Qatar EnergyCEO already said it will take 3 - 5 years to return to back to full capacity after Iran attack wiped out 17% LNG Some of you just come here to attack people without any basis. So many toxicity on this forum lately. Make I leave this place for una |

With refineries getting blown up in the middle East, it's looks like Dangote Refinery will be a very good stock to invest in short to medium term. Most of the blown up refineries will take years to get fully operational.

Sunrisepebble: I don’t think they will suddenly become unprofitable but their margins might be diluted Yes , I agree but I will just like to see the Q1 2026 numbers before I decide if I would embrace the prevailing price and add more to my position, or if I will exit. There is nothing alarming, I only sounded a note of caution. |

Agbalowomeri: But we still rely much on imported palm oil. Presco and Okomu together only meet 5% of local demand unless my data source is wrong Like I said they remain solid companies with strong fundamentals but lately both companies have been complaining about illegal importation and foreign competitions They said it has contributed to 43% drop in domestic fruit bunch prices. I'm not really sure how that will impact their profitability in 2026. They was why I sounded the note of caution. |

Ginalex: Presco down by 10%👀👀. Who knows I might see something to pick at my target price from this week I advise you do some research before you pick any of the palm oil companies right now The companies are complaining about imported palm oil flooding the market, they are begging the government to step in, so they can remain profitable. They still remain solid companies with great fundamentals, I'm just sounding a note of caution. Shalom |

Not a buy recommendation.

awesomeJ: You'll pay CGT, and it's independent of the price you trade the bonds.
It's a function of how much of that 1.2bn is your profit.
If N500m for instance, you will pay roughly N120m as taxes. Okay . Thanks man |

I hope the tax gurus in the house will help answer questions in this hypothetical situation, I don't have a full understanding of the Nigeria new tax law yet
Mr A portfolio hit 1.2 billion in 2026. Instead of pulling out the fund from NGX , he decided to use the money to buy BONDS on NGX
Let's assume he bought the bond at face value of 100 Naira at 17% interest rate. Mr A felt 17M per month is enough for him , so he decided to stay away from the market for 3 years , he just dey enjoy life with 17M monthly proceeds from the Bond
After 3 years Mr A decided to sell this Bond and pull out the money completely from NGX
Considering the base year effects, if he decides to sell at discount, let's say 95 Naira , will the tax man , tax him , knowing that he is going to get less than the principal. Will it be treated as a loss ?
Scenario 2, if he decides to sell at premium, let's say 105Naira , what percentage of tax will he be subjected to. How will the tax be calculated
Tax gurus in the house, over to you Sirs and Ma'ams.
Thank you |

2zona: This nascon is jyst busting all the burbles, and Alhaji said sometime last year that salt is a small business. The industrial salt section of the company is minting good money for the company. The company gifted trucks and cash worth billions of Naira to their customers just a few days ago. They are sitting on a lot of cash. FY2025 was really good for them and 2026 is also looking like it's going to be better. The growth has been impressive. |

Mankind2024: Listen up, a whole international property lawyer learned this the hard way. Hold tight to your Ellah Lakes and Japaul Gold until 2035—crystal ball projections (and solid fundamentals) point to 10x potential from here. Discipline is the real key to joining the billion-naira gang in this forum. I learned that straight from the masters: Peter Lynch, Charlie Munger, and Warren Buffett. Motivation fades when real challenges hit, but true discipline endures. Sow good seeds today—never feel guilty about strategic diversification. Patience and time will announce your efforts far beyond what you can imagine. Do you actually mean ( literally ) the bolded or Na just sarcasm , or Na me no really get your what you intended. |

Funny enough, nobody even remember that again...... Only those that were patient, the long termers or those that bought way below 25/30 are great winners here 🏆 Sold at loss keh! Never!!! I'm very much loaded in NASCON. I've been loading NASCON since when it was 11 Naira , I loaded more during the merger. I've been loading Sugar since N6 and I loaded more during the merger. I only sold some Sugar last year and used the proceeds to load more cement at 400+ My NASCON and Cement are 5 - 10 years project, if not more . I will always do periodic review though |

Seeing a dollar trading at N1000 at the end of the year will be a thing of great delight
Curious to know how this will impact the profit of companies like PRESCO that export their products
For sure companies that import, the ones that have exposure to foreign loans and the country at large stands a lot to gain. This might be a signal to the continuation of the bullish run
May Nigeria succeed. |

awesomeJ: My highest single day NGX earnings so far:
- N2.66m - comes to about $2000 for 5 hours of work -comes to around $1m annualized pre tax earnings. - over 3 years of minimum wage in a single day - gotten with a portfolio below N50m - about 56% are already realized
- more than my monthly earnings in October and November last year when market was slow
- more than my earnings for the whole of Q1 2025
God is awesome 😎 Nice one |

awesomeJ: $150k weekly dollar sale to BDCs!!!
We just might hit 1250 soon. Awesome! A stronger Naira is a WIN for companies that import raw materials and the ones exposed to foreign loans. This will definitely make 2026 a better year for some companies. |

chimex38: Yes, you are right on the numbers thing. It's usually irrelevant on some stocks on NGX especially in the short term.
Those with favourable numbers move slowly and organically proving that numbers works.
The solution Is to find the stocks that follow the numbers and use numbers for them and apply other parameters for others as the case may be.
The perception problem also comes in play when we compare with those that defy the numbers; they move more exponentially. Making one look silly for sticking with the numbers(despite improvement)
Those with numbers don't usually beat inflation in the short term, they do when the compounding effect materialises in few years. The discipline is having the patience until that tipping point and then have relative stability. But unfortunately, our double digit high inflation and other economic challenges esp on necessities, providing ones own social amenities, etc makes it common sense to just follow the money. Spot on. This is the exact message I was trying to pass. Well said bro |
