PoliticsRe: How Many African Countries Are In Support Of Biafra? by SeunPlus(op): 4:53pm On Dec 08, 2015
LoveDecay:
IPOB thinks UN runs the world. The main problem in eastern Nigeria is education. In the far north, its the uneducated who are gullible but in the failed state of Biafra its the educated who are gullible.

Reminds me of an Osoufia movie where he was a soldier that was to translate the white mans request to the villagers. Osoufia always twisted the translation, the villagers never understood.

Its the same with Nnamdi KANU or Shekua e.t.c one man that can identify the 26 alphabets but does not know the vowels are needed to.make meaningful sounds. Darkness everywhere

Present your argument and counter my opinion rather than being the typical Biafran that will always insult where he/she has nothing to say. After you chaps will say that Nigerians can't debate.

UN will support independence of Biafra. It is already on the flyers.
Dream on bro. I don't really know which UN you're refering to but I know it's definitely not the United Nations. Biafra has no chance, South Africa will continue to play second fiddle to Nigeria.

South Africa is in support and does not get a cold when Nigeria sneezes.
It easier for Putin to kiss Obama's feet than for South Africa to support Nigeria in anything. I know deep down in your hearts, you're looking forward to the day Nigeria will disintegrate but you will be shock because that's not going to happen. We've got the nutcases clamouring for Biafra under control.

the question was whether they recognised biafra and not whether senghor was ojukwus friend.
What are the processes involved in recognition of a secessionist state? Is it not safe to say Senegal recognized Biafra after it had received emissaries from Biafra and served as a close link to the French government?

It's no new knowledge that for an independence movement to be successful, it is imperative that those agitating create allies and not break bridges as its been done by the pro-Biafra proponents. One truth Biafrans have failed to themselves due to ego is that they need help of other countries rather than standing as an island of its own. But how then are you going to face these people when all you do is to insult black people and call them baboons and monkeys?
I'm sure that South Africa will be a willing tool because it's obvious that they are not happy about Nigeria being ahead of them economically, hence they will do what is possible to split the country so that they will regain their top spot as Africa's largest economy. But the truth is that no African country wants to risk being in the black book of Nigeria the giant of Africa because when we sneeze they catch cold. You have now confirmed that when Senegal whom were one of Biafra's ally in the civil war, expelled Biafrans for flying their flag in their stadium. What does that tells you about Nigeria's might? That Biafra is fighting a lost battle with Nigeria and you guys are foolish to think that you can win. I laugh in Swahili.

The wife of controversial Radio Biafra director Nnamdi Kanu has expressed concern over the prolonged detention of her husband, who she says "is a prisoner of conscience". Uchechi Okwu-Kanu told IBTimesUK she fears for her husband's well-being and alleged he is being tortured by the Nigerian state security service (DSS).
Okwu-Kanu said she had been able to speak with Kanu only once since he was arrested by the DSS as he travelled to Nigeria from London in October. She warned her husband's health is worsening as he is no longer able to take medicine for "his life-threatening ulcer".

Kanu is the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB). IPOB and other pro-Biafran groups call for the independence of territories that constituted the Biafran Republic, established in 1967 and reannexed to Nigeria in 1970, following a civil war that claimed between one and three million lives. The Radio Biafra director was apprehended on charges of criminal conspiracy, intimidation and belonging to an unlawful society. He pleaded not guilty.
Okwu-Kanu defended her husband's struggle for independence and argued pro-Biafrans have the right to self-determination. She also urged the Nigerian government to release her husband and engage in dialogue rather than arresting people "who agitate for freedom".
Kanu was due to appear in court on 1 December but his lawyer Vincent Obetta said the hearing had been postponed as the judge's father had died and could not attend. Obetta and Kanu's sister, Princess Chinwe Kanu, also expressed concern over what they described as Kanu's "deteriorating health" after seeing him in court on 23 November.
IBTimes UK has contacted the DSS for a statement on allegations of torture but has not received a comment at the time of publishing.

Government's position on pro-Biafran movement
The Nigerian government told IBTimesUK that it does not consider the separatist movement a threat to the current leadership and defined pro-Biafrans as an "insignificant number of frustrated people who are not a threat to the existence of Nigeria".
Army spokesman Colonel Sani Usman told IBTimesUK: "The message to the Biafrans is clear: The army and police might use the Rules of Engagementon security operations to the fullest depending on the circumstances."
Amnesty International said in an exclusive report by IBTimesUK there was "credible evidence that pro-Biafran separatists in Nigeria are targeted by police". However, the police denied these claims, arguing that pro-Biafrans hold violent rallies that disrupt peace.
Oleehkukyu Ali, a public relations officer for the police in Anambra state, told IBTimes UK the police have nothing against pro-Biafran groups as long as they behave in a peaceful way.
He said: "Our country provides freedom of association, speech and movement. But groups have to behave peacefully. Police in Anambra are operating a very open policy and leaders of groups should engage with us and let us know what they are doing so we are aware of protests."

You PDP goons are such sore losers and wailers, always looking for that slightest opportunity to celebrate Nigeria's woe because they're not in power. Little wonder the finance and support the Biafra agitation so that they can distract the president from performing his duties.

Igbo biafra agitators are delusional, their hero Kanu hides and the idiots goes to the street in protest. To me between someone like Rev. Mbaka and Kanu or Nwanzuruike, I will take Rev. Mbaka as a hero. This is where Yorubas outstand the Igbos, they don't celebrate someone who arose unrealistic agitation, but they celebrate people that gives realistic value, purpose and vision. Well if the igbos wants both the economic and development in their region to crumble giving to this useless agitation, then they have my support 100%, they should even take it to the next level, let the region become the next point with boko haram experience. When it happens we drive the Igbos in the south west back to their region.
This is the reason why Igbos hate us because we do not agree to unrealistic demands. They want to leave important issue bothering the South West and start singing 'Zoo must fall' 'Biafra or death' with them.

Rev Father Ejike Mbaka, the catholic priest from Enugu, has given one condition, on which he would support the ongoing pro-Biafra protests.

Mbaka said that he would support Biafra agitation and demonstrations, if chieftains behind them come out to lead the struggle.
The Sun reports that the cleric stated this speaking during the launch of new products, Rapha Groundnut oil, Rapha Soya Oil and Rapha Carbon¬ated Drinks, produced by his company, Aqua Rapha Investments Limited.
According to Mbaka, the ongoing protests may snowball into a huge crisis of the scale associated with Boko Haram if not curtailed now.
In his speech, the cleric warned Nigerians that pro-Biafra protests are capable of scaring away investors from the region.
“If this nation collapses, it is on us all. If things go well, it is for our own good. I want you to know that if there is any of you here that is oppressed, we are being oppressed too. What I am begging is that things should be done in the right way. Because, if we continue like this, all the visions the governors of Igboland have, vision for employment and economic diversification, will be frustrated.

“No investor can come into a city filled with crises. So, wherever you are, saying, ‘let them (the protesters) move on’, the only way I can support it is when you join them. So, please, I am begging all of us, let us join hands and develop our place, Igboland,”he said.
Also speaking during the event, Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi commended Mbaka for using his company to provide 4,500 jobs for the people of Enugu state.
Ugwuanyi atressed that the state government is interested in such business initiatives, which create jobs for the people and turn around the state’s economic fortunes.
A few days ago, during a sermon at his weekly Adoration Ministry, Mbaka strongly criticized Biafra supporters, defining them as ‘evil’.
The Man of God advised youths in the South East and South-South to go back to their business as the protest could lead to their death.
In a swift response, Uche Mefor, the deputy leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, fired back at the cleric, stressing that “Biafra is more than money!”
