SportsNFF Cuts Eagles Bonus, Coaches Salaries by sheedy407(op): 5:06pm On Apr 09, 2013
The Nigeria Football Federation has taken a very significant step to curtail overhead cost in the administration of football in the country. The Technical and Development Committee of the federation, which met in Abuja on Tuesday, recommended for immediate implementation, a list of decisions that would substantively cut down the cost of prosecuting games involving the national teams.

One of the major decisions is the review of the salaries of all the national team coaches, including that of Super Eagles coach, Stephen Keshi. Even though he has a contract still running, The PUNCH learnt that every coach in the employment of the federation would be affected as soon as the implementation begins.

The General Secretary of the NFF, Mr. Musa Amadu, told our correspondent on Tuesday that the federation was simply facing the reality on ground.

He said, “If you take just a simple look at the period around June and the cost implication for the country, for instance, you will understand that the measures being taken have become very necessary. We cannot continue like this; there has to be sensible auditing.”

The NFF added that based on the poor financial situation, the committee has also recommended the staff auditing of the technical crew and backroom staff of all the national teams. This move will see the national team coaches being cut down to maximum of two assistants and a goalkeeper trainer. The Eagles have three assistant coaches plus a goalkeeper trainer. The other backroom staffers are to be cut down too.

The players themselves were not spared in the latest decision. Their win bonus, which was raised to $10,000 some years ago has been cut down to $5,000. The bonus became an issue after the Africa Cup of Nations in South Africa as the NFF could not pay the final game bonus after it was nearly doubled from the pre-tournament rate.

“The Committee regrets the financial situation that has also necessitated the pegging of bonuses, review of allowances and salaries of coaches of the national teams,” the committee communiqué read.

The committee also considered the employment of coaches for positions of Technical Director of the NFF and the coaching staff of the U-23 national team but no names were listed.

The committee also deliberated on the war of words between Keshi and his players and assured that peace would reign before the country embarks on the series of matches for the 2014 FIFA World Cup qualifiers, as well as the 2013 FIFA Confederations Cup

Christianity EtcIncredible! General Overseer Arrested For Armed Robbery by sheedy407(op): 9:54pm On Apr 07, 2013
We live in strange times, so we must not be too discouraged when things like this one occur. Rather, they should make us stronger and learn to carry ourselves in such a way that we wont be deceived by man.

Below is the story of a General Overseer who's working with armed robbers:

The Pastor and the General Overseer of The Way of Joy Church, Ibikunle Olanrewaju John, was one of the seven suspects paraded on Tuesday by the Commissioner of Police, Lagos State Command, Umaru Manko, over the March 13, 2013 robbery attack at the Muritala Mohammed International Airport, MMIA, in which two policemen were killed.

The same gang of armed robbers was responsible for the February 10, 2012 attack at the airport where about N600 million was carted away. Pastor Ibikunle was paraded alongside six others - Atoba Adeniyi, Ibrahim Abdullahi, Kazeem Aderibigbe, Saheed Adekunle, Christian Joshua and Saheed Okunlo.

gathered that the Pastor normally provides spiritual sacrifices for the robbers and help in keeping their weapons, ammunition and also drive their vehicles. He was also alleged to have driven the suspects to MMIA during their last operation.

Briefing journalists on how the suspects were apprehended, the commissioner of police said following the attack in which two police officers were killed and several innocent others were injured, police officers attached to the special anti-robbery squad swung into action by following up on a document obtained from one of the robbers, Teslim Okunola, who was shot dead by the deceased police officers.

The CP added that, “But before he was killed, one of the policemen fought gallantly, killing one of the robbers. He also made sure that other members of the robbery gang were not able to take his corpse away. It was that corpse that led to the arrest of the gang."

While answering questions from journalists, Pastor Ibikunle confessed to knowing that they were armed robbers. He also said he normally prepare the suspects for oath taking. He said he was given N500,000 for his effort in the MMIA robbery.

Hear him: “Yes. I am the one that administered an oath on them the day they went to work. I waited for them in the bush until they came back. In the bush located in Ijebu-Ode, there is a hut where one can even sleep if one wishes. But no one person can come there, except he is a member of the gang.

Asked to describe how the oath was administered, he replied: “You won’t understand because it is a spiritual thing, as incantation was said into a horn.”

Also asked if he owned a church of his own, he replied: “Yes. I am the general overseer. It started as a Spiritual Healing Church where God used me to heal people with diverse strange illnesses.”

Also asked why he ventured into heinous crime, if he was a genuine man of God, he shook his head in regret and said, “ I was introduced into it by Asiwaju. I did not know he was a robber then. But when I did, I tried to withdraw from him. But it was too late. He introduced me to other members of his gang.”

Jokes EtcSee What My Uncle Wife Did To My Uncle For Chatting With A Neigbour [pics] by sheedy407(op): 9:35pm On Apr 07, 2013
Mods, pardon me,don't kno where to post this.

My elder brother whom i have been living with and who is my sole provider got married to another woman around six months ago after his first wife past away living him with a three years old son.

At first the new woman was the ideal wife bringing back the once gone happiness in the house, playing the loving and caring wife and a stepmother to my brother's son.

The first four months were perfect until she got what I think she wanted [A church wedding].

One month after the wedding was fine but after that she turned to a kung fu warrior and a beast.

She started maltreating my nephew and whenever I intervened she would tell my brother that i was being disrespectful and she started turning my brother against me.

Things turned crazier and she would sometimes beat me up but I never told my brother in fear of being thrown out of the house. I later started seeing marks on brothers face and frm there i knew that we were in danger and it was like my brother was bewitched. He never would listen to any negative talk about his wife.

I remember one day he came late and after beating him up she locked him out for the whole night.

I tried to talk to my brother but he wouldn't talk about it, he even threatened to throw me out of the house if i continued interfering in his family Issues.

I chose to shut up.

Now she did it again and this time its much worse. She found him chatting with a lady neighbour and she stabbed him while he was asleep and pulled out his intestines.

Now my brother is fighting for his life in a hospital and and am fearing we might loose him.

Please guys help me pray for my brother, Can't bear to loose him cos he is all i have and no where to go.

If I May ask, Please if you're in my Shoe, What will you do?

Crime28 Year Old Vegetable Seller Gang Raped In Lagos [pics] by sheedy407(op): 9:17pm On Apr 07, 2013
Not sure of where to post this, mods, pardon me.

Evelyn was a vegetable seller...On one of her numerous trips in search of her livelihood, she was manhandled and molested by five hoodlums in the presence of her friends. How did it happen? National Mirror explains below:

A five-man gang of robbers forcefully had canal knowledge of a vegetable seller simply identified as Evelyn. She was allegedly sexually assaulted in the presence of her two colleagues. Evelyn, a resident of Ojo area of Lagos State was at the back of a church along railways line, in Oyingbo area. It is the practice of those in that trade to pass the night at an open space in the area, while waiting for the trucks that convey the commodity from other states in the country. The purpose was to get the freshest of vegetables to sell the following day.

Evelyn, 28, who had reportedly been in the trade in the last five years, usually joins her colleague in the vigil waiting for the trucks.

In the early hours of Tuesday, April 2, 2013, Evelyn, as usual was among the horde of traders waiting for the truck bringing vegetable into the market. That day, the truck delayed a bit. Around 12:30a.m, Evelyn told two of her colleagues that she wanted to have a stroll down the sparsely busied street, hoping to have something to eat. The two friends reportedly joined her. The three traders trekked some five minutes down the railway line and they came to the kiosk where fried breads and eggs are sold. The kiosk was owned and manned by a Hausa trader.

The three women therefore settled down at the grocer’s kiosk and ordered for food to be taken back to their temporary abode. While the grocer was busy frying the eggs, the suspected robbers/rapists stormed the kiosk, launched an attack on the man.

The bread seller was reportedly beaten to a stupor by two of the robbers while the three of them swooped on the three women. While two of the women managed to wriggle out from the claws of the suspected robbers, Evelyn was not as lucky for she was reportedly haggling with the grocer over the price of meal in the innermost part of the shop when the hoodlums struck.

It was reported that the five men dragged Evelyn out of the shop and whisked her to a corner close by and where they took turn to rape her while the bread seller wriggled in pain on the floor of his kiosk. In the end, the grocer was reportedly robbed of a lot of cash and mobile telephone sets.

The two women also lost their GSM handsets while Evelyn also reportedly lost some money to the robbers. But rescue came the way of the molested woman when her two friends who raced out of the place ran to Denton Police Station to lodge a complaint of what had just happened.

The noise of the two women and Evelyn herself probably drew the attention of men of the vigilance group patrolling the area to the scene of the rape. The vigilance group reportedly swooped on the robbers cum rapists and engaged them in a fight.
Four members of the gang were later identified to be Saidi, Jamiu, Kashimawo and Atoba. In the end, Evelyn was rescued while three of the rapists were apprehended and handed over to the police at Iponri Police Division.

Evelyn managed to narrate her ordeal in the hands of the rapists thus:

I have never experienced this in my life. Two of my colleagues and I, while waiting for the truck to bring the vegetable were hungry and decided to take a walk down the railway line, knowing it is always a beehive of activities at that time of the day.

While we were there waiting for the Mallam to fry the egg, we just saw these men walked in and we thought they also wanted to buy something. The next thing we saw was that they started beating the Mallam while some of them dashed towards me and grabbed me.

My other colleagues were lucky to flee the scene but because I was negotiating with the Mallam right inside the kiosk, I was not so lucky. That was how the men dragged me with them and carried me to one corner and molested me.

Speaking on the development, Agbodemu Ishola Musbau, a community leader and head of the vigilance group that apprehended the rapists, claimed that the rapists/robbers were members of the notorious gang that has been terrorising the community in the past couple of weeks.

National Mirror could not get the comment of the Denton Police Station as its Divisional Police Officer was said to be away while none of his subordinates was ready to speak with the press.

Sports"I Am Criticised Because I Amnot Hausa, Yoruba Or Igbo" —vincent Enyeama by sheedy407(op): 10:25pm On Apr 06, 2013
The former Enyimba keeper came under the spotlight severally in 2012 after making a series of costly errors in high profile matches for the national team and he believes his critics have been vocal because he is
not from one of the three major tribes in Nigeria.

The 30-year old Super Eagles safe hands is from Akwa Ibom state, South-South Nigeria.

“My critics will remain as long I am still with the national team. I am criticised because I am not Hausa, Yoruba or Igbo but I am not worried,” Enyeama said in a recent interview.

The Maccabi Tel Aviv shot- stopper however holds no grudge against those who have slammed him in the past insisting that “Critics make the game sweet so why should I be angry?

When they criticise me, they only make me stronger so I give them thanks.

“I also thank God for giving me strength,” he concluded.
