Wow !!! What a family This is the single most interesting and disgusting piece of info i have had in recent times so sad so sad, so very sad ![]() |
Too true Ivvie, Nigerians need to be very careful when buying cars, my folks in the states informed me that there are currently loads of Nigerians in the US right now, stocking containers with salvaged vehicles that look decent for onward shipping to Nigeria for sale to unknowing Nigerians. FOLKS!!!!! Check your vehicle's carfax before committing to a vehicle, no matter how good it looks. Also beware of VIN cloning which is also now on the increase. I will try to help with VIN reports as much as i can |
Ivvie, I fully understand where you are going and i fully respect that. I probably am not as deep in my research as you are and i might not know enough to justify my point but like i said ford has served me well so far. I remember the firestone/ford tire issues from way back but in the end, nobody really could say ford or firestone was responsible for the reported accidents I currently drive a 2001 explorer that drives reasonably ok and expecting delivery of a 2004 version first week next month without any hesitation, i did my research online b4 i got the 2001 and also the 2004 and still i exercise no doubt about the vehicle. All car manufacturers have recalls from time to time, ford is no exception I personally feel safer knowing Americans built my car (I hope they did o) Your talk on Material Science, Finite Element Analysis / Stress Analysis goes to show you probably are a science inclined person, not me o Thanks for clearing up a lots of points though, much appreciated |
Rotex , are you looking for a 'road side' that is cool or an authorized Mazda outlet. I got a guy that is pretty good that used to work on my Nissan back in the days and he was really good, he is supposed to be very good with Japanese cars in general, he's workshop is located in Shangisha side of Lagos |

You can be sure this is not in naija check out this news article culled from news of the world CAN'T decided what to buy your kids this Christmas? How about this doll's des res — a snip at just £34,995! The luxury red brick-style mansion boasts six rooms and a sumptious interior to put most full-size homes to shame. Or for the same money you could forget about the doll's house and get a REAL house instead in Accrington, Lancs. The doll's mansion, just 80cms high and 110cms wide, is in a much sought after London location—top people's store Harrods. The "quintessential Georgian Gothic" property has only one bedroom, plus a bathroom, kitchen, hallway, lounge and sitting room. It comes with chandelier, carpets and original art on the walls. It even has working lamps and a well-stocked kitchen with pots and pans. The attention to detail is staggering, with a newspaper left on a chair and shoes left in the hallway. By contrast, the £35,000 property in Augusta Street, Accrington, is just a humble mid-terrace. But it does have one more bedroom. The doll's house has been made by art historians Kevin Mulvany and Susan Rogers of Bradford-on-Avon, Wilts. It took three months to build, has a "15,000 brick finish", and is on display in Harrods' toy department until Christmas. Interest Susan revealed yesterday: "A lot of people have shown an interest in it already." But despite the price tag, they think of it as more as a first-time buyer's property. Three years ago, one of their miniature homes sold for an eye-watering £200,000. Wonderfull www.24cubehosts.com www.24cube.co.uk www.24cubehosts.net |

Hi viperman What can you do a fully loaded, ford explorer 2002/2003 for? Preferably the Eddie Bauer model. |
The Nigeria Police are really a big disgrace. Just yesterday i was stopped twice within 50 meters by 2 separate teams in surulere. My papers were all complete, but this very hungry policeman had to look for something. He opened my doors and started to search for the date of manufacture, it was really very funny, he couldn't find it so he asked me , i told him i had absolutely no idea ( i drive a 2001 ford explorer) Next he accused of using tinted windows, i explained to him that the car was an American spec suv and comes standard with tints and that knowing the kind of police we have here, i actually went all out to change the tint to normal windows,he insisted that my boot windows was still tinted, at this moment i began to laugh, he got offended and invited his 'oga', a sergent, i guess when that one came and took a good look at me and heard the whole story, he just asked me to go, expecting me to say thank you i just drove away. Its really sad, the police is now immigration, road safety, lasma and what have you, we get to go to ghana and other african countries and they are more or less better organised. I think a special thread should start on police corruption and we should really publicize the thread, post all your shameful encounters with the Nigerian police and quote the police id and name of the police person in question, get the newspapers and entire nigerians invoved. Invite the police public relations officer to be a part (if this will help), send mail to their email address. For your own safety , make sure your address and phone number is not listed on nairaland o!!!. I have personally met with a number of very decent police officers, educated, polished, its just some bad eggs that spoil the whole pack |

The reason a direct link wasn't posted in the first place is because there's more to portableapps than just the antivirus, (and do you always have to be spoon fed?, whatever happened to giving a beggar a hoe rather than 20naira)to get the antivirus to work, you need the application base, there's load of free application add-ons to choose from and each user's needs might differ from the other. When you visit the site you get to browse their database and decide for yourself which add-ons you want. You get to appreciate the application more. For me i went for Clamav, Mozilla firefox, thunderbird, Filezilla,Putty and VLC. Visit www.portableapps.com If someone in nairaland is 'smart' enough to say clamav doesn't work, then i beg to differ. You are getting for free, the same open-source antivirus application that powers a large percentage of the world's linux based enterprise gateways. Dude if you can't figure out, how to get the application and others have, abeg stop trying to lead guys astray, check out the application for yourself guys and see if it works for you or not. Portableapps ia a great alternative for u3 applications that comes pre-installed on U3 flash drives. Imagine being able to take your office applications and latest virus definitions with you anywhere you go. Find attached a screenshot of what portableapps looks like when run from your system

Checkout the application for yourself am sure you will all be impressed. Bros wey carry malware, check your system o ![]() Enjoy !!!!! www.24cube.co.uk www.24cubehosts.com www.24cubehosts.net |

Stumbled across this just a few minutes ago, it appears the guys at MSFT don't like the idea of free software, they just might try to take it away from us. I found this article at computerworld.com. Scary stuff linux luvers. In an interview with Fortune magazine, Brad Smith, Microsoft's general counsel, and Horacio Gutierrez, the company's vice president of intellectual property and licensing, said open-souce software, including Linux, violates 235 Microsoft patents. And Microsoft wants distributors and users of open-souce software to start paying royalties for these alleged violations. Smith broke down the alleged patent violations during the Fortune interview, saying the Linux kernel violates 42 patents and the operating system's user interface violates a further 65. He went on to claim that the Open Office application suite violates 45 patents and open-source e-mail applications infringe on 15 more. Other open-source software applications infringe on 68 patents, Smith said. Microsoft has been laying the groundwork for patent claims against Linux and open-source software for some time. Most notably, the Redmond, Washington, software company signed a Linux deal with Novell Inc. that indemnifies the company against Microsoft patent claims over Linux. Last week, Dell Inc. joined the deal, becoming the first hardware vendor to do so. Microsoft has struck other deals with hardware makers. In April, Samsung Electronics Co. Ltd. and Microsoft signed a cross-licensing agreement that included a clause that indemnified Samsung against Linux patent claims. |
I recently came across a fantastic tool that enables users to install fully functional and update -able antivirus software on their flash drives, external hard disks, ipods e.t.c. It is free. It contains no spyware. There are no advertisements. It isn't a limited or trial version. There is no additional hardware or software to buy. You don't even have to give out your email address. It's 100% free to use, free to copy and free to share. visit this site for more information on how to get the tool http://fedoraunit..com/ |

Hey, I can't help you out with type of questions and all that but it's more 'general aptitude' oriented. Papers and pencils are also not required, it's a web based test meaning you need a basic understanding of computer use to be able to sit for it. Just keep a clear head when you come in and you should do just fine That's it. |
