Festus Keyamo, the new Minister of State, for Niger Delta, has said he had being looking forward to work as a minister.

Mr Keyamo, a legal practitioner, was the director of strategic communications to the re-election campaign organisation of President Muhammadu Buhari.

There were high hope during the nomination and confirmation of the legal practitioner that he will take over from the current Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami, who has been returned to continue in the same portfolio.

Portfolios were assigned to the new ministers yesterday by Mr Buhari after they took oath of office.

Keyamo who hinted that he began his new duty with a motivational action to lead by exemplary, said he had long wanted to be a minister.

“Arrived my new office punctually this morning, which is key to motivate the workforce,” the lawyer said in a tweet on Thursday.

“It is a new challenge which I always wanted to experience. Whilst my law offices continue to run at full throttle with capable hands, I take this short leave of absence to serve my fatherland,” he added.

How this Nnamdi is able to play on these people intelligent, I really don't know. Few months ago, he publicly made a broadcast.

Nnamdi Kanu Dec 2018:Buhari is dead and long buried. The one in Aso rock is Jubrin from Sudan
The moment APC claimed that Atiku is not a Nigerian I started taking Nnamdi Kanu serious because the ruling party was relying on the claim of the IPOB leader but refused to acknowledge that the man in Aso Rock Is not the one we know because it is against them.

How can you proscribe someone and still depend on the information he is decimating to defend yourself in court? Remember this was the same man they screened and endorsed to slug out for the APC presidential candidacy in 2014 with the then Buhari.

State governors from the South-East region has dared Nnamdi Kanu, leader of Indigenous People Of Biafra (IPOB) to made good his threat and see if he will not be deported back to the country.

Mr Kanu, who heads the secessionist group demanding the restoration of the defunct Biafra Republic, threatened to unleash mayhem on political leaders from the Igbo predominantly area.

The leader of the proscribed group made the threat while claiming his group was responsible for the attack on Ike Ekweremadu, former deputy Senate President, at the weekend in Germany.

Describing the warning as an empty threat, David Umahi, Chairman of the South-East Governors Forum, dared Mr Kanu to attack any of the political leaders from the zone and see if he will not be forcefully repatriated back to the country to face his trail on treasonable felony.

“South-east governors are saddened with the ugly display and dance of shame by IPOB in Germany in attacking one of the finest leaders of Ndigbo, Senator Ike Ekweremadu. We totally condemn it as we weep for them as they never knew the implication of their naked dance in public,” the Ebonyi governor said in a statement he signed on Tuesday.

“We have also noted the empty threats by Mr Nnamdi Kanu (a former ordinary Member of MASSOB) to attack Governors of South-east, Ohanaeze leadership and other Igbo politicians for not supporting the self-acclaimed supreme leader in his self-fight for the raw power and wealth while pretending to be fighting for Ndigbo.

“We wish to warn that should any Southeast person be attacked anywhere in the world, we shall, by all means, bring back Kanu to Nigeria to face the wrath of our people. It is madness for anyone who wants raw power with no experience to think that we Governors will support the killing of our people giving out our scarce land to herdsmen.

“If Kanu is serious, let him direct IPOB to fight those foreign killer herdsmen in their countries of origin since he claims the IPOB is in over 100 countries in the world.

“If Kanu who was previously in MASSOB but needed power and money wants Biafra and he is the self-acclaimed supreme leader, let him come back home with his army and guns to lead us to battle for the empire he desire to lead other than cheap talks. Soonest Ndigbo will know him better,” the statement concluded.

By Frank Racheal - August 20, 20190

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has denied raiding the residence of Akinwumi Ambode, former Lagos State governor.

This is in reaction to social media reports that the Lagos residence of the former governor was raided by the anti-graft agency.

“We need to state for the records that the EFCC did not raid Ambode’s house. It is instructive that his administration, like other former governors is under investigation, since they no longer constitutionally enjoy immunity against prosecution,” the EFCC said in a statement published on its Facebook page.

“The Commission hereby states with high sense of responsibility that the operatives did not raid Ambode’s residence.

“Our operations are always covert until at a time when we file charges in court.
Therefore, the attempt to cast the Commission in a bad light is unacceptable as the EFCC will never engage in illegal act. We remain committed to the war against corruption,” the statement added.

Ike Ekweremadu, former deputy Senate President, has revealed why he was attacked in a foreign land by suspected members of the Indigenous People Of Biafra (IPOB).

Mr Ekweremadu, a federal lawmaker representing Enugu West at the Nigerian Senate was assaulted at the weekend when he went to participate in a cultural festival of Igbo extraction in Germany.

Those who attacked him said they did so because of his refusal to speak up on insecurity bedeviling Enugu State. The domain where the lawmaker hails from has recently witnessed a spike in criminal activities ranging from kidnappings, killings among others.

Nnamdi Kanu, leader of the aggrieved attackers while weighing in on the matter said the action of his men was because the politician helped in ensuring IPOB was proscribed despite their non-violent approach of the group initially.

Mr Kanu thereafter advised leaders from the geo-political zone not to henceforth embark on any foreign trip for their own safety.

Addressing journalist while returning from Germany on Monday, Ekweremadu said those who attacked him did so because they were under the influence of alcohol.

“I think they were just people who were misdirected and misguided. I had the feeling they were under the influence of alcohol. They don’t represent the feelings of our people. There is nothing to worry about,” Uche Anichukwu, media aide to the lawmaker quoted his principal to have said.

“What we will do in this circumstance is to leave him (Kanu) to his conscience, the verdict of history, and possibly the repercussions of ingratitude. But I hope he won’t go to the extent of attacking any of the South East leaders anywhere.”

Ekweremadu also said those who invited him for the occasion has apologized for the embarrassment, leaving the Nigerian government and their German counterparts to take whatever action they wish to take.

“The organisers, the Igbo in Germany, have written a letter apologising for what happened. Everybody is free to go anywhere because those ones don’t represent the behaviour of Nigerians abroad.

“For me, I have moved on. The government and authorities of Germany are free to do whatever they wish about it,” he was quoted as saying in the statement.

He also advised South East leaders to go about their business and discard the threat of the secessionist leader.

Meanwhile, a former federal lawmaker has suggested security steps public office holders are to take should they be invited for engagement outside the shores of the country.

Ekweremadu: Shehu Sani lists 4 safety steps public office holders should take when invited abroad

It is no longer news that Ike Ekweremadu, a former deputy Senate President, was assaulted when he attended a cultural festival in Germany at the weekend.

Mr Ekweremadu was attacked by members of the Indigenous People Of Biafra (IPOB) for allegedly contributing to proscribe the group demanding an independent state of Biafra.

After the tussle, the leader of the secessionist group, Nnamdi Kanu, said the treatment meted out to the Enugu-born lawmaker was a far cry from what his group plan to do to other leaders from the geo-political zone.

Advising public office holders on security measures to take whenever they are invited abroad for engagement, Shehu Sani, a former federal lawmaker, listed four points they must take to ensure their safety.

Mr Sani advised the public office holders to turn down any invitation abroad if their security is not guaranteed.

“My Advice to public office holders; Whenever you are invited abroad take the following steps; Call Abike Dabiri to verify, Call Farooq Kperogi to attest, Call the embassy to vet, Send your protocol staff to cross check; If no green light, just chill at home,” the former lawmaker said in a tweet Monday.

While Mrs Dabiri who heads Nigerians in Diaspora Commission condemned the attack, saying the culprits have been arrested, Mr Kanu said none of the members of his group who staged the attack has been apprehended.

By Daniel Ayinime - August 19, 2019

The Indigenous People Of Biafra (IPOB) has warned four state governors from the South-East region not to embark on foreign trips if they don’t want to be attacked by members of the proscribed group.

The warning was issued by the leader of the secessionist group, Nnamdi Kanu, while broadcasting to the world on Sunday through Radio Biafra.

Members of secessionist group calling for an independent state of Biafra Republic, on Saturday, assaulted a former deputy Senate President, Ike Ekweremadu, when he visited Germany for a function.

Mr Enugu-born federal lawmaker had no option than to run away for his dear life when members of IPOB stormed the gathering and attacked him.

Mr Kanu while issuing the warning said five members of the group has been selected in each country of the world to spearhead the attack on leaders of the South-East seen in any foreign land.

He also placed one million naira as bounty for anyone with any useful travel itinerary that will aid the tracking down of the leaders.

Although, there are five state governors from the geo-political zone, the group excluded one state governor from its list of those penciled down for attack elsewhere aside Nigeria.

The four others in the list includes: Dave Umahi (Ebonyi), Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi (Enugu), Okezie Ikpeazu (Abia) and Willie Obiano (Anambra).

Excluded in the list is Emeka Ihedioha, the state governor of Imo State, which is one of the states in the Igbo predominantly area.

Meanwhile, TODAY POLITICS gathered that Mr Ihedioha, who succeeded Rochas Okorocha who is now a federal lawmaker, was probably excluded because he was not in power when his counterparts from the region gave their support for the proscription of IPOB two years ago.

Meanwhile, Mr Umahi who heads the South East Governors Forum has dismissed the warning of the secessionist group, describing it as an empty threat.

“They have no spread and power to do so, because they cannot see any governor to attack,” the Ebonyi governor said in a press statement signed by his Chief Press Secretary, Emmanuel Uzor.

Steer clear of any foreign country, Nnamdi Kanu warns Igbo govs, leaders, Army chief Buratai

Nnamdi Kanu, leader of the Indigenous People Of Biafra (IPOB) has warned leaders of the Igbo tribe in the country to steer clear from traveling to any foreign country henceforth.

Mr Kanu gave the warning on Sunday while speaking on the recent assault meted out on former deputy Senate President, Ike Ekweremadu, in Germany.

Mr Ekweremadu had gone to the foreign country to celebrate the new yam festival of Igbo residents there. On his arrival, persons suspected to be members of the proscribed group assaulted, dragged and chased him out of the venue for the occasion.

Those been warned to steer clear from foreign scenes if they do not want to be embarrassed includes; states governors from the South-East region, Igbo leaders including the President-General of Ohanaeze, Nnia Nwodo, federal lawmakers from the zone excluding Senator Enyinnaya Abaribe.

Mr Abaribe was one of those who stood in as sureties for the secessionist leader who was tried for treason but has now jumped bail.

The warning was also handed down to Tukur Buratai, the incumbent Chief of Army Staff of the Nigerian Army.

The absconder who ran away when his home was raided two years ago by the military also offered one million naira to anyone with useful travel itinerary to track down those listed above.

“So if you are working in any Government House in Southeast and you know which city in the world your governor is going to be, inform us so that we will mobilise for him and you will be rewarded with N1 million,” Premium Times quoted him as saying during his Sunday 87 minutes broadcast where he vowed that the attack on leaders of the zone will continue because they played a vital role in helping to proscribe IPOB.

“They and not the Federal Government of Nigeria proscribed IPOB.

“They said they proscribed IPOB to douse rising tension in the region. What caused the tension, because the military raided my house in Umuahia.

“We have nominated five persons each in every country or the world who are ready to be arrested and be jailed for this purpose. Many of us have been killed so what is there in going to jail”, he added.

He said Mr Ekweremadu was attacked because he had not condemn insecurity bedeviling the region.

“He went to celebrate New Yam Festival in Germany when his people are being killed and our women being raped. Where did they get the new yam because there is none in Igboland since all the farmlands have been destroyed by herdmen”.

Kanu also praised the outspokenness of Mr Abaribe and Femi Fani-Kayode, describing them as those who speak truth to power.

Politics › Atiku Reacts To Secret Burial Of 1,000 Nigerian Soldiers Fighting Boko Haram by sharpden(op): 2:34pm On Aug 01, 2019
Atiku Abubakar, the 2019 presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has reacted to the reported secret burial of about 1000 Nigerian soldiers.

The report published by an international news medium, World Street Journal, and perused by TODAY POLITICS, said personnel of the Nigerian Army waging war against terrorists, in the Northeast region of the country, were being buried secretly in a bid to cover deadly offensive by Boko Haram terrorists.

“Several of my comrades were buried in unmarked graves at night,” the news medium quoted a soldier from the Maimalari barracks, where more than 1,000 soldiers are based. “They are dying and being deleted from history.”

Reacting to the report, the former vice president commiserated with families of those who lost their loved ones.

The PDP candidate, who is challenging the outcome of the election in which he lost to President Muhammadu Buhari, also called for a probe into the reported incident.

“I read the report by the Wall Street Journal that over a thousand Nigerian soldiers have been secretly buried at night by the General Muhammadu Buhari led administration, in order to hide the true state of the war on terror, with a sense of heartbreak and shock,” the politician said in a statement he signed on Thursday.

“Heartbreak for the families and friends of those soldiers, who, if the report is true, have lost their loved ones, without being allowed to bury them or even to have any sense of closure as regards their fate.

“Shock, that such a thing could happen under a democracy, such as Nigeria is supposed to be. I shudder to think that the cover-up of such an event of epic proportions can be true.

“The men and women of our armed forces are our first, second and last defence against our domestic and foreign enemies and should be treated with love, respect, dignity and appreciation for the invaluable service they render to Nigeria.

I cannot fathom that in the space of a year, 1000 of these great patriots were killed and buried secretly without their families being told. I hesitate to believe that deceit on such a grand scale is even possible.

“To ensure that we get to the bottom of this matter, I urge that a Judicial Commission of Inquiry headed by a non-partisan and reputable jurist, be inaugurated to investigate the findings of the Wall Street Journal.

“While this is occurring, I also strongly urge that a panel of inquiry comprising of distinguished former military officers be set up to investigate and report to Nigerians the true state of the war on terror and what must be done to ensure Nigeria brings a speedy end to the ongoing insurgency.

“Nigeria must ensure prudent use of finances, so we can redistribute national resources in such a way that ensures that our military and security forces are well armed and well remunerated.

“Even the death of one soldier affects me. But the alleged cover-up of the deaths of one thousand soldiers is a national emergency that should shock all statesmen and leaders of thoughts into action to save Nigeria,” the former number two citizen popularly known as Atiku added.
