To anyone with current info: how much do you think it will cost to replace the tranny of this car under review - to save myself the trouble of recurrent repairs? What's the present selling price of this component in the auto parts market? Thank y'all.
AutosRe: Auto Diagnostic by SeyiJay(m): 4:41pm On Jun 04, 2010
Siena, thx ever so much for your input here. Av really been looking forward to your contribution in this matter. The lub was changed a couple of months ago but i notice some kind of wetness around the tranny casing. I'm yet to ascertain the source.
@Salesauto, appreciate your response. Will give you a call as soon as i'm around to do a thorough check up on the car. Keep it up!
@Siena, av not been seeing a lot of your contributions lately - particularly on German rides which I kind of fancy myself. Really planning to lay my hands on one of these Audis pretty soon, the A4 being my favrit tho'. Let me also request for your email addy here. Need your candid advice on career in the auto industry. Would really appreciate your positive response.
Cheers!

I actually use Mobil ATF 220 transmission fluid as the lubricant. Of late, the thing has worsened: when trying to slow down, it grips the engine and have to shift gear to neutral to prevent the engine from being stopped. Then I engage drive and it accelerates normally. What do I need to quickly fix in the transmission system before it finally beaks down? Thx once again.

AutosRe: Auto Diagnostic by SeyiJay(m): 3:49pm On May 30, 2010
Salesauto, thx for your response! On startup, my tachometre [engine speed gauge] reads somewhere between 900 & 1200 rpm - tho i'm planning to get my carburettor specialist adjust and regulate this anomaly. But on the average, it stabilizes @ about 1000 on idle.
Is it true that it's always advisable to replace faulty parts on honda cars when they begin to misbehave, especially the transmission - if it's auto - rather than attempt to repair?
AutosRe: Auto Diagnostic by SeyiJay(m): 6:43pm On May 19, 2010
@ Poster
I need your candid advice on this big challenge: I cruise a '90 civic 1.6 GL with auto trasmission ( I guess this oldie may not be scannable?) It accelerates fairly well, but during decceleration, it does not down shift normally and the transmission tends to 'grip' the engine almost to a stalling point- barely releasing it at about 300 rpm. What is the cause, and what EXACTLY do i need to repair/replace so i can advise my mechanic? Thx!

AutosRe: plane freaks by SeyiJay(m): 3:46pm On Mar 20, 2008
R_o_b_b_y, i feel u. Glad to hav a "plane freak" on board. Ignore those saying this is an 'autos' thread. Anything that has wheels and can outrun your legs should qualify here. Used to be xtremly fascinated by planes esp. the 747s. Imagine a massive metal of some 300 tons lifting at crazy speeds of up to 1200km/h [ave.] at an alt. of 35,000ft. Real cool.! I'm always dazed when i happen to witness some goog landing with that beautiul landing 'screech' on the runway. can't enjoy any film without a good deal of aerobatic display.
Have you happened to watch fighters like the F18 Tomcat or similar landing on an aircraft carrier esp. on a wide screen? with all the attendant sound efx, u get the bumps all over ya, Fill me.

Siena, can hold my comments no longer! I'm stunned by your presentation and final result. Absolutely thrilling! Excellent result. You make me renew my interest in AUDI autos, tho' still have some reservations - as it applies to naija: running cost, spares, . . . I'm more thrilled by what's loaded in any auto's interior - the sound system. So, i'm waiting to feel da bass.
More oil to,
TV/MoviesRe: Voltron Defender Of The Universe by SeyiJay(m): 4:03pm On Jan 29, 2008
[TEARDROPS!] Meeennnn, u guys jus' rush in da good ol' days, can't help but join in on this. Just finishin' my secondary level then, uhmm! those sweet words initiating the transformation process,
                                        "Activate interlocks.
                                         Dyno-therms connected.
                                         Infracells up,
                                         Mega-thrusters on,
                                         Go . . .
And then u are thrilled to the marrow [my fav. part] to see each of the lions coming out from underwater, undertree, underrock, and some other bases. I saw VOLTRON recently, last month or so, from one of those channels - NTA, i think, and i was glued. Those days, my brother and I were always fighting for space. God help anybody to disturb us. NEPA, it was serious prayer for their cooperation.
Then another gr8 fav. was FRAGGLE ROCK and TERRA HAWKS. Boy! I loved these arresters. They made my days. Like others have expressed earlier, today's generation, i feel sorry for them - having to put up with, damn!, Teletubbies! [rubbish]. Cant agree more with the guy that said today's kids would become dummies with such stupid progs. Thankfully, another nice favorite - TOM AND JERRY [DVD] - makes a gr8 companion for me and my daughter.
My fav. xters on FRAGGLE ROCK: RED, MOKEY, GLOBO [and his ever traveling Uncle].
Then, TERRA HAWKS. I remember one of round [ball] fighters no. 55 who always expressed himself in some french accent [and getting into trouble with it]. Love those sci-fi presentations. Can someone pls give me a current link to them? Then Good old Sesame Street. A prog. i watched for over 20 yrs, damn! how time flew, those were TV  progs. back in the days.

Music/RadioRe: Eben's Cd. by SeyiJay(m): 4:44pm On Nov 28, 2007
I'm so glad to see that an artiste like Eben can come up mentioned on this medium. And, i've been looking for this guy's cd since the time he came to perform [twice] in my church - Winner's Chapel, Ikorodu. He did a few tracks from his album "On the Rock", including hits like "Iwo Nikan" and "I don Hammer". The guy escaped before i could ask him about getting his works. I tell you - they are awesome output.
Still seriously searching, so if anyone comes up with getting his CD, pls let's know.

I feel compelled to join in this very interestin' thread. Aside the fact that i find it useful for my upcoming home project, i like to say this particularly to Oxytech: ur advice is ABSOLUTELY K-R-A-Z-Y! I mean, i laffed my head off while reading it. I like ur 'krazy sense of humor.' Do keep it up, my man!
AutosRe: Used Cars Wanted by SeyiJay(m): 1:19pm On Jun 15, 2007
Very funny, man! U kind of give me a cause for some worry here. I respect ur views but, why rate da Mit. at #3? kindly give more tech. details [objectively]. Again, i like good interior / dashboard illumination, but the toyota disappoints me a bit. The Nissan passes for me more in this regard, but i just have this soft spot for the Montero.  I still like it, sha. Feel me in some more . . . which is more expensive: the pathfy or the montero [total overview, that is?  Thx.
AutosRe: Used Cars Wanted by SeyiJay(m): 12:32pm On Jun 15, 2007
Promise, thx a heap! U r a gem. Ur answer was most insightful. I see a lot of the trims like the ES and LIMITED versions in naija a lot, and it thrills me when i see them. I'm hoping to have any of the 'top-of-the-range' for myself - full options but not with leather [i don't really fancy that] - within the next 1 year. So, in your opinion, what figure should i be looking at to draw from my pocket for a piece of machine like this? And how about maitenance, spare parts availability, reliability . . .? Thx for yours
