obinwanne:This is not true, I applied for my parents in sept and up till now no visa. They had US, UK and shenghen visa. Guess what, I also applied for my Mother in law on the same date in sept, fresh passport without any travel history and she already got her PPR in December. Just trying to tell you that there’s no hard and fast rule with IRCC, no two applications are treated the same. 6 Likes |

Acquiredollars: Open a USD dorm account and apply for a master card. Move your funds from the dorm account to the master card account. With this, you will be able to withdraw 1,000 cad daily from the ATM in Canada. You will also be charged 3cad per transaction. U can use GtBank 1 Like 1 Share |

Romance / Re: Do People From Broken Homes Have Successful Marriage? by seunpinky(m): 3:48pm On Nov 30, 2022 |
First things first, it’s not the fault of your partner that he/she is from a broken home. You can’t blame your partner for the decision of their parents to break up. Secondly, I have seen people from broken home swear that they would do whatever they can to ensure that they don’t have a broken home. Thirdly, not coming from a broken home doesn’t mean you can not have a broken home. In conclusion, you have to evaluate your partner to know if they have not been psychologically affected by the ills/negative effects of a broken home. You also need to evaluate yourself to know if your “unbroken home background” is not going to have any negative effect on ur future home. Some unbroken homes are more toxic than some broken homes. |

Javuubaba:They are your typical immigration agency, they don’t have any affiliation with IRCC. They will tell u to pay app 10k for evaluation to know if you qualify to migrate to canada, after this they will tell you to pay $3500 in two instalments. You will most likely receive phone calls from their representatives who are whites, don’t fall for that shit ooo…. 2 Likes |

slydog: You will get about 4K -5k combined as tax refunds depending on what province u live. You are on track for the down payment, just keep saving up. You can hold on on the life insurance for now until u are about to close on your house. At that time u can get either a term life or universal life insurance. You can reach out to @supersalescoach on IG for more guidance on the life insurance. I currently have a term life but will switch to universal life later on. For your family size, you will be fine having a townhouse ( 3 bedroom with basement) Congratulations to the family on your wife’s new job. The sky is the starting point…. Pls don’t follow the crowd that shouts it cannot be done, follow people wey know road 5 Likes 4 Shares |

slydog: Bro you are on the right path, went through your posts and I can see that u are focused. You are just 5months in the country and u are already making plans to buy your house. Keep saving and when your wife eventually gets a job add her income to the family saving pot. I assume that You are also getting about $700 in child care benefits, set up a RESP for your kid, do an auto debit so they remove about $200 per month which will eventually lead to about $2,500 per annum and you will get an additional $500 free from the govt. Also during tax season, u should get a sizeable amount as tax refunds… u can also add this to ur savings. Depending on what u were doing back in Nigeria, u can also apply to get 25% of your pension funds and convert it to cad asap. Add this to your savings 2 Likes 1 Share |

lanresz:I’m on the train so I have little time to banter . I don’t understand why people think Canada is a hell of a place to live. I have a younger friend that landed some months ago as a student, she’s doing two jobs one as an education assistant paying $26/hr and another as a PSW earning $25/hr. She juggles these two jobs alongside her studies. She stays in a shared apartment and pays rent of $500 per month all inclusive. You can imagine how much she would be saving on a monthly basis. I would have loved to share an analysis of how I was able to do 2 houses in 16months and how I raised the money but I see that most people are not here to learn. They think everybody is a lamba god 2 Likes |

Nezzjnr: Let me help with this: If u earn 100k per annum ur net monthly income is approximately 5,600 As a single person living a modest life: basement Accommodation in Mississauga monthly rent is 1200 (inclusive of all bills) Groceries 350 Phone bill 50 Internet 80 Transport 200 Flex money 300 Can’t think of other expenses right now… but as a single person living a modest life and earning 100k per annum u should be able to save 30k per annum. What are the major expenses that eats into the income of single people: 1. Rents in highbrow areas/condos (2,200/month) 2. Cars on finance… if u are financing a car, an average of 1k leaves ur income ( car payment 500, car insurance 300, petrol 300) that’s 1,100 cad per month on car. 3. Expensive dates where they spend an average of 150cad per date night. 4. They save up for expensive vacations without having investments. N:B: human wants are different and what tickles our fantasies also differs. However if u live a modest life in Canada and you earn 70k and above you will be able to have good savings at the end of each month. I have a female friend working in one of the big 4s living in Kitchener and she’s paying rent of 1,600 per month. She said she can’t live in a shared apartment and she can’t stay in a basement. She doesn’t have any plans to buy a home. Meanwhile in that same Kitchener other single folks are paying 800 as rent for one room per month. I have a single female friend, the babe is focused she didn’t live a lavish lifestyle, She was very frugal with her funds. She was able to save up to buy a townhouse in Kitchener. Guess what she did, she maintained one room for her self and she rented out the 4 other rooms collecting 700 per room converted the siting room to another room This gives her a rental income of 2,800. In the same vein, I have a married friend who earns less than 100k but has a combined family income of about 140k and he just bought his second house. All these examples including me are all less than 30 years. Oya argue with ur keypads 1 Like |

Bahamas95:There are 4 major problems in the Nigeria power sector: 1. Generation: For a country the size and population of Nigeria, we are not generating enough electricity (6,056MW) to cater for the power demand of Lagos state talk more of Nigeria. 2. Transmission: Another big problem, although TCN is trying much more can be done in this space. We have losses btw the transmission centres to the distribution centres. 3. Distribution: This is the elephant in the room, there are lots of problems in the power distribution sector ( the privatisation of the discos was not properly carried out, metering, collections, load rejection) 4. Legislation: For the power sector to be fully efficient, there has to be some changes in our power legislations ( Removal of franchise areas from the discos contract, Allow govt/ interested private coys generate (IPPs) and sell power to under the willing buyer/seller agreement etc). Private investors are finding it difficult to get/attract foreign fundings for power projects because of all these challenges esp in the area of legislation. The Siemens deal is step in the right direction. However, for Nigeria to have full power sufficiency, Nigerians must be willing and ready to pay for premium cost for electricity, cos electricity aiint cheap. 4 Likes |

Properties / Re: Raft Or Strip Foundation by seunpinky(m): 9:48pm On Oct 17, 2022 |
Your engineer is correct. He can not make any scientifically informed decision on the best foundation for your project without carrying out a soil test. The importance of soil test cannot be over emphasised, you will be shocked that two plots right beside each other will have different soil bearing capacity. Having said the above, there are other crude methods of determining soil bearing capacity. These includes the experience and knowledge of the engineer that has worked in that area, the type of grass/weed that's grown on the land etc. My submission would be that you should get a soil test done. 200k spent today on soil test will save your building, what does it profit you not to spend on a soil test and do a stripe pad foundation and the building collapsing in the future due to bad/wrong foundation? covgrace10: |
