lots of problems in the power distribution sector ( the privatisation of the discos was not properly carried out, metering, collections, load rejection)

4. Legislation: For the power sector to be fully efficient, there has to be some changes in our power legislations ( Removal of franchise areas from the discos contract, Allow govt/ interested private coys generate (IPPs) and sell power to under the willing buyer/seller agreement etc).
Private investors are finding it difficult to get/attract foreign fundings for power projects because of all these challenges esp in the area of legislation.

The Siemens deal is step in the right direction.

However, for Nigeria to have full power sufficiency, Nigerians must be willing and ready to pay for premium cost for electricity, cos electricity aiint cheap.

Your engineer is correct. He can not make any scientifically informed decision on the best foundation for your project without carrying out a soil test.

The importance of soil test cannot be over emphasised, you will be shocked that two plots right beside each other will have different soil bearing capacity.

Having said the above, there are other crude methods of determining soil bearing capacity. These includes the experience and knowledge of the engineer that has worked in that area, the type of grass/weed that's grown on the land etc.

My submission would be that you should get a soil test done. 200k spent today on soil test will save your building, what does it profit you not to spend on a soil test and do a stripe pad foundation and the building collapsing in the future due to bad/wrong foundation?

covgrace10:
Thanks for the response. I’m just confused. Don’t want to spend 8 million on raft only.

I was told to do the test is 200k which is too expensive for me because presently the boq has doubled already.

He said without the soul test result he can’t decide on any other foundation which the estate owners didn’t do because my portion of land and land area is in the upper area. It was a hill before it was leveled. Even presently there’s still concrete covering it.

Please What’s your area of specialization.
