PoliticsNwuche Commends Senators For Passage Of Electoral Bill by sharpillo(op): 4:32pm On Oct 14, 2021
NWUCHE COMMENDS SENATORS FOR PASSAGE OF ELECTORAL BILL

~ Urges Federal House of Representatives to do likewise

Hon. Prince Chibudom Nwuche a former deputy speaker of the Federal House of Representatives has commended the members of the senate on the passage of the amended electoral act that empowers INEC to decide on the utilization of electronic transmission of results. He also commended them for amending the electoral act to mandate direct primaries for political parties.
He noted that the foundation of any democratic nation is free, fair and credible elections. Candidates that emerge through a free, fair and credible elections are more likely to work in the interest of the masses and help the country achieve rapid economic development, especially in this challenging times of the global covid pandemic that has made Nigeria witness a decline in her economy.

He also opined that the electronic transmission of results would avoid the violence often witnessed at elections, especially at the point of manual collation of votes where thugs are deployed to chase away voters and manipulate the results. He further commended the courage of the Senate in revisiting those provisions which the masses of Nigeria had commented against.

He maintained that “part of the reason why many professionals often do not venture into politics is the fear that the votes of the masses will not count even if they voted, and the needless violence and manipulation that has become synonymous with elections. That often some of those who are eventually announced in this flawed process are not the ones preferred by the voters, especially in party primaries where god fathers impose unpopular candidates on hapless members”.

Manipulations has also led to apathy on the part of some youths and the voting populace who feel that their votes won’t count, and decide not to vote, and some to sell their votes for a pittance on the day of election.
He urged the House of Representatives to also do likewise and confirm the amendments so that Nigerians can have renewed confidence in the electoral system and turn out in mass to elect the right candidates that will change the fortune of our country and bequeath a better country to the younger generation.
“Good, productive and people oriented governance begins on a foundation of free, fair and credible elections, where the votes of the masses is the only pathway to leadership” he maintained.

Speaking further, Comr. She lamented the experiences of several ladies whose proposed suitors scamp for the alternative after been presented with the marriage list and processes, this she says has been a heavy burden to Akoh Young Ladies. The high point of the visit was the presentation of portrait to His Majesty.

Lord Echendu Ndubuisi, an Ikwerre born oil and gas mogul and philanthropist based in the United Kingdom (UK) has championed a call to the governor of Rivers State His Excellency Chief (Barr) Ezenwo Nyesom -Wike CON, GSSRS, POS (Africa) for the appointment of MISS NENGI IGBECHI NWUCHE who hails from Ochigba community in Ahoada East Local Government Area, Rivers State.

Nengi is the daughter of late influencial king of the Upata Kingdom in Ekpeye Ethnic Nationality, His Royal Highness Eze Clifford Cheta Nwuche, the father of the former Deputy Speaker of the Federal House of Representatives Rt. Hon. Chibudon Nwuche OFR, Esama Ekpeye Logbo.

According to the youths, Miss Nengi has been selfless and philanthropic as she helps people without knowing them, carries out steady community development projects without sponsorship, pays the widows and aged in her community with her little earnings, carries out free seminars for youths and adolescents.

It is believed that from her high but humble background, and with her level of operations in personal fund, if given an opportunity to serve Rivers Youths in any capacity the governor deem fit, the narratives will change.

Wike needs such a brain Engr. Echendu added!

USMC FROWNS OVER RECURRENT ATTACK ON UPATA MONARCH CUM EKPEYE REGENT

~ Warns detractors to desist forthwith

The attention of the apex social media crew in Orashi region; Upata Social Media Crew (USMC) has been drawn to the recent Social Media attacks on the Monarch of Upata Kingdom, who doubles as the Regent to the Stool of Eze Ekpeye Logbo, HRM Nye Udu Felix Enene Otuwarikpo Ph.D, JP, AP, FNIR, Nye-Udu Igbu Upata III of Upata Kingdom.

It is shocking and worrisome that despite the public declaration by the Regent that he is not nurturing interest to contest the Stool of Eze Ekpeye, some desperadoes who feed from crisis would still sponsor unpatriotic parrots in human form, who biologically and intellectually lack the moral right to discuss Ekpeye kingship, to malign our King.

However, the high interest displayed by antagonists is not astonishing but, it assist to lay bare the microscopic, myopic and amoebic elements who via personal hatred, raised their quest to clinch the Stool of Eze Ekpeye through the backyard. They resort to blackmail and negative instigation. Their fear can be attributed to the intimidating profile of the Upata monarch. Though, not enough to trigger such potential disaffection among the Kingdoms in Ekpeye, and it is by this note that USMC grossly condemn in its entirety the continued attack against HRM Nye-Udu Otuwarikpo, while categorically stating as follows:

1. That no one irrespective of status, rank, particularly the uninformed, homosapienic, misguided and low moral miscreants should misconstrue our protracted silence for cowardice or compromise, and therefore, should not take advantage of the "Regency" as an avenue to undermine the Throne of the Upata people and the person of King Felix Enene Otuwarikpo, as his breed in the traditional institution in the state and nation remain rare.

2. That an attack on the Nye Udu Otuwarikpo remains an attack on the ancient throne of Upata and the entire Upata people. That the Upata people have always steered clear from issues not related to Upata and would never interfere with crisis in other kingdoms, we will resist any other attack on our heritage.

3. That no USMC member, no son or daughter of Upata has on social media demeaned other Kings or Leaders the way youths of other Kingdoms in Ekpeyeland demean, ridicule and insult our revered Monarch. There must be a stop to this ugly episode; we will retaliate in fold if it continues no matter who will be affected.

4. Note, USMC still reserves and parades the most enlightened and sophisticated social media armours in Ekpeye with the capacity to launch devastating attack on any individual and office if pushed to the wall, but still minding the fact that there is a saying that goes, "you don't argue with a fool, lest he drag you down to his level".

5. That we will never hesitate to respond with equivalent arsenal if not more severe, should the classified elements persist in their attack on our God-given king. Upata people are very respectful. Yes, our king may not be 100% perfect, but we will no longer tolerate further insults on our traditional Head from the unscrupulous elements who call themselves Social Media activists extremely loyal to those who want to cause disaffection in Ekpeye.

Therefore, we are advising fellow youths who are bent at insulting our King on the social space to desist but, should search for a legitimate means of bettering their lives.

We call on Leaders,at every level, to rein-in their attack dogs or, we will all dance naked.

Ameketuni.

Long Live Ekpeye Ethnic Nation!

Press Statement

Malami Has Desecrated his Office and Must Resign.

We at the Southern Leadership Conference (SLC) were not in the least surprised or shocked by the utterences of the Nigerian Minister of Justice and Attorney-general of the Federation (AGF) Abubakar Malami while expressing his objection to the ban by the country’s Southern governors on open grazing, given his demonstrated primodial pro-Fulani chauvinism over time.

We are only perturbed that in betraying his ethnic bias, he threw caution to the winds and not only betrayed and Desecrated his oath and responsibilities as the Chief Law officer of the federstion, but embarrassed Nigeria in the comity of nation's.

Mr Malami on had Wednesday likened the ban on open grazing in the southern region of Nigeria to the constitutional right of free movement of citizens.

The AGF also compared the ban on open grazing to Northern governors banning spare parts trading in their own region as Southerners comprise a majority of spare parts traders in the North.

The Southern Leadership Conference notes that it is hypocritical of Mr Malami to link a ban on open grazing to the constitutional right to the free movement of persons.

It is disingenuous to link a ban on open grazing to the constitutional right to the free movement of persons. The latter does not extend to the free movement of cattle, goats, sheep etc through farms with the attendant destruction of somebody’s harvest,

Equating the activities of nomadic herdsmen destroying peoples’ means of livelihood with others legitimately carrying on businesses by selling spare parts in their shops stands logic on its head.

Any public officer who cannot rise above primordial sentiments and pursue a parochial ethnic agenda need not occupy a position of trust especially at this time of sectional agitations. It was not dignifying of the status of the nation’s attorney-general and minister of justice to make such remarks.

We advice those who have no meaningful contributions to national discourse operating on the basis of equity and justice to keep quiet and stop kindling the already burning fire of ethnic disharmony in the country.

On a balance sheet, the country on all indicators is prostrate. Not too long ago, it earned the unenviable position of the world capital of poverty; the economy is on a free fall without productivity while the government is mopping loans from wherever it is available. The dire nature of the economy has now led recently to quantitative easing, i.e., the printing of paper money not backed by productivity. Upon this, through complex contrivances, the country has been taken over by new militarism, i.e., armed non-state actors with consequent impact on the free movement of law-abiding citizens and the crippling of farming activities across the country. The overall impact has engendered a situation in which the component nationalities, in other words, the peoples of this country agitating for separation. To the blunt, the country is collapsing under a rudderless leadership that is part of the problem.

Be that as it may, beneficiaries of the present decadent system, like Malami, would perhaps never desire a change. Without a doubt, the call for re-federalising Nigeria is not to be ignored if we desire to keep the country together.

The issues the southern governors raised are the issues that have canvassed variously ifor several years, by all patriots and lovers if Nigeria, namely, fiscal and institutional restructuring of the Nigerian state in ways that devolve power in the component units of the Nigerian state.

The Southern Leadership Conference, support the actions of the governors. It is a right step in the right direction. We insist that it should not be discarded in deference to blackmail from the perpetrators of the backward state of affairs in the country who are incurable loafers who contribute nothing to the national coffers.

Southern Leadership Conference wishes to re-emphasize that Nigeria’s unity is only feasible on the basis of justice, fairness, and equity and only federalism can guarantee that.

Group Condemns Targeting of Southern Leaders in the guise of Fighting Corruption.
...Condemns the Continued Demonization of James Ibori, others.

A group the Southern Leadership Conference had raised alarm over what it termed the selective targeting of Southern Leaders by the northern controlled anti corruption agencies in the guise of Fighting Corruption.

The group in a statement noted that " It is not a coincidence that all the sensational "corruption trails" witnessed in the country, since the exit of the military in 1999, has always caught Southerners as the fall guys".

According to the group what masqurades as a war against corruption is an ochestrated political war of attrition against the minorities and the south.

"It is still not another coincidence that no northerner of Hausa-Fulani has been arraigned let alone be convicted for any corrupt act. Abubakar Bagudu, Magu, Malami, Babachair Lawal, Ganduje etc have proven cases of corrupt acts against them, but we are yet to see them get the same treatment that was given to Dieziani Madueke, Olisah Metuh, James Ibori, D.S.P. Alamiesigha etc', the group disclosed.

"Those who have always believed that southerns cannot and should not be allowed to become too powerful in the politics of the country, has spared no energy in the ochestrated campaign to demonize Chief Ibori, and use that as a warning to all the political heavy weights in the South", the group said.

Press Statement
Ibori and the Burden of the Minorites of Southern Nigeria.

The announced return of the 4.2 million pounds so called Ibori loot, allegedly recovered from former governor of Delta State, Chief James Onanafe Ibori, his family members and assicuates, has once more become a cause celebre for bashing of the, former governor and the minorities of the Niger Delta.

As is usual with such ochetrated media trials and bashing of leading political lights from the south of Nigerian, more emotion has been invested into the swirling debate than reasoning.

Those who have always believed that southerns cannot and should not be allowed to become too powerful in the politics of the country, has spared no energy in the ochestrated campaign to demonize Chief Ibori, and use that as a warning to all the political heavy weights in the South.

It is not a coincidence that all the sensational "corruption trails" witnessed in the country, since the exit of the military in 1999, has always caught Southerners as the fall guys.

It is still not another coincidence that no northerner of Hausa-Fulani has been arraigned let alone be convicted for any corrupt act. Alamiesigha etc.

What masqurades as a war against corruption is an ochestrated political war of attrition against the minorities and the south.

Is it not strange that out of all the governor who served between 1999 to 2007, it was only selected governors from the south specifucally James Ibori, Lucky Igbedion, and Diepriye Alamiesiegha of blessed memory were singled out for humiliation.

Southern leaders like James Ibori and Diepreye Alamiesiegha were fearless, bold and courageous and spoke truth to power, and they paid dearly for it. They were persecuted for their independent-mindedness. They were treated differently from other past governors of thier era because they chose to improve the lot of thier people and the Niger Delta region instead of bootlicking.

We at the SLC are still at a loss why the Czars of anti corruption has not turned their attention to the systematic looting and pillaging of the Niger Delta by Northern political and business elites through the criminal and fraudulent allocation of oil wells to themselves and cronies, as was seen during the recent bidding for marginals fields in the region.

We are not opposed to genuinely fighting corruption as we believe that corruption is the equivalent of genocide, but we are opposed to pretending to fight corruption selectively with the political objective of perpetual subjugation of a particular people and region, in this instant case, the South South. Political leaders of the region has been intimidated and hounded out relevance to the economic and political advantage of the north.

This narrative of turning the leading lights of the sought into political ogres through bogus and pseudo corruption allegations must stop.

Nairaland GeneralRivers Community To Sue Timipre Sylva, Others Over Sale Of Margina Oil Field by sharpillo(op): 8:03am On May 25, 2021
Rivers Community Threaten to Sue Timipre Sylva, others over Sale of Marginal Oil Field.
...Cries Out To Wike to intervene

Reports reaching out news desk indicate that Emohua community in Rivers State may be getting ready to drag the Minister of State for Petroleum, Chief Timipre Sylva, Sarki Auwulu, DPR Executive Director and Mamman Daura, to court to stop the sale of the Emohua Marginal Oil Field.

Community sources hinted that they have also cried out to the Rivers State governor to urgently intervene to stop sale of the oil well to little known Omega-Butler Limited, which they alleged is a front for some Northerners with the participation of the community.

The community acting through a non-governmental organisation, wrote, "We call on our indefatigable Rivers State Governor, His Excellency, Chief Barr. Ezenwo Nyesom Wike, urgently rise up in defence of Rivers interest and prevent this travesty of justice and the continuous enslavement of his people".

Recall that recently the Ministry of Petroleum Resources conducted a bidding process for 58 Marginal Fields in the Niger Delta. The exercise was riddled with allegations of bribery and lack of trsnsperency.

Below is rest of the statement issued by the community.

Text of a press Statement on the surreptitious sale of Emohua oil field during the just concluding bidding process for marginal fields, to the exclusion of community and state interests.

Gentlemen of the press. We have invited you here today to protest a grave and historical injustice against our people.

As you must all be aware, recently, the bidding round for the sale of marginal fields across the Niger Delta was conducted by the Ministry of Petroleum Resources under the direct supervision of the Minister of state for Petroleum Resources, Chief Timipre Sylva.

Unfortunately and countrary to the spirit and letters of the Petroleum Industry Bill, scant regard was given to community interest, either through direct sale of the oil well to the community or through the equity participation of the community in the companies bidding for the oil field.

Our Investigations has shown that the Nigerian Marginal Field bidding round is predicated on three main premises:

The fields are awarded only to Nigerian companies, so it is a tool for boosting the Nigerian content, the government’s much-vaunted policy of domiciliation. It is the only bid round in the world predicated on the strength of technical argument and not on the price indicated by some highest bidder. It derives legitimacy from the idea that the discoveries may never get to production because the majors, on whose operated acreages the fields lie, consider their reserves uneconomic.

As is usual with matters concerning the Niger Delta and oil communities, policy frameworks and objectives were turned on their heads with impunity.

Out of the partial list of the 28 winners of the marginal fields on sale, none was given to or factored in the interest of the oil communities or local businesses.

In the instant case of the Emohua marginal field, neither the interest of the community or businesses in the state was considered, as the oil field was sold to an unknown company called Omega-Butler allegedly fronting for northern political interests.

The following questions therefore arises: (1)Is the community that suffers all the impact of environmental degradation, allergic to participation in the downstream of the oil sector? (2) Are there no Rivers owned businesses that could have individually or collectively bidder for the marginal field? (3) Why was the Rivers State government not approached to bid for the marginal field on behalf of the people of the state?

That a few marginal fields were awarded to fronts of the Minister of Petroleum, Chief Timi Sylva, does not equat with community participation.

It is sad and regratable that Timipre Sylva, should allow the perpetration of the further enslavement of Niger Deltans on the alter of his selfish political ambitions.

Of what benefit is Sylva's appointment as a Minister to the region if he continues to collude with northerners to defraud and enslave the Niger Delta? It is unfortunate and regratable that we have characters like Sylva, purpoting to be representing the region.

Contrary to the objectives of the policy on awards of marginal fields, which is to empower oil bearing communities and encourage indegenous participation in the downstream of the oil industry, Sylva has further entrenched the exclusion of Niger Deltans from the nation's oil industry.

We call on our indefatigable Rivers State Governor, His Excellency, Chief Barr. Ezenwo Nyesom Wike, urgently rise up in defence of Rivers interest and prevent this travesty of justice and the continuous enslavement of his people.

We equally call the attention of President Mihamadu Buhari to this backhanded scheme by the Minister of State for Petroleum, to short change the people of Emohau and Rivers State from benefiting and have a say in their good given oil resources.

WE DEMAND THE OUTRIGHT CANCELATION of the award process, as it is sacandalous, immoral and rife with bribery.

We will not fold our hands and watch them come to our land to take our oil. We will stop them by all legal means.

Thank you and God bless you.

Signed.

Former Deputy Speaker House of Representatives, Hon. (Prince) Chibudom Nwuche has commended southern Governors for taking a common positon on the vexed issues of grazing, state policing and restructuring at their recent meeting in Asaba, hosted by the Delta State Governor, Ifeanyi Okowa. He maintained that this will indeed enhance national unity, equity, justice and fair play amongst the component parts of Nigeria.

He also commended the northern Governors for the various meetings they have been holding to strenghten the unity of the North and to chart a common course for northern region. He advised the Governors to now call a joint meeting of the northern and southern governors to take a common position in the interest of the progress of Nigeria, since their seperate resolutions on most of the vexed issues including security, state policing, restructuring, equity & justice, etc., are similar. He added that the governors by virtue of their respective mandates as the chief executives of the component parts of our federation are indeed pivotal for initiating progressive change that can further cement our unity, give fillip to our economy, spur development that will create jobs for our youth, drastically reduce unemployment, and pull our country back from the current crisis.

Nwuche also commended Gov.
