That is the American/western narrative. China should help stop the war because they already sense defeat in Ukraine? China is not looking for a master slave relationship. Both China and Russia are against US hegemony and it’s the US that fears this tag team happening, hence the narrative that Russia will be a junior partner in it.

As for the war? Ukraine is destroyed. As for rebuilding, ask Iraqis how far theirs have gone. Russia is not yet running a war economy either because they did not order general mobilization of its men and industries, something Ukraine has totally expended.

Lastly, there is nothing like technically in NATO, (does NATO/Russia council also mean Russia is technically in NATO? NATO will never boldly intervene. This proxy is the best even if the war goes on forever. It was a defeat for NATO in Ukraine, to avoid total humiliation, they want china to broker peace so that it doesn’t look like it was initiated by them. Get used to it, NATO lost. And there will never be a conventional confrontation between Russia and NATO.

The next offensive by Ukraine will be its last. It has done 4 full mobilizations, expended all its legions and conscripted even disabled. After the next offensive which even the US estimates will not give it victory, we would have arrived at the last Ukrainian. Because even if you were to give them weapons, there will be no one to man them.

People seem to forget the fact that the risk is both ways. For example, two people pointing a gun at each other bears the same risk of being shot. So Finland joining Nato doesn't endanger Russiaś's security, it also endangers Finlandś's security. It's mirroring.

Secondly, it's not about the country joining nato, it's about the realistic scenario in the event of war. Finland joining nato poses not many security issues for Russia, because in the unlikely event of a war, where will Finland invade from?

Even though Finland shares over 1300km of land border with Russia, the area is mostly frozen arctic wasteland. Invasion can never come from there. It's almost impossible to stage an invasive force there.

It is also a reason why Russia didn't care when the three baltic states (Latvia, Estonia, Lithuania) joined nato even if they share a border with Russia. Simply because the terrain, geography, population, etc makes them useless in the bloc.

Apart from funding nato, buying US weapons, and political rallying, these baltic and Balkan countries in Nato are no threat at all. Check out the ´´suwalki gap´´. In the event of a war, Russia would blockade it, and the baltic states will just be cut off from the EU landmass, making them irrelevant.

But the case of Ukraine is very different. In fact, Ukraine is the jackpot and the biggest insult to Russia. Ukraine is heavily populated and has no natural barriers to Russia. For example, the past invasions from Napoleon France, to Hitler Germany all came through Ukraine.

If Ukraine is in Nato, then the stage is set for Russia to be invaded again, and this time may be defeated since your enemies have planned with past failures. This is the reality on the ground.

So Russia will take all the beating now, because if Ukraine joined Nato, then the consequence will be worse. Sanctions are temporary, but to be defeated and to seize existence as a country is permanent. For example, missiles shot from Ukraine will leave Russia no time to respond.

And judging US behavior of always stationing nuclear weapons in Nato countries, it's obvious if Ukraine joins Nato, it will host US nuclear weapons. And guess who will be the target, Russia of course.

One thing that is priceless is your autonomy, your sovereignty, and your independence. Pay any price to secure it, otherwise, you do not exist at all.

I think Ukraine is technically in NATO. Russia is technically a China domain. Russia is already running a war economy..NATO has not spent 5% of her budget in Ukraine. China is benefiting from the war more..A weakened Russia is good China as a partner. You cannot have 2 masters in a boat. If China doesn't take drastic steps to stop the war, the whole world would burn..Wars benefit no one.

There has been ethnoreligious war even before independence. It is getting worse due to boko haram and specific killing of Christians on allegations of blasphemy in the north. Deborah case for an example.
I don't see way forward for Nigeria. I don't want to deceive myself.

Though I dislike APC and did not vote for Tinubu, the best prayer I can pray for Nigeria now is long life for Asiwaju because the other option is more dangerous. I don't want to believe he is a place-holder for anybody.

No nation abuses their presidents and public office holders in the world like Nigerians do.

Recently, Tinubu confessed that he no longer read the social media because of the way Nigerians abuses him. What has he done to warrant those derogatory insults like a thief, druggie etc. What did he steal and which court convicted him of stealing?

Some of these folks who abuse Tinubu come from regions where they have no respect for their elders. Many of them have never seen Tinubu nor had any interaction with him yet, they hurl abuses on someone's husband and father. Can they allow their fathers to be insulted this way?

Some go to the extent of accusing of stealing a mandate that belongs to another political gladiator without prove.

Nobody is contesting to govern fct but to govern Nigeria.

President of Nigeria also doubles as governor of fct. 25% is reasonable though. Well, 25% fct rule should be reviewed. Also fct residents should be able to elect their governor but he is expected to be answerable to President.

President is the governor of fct in reality because an appointee of the President governs fct through him.
It is reasonable somebody that would govern fct by proxy should win 25% of total valid votes.

All system of governments are actually the same with respect to selection or election of leaders. In monarchy, there are kingmakers, high priest and the community. Kingmakers and high priest are from specific households in the community. They are noble. They decide who become kings. In democracy, head of electoral body is high priest while king makers are retuning officers in each state or LG. Returning officers are usually academicians in university community. Returning officers and head of electoral body are kingmakers.

Subsidy would be removed. Nothing would happen. Even dangote refinery wouldn't bring down the price. Gas and oil are international commodities with international pricing modelling. Government would remove it and fool citizens with some palliatives and people would move on.
