Yu obviously lack adequate understanding about what a reform is. Back then, we were living a fake life, our GDP was padded, the country was in a mess, Nigeria was a dumping ground, local industries was killed, FG was borrowing to pay workers salaries, Military capacity was below standards, Reserves was being depleted, refineries were moribund YET Government was paying subsidy on fuel, electricity and on naira.. While the Government was borrowing to pay for these subsidies, trying to please the people, our reserves was being depleted to an all time low to an extent our credit ratings was negative and foreign creditors had stopped giving us loans. Our crude oil was sold in advance just to keep getting money for subsidy. The economy was bleeding but the masses were ignorant. They only cared about what they eat even if everything collapsed. Like I said earlier, the major factor aggravating the issue is purely a human factor caused by banditry/ terrorism which drives up food prices.
Currently, the financial health of the country is gradually improving which has trickled down to the states having more funds to execute projects and paying back their loans. Pessimists will only bother about what they see now and what they put in their stomach but progressives care more about the future and the overall wellbeing of the economy.

what I am saying is this, you can't say the yoruba people are more accommodating, maybe my comparing Benin to the entire south west is the reason you misunderstood my argument, now in Benin for example I know lots of people from akwa ibom , there are urhobo, itsekhiri folks from rivers, northerners even from niger and then you have the igbos and the yoruba, now you can't mention any state in Southwest aside Lagos who has more percentage of it's population, who aren't from the state more than Edo state, you can't use the region argument either by claiming urhobo and akwa ibom are south- south so their population in Edo does not count as foreigners, because when we talk about accommodating people in Nigeria the criteria is usually ethnic rather than regional or geo- political, how can you talk about yoruba being more accommodating either when every now and then there is always issues between you and other ethnic groups, either you are telling them not to vote in your land, or you are angry when a teenage boy is a beneficiary or something as little as a jamb form being purchase, or when a land is being bought or resident who aren't yoruba just complain about basic civil issues, ask yourself how often do you hear this news from other non southwest states. Edo had an election recently I came across a guy who is an APC supporter of okphebolo, most folks in that gathering were supporters of Asue ighodalo, and this APC supporter was from Delta yet no body told him to go back to his state to vote for his choice.
