The duo pleaded not guilty... and I guess will be remanded. What saddens me most is nothing been said about how the victim will be threated. WHY would a mother leave her 12 year old daughter behind, at the age she needs her mother most? Lets help protect the girl child. |
Eglobalma:Its not easy but you can start with one little positive step. You have a bright future ahead of you, a destiny to fulfill and you are full of life. Start with mediation, talk with someone, please. |
Snow84:Women are weird because they are wired up with so much emotions which men don't have. Yes they are endangered and need your help. Some ladies feel the same way you feel. I've read and heard about this category of women you speak about, but not met them yet. Life is too short to keep hating, step aside and give life a fresh start. The journey you have stated is just a single mile, you will need some company in this journey either a wife or a son or a daughter. We all need a helping hand. Talk to someone. life can get better. Don't bother yourself with what these women think. What do you think about yourself? How will you get the best out of life? Enjoy it while you are here and breathing. |
You sound very sad and depressed. I may be wrong. I'd like to ask a few questions cause I think this is triggered by a thought or something you are yet to get over. I took time off to go thru some of your write ups and its all in same trend. This feeling didn't just start, you fell in love at a point in time and when the relationship (which lasted for 3yrs) didn't work out you felt being treated as a cute bunny (your words) and your feelings were toyed with. You also feel you get too much of attention because of your looks and good nature. You get frustrated when you don't have much money with you... I could go on and on from your articles. Now what? 1. See a psychiatrist - you need to talk to a person rather than staying on the phone or computer. 2. Accept the fact that you did not create yourself and appreciate your gifts. You could use it for good. 3. Try meditation - it helps clear your mind and relax 4. Remove focus on yourself, you already got that from the girls. Get a pet and nurse it or do something creative like learning arts (drawing, photography etc.) 5. You don't talk much about friends or family so I guess you enjoy being alone, try going out, maybe travel to other places There is more to life than the thought of hurting girls. Ever thought about the pains you will bring to others who love you just the way you are? I don't know you but I know you have more to give and people to help and love. Please see a psychiatrist. I'll remember you in prayers. |
Ernest Chinwo in Port Harcourt with agency report Rivers State Governor Nyesom Wike has advised the Army High Command to desist from posting soldiers to politicians, saying it is counter-productive and a threat to national security. The governor said the Chief of Army Staff, General Tukur Buratai, should go beyond complaining that politicians are hobnobbing with soldiers and take action to check the disturbing trend. This is just as the British government has warned against “non-democratic” change of government in Nigeria, amid concerns over Buratai’s warning on Tuesday to officers and soldiers in the Nigerian Army to steer clear of politics and politicians, whom he claimed were attempting to influence them. He said the Nigerian Army headquarters had received information that some individuals have been approaching some officers and soldiers for undisclosed political reasons. On this basis, Buratai warned such persons to desist from these acts and warned his men to remain apolitical. However, speaking during the flag off of the construction of Old Aba Road by Mbano junction in Oyigbo Local Government Area Wednesday, Wike said all over the world, only the commander-in-chief has soldiers guarding him. He regretted that in Nigeria, the authorities have made it a practice to allocate soldiers to politicians who are in the good books of the federal government, with such being soldiers used for undemocratic actions against the people. He wondered: “Who are those approving battalions of soldiers to politicians? If they don’t want soldiers to follow politicians, they should stop giving soldiers to politicians. “It is only in Nigeria that soldiers accompany politicians. They should stop soldiers from being security details to politicians. Somebody comes home and they will give him a battalion of soldiers and they say soldiers should not hobnob with politicians. “All over the world, it is only the commander-in-chief that is allowed to use soldiers. But here, you see soldiers following politicians everywhere.” On the construction of Old Aba Road, the governor assured residents of the area that the road would be completed on schedule. He added that the Old Market Road to Afam would also be awarded and constructed by his administration in Oyigbo Local Government Area. He said since the All Progressive Congress (APC)-led federal government has refused to complete the East West Road, his administration would continue to develop alternative routes to lubricate the Rivers economy. He said that his performance has silenced the APC, urging the people of the state to turn out en masse for the voters’ registration exercise, so that they can vote out failed politicians. In his remarks, Works Commissioner, Mr. Iheanyichuwu Bathuel, said the Old Aba Road at the Mbano junction was a critical economic road that connects neighbouring states. Also speaking, the Caretaker Committee Chairman of Oyigbo Local Government Area, Dr. Gbali Chisom, lauded Wike for commencing construction of the road. Meanwhile, the British government Wednesday warned against “non-democratic” change of government in Nigeria. Making the comment, the British High Commissioner to Nigeria, Ambassador Paul Arkwright, said: “The British government believes that democracy is actually critical in Nigeria. “There are elections. If you’re not happy with your leaders then you should change your leadership through the democratic process and through elections.” According to online news medium, Premium Times, the High Commissioner spoke on the sidelines of an event held in Abuja to formally launch a new report on corruption in Nigeria, which was put together by UK policy think-tank, Chatham House. The UK envoy, while recognising the rights of citizens to agitate for a more tolerable living conditions, said his country would only encourage a change of power through the ballot box. “Our position is very clear: we stand for democracy, we stand for the democratic process and we stand for change —if that is what the people themselves want,” the diplomat said. “That has to be a choice the people make and not a choice that is imposed upon them.” https://www.thisdaylive.com/index.php/2017/05/18/stop-allocating-soldiers-to-politicians-wike-replies-buratai/

By Muyiwa Adeyemi (Head South West Bureau Ekiti State Governor, Ayodele Fayose has called on President Muhammadu Buhari to order the unconditional release of leader of the Indigenous Peoples of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu, and other Nigerians who have been unjustly incarcerated like Sambo Dasuki, the ex-National Security Adviser (NSA) to former President Goodluck Jonathan. In a statement in Ado-Ekiti yesterday by his Chief Press Secretary, Mr. Idowu Adelusi, he asked President Buhari to reciprocate the mercies of God upon his life by showing mercy on Kanu and the others. He also advised that it would be wrong to reverse the gains we made under democracy, adding that the current peace in the Niger Delta and the slight improvement in the nation’s economy must be sustained. He thanked God for the President’s return, which he said was all at the mercies of God, and particularly because Nigerians prayed for him. His words: “It, therefore, behooves on you to show mercy on Kanu and Dasuki, who have been granted bail by the courts of competent jurisdiction, and such other Nigerians that are suffering unjust, punitive, illegal, and unconstitutional incarceration under this administration. “Allow all those who have been granted bail by the court to enjoy their bail while their trial continues. This is the right, just, and merciful thing to do, especially now that your good self is looking up to God for mercy.” Fayose, however, condemned some Igbo leaders who he said, were playing politics with Kanu’s continued incarceration and warned that his continued incarceration could be interpreted to mean hatred for the Igbo people. https://guardian.ng/news/fayose-urges-buhari-to-release-kanu-others-unconditionally/

By Owen Akenzua, Asaba Flay workers resistance of revival Investors in the moribund multi-billion naira Delta Steel Company, Ovwian-Aladja, now Premium Steel and Mines Limited (PSML), have said the resuscitation of the complex would gulp about N600 billion. Some investors from the United States and Morocco, have reportedly visited the company on Sunday, where they carried out assessment of the facilities, and expressed hope that Premium Steel and Mines Limited (PSML) has done well within the period they took over the company, adding that prospect of a robust industrial revolution in the area was high. The Chief Executive Officer of PSML, Prasanta Misha, who confirmed the visit of the investors in a telephone interview with The Guardian, said the N600 million would be used for broken down equipment as well as renovating the buildings and a host of many others. He added that the investors were conducted round the various units and departments of the Steel Complex with the assurance of imminent resuscitation to boost the local economy. But investigation revealed that unpaid workers of the company had allegedly vowed to resist the resuscitation project unless their outstanding salaries were paid. One of the workers who preferred anonymity, said: “we will disrupt workings on the project unless the investors pay our outstanding salaries.” In a swift reaction, Misha flayed the plan by workers to disrupt the resuscitation project, assuring that their outstanding would be settled. The international investors were said to have been taken to the DSC harbor, Direct Reduction (DR) plant and the pellet plant, Lime Plant, Rolling Mill, Electric Arc Furnace, and the Continuous Caster. They also went to the other auxiliary units of the plant such as the foundry, electrical and mechanical maintenance workshops and water supply system. The investors equally inspected the fire and safety, heavy equipment workshops, the rolling mill section, the SMS section, the Nigeria Gas Company, NGC, the major supplier of gas to the plant, the DSC schools and hospitals among other assets in the complex. The team of American investors led by Sekar Rejendran, in a chat expressed confidence with the management and ingenuity of PSML since they took over the company. They assured that in no distant time DSC would come alive again, as they were fully prepared to mobilise fund to revamp the company and bring it back to production level again. Mishra had earlier expressed delight with the coming of the investors, assuring that Udu, Delta State and Nigeria at large would soon experience a boom in the steel sector with the resuscitation of the Aladja Steel Plant. He called on the host communities to continue to cooperate with the management, as thousands of unemployed youths from the area would soon have reason to smile as the company is poised to employ qualified persons soon. The teams of investors from the two countries include M. Ahmed Mssali, DEBBRAH Mohammed Amine, SekarRejendran (from America), Rajesh Devarajahn, Tilak Raj Chaudhry and Subrahmanyam Paparaju. https://guardian.ng/business-services/investors-plan-n600billion-fund-for-delta-steel-resuscitation/

It used to be just one of the beautiful houses in the quiet neighbourhood. Black, glittering iron-rod gates, red bricks, trees and a green-white-green flag fluttering in the breeze. Not anymore. Abuja House, the Nigerian High Commission in the United Kingdom, is now famous – for housing a Very Important Personality (VIP), President Muhammadu Buhari. Located in the posh Campden Hill area of the Borough of Kensington and Chelsea in West London, Abuja House is one of the most prominent buildings on the street. Across the road is the home of the High Commissioner of South Africa to the UK. This is where President Buhari has been spending his vacation. The President left the country after informing the National Assembly and transferring power to Vice President Yemi Osinbajo as acting president on January 19. The announcement of the President’s vacation, which was initially for 10 days before it was extended last week, added that the President would take the advantage of his trip to do some medical checks. That sparked speculations, especially in the social media, that the President was gravely ill and in the hospital. The rumour won’t go away despite attempts to dispel it by presidential aides and the Federal Government. This, however, has turned out to be false. Last week, All Progressives Congress (APC) stalwart Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu and former Interim Chairman of the party Chief Bisi Akande, visited the President at the Abuja House. The photograph of the visit, with the President beaming, was splashed on the front pages of many newspapers. Yesterday, our London Bureau Chief met with the President’s cousin, Alhaji Mamman Daura, who visited the president. At exactly 1.05 pm (London time), two young women believed to be President Buhari’s daughters were driven out of the Abuja House in a black Mercedes Benz car.The vehicle returned at 2.24 pm without its passengers. At 1.20 pm, Daura arrived in a London black cab. He was with two others. Daura, who left at about 2.50 pm, declined comments when asked about how the President was getting on. He said; “I came here with Asiwaju (Bola Tinubu) the other day, didn’t you see it?” Shortly after, the serenity of the street was shattered (at about 3.30pm), when five officials – two contracted private security guards and three others, who appeared to be High Commission officials, and a personal aide to the president, came to ask why this reporter was “hanging around”. He was threatened and told to go away to avoid police invitation. “You have to go away with this car from here. You cannot take any photograph here,” a guard said. But this reporter declined because the United Kingdom law does not forbid parking on a public road and taking photographs of private properties from public view. Four policemen later arrived at about 3.40 pm, using two vans and two motor bikes. The policemen were armed. The engagement between this reporter and the policemen turned into a friendly banter – to the embarrassment of the officials who received a lecture from the police that there was no offence in taking photographs of private properties and also parking on a public road where there is no double yellow line. But the policemen told this reporter that high commissions get worried when unfamiliar people come around to take photographs and loiter. According to them, the Saudi Embassy is particularly not inclined to people coming around it. “We do get regular calls like that,” one of the policemen said. http://thenationonlineng.net/day-abuja-house-london/

By Emma Amaize, Festus Ahon, Perez Brisibe and Paul Olayemi OGHARA – FORMER Governor of Delta State, Chief James Ibori, yesterday reaffirmed his innocence of charges leveled against him in the United Kingdom where he recently served a jail term, saying, “I am not a thief.” Chief Ibori, who spoke in English and his native Urhobo dialect, gave the clarification at a thanksgiving service organised in honour of him by the monarch and people of Oghara kingdom at the First Baptist Church, Oghara. The former governor, who was dressed in light brown native and blue wrapper, was ushered into the church during the praise and worship session at about 10.25a.m in company of his sister, Christie Ibori-Ibie, daughter and member, state House of Assembly, Hon Eriatakhe Ibori and a host of other dignitaries. Speaking for the first time since his arrival after serving his jail term in London, Chief Ibori said: “Today, I have decided to speak for myself, I am not a thief, I cannot be a thief. Today is the day they say I should give testimony to God, for those that know me, you know that my entire life is a testimony itself and I have said it over and over again that my life is fashioned by God, directed by God, sealed, acknowledged, blessed by God and I believe that since the day I was born. “Like the Arch Bishop said, when this whole commotion started, what was most painful to me was the pain and suffering that my people were going through. “It has nothing to do with me as a person because for some reasons like I said to you, I drew my strength from God and somehow, I knew that God would stand by me, I knew that one day, and this day would come. I am indeed very pleased that I can now stand before you and look at your faces, faces that I have missed and those of you that have indeed suffered the pains of my absence. It has nothing to do with me. “So, when I reflect, it gives me joy that all your prayers, God has answered, all your support and solidarity with me all through this period, it is indeed not what I can begin to say…” “If I am to give testimony of my journey, you will not leave here. The only testimony that I have is the fact that I am back and alive in your midst. And again I say that I never had any doubt in my mind that I would get back home,” he said. Speaking in Urhobo, Ibori asserted: “There is an Urhobo adage that says it is in the river that one changes clothes, it is in the river that I changed my cloth.” “When I looked how things were going, I discovered that they want to separate me from you people. They want me to go to the corner where I will not be seen. “That is how I see it. At a point, I called my elder brother (former Governor Uduaghan) that this is how I can get home, that this is what I am about to do now. It was a pragmatic decision. I am happy to be home with my people. There is nobody that can battle with the Lord. Urhobo adage says there is time for everything (Okemutie). A day will come when I will tell my story and every one of you will hear me. Today is to thank God,” he added. Earlier, the South-South chairman, Christian Association of Nigeria, CAN, Arch Bishop Gpddowell Awomakpa, who delivered a sermon on “Knowing the Gift of God,” said: “Ibori was the point of contact that unites government with the church. What we actually need are politicians, who would go into politics for the betterment of the land.” “James Ibori comes from God and as we speak, he represents another government up there. In Urhobo land, we have two people who made mighty impact. Olorogun Michael Ibru, after him, all of them went there for their pocket until the time of Brother James. “Some of you while in office did not even build a house for anyone, but this building that we are in here today, was actually built by Brother James, besides who believed that Brother James would come and be here with us today. Today indeed calls for joy and celebration for the people of Oghara kingdom,” the clergy man asserted. In his remark, the Ovie of Oghara kingdom, Orefe III, who spoke on behalf of the people of the kingdom, said: “Oghara is blessed with a very big son in who we are well pleased. “Our son has placed Oghara in a very big map for which we are very happy. We lost our son for some time; he went to a special school and is it not right that we celebrate him? He has touched so many lives and for that we are indeed happy.” Dignitaries present at the event include the former Delta State governor, Dr. Emmanuel Uduaghan, member representing Ethiope Federal constituency in the national assembly, Hon. Lovett Idisi, Speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Monday Igbuya, Secretary to the Delta State Government, Chief Ovie Agas, Delta State APC factional chairman, Chief Adolor Okotie-Ebor, Senator Patrick Osakwe, Chief Ighoyota Amori, Ovuzorie Macaulay, a cross section of monarchs and a host of political appointees from Delta State.
