Elueme: Gbam! We celebrate mediocrity so well in Nigeria. I took time to watch the last 10 minutes of that interview on U-tube and would say the man in question didn't do badly with the exception of the website aspect where though glaringly clear he didn't know it but was trying to outsmart those young and hot blooded presenters who took him to the mud. Everybody ain't so complaint with ICT , so it would be callous to suspend him on that error, but that aside he caught me as somebody who knew his job and is proud of it.

I cant beleive that such no of nigerians will go through this write up and interprete it out of context,its shamefull ,the quality of education in nigeria.back to the topic first,wrong headline.secondly,when the president said he is strugling to build his house in the village,strugling in this context means putting effort,effort is both mentally ,finacially etc.thirdly,he is saying with respect to what we should put much of our efforts in doing to help majority of people,he said his children may decide nt to even care abt his village in the future,so it would become a waste .that we should channel our effort in more humanitarian activities rather than personal ones.i will stop for now .God Bless Nigeria.

governors go to state prisons and give amnesty to prisoners without questions - why can't GEJ pardon anyone he wants? he's the commander in chief of the federal republic of nigeria. he has the constitutional right to pardon anyone including clifford orji!

eldoradoxx: All over the world worst criminals than Alamieseghia are pardoned for even worst offences than corruption. U see, advanced democracies do not put there rich and powerful men in prison or tag them "ex convicts". Because it is better for the country and economy that these men are left free to help the political and economic process. Imagine what Nigeria stands to loose in jailing a Dangote or Adenuga or Ifeanyi Uba or Otedola or Cosmos Maduka etc. Just name them. Alamieseghia has been a major factor in the amnesty issue and the relative stability in Niger Delta today. During his travail was when the militancy went to the highest level dropping oil production to mere 700 thousand barrels. While he was Governor, he knew all the militants, he had their confidence, he visited them at their hideouts far inside the creeks without any security details. Secured release of white hostages etc. Out of office, he stil has great relevance in stability in Niger Delta as a whole. So if his price is mere presidential pardon, I don't think its too expensive. It has always been my firm bbelieve that even in America, Britain etc , as holy and corrupt free as they want us to believe, some criminals are stil left unarrested, some people stil walk free with serious offencesn some people are stil granted state pardon for murder because exigencies of the moment dictates so. so atimes political cum economic exigencies do occur that can force a leader take critical decisions that re unpopular but for the interest of us all in the long run. thelastPope: This is a fact and it isn't new. Go and check all the news and even threads on NL dating back as much as 3 to 4 years and you will see it clearly. Alameisegha was the biggest factor behind the Niger Delta amnesty.

Whether you agree that that is enough for him to get pardon is another debate entirely. But it is a known fact that Alameseigha was the man that got the militants to drop their arms and accept amnesty. He still remains a respected leader because of what he did for those guys over the years.

You will be fooolish to expect that those youths will throw him under the bus because of his corruption case when he has really helped them for years.
