Why is David Stern doing this? Why did he send the Sixers over to play against international competition? He continues to destroy the perception of the quality of basketball played in the USA. Jason Whitlock wrote an article about 2 months ago about how the NBA players playing in these international tournaments is actually bad business for the NBA.

I agree.

Before, people were turned off by a perception of lack of fundamental. Now, with us going over there and having NBA teams lose to international teams, they have their thoughts validated.

Please David Stern, if you are going to send over a team to market the NBA, send one over that is going to win.

Stop sacrificing the perception of the quality of the NBA for the money you will make abroad.

He doesn't carry about selling the game here anymore, he has taken it over-seas.

Laugh after he's putting up those stellar #'s in Washington, eh? Wish you've could've hung on to him. He couldn't stand to see a team lottery board.
SportsRe: Kobe Or Wade? by sharetroll(op): 3:03am On Jan 24, 2007
These are the reasons why I think Wade is the BETTER player. Wade is a great rebounder for his height. He averaged more boards than Kobe last year, despite Kobe gaining 3 inches on him.

I can't go through all your points b/c some of them are mind-boggling. But, Wade ability to play w/o the ball is why I ultimatly I favor him, not for merely being a homer. OK, Maybe I'm  a little bias

half troll/half sane
SportsRe: Kobe Or Wade? by sharetroll(op): 2:02am On Jan 24, 2007
Whether you like it or not (and I'm tired of hearing you whine about officiating in the finals), Wade got it done. He had a historic performance in those finals, averaging 35 a game. He clearly benefitted from having Shaq around and taking a lot of double teams, but he got it done, and you can't take it away from him. The road is littered with guys who gagged in those situations.
Kobe, on the other hand, quitted in the second half to just get out of the first round. And its not like he's playing with a bunch of slugs either. Odom draws his share share of defensive attention
Another reason I prefer Wade is because I tend to prefer players who don't feel the need to take too many shots. It tends to make a team function better when no one player dominates the ball too much. His ability to use Shaq effectively is also a skill in itself. I really doubt if a player with the mentality of an Kobe or an Ivy would use Shaq (not Prime Shaq, see: 2003-04 Finals) as effectively.
And overall, I just think he does more things for you on the court, including boarding.
Kobe is extremely talented, but I don't believe he is as likely to help a team win as Wade. And like I said, with Wade, its not iffa, coulda, woulda, He did it as a leader.

kobesosimi:
In fact the list would go in this order:
Wade by a landslide
followed by LBJ. then by a landslide you'll find the likes of AI and Kobe who earn many of their calls in comparison to those other 2.

I hope you won't insult me in your next response? lol.
I'm sure Wade attacks the rim more than those guys. LeBron doesn't get benefit of the doubt calls (other than travel calls) because of his physical makeup. I believe Kobe averages more FTA's. Wade averages 2 more FT's than Kobe. That 1 more foul per game, considering Wade attacks the rim much more.

Just leave it at that.
SportsRe: Kobe Or Wade? by sharetroll(op): 1:27am On Jan 24, 2007
Stick to the topic please? Why would you take Kobe other than being a homer. Give a rational and logical response, please

I did, but engaging in dialogue isn't one of your strongest areas.
So I've decided to let it slide. & ignore future elusive posts by you.
It's pretty clear that this Kobe guy is actually a disgruntled Faker fan, set on a mission to make the Fakers a nationally hated team, due to his own teams sheer ass-kicking in last years playoffs

does it hurt even that much more knowing that Caron Butler escaped Faker humiliation forever by going to the Wizards the following year? Hahahahahah

Hey, not all refs have perfect eyesight. Read my first post on this thread. I think you've are one of the proponents of conspiracy theory crap. Wade is just the type that lingers his body (like flopping) in such a way to get the beneficiery calls. Otherwise my answers to your question is utterly inexplicable.

OR

I'll make it easy,

The only way you can refute his point(s) is if you prove the fouls were illegitimate or that Wade benefits more from illegitimate fouls than his peers.
To prove Wade benefits from phantom calls more so than his peers you would have to get a random sample of games (a lot, randomly picked so that every game is as likely to be reviewed as the next game) and then watch them frame by frame, You would also have to repeat the process for other free throw attempt leaders like AI, Kobe, and LBJ,

That's the scientific method:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Scientific_method

I think we learned that in the eighth grade.

SportsRe: Strictly Nba Action! by sharetroll(m): 7:22pm On Jan 23, 2007
The fact is that last year the league enforced handcheck rules in a manner that has never been seen before. It was across the board.

That' why 9 of the top 10 scorers were wing players with the only exception being Dirk, hardly an inside force. Tell me the last time that happened.

Even more interesting, each and every one of those 9 wing players had career highs in points, including young guys like Wade and Lebron, old guys like Ivy and Ray Allen and guys in between like Kobe.

What is even more interesting, is that almost all of them had career highs in shooting percentage, excluding Kobe. Even Ivy, at this stage of his career, had a career high in points and shooting percentage.

Virtually every one of those guys also had career highs in FT attempts.

Its just the way the league enforced the handcheck rules. It benefitted every wing player.

I'll take Wade. Just an amazing player. Kobe is the 2nd best SG in the NBA, but Wade has surpassed him. Amazing all round player.
