[quote author=poshemmanuel post=113778732]I doubt you can apply for direct entry with your college of nursing certificate. The requirements for direct entry admission eligibility are a national diploma or university degree. That is, a national diploma (ND) from a polytechnic or a diploma from a university or a university degree. Direct entry admission eligibility for public university and private university are all the same.[/quote
@POSHEMMANUEL Brother, what about ND/HND from the college of nursing as well who studied nursing science ? |

DrImmaculate: I 100% second this. @SF123, as long as it's not a B.Sc Nursing degree, do not go for it. You just might end up wasting your parents' money on what you have no penchant for. Do as Rursh said. Sometimes being patient pays off in the later end. If you start preparing for next year's utme now, you have more than ample time to correct your previous mistakes. If you feel you can't study on your own, look out for a good jamb tutorial centre. Never underestimate the power of attending a good tutorial centre with proof of annual turnout of excellent jamb results. You could also learn a skill as he suggested. i am extremely grateful to you brother. |
Education › Re: The medical students and aspirants thread by SF123(m): 9:15pm On Jun 13, 2022 |
Rursh: .
2 THINGS are involved. Either to accept the admission or you decline it. From your posts that I have read so far, you have no penchant for Nursing and in view of that earlier been said, I would rather advise you decline the offer. With your UTME score, shoot your shot well for post UTME (Plan A). Plan very well to attend a good jamb tutorial centre for 2023 UTME (Plan B) or undergo your university of choice remedial/pre-degree/basic program (which offers you dual chances of admission) and possibly learn some skills/entrepreneur(if it would be convenient) while you study and wait if possible. I really commend you brother. |

@ RUGGEDFIGHTER....i really appreciate you brother. But the issue is the nursing science is offered by a college of nursing in abia state which at the end of the programme you will be issued ND/HND, RN (registered nurse) but my sist( already a midwife) said i should decline the admission bc of their certificate and it is an archaic method of training a nurse which is managed and runs by a hospital. Should i accept and still stay in that college of nursing to prepare, read and rewrite jamb or decline the admission to allow me prepare adequately? |
Education › Re: The medical students and aspirants thread by SF123(m): 10:44pm On Jun 10, 2022 |
Clinton39: To me, this is why you should not accept the offer, it is dangerous doing what you have no passion for. And also inferiority complex will do you no good. May God guide and direct your choice and ambitions. Thank you so much brother. Amen and same goes applicable to you too. |

Leonardoshawn3: well, i understand your pursuit for medicine.
But the questions i would like to ask you is
* Would you like to stay at home for another year?
* If you eventually do not get admitted into medicine in the future, can you live with the self-toture and depression?
.
Don't lose this nursing admission you've been given. Although you won't be where you want to be, but at least you won't be where you used to be. Thanks so much brother, i really appreciate. I will put it into consideration. Though my eldest sister is already a midwife and a nurse too. How can i go about that? |

Leonardoshawn3: You are lucky to have begin given admission into nursing. Nursing is also a very nice profession. Many people would pay a lot of money to have what you just got.
Accept the admission, if you still interested in a career in medicine in the future , you can sit for the utme exam again next year( i don't see any need for that anyway). Please don't sit at home for another year. It can be depressing. And if you eventually do not get admission into the medicine program, you'll hate yourself later for rejecting the nursing admission. Brother i knew my self that i must get mbbs but the issue is that school is not a university; it runs like that of college of health sciences obosi in Anambra state. *the only cons attached to it is that i don`t want to start feeling inferior if my fellow man is called a doctor in the hospital and i fit quit the job if the guy start to embarrase me bc he`s a doctor. |

Greetings medic and fellow medic aspirant. I received a message on wednesday to accept an admission offer into a college of nursing and health sciences obohia in Abia state to study nursing. Lo and behold i called the number displayed on the text to know how my details was gotten, a male voice answered and told me that the admission offer is genuine that i should log into the school portal to print my admission letter. At first i felt happy but within 2 minutes of the feelings i felt unhappy again because it was not medicine and surgery. *My question remains should i decline this admission offer into college of nursing obohia in Abia state or to continue to prepare my next year jamb of which i am gunning for medicine and surgery?
Even if i am interested to accept the offer. My love for medicine and surgery can never be overemphasized and it hold no bounds and limit as well. Is it possible to use the nursing certificate and qualifications of the school to apply direct entry into medicine and surgery ? |

Clinton39: Hello bro, I had only written once before(scored 228 last year). Yeah, I used the syllabus(not sure I finished it though). As for texts, I used the LAMLAD series, and also new school physics and chemistry. And also modern biology.(Note I did'nt buy any of these books, strictly soft copies, so you don't need to break the bank). As for past questions, yea I finished from 2000-date.(really helped). God bless you Wow, thank you so much brother...well i have done all these things including exhausting the jamb syllabus, i even combine two textbooks but my scores isn`t high enough BUT the only different is that i didn`t finish the past question. |

Eben331: Why not? It is possible to combine school workloads and JAMB preparation together. I did it and it worked for me. It only boils down to how serious you are with it. If you know you have a goal you are pursuing, nothing should deter you from it. Alright boss...i am grateful. |

spiritualmubi: Hmm bro I will advice you just prepare for another Jamb if medicine is what you really want, if you go to school now, hmm reading again for another Jamb plus school wahala may affect your health, I'm speaking from experience, I suffered mental decline when I did that and just wished I never accepted the admission when I was given at the first place. So to me you can just use this year at home and do what you didn't do last time to excel more in jamb, tho radiography is a good course, but since you said you don't have interest in it, then go for medicine. Thanks so much brother, i really appreciate you. |

SF123: Good morning all. The worst is about to happen. My people are hell bent, they wanted me to change course either to radiography or physiology and enter school (but will attempt jamb again while in school) still i am finding it complex to do that because i never had interest in those courses. The only option left for me is to prepare for the next year jamb or heed their advice.

Homosapiens20x: With your score, you will get admitted to some private universities or states but their fees are exorbitant. I will advise you to enter with this score and prepare for the jamb next year. You can even start now as you await admission. Staying at home is a no no Bro i have no issues in staying at home. It will do me more good than harm than going for a course i never had interest in studying. But during this periods i will now be going to the library again to study voraciously but this time around i will be more glued to my books and amend the silly mistakes i made this year |
