VO: Why this school
ME: Coupled with full funding that I was offered that covers my entire cost of attendance, I chose university of Arkansas because it is one of the best universities in membrane separations. Also, there is MAST center that is dedicated for research on membrane separations and university of Arkansas has one of them.

ME: Like I said earlier, it is used not for only biological products. It is used in biofuel production and where I work now, we use it for water treatment.
VO: I can see you have been to India before. Why did you travel to India?
ME: For job training at ABC and XYZ
VO: Have you travelled to anywhere after that

Hi guys. My I-20 shows program start and end dates to be January 2021 to December 2025 (PhD). That’s roughly 4 years. On my DS-160, can I fill in ‘4 years’ as my intended length of stay in US please?
Thank you

Your intended length of stay is the length of your program as stated on your I-20.

Hello Sharon,

Please can I call you?
I really need to make my sevis payment but it seems not to go through. The column for the city isn't giving me lagos. Though I'm thinking it's school address but they didn't specify.

Could you please drop your number so I can call you?

Thank you.

You cannot make SEVIS payment within Nigeria. I guess that's why you didn't see Lagos as one of the city options. Contact Walspring to help you with that.

Hi guys, pls my appointment was cancelled last week and I haven’t gotten a new date yet. Any one in my shoes? And what’s the way forward?

Let's just be calm, I believe they want to know the situation of things before issuing out appointment dates again. Hopefully, before this week ends, everyone would have gotten their new appointment dates.

Do I need to pay my sevis fee before applying for the emergency visa interview?

It depends on what you mean by emergency interview. If it's the regular interview scheduled individually by the Lagos embassy, you can pay the SEVIS fee even after you've been given an appointment date. However, if you're referring to getting an expedited interview date, then one of the requirements is the proof of payment of the SEVIS fee.

Try another browser or network. You can use chrome with an airtel network. It works faster

Have you tried entering the receipt reference number on your CGI application for visa appointment scheduling?

Pls help me for more clarification.

on the 4/10/2020, I made a payment for my appointment but till now, no confirmation mail to proceed for the appointment booking process. I mailed the embassy, they said they were on it that ones solved, I would be notified. it is 17 days now and my school is resuming on the 13/1/2021.

My question:

pls:

1. Can I make another payment for my appointment? or I should wait till being solved.
2. Is there any penalty for making another payment?

Thanks in anticipation.

Do you have the receipt of the payment you made and is there a reference number on it?

Thanks for the input. What if Monday works out but I have already schedule an appointment for December, will it affect my interview in anyway?

I think there is no cause to worry whether your Monday appointment will canceled or not. If ever the appointment is canceled, you will still be rescheduled when the embassy resumes duty. That was stated in the cancelation mail that was sent.

Visa Approved.

My interview was by 8:00m but I got there by 5:29am. I met 6 people there already waiting and I joined them. When it was some minutes to 6am,a woman asked us why came this early and we told her some of us had appointment by 6am,she was so shocked. She said she was expecting 7am as the earliest time for appointments.
So,she took her time before she started attending to us. We were asked to line up and we did security check before we started going inside the building in 5.
The V.O denied the first two ladies. They were married and working. Only one came with her kid. The 6 people that followed were given. Two were going for undergraduate, one PhD and 3 masters. Three have started their courses online.
I was the 9th person that was attended to.
V.O :- Good morning
Me:- Good morning (I passed my passport,I-20 and SEVIS fee confirmation page).
V.O:- Where are you going?
Me:- I am going to Georgia state university for my master's degree in Chemistry.
V.O:- Why this school?
Me:- The university has a strong reputation for research, innovation and diversity, I believe it would be an exciting place to be as I would be offered varieties in (he cuts me)
V.O:- Tell me things I can not find on the school website. You are telling me things you crammed from the school website
Me:-( Looking at him without saying anything because I was so confused)
V.O:- How many schools did you apply to?
Me:- Six
V.O:- Name them
Me:- Marquette university,Texas Tech, Bowling Green, Auburn university,Ohio university and GSU.
V.O:- Did Marquette give you admission?
Me:- No
V.O:- What about Auburn and others?
Me:- Only GSU gave me admission.
V.O:- oooooh I see, Which University did you finish from?
Me:- Federal University of Technology Minna.
V.O:- Who will pay for your deficit ($15,000)
Me:- My brother
V.O:- What does he do?
Me:- He has big store where be sells food stuffs and provisions in wholesale and also.has trucks for transportation business.
V.O:- Okay(types for some minutes). I intend to approve your visa,we are having problems with our reciprocity fee payment, you will have to come back tomorrow to pay it. Thank you
Me:- You are welcome ( I was shocked when he told me thank you,I said you are welcome in reflex).
He didn't ask me for any documents.
Solihp and Iwriteng,I am joining you guys.

Congratulations dear. Success in your American dreams

Hi all, I recently scheduled my visa interview for january 4th and then a couple of days ago I got an e-mail saying that I have been offered an appointment for October 26th (I requested an emergency appointment). My problem is that for my january 4th appointment that was scheduled, my ds-160 has a fall 2020 start date (technically, I started online classes). Do I just cancel my january 4th appointment and get a new ds-160 for my October 26th appointment?

You need a new DS-160 form that has your current start date. Just login with the previous application ID and edit that part

Hello house, I have a little issue; I filled my DS-160 last week and I input every information on my data page however, the information of my passport was for the soon to expired one, now I have a new passport and the number isn't the same and that's contrary to what I was told. Now, what can I do to change the old passport number to the new one on the DS-160 I already submitted?

Just login with your current DS-160 application ID, then it will show that your application has already been submitted. Next, you will be asked whether you want to create a new application, click on that option. This will upload all the details you filled in your previous form. You can now make whatever changes you need to make. Don't forget to save your new application ID.

US Visa Approved!!!

Sent a strongly worded email with convincing points for an emergency visa appointment on Tuesday Night - 6th.

Received an email from the US embassy at 7.30am the next day - Wednesday, scheduling me for an interview on Friday at 6.30am.

Today, Woke up at 5.00am, joined hands with my sister to decree divine Favour.

Bath, dressed and booked an Uber, got to VI at 6.20am.

Went in for my interview at 7.00am

Sent back out because I did not print my DS-160 confirmation.

Rain flogged me, some soldier men even gave me umbrella my who cloth was wet.

A lady helped me to print the DS - 160 form, said I should pay her 5K, I didn’t have any money on me. Begged the lady and eventually paid 3500 outta my reciprocity fee.

Went back into the embassy.

VO: Good morning
Me: Hi, Goodmorning

VO: Pass me ur I-20 and visa and da-160 form

VO: where are u going
Me: Going to ...Ivy league school

VO: Great school, but very expensive too, how are u funding it?
Me: Received 80,000 USD in Fin Aid and taking a loan of 20K from my uncle to complete the rest.

VO: Ok, what does ur uncle do?
Me: My Uncle is a real estate developer and deals in wichtech roofing sheets.

VO: Any evidence of ur uncles ability to pay?
Me: before I could Pass him my uncles statement, he said I shouldn’t bother, he believes me.

VO: Have u travelled out before?
Me: Yes, I have been to the US, Germany France, Qatar, Kenya, Uganda...etc

VO: What did u go for?
Me: Explains

VO: Your visa has been approved, do u have the reciprocity fee?
I knew my reciprocity fee was short by 3500 but I answered yes, I did not want wahala.

VO: Go over there and pay, and enjoy ur stay in America

I go over there, praying for a miracle and the money to double...didn’t happen.
Went out and was looking for whom to borrow money from as I didn’t have my atm. One guy who just finished his interview saw me and asked what the problem was.
I told him, he then called his driver to bring money and dashed me 4K. I quickly begged him to wait for me, so I follow him and drop off at my stop.
He waited for me to pay the reciprocity fee and then told his driver to drop me off the stop close to my house.

Good luck every one

Wow. Congratulations dear! Wish you the best in your US dreams!! Hope to one day share my own testimony.

Hello all, got this yesterday while trying to login, 'your account has been frozen for suspicious activity' any solution to this?

I don't think there is a solution to that. You will just have to wait for the 72 hours to elapse to get your account back. Meanwhile, try not to attempt to login till the account is unfrozen.

I don't think it really matters where you submit your DS-160 form because I read on their website that you may submit your form at one location and then have a need to get the interview at a different location. No matter what location you choose, the VO can access your DS-160 form with you application ID.
