adepojuot: they won't reply you with this your grammar...your name naaaa oyo.Looks like u want to make make fun, but its a serious issue. I am not sure ur name is mamacita, isn't it. Anyway....its a serious issue and I need help. |
Mamacita007: They won't refund ur money to anyone but you. have u contacted the accounting dept by phone or the school is completely shut down? sorry@ Mamacita007. Ofcourse they will, if I issue an authorization letter to the person in Austria. Yes they are completely shut their doors and don't even reply to emails or calls.....A sharp contrasting attitude.. when they were collecting my the money from me!!! |
dustydee: When did you make the deposit? the university went into bankruptcy in 2011 so if you paid them after 2011 then you only have youeself to blame for not knowing enough about the school you wanted to attend.@dustydee. Your story is not complete, and besides, no one will pay money to and institution already defunct. U failed to precise that IU became Megatrend University of Vienna, thus all student deposits were maintained (Internal school issues u might not know). I paid this money before i could get acceptance letter as per their policy...meaning they were very alive and operational. I only realised Megatrend went bankrupt again 7 months ago... (notification from Austrian Embassy in Abuja). My problem is to get to know someone in Austria who can help me get my refund for a fee. Austrians are very funny people....now like this no body in that school even border to reply me for almost 7 months now.....no information, no details....thats what I am talking about here. |
Hello Guys! I was stunned to hear MEGATREND UNIVERSITY VIENNA went bankrupt where as I had paid tuition deposit and accommodation deposit of 2000 Euros, and 575 Euros respectively. Please, i need assistance to recover this money. Help guys. Thanks |
deolub: and please how much are we talking about here...please I want to know deolub: and please how much are we talking about here...please I want to knowPlease, i suggest u ask the Embassy for that. U know how much ur supposed to pay for tuition for a year, accomodation and miscellaneous expenses. Ur were supposed to have obtained a document relating to ur visa requirements. The standard sum is about 800Euros per month. Calculate for 1 year and add a mark up of about 20%, u got ur amount for bank statement. I am sharing with u what i did, but i advice u to confirm with the Embassy of Austria in Abuja or visit their website. They are more credible than me. Good luck. |
fred1526: i have and they said i can bring a nigerian bank statement of account, but a friend told me they will reject it and will not grant me the resdent permit and visa, thats why am confused. I need more clearification on thisThe question u ask is very recurrent. Get ur sponsor to issue u "AN AFFIDAVIT of Support" signed from court or Notarized along side with a bank statement, even if the bank statement comes from Nigeria. They will check it cuz they will send a lawyer to verify the authenticity of all that.Don't go with a bank statement without an affidavit issued by ur sponsor. I m just telling u what i went through and didn't have problems, though the visa is still pending. Goodluck |
ngoice:Please, don't get me wrong, Austria maybe a good place, i haven't been there. What i meant was that the "Visa procedure is complicated and toooooooooo loooooooooooooooooooong. Its only when ur ignorant then u can easily fall to the trap. If ur very impatient, don't even start it. Good luck to u. |
ngoice:To the best of my knowledge, there's no Austrian Embassy in Cameroon, so u will have to go to Nigeria, precisely, Abuja and apply for student permit if ur in Cameroon now. if not, i m sure u can still apply from India if and only if ur legally settled there. for other informations, u can read posts related to Austrian visa and get more infos. For any worries, just go on an ack ur question here. I must be noted that "Austrian Visa" is like buying a ticket to "hell". Make God Almighty ur guidance ![]() |
king demej:Ur welcome. Again, just like nnamod explained to you, i m 100% correct with him. Mine is since October 30th that all my documents arrive Austria as confirmed by them and i haven't gotten any news as well. Since then, no news and its very stressful. Delay strategy is what they like so we just have to slow down and leave it to God. He will do it. Cheers |
king demej:I know ur not talking to me, but i feel like chipping this in, The Visa processing period is 3-6 months , not the 4-6 weeks as they told you. I want u to caution ur mind on this else you might get crazy. I have waited for mind until i feel i will start picking stones in Abuja. Now, i have caution my mind and waiting for a miracle. Please, not even Asewaju will do a thing, all u need to do is expecting ur visa sometime Early April if ur very lucky. Don't take it hard, thats how it is with the Austian Guys. If the visa were processed in their respective Embassies, 4-6 weeks is ok, but unfortunately its done in Austria. Cheers. |
obsiuk:Honestly, i m confused. U will not get visa on this forum. U ask for Austrian study visa requirements, i gave u the most updated yet ur still confused. I can't do more than contributing extensively like others in this forum. I dont know what u want, maybe if u drop ur problems in a most consistent manner, i might, or others maybe of help. Its a forum. |
obsiuk:Please, to be honest with you, call the embassy in abuja if u have ur acceptance letter already and start ur visa processing immediately. Its proper to get ur information first hand. |

Read my post on bank account account and make sure if ur to deposit, do a court declaration it will be viable. Besides, u didnt see any condition on the various list of conditions talking about a "personal bank account" as others have been saying. The only difficulty with is people is that they can make u wait!!! Again, to legalise ur waec with Austrian embassy, u will be charge 4500Niara or 30Euros. Good luck and happy new year |

U have all u need below: Legalisation Austrian Embassy Abuja*) Legalisations can only be made after verification of the documents by a lawyer authorized by the Embassy. The owner of the documents has to come in person to the Embassy. If that person is in Austria, a person (e.g. a relative) with an authorisation letter may represent him at the Embassy. Therefore an appointment as to be made under the Nigerian phone number: ++234-(0)803 4338778 (only open from Mo – Thurs, 9.00 – 10.00 h). In case of an intended future application (visa, residence permit, etc.), it is recommended to supply also all the necessary documents for that purpose (see www.help.gv.at) and to have them checked all together, in order to save your expenses for future procedures. For the identity-checking it is of particular importance to provide school documents, baptism- and hospital-birth documents. The questionnaire, which is hereby attached, has to be filled in completely and correct and has to be submitted in Original (originally signed). All relevant documents have to be submitted in original and copy. A non refundable verification fee for the services of the lawyer authorized by the Embassy is charged to all applicants and has to be paid directly and in cash at the Embassy: For Nigeria: 120.000 Naira (1st person) and 40.000 Naira for any additional family member For Cameroun, Benin, Togo, Ghana, Gabun: 180.000 Naira (1st person) and 70.000 Naira for any additional family member For Congo 250.000 Naira (1st person) and 70.000 Naira for any additional family member For other countries the lawyer fee will be notified after consulting the lawyer. After positive checking the respective person will be contacted for the payment of the legalisation fees (30 € per legalisation at the respective exchange-rate in local currency). The procedure of verification can take several months. To facilitate a quick processing, a completely and correctly filled questionnaire and submission of all relevant documents is absolutely necessary. Wrong statements or documents will result in considerable delay of the process. Abuja, October 2009 |
@ Xtus. Call the embassy. As simple as that!!! |
obsiuk:hope its not a trick qsn cuz i did mentioned here i m waiting for my own visa in n9ja and tht position hasnt change. |
obsiuk:To be candit, the process period is stable except for Europeans or Others. For Africans, no change no matter what. Its a question of ur status, not where u are presently. |
obsiuk:If u can be more specific with ur questions, maybe if i dont have info, some one here might be able to help. |
Please, i dont know how it works with ur transfer issue. If i know, i would be glad to let u know immediately. Will suggest u be precise what u wanna know maybe i can say something. |
@ Obsiuk. i did understood ur question from the beginning. Unfortunately, the Austrian Embassy in Abuja don't issue student visas but act as an intermediary for the Austrian immigration Office and U. That's how it works, so the entire process is 3-6 months for everybody applying for study visa, no exception |
@Obsiuk to correctly answer ur question, i refer u to this page: http://www.migration.gv.at/en/types-of-immigration.html While on the page, chose Student Visa for international students. 3-6 months they say. cheers |
@callygood. Concerning Austrain schools and Asutrian student visas, please all what u said is true but don't give the impression to people it is very mystical. When u talk of 1 yr insurance prior to visa approval, i kind of doubt that because u will obviously get a 1 once u arrive there, so its optional, and u can get it for say, few weeks or 3 months in advance, Concerning the 9000Euro, that's why i decided to share my humble experience here so that people should do things right and don't be scared. When u go for visa application at Asutrian embassy with someone's bank statement and you have no legal authority to prove that he has formally authorised u to use the bank statement what do u expect ![]() Please, where its ur sister, father, mother etc etc, if ur to use somebody's bank statement for visa application, make sure to obtain an Oath from the supreme court during which the person swears that he or she will take care of everything. When u do that they will not be talking of "personal account" crap again, so what out!!!! Please, those who are looking forward for studies in Austria, please good luck and hope i m cleared u all. I have been there, but still waiting for visa as well, but never ask of any personal account crap, Good luck |
@ niassawa I have no idea concerning what u just said about admission. For admission procedure, visa this page: http://www.megatrendvienna.at/440_EN-Megatrend-University-Admissions.61686E96a0d3dbec624f1355303c4041d501b070 I m still waiting for the decision from MA35 vienna. kind regards |
@ Shoccs, Since the lawyer was there 2 weeks ago, then just give them early January to finish with ur legalisation documents, Latest, mid January, u should be contacted to come pay ur legalisation fees. After that, its 3 months to process ur visa in Vienna, in principle, but i m not sure in practice cuz i havent had mine yet. I am very sure, for march intake u will make it if u have no suspense with the embassy in terms of requirements by January 2012 ending. Good luck Cheers |
@ Obsiuk Webster is also good. U can go ahead if ur already with it. cheers |
@ Osbiuk, U can try Megatrend University Vienna (university i m to study) of University of Vienna. They offer excellent MBA program. The first is private uinversity where as the second is Government sponsored. ] Megatrend University cost 715Euro per month where as the other one is about 380 Euros per semester. The differnce can be justified because the Megatrend is private where as the latter is public or government sponsored. Also, the recent infor i have now is that Austrian parliament recently voted a law easing work permits for foreigners who studied at Government Uiniversities, so the competition is well open making it difficult to obtain student visa with a Government university on first application. What i mean, get an admission with Megatrend now, after ur there, change to Goverment University and enjoy the advantages that will be when u graduate. I am waiting on my visa to study come January 9th 2012. Cheers |
so no body to reply me ahbi? na waoooo, |
