@naptu2, good evening Sir. Pls do u mind sharing your thoughts on the recent developments around the whole Adeniyi Adeyemi saga that has been on the front burner of public discuss. Incase you have, can u please share a link to it as I must have missed it by chance. Thanks |
Asides Julian Alavarez, which other strikers are available and a good fit for the team? We can’t go into next season with Ferran as our top 9. |
Techu:Sell Raphina and replace with who in this current market?? ![]() |
pu7pl3:Which player would you like to see at Madrid after this transfer window? A player u think will be a major upgrade to the current crop of players. |
pu7pl3:Perez played a fast one on the fans… put out the media narrative that talks with Olise are on the way, then comes up with a major bid for a galatico. Pulls out a major “audio 150m bid” for Alvarez then comes back the next day that they won’t be going on with the pursuit ;. Perez just scam the fans. |
jpmoriarti:You took the words out of my mouth. Immediately, I saw that until he comes to the EPL to do those numbers, I just shook my head like, WTF is this. I am sure he is part of those folks that said Messi is not great because he did not do EPL numbers or that Messi cannot succeed in the EPL because he will be playing against teams like Stoke City . Same thing dey said about Pep until he came and dominated that league and they all begged for him to leave. |
nonny1212:Good signing but don’t know/where how he fits into the Madrid system. Does this mean less play time for Guler and no return for Paz? Cos you gonna have 5 CM/AM (Bernardo, Bellingham, Guler, Valverde, Paz). |
odizeey:Okay, pay cut to how much? Barca don’t want him? Barca can’t afford him? so what do u think the issue is? |
Mrviktor:Savinho is 21 years and currently on 80k pounds a week. Rashford is turning 30 next year and currently earns 235k pounds a week, who is gonna pay such huge salary to be a bench player? Hope u know Rashford earns more than Yamal, Raphina, Pedri and Olmo. The transfer fee is not the issue, the wage is to outrageous for a squad player. How will Barca pay you 250k pounds to sit on the bench |
‼️ FC Barcelona will have enough Fair Play room to sign Julián Álvarez once they enter the 1:1 rule starting July 1. 🗝️ Robert Lewandowski's departure is one of the keys, as we've always reported on @culemanias; another key is the sale of Ansu Fati to Monaco. 🧐 Let's recap: Barça has 12M left for the 1:1, but they'll offset it on July 1 thanks to Lewandowski's exit (freeing up 38.5M) and the increase in revenue budget from Spotify Camp Nou (+50M+-). 💰 These two actions mean Barça will have a positive balance of about 70/80M to use for registrations under the 1:1 rule. ⬇️ Let's count conservatively, say 70M. With the signing of Anthony Gordon, subtract 26M (12M salary and 14M annual amortization from dividing his 70M transfer fee over 5 seasons). 🏆 After the Gordon deal, Barça's balance drops to +44M. But if Ansu's sale to Monaco goes through, the total balance will rise back to 64M. ✅ Ansu's impact would be +20M, from: 11M transfer fee + 9.3M annual salary. 🤔 Remember, Ansu was on 14M salary, and when he had 2 seasons left, he renewed for the same amount for one extra year: the 28M, instead of divided by two (14), gets divided by three (9.3). 💸 Christensen frees up 9-12M in salary (there are conflicting reports on his pay) and will renew for 9M. So, either he frees up a bit or it stays the same and has no effect. 😏 If Atlético accepts Barça's offer for Julián Álvarez in exchange for 100M, the impact on the wage bill would be a minimum of 40M (20M annual amortization and 20M minimum salary). 😫 If Barça gives in to Atlético's demands and pays the 150M valuation, the minimum impact would be 50M annually (30M amortization and 20M salary). 🥲 This means that, with Ansu's sale, Barça could take on Julián's signing, but in any case, they'd be left severely depleted again with no room for more moves. ⚽️ Players like Cancelo and Rashford, plus the chance to bolster the fullbacks or center-back position, would get much harder if Barça goes all-in... 🤝 Another hypothesis gaining traction is that the deal lands at a middle ground: Barça is unlikely to pay more than 120M for Julián. If Atlético accepts that amount, the annual cost would be 44M (24M amortization and 20M salary). @abdulazeez1 |
AirBere:If he gets all the above, Expectations would be simple to win the UCL in another 2/3 years. I don’t think that’s off the roof. |
Derumklala12:Reports states that Barca has submitted a straight offer of €100m for Alvarez. |
Omo looking at the thread for the past 24 hours and all I can say is that nothing beats having a solid coach. Fans are not questioning Gordon’s signing because Flick specifically requested for him. Let’s just maintain this level of success for the next 3 years and crown it with one UCL |
🔥 BREAKING: Barcelona is preparing their first official bid for Julian Alvarez! It won’t include players. @FabrizioRomano #Transfers 💣💣 |
jpmoriarti:Don’t mind him, he is trying to deflect from the topic. Shameless team that can’t finish above Sunderland, Brentford, Brighton after spending 350m coming to lecture a team that won a domestic double. |
AirBere:Yes na, your team performed woefully and the best u can say is “next season dey”, wetin do this season? The last time your team won the League was 10 years ago (2016) ![]() |
AirBere:Nothing like next season dey, all the while u were on this thread doing multi-dimensional analysis on Barca’s problem, meanwhile your own club is under the water. |
@airbere, how is your weekend going? I’m sure u are somewhere licking your wounds from the season, asides celebrating winning Barca in the group stages of the UCL, u don’t have anything to show for this season. First, ice cold palmer was left out of the World Cup squad and as if that’s not enough your team ends up with 10th position in the league . After spending 350m euros on player transfers this season. Then u will come to this thread, and start spewing words like “Barca can’t win the UCL” meanwhile ur own club can’t even finish above Sunderland, Brighton, Bournemouth even Brentford… shame ![]() Pls spare us your analysis and go offer it to your club cos u guys are in for a long ride… |
Hansi Flick on Lewandowski’s replacement at Barça: “We need to look for a striker that fits our philosophy… but the most important thing is that he scores goals”. Atleast, the coach is re-echoing our thoughts, we need a goal scorer and a player that fits our philosophy. Unfortunately, asides the funds Oshimen doesn’t fit our philosophy :' what options do we have? |
Watching Joan Pedro in the past 45mins, I am sorry but there’s no way I would pay more than 60m for him.. to be honest, he’s not an upgrade to Ferran. With Joan Pedro upfront, we would just have two bang average strikers. Abeg make we commot body for that transfer. See who we want to replace (Robert Lewandowski) 👟 190 games ⚽️ 119 goals 🅰️ 24 assists 🌟 143 goal contributions 🏆 3x La Liga 🏆 1x Copa del Rey 🏆 3x Spanish Supercup And he did all these in 3 years from age 33 to 36 |
OkpaNsukkaisBae:PSG wants Alvarez |
jpmoriarti:I share your sentiments on Oshimen, very spot on. With regards the other strikers I listed (Kane,Halland) I was not referring to us buying them which I know is very impossible. Was just making reference to them vis-a-vis the big chances we created last season. For Joan Pedro, I will not pay more than $60m for him. He is still unproven and can turn out to be another Ferran. How much do you think Joan is worth? And tbh, there are no incentives for Chelsea to sell him. Anyways, Barca needs a solid 9 and experienced CB. |
By all standards, Barca ought to be at the level of AC Milan when they went through their financial crisis. All thanks to Laporta for doing a fantastic job with the management of the club. That decision to fire Xavi was one that I didn’t initially agree with but with hindsight, that was a master stroke that has defined this era. I vividly remember that press conference where Xavi said the team cannot compete, I wonder what he would have said after the massive buys Madrid pulled last summer. |
jpmoriarti:If we can’t get Oshimen or Alvarez due to their huge transfer fee, then Joao Pedro wouldn’t be a bad idea if he comes in for less than $50m. I just know that we can’t go into next season with Ferran as our top striker. I was watching highlights of the season and I was amazed on the amount of top chances we created that we couldn’t finish. I can imagine what Yamal’s stats would have been this season if he had a deadly striker like Kane, Haaland or Oshimen upfront. I also think we should try to keep Rashford for another season either on a season long loan or a cut transfer fee of $20m. The numbers he pulled last season will be difficult to get in today’s market, although I agree that he is not Barca standard in terms of style of play and all, but for the numbers he pulled this season as a squad player is quite impressive. |
kodded:I think most fans are quick to forget where we are as a club and still living with the mindset that Barca is a top club in world football. The fact that we are currently competing across board is largely due to the incredible work Flick has done over the past 2/3 years. We don’t have the financial resources to push for the UCL, can you compare the top 4 clubs in this current UCL, did u see how much they spent to improve their squad? We are not at that level financially, yes we got to the semis last season but it’s not a given. For the fans to request for the UCL trophy, then the club needs to back Flick with top players ( we all know the areas where the team is lacking - CF, CB and a good replacement for Raphina and Yamal). For us to get all these done, we will need to spend nothing less than 250m on player transfers, I am not sure we have that war chest at the moment. Please let’s manage our expectations for the team, enjoy the unprecedented success we have gathered domestically and hope for the best. |
Derumklala12:I agree with majority of the above, Ferran should remain a backup striker to a Young, hot, goalscoring and press inclined striker. I think Rashford should stay (either another season long loan or 20m transfer fee ( he has openly said he wants to remain, Man U would not like to keep a disgruntled player who will then spoil the chemistry the team is building. Getting a squad player with 30G/A ain’t easy to get in today’s market. Kounde needs to take a break to rest and come back refreshed, he has formed a formidable partnership and understanding with Yamal (similar to Alves and Messi combo). Buying another CB is non negotiable. Gavi playing as a DM alongside Pedri might be option to explore next season. If Gavi stays fit, we can offload Casado and FDJ (although unlikely). |
pu7pl3:What do u think of your President’s speech/press conference? I did not listen to it but the few high lights that I have seen leaves a bad taste. Was he trying to deflect the terrible past 2 seasons. He did not take ownership for the failure of his transfer signings. He did not say anything about the future of the team and its players but was focusing of having won 7 UCL and being robbed by Barca in the league, like seriously. Even went as far as gaslighting That’s an all time low, super crash out. |
AirBere:I agree with u on this one and I have always mentioned that Barca fans are having unrealistic expectations of winning the UCL despite winning the league back to back. The truth is that we can hardly compete at the highest level with the current squad. All what we have achieved in the last 2/3 seasons are all thanks to Flick, he has turned an average squad baring 3 elite footballers and a bunch of loanees into something magical and all of a sudden fans are gunning for the highest trophy in club football. The only way Barca can win the UCL is for the club to keep the current crop of players then invest in a quality CB with leadership qualities and a deadly striker. I was comparing Olise’s stats to Yamal and I saw that Olise has 22 assists this season and I came to a conclusion that “that’s what u get when u have Kane or Diaz upfront”. If Barca had a deadly striker upfront, Yamal would have atleast 25 assists this season. But I still remain proud of my team, they have done so well when we look at the minute details ( a defence line with a 23 yr old GK, two 19 year old CBs, midfield filled with youngsters, attack led by a 18 year old). A big Kudos to Flick, not sure we would be having this high expectations if it was Xavi or any other mediocre coach. |
jpmoriarti:On a game like this, I miss FDJ. He would have provided some calm in the MF alongside Pedri. There’s a lot on pressure and press on Pedri by NwC. If FDJ was on the field it would have given Pedri some room.. a midfield trio of FDJ, Pedri and Bernal would have been perfect to execute this game. Fermin would be better off the bench when the legs are tired |
@airbere, na wa ooo… pls critically analyse the disastrous performance of your club in the past few weeks. It’s seems like top 4 is out of reach this season despite all the signings, club World Cup hype, coach chopping ![]() |
Having Hansi Flick extend his contract is a big plus for the team. We just need to back him up with good signings this summer. |
Hbailey:Considering our finances and current market trends, I will continue with Balde and cancelo while focusing on getting a lethal striker during the summer. How many great LBs are in the market, How many are available and how many can we afford? |
