These pictures are smashing. Clear sky, I love it to bits. It could have helped if the names of the location were actually mentioned with the pictures, so someone who wants to visit can have target locations. |
Gbawe:As much as I'd like to agree with your point here, this government has proven itself times and again how ineffectual and sloppy it can be in implementing the most basic policy not to talk of something that touches our livelihood as this. They are going to bungle this like many policies of the past and Nigerians will be left to reel in an unprecendented pain, lets watch. A government that cannot hit the backside of a cow with a banjo, what a waste. |
kafanchan:@kafanchan When you write in all caps, it means you are shouting. And when you put tenses like you did it is pretty difficult to follow. If you have an argument to present please do so and lets people contribute. This is an open space where the aim is not for everyone to agree to your opinion because its not practical, but instead for us all have a richer knowledge about the subject matter and learn more. So people have disagreed with you in the past, and people will still do. If you have facts, and sources that you can expose, go on and do so. |
na_so:If this was true, then this na_so:definitely is a sound argument. and therefore this na_so:has a merit that deserve the backing of everyone that preach justice. I am with you on it. However, as I alluded to in my response to hbrednic comments on the same post, I believe these banks actually made the rod for their own back, and Sanusi could never have tried a stunt of this scale without some untoward conduct from the affeted banks. Other banks with bad loans (but not on the list), FirstBank inclusive will definitely have a plausible way of explaining their way out of the 'cess', while the badly affected banks will not have such luxury because they are much deeper in it. That is the golden excuse that gives Sanusi an edge in this. |
hbrednic:Sorry, I edited my post after, but it still in line with what we are talking about, I wish our country and economy well too. |
hbrednic:Ok. I am with you on this, with a caveat. And that is, there are stunts he could never try to pull irrespective of his power, therefore, most of these cases are never going to be an 'open and close' ones. My summary is that, there are substantial circumstantial evidence that these banks are having issues - and they are they ones most hit by bad loans. |
hbrednic:But the fact that all the distressed bank are perpetual and net borrower from the EDW was never contested by the banks is a good premise to build on. Or, if there were fact that proved this not to be true and as well proved that the so-called not-distressed bank were also net borrower in the EDW. As I said too in my post, Sanusi may wield power, but there are people in there that would have pulled the rug from under his feet if it was a real case of 'pot calling kettle black'. I agree with you if SLS's report is made public, it would have been great, but I doubt this will happen . |
I think the crux of the matter is that all banks have bad loans. But the ratio of the bad loans to capital base and total loan portfolio is what is unbelievably high in the distressed bank that almost tilted them over the edge and turned the to perpetual borrowers in the EDW and hence the CBN intervention. Now, 1billion bad loan might be enough to cause company A to be distressed and it might take 10billion to get company B in the same situation. There is no one with magic wand that can be used to ensure no loan granted by his bank will not go bad. There are conditions out there that can throw all logic and analysis to the gutters. If conditions for granting these loans in FirstBank were found out not to have followed the best practices (which might not), and their position is as bad as any of the mentioned distressed bank, trust me there are insiders who are loyal to some of the shamed guys that would have blown the whistle. The good thing we need to take from all that is happening is that bank can at least present to us something closer to their true state henceforth unlike the gimmicks and the more you look the less you see situation of the past. |
People have gradually turned this to PHP issue. I think we need to answer the original poster's question. And that will require some knowledge of what sofware solution(s) have a BRIGHTER PROSPECT in Nigeria, and then what tool is the best to learn to put him in a state where he can compete for job opportunit(ies) that may come from such. He has scoped the question that way I believe. PHP is best at what it does best. Simple. |
aisha2 Please don't lose your mind. Many people here have said the correct thing and gave the correct advice, you can only give your best. As for biglegend or whatever, he is one seriously aggrieved individual to the point of disorientation who dwells in the past and never see any hope in the future and how he can help to shape it. He is not the only one in this category, things are that bad. Granted situation is bad, past leaders contributed, but our future will be decided by us all. My biggest concern for us is that enough of us (in numbers, cutting across all fields of endeavours), are actually looking the other way while our country rots away. There is power in number, we are not putting it into use. How we can use this for positive effect in the country is something I have been pondering on for some time. The fight to save the nation has been left in the hands of very few people (we just lost one of the recently), we all need to participate in issues that affect our present state and can shape our future. |
@poster To start with ade2kay, hayo and Cyberg have given very instructive comments. They have said it all. My little addition is the last statement of hayo ("if you run from this, you will keep running"). The people who employed simply didn't employ you on recommendation, they most probably know you do not have hands on knowledge of these tools, but they are banking on your analytical power and hoping you will get good in time. It is not knowing language syntax that produce good codes, it is the mind that drives the writing of such codes. Since it is a permanent position, 2 months is way too early to judge youself so harshly. In between, you must have passion for the job - that and your innate skill, I believe wiill pull you through. Seek knowledge (google, yahoo, programming forums), you will be surprised few months from now how much you have improved. What language do you use, what platform, what is the nature of the problem you are solving, if you answer these questions some people might be able to offer direct help that could jump start you. If we are talking about .NET (C#. VB, ASP.NET, WCF, and Web services) Sql Server, and Oracle, I might be able to help. I like people who dare. Please don't quit. No risk no reward, no guts no glory. Peace. |
Half time 0-0, Not so bad consideringthe Tunisian are playing at home and seem more dangerous in the first half that us. I think our team is missing some quality, sleek and creative players in key areas. They are trying to make up for that by their fighting spirit and application. I realy think to get the Super Eagles of old, we need a sprinkle of quality, sleek and creative players around the team. We might still nick it. I think we will. |
I get these mails frequently, I just delete them and forget them because I think they are phishing mails like Davidylan said. |
sistawoman:@sistawoman, I thought about that question too. @poster, Proper understanding of relationships is what you need to get through this. It is all well and good if we can always give 100% time and attention to each other, but it hardly works that way in life. Knowing when to be patient, when to endure and when to complain is very vital to the success of relationship. We all too often view and define love in isolation to other ingredients that nurtures and strengthen love. Contrary to your proposed solution, men need a loving and encouraging companion when they are stressed, so he needs you more now than when it was/going to be rosy. So if by any means you devised, you pushed him into dumping you in this situation, you will most probably lose him permanently because when he survive the stress and the thought of you running away when the next wave of life stress come around will deter him from having you back. Love will not be enough, because it was not enough for you to stay with him when he needed you most. |
I have a bottle of red wine here with me, haven't tasted it since start of second half. Barca's game is sweeter than the wine. Oh my, |
Love is an issue of emotion, an issue of feeling, an issue of heart because we are made that way. It is not overly intertwined with intelligence. If anyone can claim he/she fell in love because he/she is intelligent, let him/her come out and say so. Then we might be able to find someone who has mistaken something else for love. |
I like this thread. The issue is debated in an healthy and educating manner with appropriate dose of fun and a bit of lewd comments here and there. We can't rule that out, can we? There have been key points raised on both sides of the arguments. As Wumiabo said, it is to alarm people out there, that living abroad is not an automatic route to success. It is another route altogether and the destination very well depend not only on the driver but also the traffic rule, the car conditon and the road condition Key point to beware of: 1. Please don't come in wrongly. It is always difficult to get back on the right route if one comes in wrongly. It is the bane of most peoples problem here. 2. If you do make mistake in the above point, then roll up your sleeve and be prepared for a really rough ride. 3. Assess your situation, very well, who you are and your goal. Some people even though born and raise up in Nigeria (or Africa) are naturally orientated to living in the western way, how this happens I don't know. Some people like me are not. So what is ok for a might just be killing for b. All these I mentioned are just addendum, a lot had already been said here, if anyone want to be alarmed about what is happening here and want ot make an informed decision, this thread is a great one. I have to say thank you so much to everyone who contributed to this. It is really refreshing. |
aktopgun: richieade:Me I for strip that "gun" part from his name if I have my way. I offered to buy it off him, he no gree reply. ![]() |

pumping777:I know that is the minimum, but I read several people experience here about their broker that's why I made that comment, to start with. I understand 'beyond the call of duty' You no how e be now. I have been a beneficiary of such myself. Not AIICO sha. You friend don hammer for real ![]() |
nkc:I mean, if I have a brute broker, it doesn't matter if my portfolio performs (and that will bedown to me because I don't take broker's advise, and since he is what he is), he will only get paid for his job. If he behaves funny, his boss will sort both of us out. My broker, I call him anytime, or at odd time I send text. He respond and we relate quite well. Orders get executed promptly and other associated papereork here and there are sorted out with minimal effort. thats what I am talking about. |
Treating the broker well, I second that. The amount will vary sha. Depending on the performance (not just portfolio appreciation). |
4wheel:This is why with CICO, SIRO and every other ones, I make sure the stock can pass a basic fundamental test. In that way, if yawa gas, I can still leave it and be at peace. My first aim, is long term. But opportunity in between, I grab. |
loma:Ioma, I always enjoy your post o. Keep it up man. Sneak In - When no one notice, otherwise your mission can be compromised. Rush Out - You can be noticed, it doesn't matter, because you already grabdaloot, just hold it tight and run for your life. ![]() |
