Prologue

We all lived in harmony. It was the end of famine and hate, an age of discovery. Until one day.

Everything changed when the Entity took over as president. We thought it would end after four years. It showed it's worst when we voted it out. Heroic generals tried to attempt coups but they disappeared before anything happened.

Workers became slaves, working day and night without pay. Those who spoke out found themselves languishing in the darkest of dungeons.

The outside world refused to help us with the fear that the Entity would spread it's rule to them. That was when we took matters into our own hands. We became the last stand. We became the Resistance - Lady Selena

Anya was slowly losing it, her long black hair bounced as she struggled on the bed turning her head from side to side. She tried to push hard and release the pain welling inside her but only a weak moan escaped her lips as her maternity gown covered chest heaved up and down with sweat all over her face. David, her husband held her hand softly, serving as the string on which she held on to for life. His young face was now long with worry, even the grey dreadlocks on his head stood. David looked at a nearby screen processing ultrasound as he comforted her. Her womb was undergoing a lot of stress as the baby tried to push it's way out. Anya wasn't going to make it.

"I want to sleep, take care of our baby" said Anya as her lovely eyes began to close.

"I love you, for the sake of us, push on" Anya on hearing David clenched her teeth and muscled up with the last of her might.

David took the baby as soon as it was out. The baby cried, wriggling it's legs. Tears of joy formed on David's face as he looked at it. He had a son.

He heard two beeps from the pager on his wrist. He knew the resistance was calling. He remembered the suffering he went through when his father was killed just because he challenged the Entity. Since then, he had not looked back on his mission to bring down the tyrant. He wasn't going to let his son suffer that fate. The Resistance often used one beep for their gatherings. But two beeps meant it must be important. He handed over the baby to some attendants and left the ward. The metallic doors of an elevator chimed open and he walked in. He tapped a series of secret combinations on the dial. The doors closed. He found himself falling in space and within seconds he was inside an impervious bunker some hundred feet below sea level.

The oil lamps inside the place suddenly came alive, revealing the dim lit faces of over a dozen persons. In the middle was a bronze table with Bini carvings crafted into it. A woman wearing a pristine gown stood up to address him.

"Welcome, Brother David"

Detective Obaro watched in horror as a bus filled with school children suddenly exploded in the middle of the road before somersaulting into a stream. I could see tears roll down his face when the water went red with blood.

A plan had to be concocted to defeat them.

"How do you bring down an invincible opponent?" said Agent Williams.

Before anyone could speak, he answered his own question.

"Use a Trojan Horse"

That's how I became a shadow for the black ops. I wanted to be a hero now I'm a criminal. I'm in a dark room inside a navy ship on the lagoon. The guard doesn't know I'm here. I creep, towering above him before twisting his neck, then I move on- I'm a man on a mission.

I met a lady undercover and fell in love with her, she says her name is Audrey.

"I would have loved been a journalist, you know, instead of this" said Audrey.

Over the days Detective Obaro became sorrowful of his deeds.

"I have failed this country" said Detective Obaro.

I raised my Desert Eagle.

"Do it!" ordered Detective Obaro before I pulled the trigger.

I thought it was boring so I kind of stopped it@ Sconp. But now I will be posting more updates. 319 views and counting.

For some minutes Danny was stuck admiring the fastest car on the planet. He rubbed the invincible red shiny metal covering it softly to make sure he didn't leave a stain. The caps on its huge wheels were still spinning. An EB was etched into its chasis in form of a logo. The interior was covered in perfectly hand sewn leather, everything gave it a supercar look. If this kind of ride cruises your street and you don't smile like a clown then you've got no automobile soul.

"So what could be wrong with it?" asked Danny before popping the hood. He almost gasped for breath. The engine looked like something out of a spaceship. Four turbochargers and sixteen cylinders in layman's terms translated into a whole lot of speed. He was eager to know what sort of records he could break with this vehicle. Right now, Mia was waiting.

He produced a scanning device and took looks at the vehicle.

"The AI is having some systematic problems, that's all" said Danny.

"How do you know?" asked Mia. Danny waved the scanning device.

"So when can I get my car back"

Bugatti cars like this could only be repaired in places like Germany and Italy. It would be impossible for a roadside gig to even change its sport tyres. He knew this was a big risk, but somehow he had to take it.

"Maybe a week" said Danny before walking away only to be stopped by Mia.

"Let me make this clear. This is expensive stuff. I don't want to hear any kaput, blamo, tottaled and never to be driven again stories, see you in seven days" said Mia before walking out to flag down a taxi. It was the taxi driver, his rickety was moving now with the help of a few pushes.

Danny watched her enter before the cab spluttered on with the fast moving traffic. He smiled when he took another look at the car. He was going to do this, get all the help he could. She must come from a rich somewhere, a lot of money would be in it for them. It wasn't just the cash reward that made him happy. Here was a new car to take on a spin. He was going racing.

He walked back into the building before speaking with Chike.

"Hey man, get everybody you can. We've got work to do"

"So how did it go with the suspect?" asked the Taxi driver.

"He took the bait for sure. Gave me a week, enough time for us to find our grand theft auto gang" replied Mia.

The driver turned his head to flash a smile at Mia. It was Detective Obaro.

"NOOOOOO!" Odewaju's scream was loud and clear. It was not from the pain of dying again-seeing his body turn into a mass of roasted flesh
It was seeing the woman that gave him a reason to live fall down the chasm with the tormenting flames leering at her. The veins on his body became thick, his claws retracted. The canines on his still screaming mouth metamorphosed to form fangs. Time seemed to slow down. He leapt towards her, knocking her back before the flames could consume her. The short man was gripped with shock when Adara's body landed on him causing him to fall. Quickly he got up, drawing out the dagger from his loincloth. Odewaju attacked too fast. The dagger was thrust into one of his eyes, penetrating deep.

He writhed in pains as if he was struck by lightning. He smashed a punch into the man's jaw sending him tumbling into the pit. Odewaju could hear him screams until he was completed consumed. The two guards began to retreat hastily baring him with their spears. Pain ate every inch of his soul. He gripped the handle of the dagger in his eye and pulled it out along with a slushied mess. The last thing he saw before everything went black was Adara.

CHAPTER ONE

The Taxi driver tried to turn on the taxi but it wouldn't start. There was an auto shop nearby but he was afraid to go there. The mere size and organization of the place looking like a car factory made him shiver. The cars parked outside looked flashy and were the latest brands unlike his rickety. DANNY'S RIDE was emblazoned on the top of the magnificent building in red italics. Instead of embarrassing himself, he was going to find people who would help him push.

Danny knew that his workers were always obnoxious. They flaunted the fact that they worked here. He could see Chike trying to ask out a girl he was supposed to be helping. The other customers were busy getting delayed. Some kept themselves busy by gazing at the mystery girl. She had long black hair that danced in the wind. Her bust was small but perfect. Her waist thinned down to amplify the size of her butt. Overall she was seductive. The man behind her was busy trying to tap current. Danny knew he had to intervene.

"Chike what's up? You have been attending to this queue for ages, maybe you need some help" said Danny. Before Chike could protest, he pulled the girl away. She was a little taller than him. He had a jotter and pen in his hands so everything looked professional. He felt like knowing her a bit.

"What's your name, miss?" He asked pretending not to care.

"Don't you want to know the name of my car?" She said in reply. He feigned control and asked her for it.

"You should have asked for my car's problem first" She said making him foolish. No wonder Chike was having a hard time with her. He decided to admit what he was doing.

"Okay, I'm just checking you out. Has anyone told you that you look nice?"
She blushed before frowning to hide it. She elbowed him in the stomach.

"You are just like your workers, hitting on ladies. Follow me to my ride" She said sweetly. Danny followed her like a sheep led to the slaughterhouse.

"My name's Mia" She announced as soon as they reached the parking lot. Danny's jaw almost fell off at the sight in front of him.

"This is my Bugatti"

Inspiration

The first scenes in the story were inspired by the Mexican movie Apocalypto. Salem's Lot and 30 days of night also gave me ideas for the story.

I'm a fresh writer but I believe I can describe everything to make you read more. I would like criticism for my work. I promise to update daily as soon as I start from the prologue.

I've been following as a ghost and finally decided to comment. This is very interesting. Love your action scenes. They remind me of the Hitman video game series.
