@shakerz
at her tender age just 13 to be reciting 255 Biblical Verses Off-Head must take some kind of intensive indoctrination even if its applied in a subtle way by her parents . While her peers are out playing she must've spent hours upon hours day weeks months and probably years just cramming verses from the bible. Its brainwashing.

Looks like the premise of my point went over your head. Everything that a child is taught under your definition is indoctrination, and sadly you place a negative connotation. The only issue i have with you is that your so narrow minded to the degree that since a particular teaching of a parent does not parallel what you believe is right, it must be automatically negative and wrong or brainwashing. For instance i can easily say that allowing the Girl to be running outside is a form of indoctrination, instead she should be inside learning how to read, or maybe she should be memorizing thousands of notes for violin or learning the intricate keys for piano, i bet you would not complain about that would you? The point is no that child is born without indoctrination, however disagreeing with a particular medium of indoctrination doesnt mean that the indoctrination is necessarily bad---

What am saying is pretty elementary, really take a class on sociology or child development and take off your blinders because i can see the anti-religion charade behind your concern for the child. Why not be honest and say that because she is taught about religion you are against it? Why not drop the false notion of brainwashing? hmm,

And how is reciting biblical verses going to help her progress in her life. If she had the same knowledge for IT at her age or for medicine we would know that she has a very bright future. Its brainwashing.

Am not even Christian, but i realize that it is pretty impressive. However, your definition of brainwashing is self-defeating because children are meant to be taught and absorb knowledge. Whether you are born into an Atheistic household, agnostic or theistic a certain amount of information is adopted by the child by default. Sometimes brainwashing isnt suppose to have a negative connotation. This is why i dont take Dawkins religious brainwashing notions very seriously, considering that i have seen people who complain that as Children their parents forced Atheistic dogmas on them.

Really even simple value such as being good to people or being generous could be considered under your narrow mindset a form of brainwashing, perhaps the parents should not teach them nothing and let them walk aimlessly and blind into the world.

Just as a note, i know many Muslim Children, many at age 8 and up who have memorized the entire quran to heart. In fact, this is a tradition in the Muslim world where over 100 million people have it dedicated to heart, a tradition that has preserved the Quran throughout history

I'm deeply struggling for the sake of deep sight to see the "sense" in the quoted post. One comes blabbing stuffs like "God is one", "God is self sufficient", "He is not found in everything", "God has hairy balls and bla bla". . . .like a god appeared to him and said, "Shakerz, shake before me on your prayer mat and behold my hairy testicles for I am one self sufficient God"

Ask the dude how he knew all this and he'll squirm 'I read it in my holy book'. . . I'm again struggling to see the difference between he and noetic/davidylan who both read about god in their book too.

This is just another lame attempt at "my religion is better than yours" banter. Notice how he happily associated judaism with islam yet no prizes for guessing this mohammedan is for the extermination of jews and levelling of isreal. I agree with Pastor AIO, Religion does indeed make you Stoopid.

You're deeply not finding any worth of not because you havent even given the argument any real worth of measurement. The historical argument of the corruption of the bible is not mine, nor is originally sourced in Muslim plomics, rather it is born out of western scholarship. For instance books such as Misquoting Jesus by Bart D Ehrman are only the most recent textual criticism, but we know scholars have literary torn the credability of the bible dating back to 1600 century and since then have produced hundreds and hundreds of literature on the subject. Muslims generally do not have scholars in this field(i dont think one exist) so most of the sources have humanistic scholars or seculars in the field.
The logic of induction i made is entirely plausible especially when you consider that moving back in time in Christian History;the religion itself becomes less and less what Modern Christian is, but rather a more simple Jewish version of Christianity. It is not suprising that groups like the Ebonites, the Nazarenes(or onez), and varios gnostic views who once held dominance in the near east believed more or less that Jesus was the mesiah, a man who had come to fullfill the law of Moses and did not die on the cross. When Paul version of Christian began to spread and become endorses and after the plight and disappearance of the Gnostic groups, certain christian began to realize that during this developing period the faith has indeed been changed:
"Indeed, when in 160 Bishop Melito of Sardis went to Judea to discover what had become of the legendary Jerusalem Church, to his dismay he found not the descendants of the apostles, but instead a small group of [, ] Christians, who called themselves the Ebionites or 'Poor Men', [who] had their own Gospel of the Ebionites and also a Gospel of the Hebrews, a Gospel of the Twelve Apostles and a Gospel of the Nazarenes. All of these gospels differed significantly from the gospels of the New Testament.”-"Jesus Mysteries" by Freke & Gandy
Here is an excerpt from a ducumentary on the history of the bible. An interesting note is made about the discovery of an earlier bible found in Palestine; tell me if this what you believe?

But i dont want to go into biblical history because you can read the literture.
". Notice how he happily associated judaism with islam yet no prizes for guessing this mohammedan is for the extermination of jews and levelling of isreal."
I dont want to generalize but one of the common mistakes of Athiest or even agnostics is that they begin to generalize whole statement, or make silly assertions that are not supported by the text. Why do you pose to be this intelligent guy who scattered the truth and sees anyone who believes in a religion as stupid yet you say thins like this? Really, Mohammed said to Kill Jews and level Israel? Besides your logical fallacy of ad hominem attacks and filthy language, i will take solace in trying to explain this you clearly. You will be better for the experience i soppose.
1. Most of the Quran's exhortation are suprisingly about the Jewish people, their history and the prophets who have been sent to them.
"Children of Israel! call to mind the favour which I bestowed upon you, and that I preferred you to all others. (Surah 2:47 repeated in 2:122)
Remember Moses said to his people: "O my people! Call in remembrance the favour of Allah unto you, when He produced prophets among you, made you kings, and gave you what He had not given to any other among the peoples.(Surah 5:21)
We did deliver aforetime the Children of Israel from humiliating Punishment, Inflicted by Pharaoh, for he was arrogant (even) among inordinate transgressors. And We chose them aforetime above the nations, knowingly, (Surah 44:30-32)"
2. The Quran or in any authentic Ahadeeth where Prophet Mohammed makes it a religious requirement to kill Jews or level Israel. I find that statement affront to logic, i dont even know where to begin. Here is the verse revealed that should settle this notion and by the way i quickly searched through anti-islamic webpages and they dont even claim this.
"and He does not forbid you to deal kindly and justly with anyone who has not fought you for your faith or driven you out of your homes: God loves the just."
Even more, In Islam Jews and Christian can still enter Christianity "“The [Muslim] believers, the Jews, the Christians, and the Sabians – all those who believe in God and the Last Day and do good – will have their rewards with their Lord. No fear for them, nor will they grieve”"
Your last point is a bit moot because some of the attributes of God, also called Monotheism, can be found in many religions, such as in the beghaveda, in Buddihism, even in the religions of natives. But more importantly those characteristics are the religion of Abraham and differ from the modern conception of how Christian now view God-

Last the last punch in the Gut of Nioletic, here is an interesting article by a Christian refuting the notion of Allah being a separate Diety or being a demon God.

"1- The Name of Allah is the name of the true God:

a- The Moslems worship the true God who has been the God of the Ancient and New Testament. They confess that "in order to be a good Moslem, you have to be a good Jew and a good Christian", a statement of confessing to the truth of the other two religions.

b- The name of Allah was taking by the Moslems from the Christians who existed five centuries before the arrival of Islam. Arabs were mentioned in the book of Acts at the time of the Pentecost."

On the liguistic formation of Allah:

"- The Name of Allah is the same as the name of Elohim:

a- In the Semetic languages Vowels do not count. Consonants form the words. These consonants are not written because they are not important and they do make the word sick and ill. So if we look at the name of Allah and the name of Elohim we will find the following:

Allah = L + H, Elohim = L+H+M (we will ignore the M and come back to it later).

b- In the Semetic languages, word roots are formed of three letters. It was found later on that these three letters were formed of two two-letter verbs. A complete study was made by several scholars among which is Fr. Marmarji S.J. in Lebanon.

c- L+H= LH (pronounced 'lahh') means "to him". God, Allah or Yahweh is not the name of God, Allah and Yahweh. God is not the name. He exists and no one knows his name. If we know His name then we will possess Him and understand Him, then He is not God the Omnopotents the Existant etc,

d- So instead we say "to Him" be the glory. "To Him" be the praise Look at the book of Revelation 5:13: Blessing and honor and glory and power be unto Him that sitteth upon the throne, and unto the Lamb for ever and ever. It is safe to say that instead of saying God you can say "To Him"

e- Till our present day, Christians and Moslems replace the name of God with "Taala" (pronounced 'Tah-ah-lah') the excelsior, the most high."
Islam for Muslims / Re: Is Allaah A Supreme Being Or Not, Nezan Et Al Come Around by shakerz: 12:01am On Oct 24, 2009
Here here is an interesting question, If ISLAM NEVER EXISTED, WOULD ALLAH still be a known Name for GOD Almighty among the Arab Jews and Christians today?

"Allah" in Arabic is "Elaw" in Aramaic. The Jews and Christians before Islam called GOD Almighty as "Allah" in the Middle East. "Allah" means the GOD Almighty that is above all gods (idols, humans, etc, ). "Elaw" in Aramaic means "God" or "GOD", and it means the same thing that the Arabic "Allah" means."

Here are archeological evidence that proved that the Arabic and Aramaic-speaking Jews and Christians in the 4rd century (200 years before Islam) called GOD Almighty as "Allah". The Hebrew speaking ones of course called Him "Yahweh" or "Jehovah", which means "The LORD" or "GOD". "Yahweh" is a Hebrew-language word. "Allah" is both Arabic and Aramaic.

Now where there Christian and Jews believing in God and not Paganism before Islam?

"Were there Jewish and Christian Arabs before Islam?

In the city of Madina in what we call today "Saudi Arabia", there were three main religions: Idol worshiping, Judaism and Christianity. The name of the Jewish leader who also was the Highest Priest in Madina before Islam came was "Abdallah Bin-Saba". His Arabic name was not "AbdElohim Bin-Saba" or "AbdElloi Bin-Saba" or "AbdGOD Bin-Saba". The reason why his first name was "Abdallah" is because the Arab Jews in Madina used the word "Allah" for GOD in their Holy Scriptures. The word "Allah" did indeed exist in the Arabic Talmud and the other Jewish Holy Scriptures.

Also, the Christians' Arabic Bible at that time used the word "Allah" for GOD. Even today's Christians' Arabic Bibles use the word "Allah" for GOD. Today in the Middle East, Christians sometimes name their kids "Abdallah". Also there are Christian families who's last names is "Abdallah".

In today's Arabic Bible, the word "Allah" is used for both the Old Testament and the New Testament. "

Here are the archelogical finding, i will quote the source at the end.

"Were there Jewish and Christian Arabs before Islam?

Another Christian affirming the finding

" "The history of Arabs before Islam" volume 8 pp. 178-179, and Vol 6, page 689. We can find thesites of the churches, temples and houses of our ancestors everywhere in today Arabic Countries especially in Syria, Iraq, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Lebanon, Jordan and Palestine.

Recently Father Pecerillo, a famous Franciscan Archiologist, found morethan twenty churches in Madaba at the south of Jordan. From the Forth Century we found houses in Syria, Lebanon, Iraq and Palestine with this inscriptionin Arabic :"Bism El-Lah (Allah) al Rahman al Rahim" that showed that Christians were the first to use this name so as to indicate their beliefin the Holy Trinity, more than two hundred years before Islam. Instead of using Muslim arguments, ill be objective and show what christian scholarships tell us now

Rick Brown in an article entitled "Who Is "Allah"?" in the International Journal Of Frontier Missions - a well-known missiology journal - which appeared in the summer of 2006, addressed the issue of various claims concerning Allah by his fellow Christian brethren. He starts by saying in the beginning of his article:

"Much of the anger expressed in the West has taken the form of demonizing the Islamic religion, to the extent of accusing Muslims of worshipping a demon. A key element of this attack has been the claim of some that the name Allah refers to a demon or at least a pagan deity, notably the so-called "moon god." Such claims have even been made by scholars who are reputable in their own fields but who are poorly acquainted with the Arabic language and Middle-Eastern history. The Kingdom of God, however, is never advanced by being untruthful, so this matter bears further investigation."

on whether Allah is the name of a demon or have rooted in paganism

"Suppose for the sake of argument that the ancient Arabs did worship the moon. This would have no bearing on the name Allah, for there is no inscription that identifies Allah as a moon god or as a pagan deity. This contrasts with the Hebrew, Greek, Latin, and English words for God, all of which descend from words that were commonly used by pagans in reference to pagan deities. So the name Allah is freer of pagan roots than are these other names"

Imad Shehadeh from Jordan Evangelical Theological Seminary refuted Morey's claim of Allah originally being the Moon-god of Arabia using textual, lexical, historical and theological evidences

"A recent popular theory asserts that Allah was originally the moon god worshiped in Arabia before and during Muhammad's time. According to this theory, when Muhammad came on the scene, the Ka‘bah contained 360 idols, among which was the moon god called 'ilah, or "a god." Then it is said that Muhammad declared this moon god to be the chief god and called it 'al 'ilah by adding the article 'al to 'ilah, thus yielding the meaning "the god.", Morey, who is foremost in popularizing this theory, cites many references from encyclopedias, dictionaries, works of philosophy and history, as well as various writers. However, though there is little doubt about the existence of moon god worshiped in Arabia before and during Muhammad's time, there are several weaknesses with identifying this moon god with Allah. In fact Muhammad initially adopted the name "Allah" as it was used by the Arabic-speaking Jews and Christians of his day in referring to the true God of the Bible. This assertion is based on four factors: textual, lexical, historical, and theological"("Do Muslims And Christians Believe In The Same God?)

what do the majority of scholars say

"d in the journal Christian Century recently. The question of whether Christians and Muslims worship the same God was dealt with by Jewish, Christian and Muslim scholars. They all reached the same conclusion that both Jews, Christians and Muslims worship the same God albeit they differ on the nature of God."

As a note here it would be interesting for you too look into the thousands of claims of coptic Arabic christian going back before Islam who say Allah is the one true God and as a consequence it is all over their bible.

I don;t see why you need to even start a topic of this nature, considering that now it has been historically established that the very foundation of Pauline Christianity is a theft from Mithra---the true dying man paganistic myth who came to save the people from their sins, sounds similar?

If you want to begin an investigation on who is Allah, the history of the name, the semantics, let us start with these videos that are on youtube by Jews and Muslim. No theory is as dead as the Moon God assertion.

When you type in God in the standard Aramaic lexicon here is the answer

"Meaning:God
Pronunciation: (Eastern) AaLaH

Look like Jesus was worshipping Allah and called his lord as such , he didnt use the word Lord or God. Not a good argument to put forward.

NOW here is a vidoe that completely distroys the moon god assertion(most christian abadon the theory)

But again that is the crux of the matter, we place God at a higher station and praise him for his unique Attributes. They are mad at us for not accepting a dying God or God who cannot forgive unless he kills himself as if we are the bad guys. In the end, God, a just one can only take offense at their degradation of God and not at our elevation.
Islam for Muslims / Re: Godson Et All, Where Are The Contradictions In The Qur'aan? by shakerz: 11:25pm On Oct 23, 2009
Godson really that was a horrible attempt at finding contradictions. I actually read this thread with gleam and finally expecting a Christian to point out a clear cut mistake and contradiction only to find this fool not tell the difference between abrogation(wasnt the old tastament done awaya with too) and contradiction or refer to verses that are soo clear in nature that it makes me wonder how he can misconstrue them. Perhaps it of no fault because you lack a firm grip in understanding of Arabic, islamic history, and the very art of exegisis.

Here are some reasons why it is difficult to point to internal contradictions in the Quran

1. The quranic verses generally are repetitive and clear
2. The message given is consistent in moral and meaning across the Meccan and Medina period.
3. The Quran rarely mentions explicit, non-essential dates and names of people or locations that seems to filtered all over the bible; useless information. So it is hard to find explicit mistakes.
4. Muslim over the centuries with the science of Hadith, the science of reliability not found in biblical scholarship points to when a verse was revealed and clears up the context of the issue
5. The science of interpreting the quran or tafsir makes it impossible to find an internal consistency.

Though finding an error in the bible or pointing to mathamatical errors or explicit dates contraditions can be easily pointed to in the bible due to scribal mistakes,
Islam for Muslims / Imagine The Christian God Telling The Muslims This by shakerz: 5:23pm On Oct 23, 2009
the crux of the matter is that Jews and Muslim see God in a more honorable way, and the christians whether you like it or not, degrade God. Can  you imagine God on the last day telling all the Muslims  to go to hell because they saw him as self-sufficient or they refused to believe in him dying because they said God is the one who never dies and it befits his majesty or that they disbeleived the original sin because they saw God as being forgiven and not allowing people to suffer at the hands of what two people ate. I doubt a God could be just and say, listen muslims, you should have believed that i died at the hands of a few roman soldiers because i sent myself to be killed and rise to myself so i can forgive you guys or that why did you pray five times a day and say God is great or that he has no partners in his dominion and raise me to such a status when you could have believed that I, God, the greatest to have existed, was born and entered the world through the birth canal of a 12 year old virign?

When ever a Christian tries to preach to you, tell him that. I have yet to find an even decent response to this because this gets to the heart of the matter. The christian god will punish people for raising him to an higher status than he soppesedely demands. Try it out when the next christian comes knocking at your door,

Be honest and judge which verse you implitcitly believe in, if no one came and told you what to believe about God.

Bible: "By the seventh day God had finished the work he had been doing; so on the seventh day he rested from all his work."

Quran: "We created the heavens and the earth and all that is between them in six days, and no weariness even touched Us."

If your still not convinced here is another comparison

Bible:"Then the Lord awaked as one out of sleep, and like a mighty man that shouts by reason of wine. [Psalm. 4:23]"

Quran: "Allah! There is no God but He,-the Living, the Self-subsisting, Eternal. No slumber can seize Him nor sleep. His are all things in the heavens and on earth. Who is there can intercede in His presence except as He permitteth? He knoweth what (appeareth to His creatures as) before or after or behind them. Nor shall they compass aught of His knowledge except as He willeth. His Throne doth extend over the  heavens and the earth, and He feeleth no fatigue in guarding and eserving them for He is the Most High, the Supreme (in glory). "

Enough said, take me to hell ohh Christian God for hornoring you above and praising you above

Really, look at the history of the Midterrean religion and the similarities, such as Mithra having 12 deciples or that he was part of the trinity, that he came to wipe the sin of mankind or that he died on the cross, it is endless.

By logic of induction.

You can only come to this conlusion

1. After the religion of Pualine Christianity became the state religion of Rome, it is plausible that the mixture of paganistic religions and the religion of Abrhaham became interwined. Evidence can be seen by the christian holidays that all have pagan roots, the discoveries of mithra burial and religions places which were destroyed by Christian. If you read the reports of the early church fathers who were worred about mithra to the point that the called them the people in the cave. If you go back into older christian, like jewish christian, like the ebionites the faith and the conception of God begins to resemble Jewish and Islamic views of God. The quran was indeed right, the bible has been corrupted. Look at the history of the textual variants, the hundreds of manuscripts errors and the political envrioment sorrounding the work of the scribes. Look at the faulty counsils dictating the idea of God hundreds of years after Jesus ascended or the manuscripts, the many aprochayi writing that were once cannons but later got rejected.

Its sad that posters like recognize is defending the notion of a God dying or a trinity when these concepts have rooted in paganistic religions notions.

Here is what Judaisism and Islam and the way of all the prophets view God.

1. God is one. Not three, not two, not one, not indivisible as if he is some kind of pie.
2. God is unique. Unique in the perfect sense, that his attributes are not like his creation in any sense. If you can point to something that may resemble God in the least, like a tree or man, then that is not God. Notions of God becoming Man seem to have rooted in more paganistic cultures, those different from monotheism.
3. God is Self-Sufficient---he does not rely on others, he does not sleep like we do or eat as we do, he is unique in that sense. He does not pray to others, he is the ever-living.
4. God is not in everything--he is distinct from his creation in that he does not abide in it. You cannot find god apart of your toilet. Rather Gods knowledge is everywhere, we say God is close to you, we say he is nearby in knowledge of proximity.
5. God Does Not Die--He is ever living, ever existing and so on.

These very attributes are the very reason we worship him, and that we say none is worthy of worship. Really, a god who is killed by a handful of men, who cannot forgive, who resembles his creation, who is not unique in the perfect sense, who puts a barbarious doctrine of original sin on the innocent, is he worthy of Worship? rEALLY? Is he worthy of praise?Ask yourself and be honest. Most people will be hardpressed disagreeing with the conception of God that i posted above, it is sound and natural

Lastly God is all wise and in a certain way does not do irrational things.God has power over all things but there are certain things he has a limit on. God cannot for example be self-sufficient, otherwise he would not be God. God cannot lie since we know he is honest, he cannot be injust or not forgiving since these are his attributes.

the crux of the matter is that Jews and Muslim see God in a more honorable way, and the christians whether you like it or not, degrade God. Can you imagine God on the last day telling all the Muslims on the last day to go to hell because they saw him as self-sufficient or they refused to believe in him dying because they said God is the one who never dies and it befits his majesty or that they disbeleived the original sin because they saw God as being forgiven and not allowing people to suffer at the hands of what two people ate.
