My major concern is why does Peter Obi feel that the police there was gross miss use of power by the police??

Dele should Defend himself…. Simple and short
is it in a police station that you defend yourself or in a courtroom, the police always getting involved is the missuse of power.

you don't support disrespect yet you all hailed bayo onanuga when he called obasnjo an expired milk, who were the same people who insulted the living day light out of pa Ayo adebanjo for supporting obi.

This your analysis is spot on. I do not believe in the definition of betrayal as in the instance you gave. That's flawed loyalty supporters show to politicians. It also has some tribal undertone. I only called him a betrayal because of his many battles with those who helped him to rise. I believe there were some agreement in place which he agreed to before he was supported. Weather these agreements were right or wrong is a matter for another day. He reneged on them once he got what he wanted. He did it to APC and again in PDP. He is courageous but in Nigeria where politics is about feeding fat on the common patrimony by party chieftains.. those who invested in his election will feel betrayed. That's why I called him a betrayal....and he does not know when to draw the line like in the case of the Oba. I also know obaseki is not a career politician that's why he did most of the things he did. We need more non career politicians like him and Sim Fubara so that Godfathers will cease to exist in Nigeria politics.

I have gone through your post and have seen that you have a soft spot for obaseki. He did well generally in governance but his way of playing politics is too arrogant and self destructive. I like him too and actually wanted him to win but you are allowing your likeness for him to overshadow his short coming. You want to potray him as a saint When you know he is flawed in his relationship with people around him. When a particular issues keep happening between one person and several people..then it is time to look inward. Obaseki might have his own conviction but his antecedents will not inspire anyone to take a chance on him in future. Separate emotional attachment from your view of him and you will see how power drunk he was. For instance...in the issue of the Oba concerning the returned artefacts..what was he trying to prove? Apart from showing that he has the power to hold on to those items? The problem with the way we play our politics is that once we like someone...we feel they can never be wrong. Just answer this simple question... do you think any party will support someone like obaseki for any political position again? Be frank with yourself.

And a little advice for you....Learn to outline your opinions without littering it with insultive words. It makes no difference to your argument apart from brewing bitterness
I apologise if my comment may appear insultive, my take on obaseki is this, I want issues about him to be judged singular in the case with the palace I think he was wrong on that, that's just it, now just because he was wrong on that does not for me serve as a justification to just about any accusation from any other individual, let me be practical a bit, when they talk about obaseki and the betrayal thing they talk about how he betrayed his deputy, but for me that wasn't betrayal at all shaibu governorship ambition was wrong and unfair to edo central, how then did he betray shaibu, I am non partisan as it relates to politics I know he has quite a long list of aggrieved person's even in his party, yes maybe he has a character flaw, I just have a problem with the narrative that sometimes folks ,most especially Apc folks use to gaslight the masses by making folks like shaibu, oshiomhole, wike to look like victims, they will tell you osinbajo betrayed Tinubu, by running for president, igbos betray Tinubu by not voting for him in the last ekection, if you live in Lagos and you do not support Tinubu or Apc then you are a betrayer, the word betrayer as it relates to Nigerian politics for me just sounds like a word used to justify slavery and gaslight individuals against having personal ambition or say against a suppose godfather, the same issue is playing out in Rivers State you see how fubara is getting lots of support, against wike, but there are certain folks who desperately try to paint wike as the victim. In context when you look at the US elections Joe Biden wanted to run for a second term, George clonney met with Obama, and Obama applied pressure on Biden to drop out of the race, due to Biden health and poor debatethis is the same Biden who was vice to Obama, Americans and democrats never said how Obama betrayed biden, because Obama's concern was fair and valid.

MR man.. you are missing the point. In politics everyone makes concession. He left APC in acrimonious circumstances...same thing happened in PDP where he divided the party. Even his deputy who put his polical career on the line for him during his travails with APC ...what did he repay him with? If one person keep having problems with everyone else..does it mean he is always right? And you think everyone will have the time to come out and say he did something t o them? The man is a serial betrayal. He is a bad politician. I have nothing against him because I think he performed well as a governor but he must learn to make little concessions as a politician or he should remain in the private sector.
you don't get my point obviously, the whole " serial betrayal" thing is just some bullshit that has been spread and folks like you just echo it without even analysing it yourselves, tell me how did he betray shaibu? By your understanding of politics was it shaibu's turn to become governor? When it was obviously Edo central's turn, how did he betray oshiomhole also, oshiomhole wanted to give him the ambode treatment if you were in his position would you not fight, even after he decamped to the pdp he still reached out to oshiomhole several times, he invited him for events even awarded him, he never maligned oshiomhole in public or fight him the way some do by destroying their houses, who else did he betray, you all misunderstand obaseki's personality, obudu oshiomhole's deputy had intentions then of succeeding oshiomhole, but oshiomhole opposed him, why is oshiomhole not called a betrayer? A man must have its own conviction, and betrayer for me, I based on principles, imagine wike saying obaseki betrayed him, if you ask the idiot how, you will see it was because obaseki did not join him his aso ebi G 5 or whatever, did obaseki betray the pdp? No. So if obaseki had joined wike in his madness, I guess you would not call him a betrayer then, but if he had done that he would have betrayed the pdp, in that case who should he be loyal to? Is it not right that he was loyal to the pdp rather than wike? Yet you all still call him betrayer? The only thing you hate is for people you have helped to even have a opinion or say in anything, for people like you you believe that once you have received any help, that individual owns you, your thoughts, your actions your opinion and everything isn't that slavery and foolishness.

and the people he fought has anyone come out to tell you why he fought them, it's pathetic when I see grown men repeating these lines, it appears to me like you guys can't reason for yourselves, aside the disagreement with the palace, one thing you can't please everyone especially when you are in power, when he fought oshiomhole, if obaseki was wrong why didn't oshiomhole come out and tell Edo people how he was betrayed, why hasn't any of them done the same.

4. David Umahi (Ebonyi)- Minister of Works

11. DR. Ada Mary Ogbe- PS Solid minerals and Steel development
12. DR. Akujobo Chinyere Ijeoma- PS Livestock development

Not senseless talk. Jonathan appointed more igbos and Niger Delta people in his government. His appointment was lopsided that his government was nicknamed Niger Delta republic of Nigeria. What you people are confusing is the more projects he did for the North while leaving his own region with no single project. These are not the same things. He sidelined the people of SW and the igbos were even boastful of that act, telling the yorubas to go and take appointment from Tinubu whom they were following despite SW overwhelming votes for Jonathan first election. So please if you don't know anything, pls get out and don't come and rewrite history here.
this is the lie that the yoruba Ronu crew keep dishing out in other to justify the tribalism of tinubu's govt and that of the APC, as I recall akinwumi adesina was a minister, Lola ade Johnson ( I hope I am correct) was also a minister just like Ngozi okonjo iweala, you guys have absolutely no prove to justify this lie you keep dishing out, even worse goodluck Jonathan is not an igbo man, but you guys still try desperately to put what ever actions he did on the igbos, aside the ministry of finance and that of the chief of army staff which ihejirika held for a while tell me any other top post held by the igbos in Jonathan govt that can be compared to the tribalism of tinubu's govt where the minister of finance, cbn gov, coas, immigration, firs, custom, justice, police, efcc, e.t.c are all held by yoruba folks.

Whenever you hear stuff like this, pls fact check it as most of it is republican propaganda. Take whatever they say with a pinch of salt.

One Easter. One Easter coincided with trans visibility day and the Republicans ran with the fake news that Biden has declared Easter trans day. Since then, haven’t we been celebrating Easter?

We have no public bathroom fiascos here. It’s all made up. Gender neutral bathrooms exist for everyone including families with babies. it doesn’t mean men and women are standing naked in the presence of each other in the name of genderlessness. You pick a stall, lock the door, use it and go your way.

Even in female bathrooms, we’re not standing around naked staring at each other. People who don’t want gender neutral toilets always have male/female bathrooms to choose from. This is absolutely a non-issue. Sometimes dads with little girls have no option but to take their kids to men’s bathrooms. Hence gender neutral toilets come in handy.

I understand the typical Nigerian is ultra conservative so when we hear stuff like this, it triggers a response in them that doesn’t allow one to actually check if it’s true or not. That’s why you hear a lot of people disliking dems without even knowing what’s true and what’s not.

Always use Reuters fact checkers or AP (the gold standard) of reporting to check anything you hear.
When you say both parties play politics. Agree . Yet democrats “playing politics” at worst will lead to more diversity and inclusion.

Republicans playing politics will lead to fascism, theocracy and authoritarianism. It’s not the same at all.

I know that it was just coincidence with the Easter thing but, still certain folks felt like an Easter message should have been top priority , I don't have nothing against gay people, I just believe that the divide in America is caused by it's political class same way Nigeria divides it's citizens with ethnicity and religion, I remember when covid hit, Trump's first reaction then was to ban all flight from china, and the first reaction then from the democrats was to criticize the move from a racial perspective by claiming racism against asians, a few weeks Afters America recorded massive deaths from covid, and that was one of the reasons why he lost his return bid, now during the presidential election there were polling survey that had suggested that more black mostly male supporters are supporting Trump, then I saw the reactions of some democrats, rapheal Warnock was like "black men aren't confuse" Obama was like " black men need to stop complaining" Michelle was like " black men need to take the lives of women seriously" and in all this reactions I doubt if anybody really paid attention to why Trump was gaining ground among black communities, some Americans had said they had more money under Trump's tenure than under biden's, if they had paid attention to why these ground were shifting they would now be where they are today, even among Latino communities which are the most antagonised as regard illegal migration, Trump still got an increased vote from them, I feel Trump's victory is a sign that America is saying something and the democrats aren't listening enough, you can say his victory was due to sexism, but one thing to note if every woman had voted for Kamala she would have won, you can say Trump's victory is due to racism but if every immigrants or almost all had voted against him he wouldn't be president- elect, I just feel the democrats need to realign the way it relates with americans and listen more, people are more than just race, gender.

America’s far left is comparable to centrist or at most center left in other developed nations.
The things the right wing complain about as extreme left is already existing in other developed countries and we’re just lagging behind.
I slightly disagree on this, america's left, I won't describe as centrist left I saw something sometime back when Biden declared Easter Sunday as an lgbtq day or something, can't recall the details, then you have the x passport where those who identify as genderless, then you have the decree or ruling where trans men and women gets to share a bathroom, or prison cell with imnates, I saw something in the news when a trans female impregnated several female inmate she was serving sentence with, then there was a push for trans female athlete comepeting in female sports, and another reason why I won't describe the democrats as moderate left is the way it reacts to issues relating to race, gender and sexuality, I get it that both party use it for political benefits, most nations have had it's fear of far right candidate, Italy is currently being led by a right wing candidate, France had one in the last election, even the UK had a conservative govt just recently one thing you would notice about these nations is the same anti immigration, nationalism drive, but you won't see the leftist opposition demonizing these moves so fervently the way the democrats do.

I’m glad you’re not coming at it from a know it all position so I’m happy to share some information and facts with you

Many republican states do not support abortion even at the risk to a woman’s life, incest or teenage children raped by grown men. And to make matters worse they’re proposing bills to ban access to contraceptives which everyone should be pushing for if we want to prevent pregnancies/abortions.

Biden’s administration receives a lot of flack on immigration because they’re pursuing more humane ways of dealing with it rather than locking up people in cages and some of the inhumane practices of Trump’s administration.

Good point on the immigrant votes and Democratic Party. A perfect case of people climbing up and pulling the ladder so others can’t get up. Time will tell.

that's why in my personal conversations among my everyday offline folks I will always say the left wing are too far left and the right wing politicians are too far right, a middle ground, is all America needs, a ban on access to contraceptive is insensitive, and I never even knew such was in existence.

It dominates the political conversations because that what you guys and republicans talk about.

Y’all been told a million times what the democrat agenda is. There are websites to read up on it. Her economic plans that were praised by Nobel laureates as the best they’ve seen in a while.
Her plan for healthcare and capping prescription drug prices. Plans for new home buyers. Plans to cut corporate price gouging that’s helping the inflation. So many things to talk about and they do talk about it but once yall hear someone mention gay people, your reasoning flies out the window.

Democrats do not dominate political conversation with talk about gay people’s rights. Republicans bring it up every time to distract you people from the fact that they don’t have plans. They never do. In every election they’re always looking out for the billionaires. They know that if you’re distracted, you won’t notice that you’re being scammed. So they’ll bring this ish up each and every time and y’all fall for it like cats distracted by a red dot.

LGBTQ people’s issues isn’t even in the priority of America’s problems at all. You’ll never meet anyone in real life worried about this. Because it’s mostly a non issue.

Now that Trump won, nothing is going to happen about them. They’ll exist just like they have always existed.
No kids were being forcefully transitioned in schools like he blatantly claimed. There’s nothing that is going to change about that. But he’ll tell you he’s solved the problem now that he’s president elect. And you’ll believe it.

The only thing that’ll change is that Elon (the crass unbeliever), Thiel (the gay godfather)and the other billionaires who just bought themselves a presidency will have more control and power than they ever had. The chances that we ever get our country back from them will be slim to none

It breaks my heart to see seemly smart people get bamboozled so cheaply and so publicly with their faith and beliefs. It’s like the Truman Show.
ok I am not an American so my opinion and understanding of things might be limited, I am not much of a fan of the republican party either, but the defeat of Kamala harris is not surprising to me, she is obviously more refined than Trump in terms of attitude and class, but the democrats/ Biden have not done well for the economy, immigration is an issue, yes Trump may exaggerate the problem or be racist about it, but it doesn't deny the fact that illegal migration is a big threat not just to america, another issue is the abortion right, yes we agree with the my body, my choice movement as it regards to rape, incest or health grounds but you can't expect everyone to just support the indiscriminate killing of the unborn, I like the democrats for giving a platform for minorities and immigrants community to lead and grow but that's just it, another thing worthy of note is the fact that nations that have the most immigrants population in the US come from conservative nations, like India, China, Nigeria, so in the long run I am looking at the future of the democratic party and if they can continue to get the votes of immigrants from these communities whose values and that of their home countries are a sharp contrast to that of the democrats.
