Hello Everyone, please for God sake I need help and advice on how to go about my application. I'm new on this thread and my situation is complicated.

I got married 2015 but before d marriage my husband and I applied for student visa which mine was granted and he was denied, he allowed me to travel a week after our wedding because lectures have started. We then decided again that he should reapply again in 2016 for student visa but he was denied again.

So, I came back to Nigeria September 2016 after my one year PGD program to be with my husband because there was already so much pressure from families that how can my husband allow me to travel a week after the wedding without me being pregnant. But before coming in September 2016 have already extended my study permit with the hope that I will conceive and return back in January 2017 to start my second program. Everything did not go as planned, I'm yet to conceive till this very moment and my vise expire December 2017.

In January 2017 we both applied for US visa for vacatuon but we were both denied and since then have suffered depression mainly because I couldn't conceive and family pressure.

Now, PLEASE kindly advise me on what to do. I don't want this opportunity to fade away.
1. Should I go back to Canada to extend my study permit despite d fact I did not use the visa on it and it will expire December 2017, and apply for SOWP for my husband?

OR

2. Should I apply for post graduate work permit and SWOP for my husband now?

Pls help me with advise.

I don't think that option 2 still exists because one is supposed to apply for PGWP within 3 months of completion of your program. And they count the 3 Months from the date in which your sch dates your credentials. Because you send your transcripts along with the application for PGWP.

Now trying to link her app but saying No record. Please I need oooo. I can track my baby's own but can't track her own. What do I do please.

I had the same experience. I was never able to link my husband's application but my daughter's was successfully linked. After many trials and even mails to them, i left it that way knowing that anytime I get any response online for daughter, his own will also be updated.

She was given a biometric slip at vfs, full up the name boxes as written on the slip. You should be good.

Please i am trying to apply for an open work permit for my family, Please when adding the children what option should i choose for their reason for coming? Do i choosee "VISITING" or "STUDYING" for the children.

When I applied for my spouse and daughter, it was opw for spouse and study permit for daughter. Reason for coming was schooling. And they were approved.

The best hometie for business owners in my own opinion is their businesses because they can convince the VO so easily that the venture would definitely bring them back unlike our so called employers that would be so skeptical or even decline to give you a reference/introductory letter.

Yeah. My husband has his own small business. So he included his CAC registration papers and tax card. We also dratfed a sort of job description listing his duties as the CEO. We did that to take place of letter of introduction from office, kind of introducing himself as Ceo.
He also added his resume and school degree certificates.

nice one Markab. Well in my own opinion it not all the various spouses works in an organization. What if they have their own businesses here in Nigeria? I think that will also serve as home tie becos you are coming back for your businesses and for those who are concerned you will need to proof that there is some1 available to manage the business while you are away. Most organizations are not happy you are going and leaving them so sometimes it very hard to get an introduction letter from them stating your job is waiting for you. The best in situation like that is to show you had a job at that time and also including all documents that shows you work there over the years you claim you have worked. Another home tie is the spouse immediate families. Including documents to show relationship that you have your family and your spouse familiy too. Hope I make sense small?

He had about 4M thereabouts. But i dont think funds is even a big releant doc for this application. I believe this sowp is more about employability, more than the finances

Tried 2xs to bring my daughter for christmas on visitor visa but was refused ( I cried eh, chai cic)

Changed tactics to sowp.
Applied Feb 16th with upfront medical for hubby
Old medical report for daughter
Request for repeat medical July12th
Approval mail July 19th

Just to add to what other posters have stated..

Please also develop your Canadian bank account too.. if possible make it have like 6000 CAD before he submits..
Money in Canada does wonders.. (Talk to friends,family and classmates about this)

Bcuz that 300k in his account is just like approximately 1500 CAD which cant rent a good house with security deposit in Canada.. I am sure they considered other factors like.. his flight Money, living expenses for like 3 months, mobility and you are still a student with probably 20 hours of work a week etc

When I was applying my account had like 3.2million bcuz i have 2 kids.. printed my statement on Friday by Monday morning my account was back to 200k.. family and friends can help develop an account.. in and out of money helps.

For my daughter to redo her medical came in last week. Good step. Thank God.
We submitted an old one that she did last year while planning to travel with me. But now the sowp application for her and hubby is with cic.
They submitted 16th Feb. God will perfect what He has started.

Ive tried forever to link my hubby's paper application but no success. And i know im putting in the right information. But my daughter accompanying application was successfully linked. I even contacted cic after over 20 trials but they didnt help matters. My request was sent to cic lagos and they replied asking me why Im trying to link the application online. Imagine.

Yes nau. They dont collect originals of certificates (birth, marriage and school) because they cant guarantee they will be sent back to you. Do you want your originals to get lost in transit or in the midst of plenty docs at cic?

I was finally delayed today reason is that my spouse doesn't have employment in NOC a o c that's the only reason, but I just got my American visit visa on Monday so what should be the next line of action

Guys, does it mean that I must have an NOC AOB employment before i apply for my spouse?

Hi. Please which cic forms did you use excatly. Is it the normal work permit forms? Can you help write the form. I want to compare.

I still think you should take the Work Permit route. I applied for TRV 2ce for my wife (to avoid the long processing time for Work Permit) and twice she was denied . It was after this that I applied for Work Permit before she was now granted a visa. A process that should have taken a few months ended up taking over a year.

Apply for the Work Permit (paper application), I hear it's way faster.

Subsection 11(1) of the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act provides that a foreign national must, before entering Canada, apply to an officer for a visa or any other document required by the Regulations. The visa or document shall be issued if, following an examination, the officer is satisfied that the foreign national is not inadmissible and meets the requirements of this Act.

I have concerns that you have not fulfilled the requirement put upon you by section 16(1) of the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act, which states:

16(1) A person who makes an application must answer truthfully all questions put to them for the purpose of the examination and must produce a visa and all relevant evidence and documents that the officer reasonably requires.

On the current application form, you indicate that you have never been refused any kind of visa, admission, or been ordered to leave Canada or any other country. According to information in our records, you were refused a visa to the United States in 2014 and 2015.

Please note that if it is found that you have engaged in misrepresentation in submitting your application, you may be found to be inadmissible under section 40(1)(a) of the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act. Guys please be aware. US and Canada share immigration info. The systems speak to each other to a certain level. You may get away with hiding facts about UK immigration from CIC but with US and Canada? Hmm. Serious issue.

hello, I advise you apply for open work permit for your husband and NOT "visit visa". From little research I have done, visit visa is rarely granted to spouse of students. Mostly refused on purpose of visit while open work permit is almost certain though might take a long time to process especially if you go online route. Please consider open work permit even if your husband doesn't have intention to stay there.... AND do paper route

I wanted to do same because of the processing time for SOWP. Spouses usually get denied visit visa? What do tou guys think?

Setiously?? Because of the long processing time for SOWP, I also wanted to apply for visiting visa for hubby and daughter first of all and get to work permit later. So chances of success with visiting visa is low? Pls house members, are you guys of the same opinion?

I think its only visiting visa aplications that minors dont need medicals. Because when I submitted my study permit aplication with my daughter as accompanying, the online app requested medicals for her. She's 8.

2. Both your spouse and child applies for visiting....

3. You have initially joined your child in your study permit application as a minor dependant....

4. apply study permit for child (complicated!!)

* in 1 & 2 it is most advisable that you travel first and secure your study permit before applying.... as this will create a history of Canada travel itself (attaching copies of immigration stamps at PoE and study permit to your application)
Or else... How do you support a claim of you inviting someone into a place you haven't visited yourself ?? !!.. That's why I said it requires thinking..

* you have passed nos 3.stage, hence the options you have left is 1 & 2 now. Nos 4. is NOT advised!!

I had a similar secenrio in sept. I had to travel without my daughter but im reapplying for her to come now. I had to apply for her gcms file to know the reason for refusal not those generic ones stated on letter. Its quite confusing what CIC has on their website about accompanying minor.

As Justwise said, those reasons are generic. I also ordered for her gcms file to really know the reason
