yettidear: Hello everyone, I have a sister that is planning to have her child in US by next year Feb. She is looking at Florida. Please can you direct me to anyone that has experience in having a baby in Florida. which hospitals can she go to? Or is there a link to good and reasonable hospitals?
she is looking at Orlando, FL. Also can anyone please answer the following questions;

1. I know she is applying for a medical visa but does she need a doctor's referral letter from her doc in Nigeria to show at the embassy?
2. What general documents does she need to take with her to the Embassy for her visa?
3. Her husband will be flying in a few days before the due date, can he also go with her to get his B-1 visa at the embassy?
4. Does it matter that she was denied a US student visa for her Master's degree earlier this year? She and her husband have travelled to different countries and had never overstayed.

I have tried to get the answers to the questions by going through the pages in the thread, but you will all agree that it would take a whole month to go through all the over 150 pages. And also, everyone's case is unique that was why I said I was going to ask instead of guessing.

Normally the physicians would like her to arrive 2 months before the expected delivery date. At that time you would bring all the records from her physician. Please be sure they are translated to English.

The estimated cash pkg. is $21,310.00 in USD for a vaginal delivery and hospital stay. A cesarean section if needed is $29,600.00 in USD. The Obstetrician’s fee is usually around $5000.00 and the pediatrician’s fees usually $650.00. Please keep in mind these are ESTIMATES.

Please house your assistance is urgently required. I am presently pregnant and I intend renewing my US (B1/B2) visa via dropbox so that I can give birth in the US. My visa will be expiring at the end of January 2015 and I intended travelling by the beginning of January and staying till end of March. I want to know what to write as the reason for travelling. A lot of people have suggested that I write "going on vacation" since I might not be called for an interview but following this topic on nairaland has enlightened me on the dangers of that. Please what do you suggest I write as the reason for travelling. Can writing travelling for Childbirth while applying for a B1/B2 visa deprive me from getting the visa?

nefertitiram: This country shaaaa, 6 months! 7 months, these babies r a piece of cake for most US hospitals. I just found out that my babies were born alive. Then the hosp says they weren't breathing so well, like seriously? I believe the hosp did not make enough efforts, but I won't regret. I heard NICU stay in a specialist hosp is about 25k to 35k per day per child, and they will spend a minimum of 1 month in incubator.
God must have seen my pocket and decided to avert this suffering from my family.
My joy is that my husband and I able to mourn together and rise out of the embers like the Phoenix (hehehe, I was on my way to MIHS in Phoenix, bags packed, checked in online when the trauma began) but the Phoenix is indestructible and always rises from the ashes.
I seem to have even moved on faster than hubby, perhaps because he had to be the one to bury them at the cemetery, and they were his carbon copies, and even in death, the had the expression he has on his face when he is fast asleep.
What doesn't kill you makes you a stronger person, and you can only get strength when you draw inspiration from the Most High.
His thoughts towards us are thoughts of good and not of evil, to give you an expected end. He also promised he won't give us troubles more than we can bear, even in that, he will give us a means of escape.
God knows having sick children would have broken me more than having dead children. I can always start again, and I am a live to tell the tale. I saw my life passing, after losing 4 pints of blood in 2 hours. I have never seen doctors panic so in my life because the bleeding seemed unending.
That cesarean section saved my life, the babies died for their mother to live again, and they have become saints in heaven for paying the ultimate sacrifice.
Please say a special prayer for Eathan and Nathan for there were special, they fulfilled what their purpose on earth. They never knew pain and they will never grow old.
Tears won't bring them back, 10 more children may never replace them, but the flame of their memory will keep burning in my heart.

Pls mamas, I need to buy maternity dresses ASAP. This my baby has refused I wear anything clingy or tight. Jeans, trousers n leggings na no go area, feel so frustrated on them. Phema: ^^^^Go through the Dropbox process. If they need you to come in for an interview, they will reach you. Renewal of your visa goes beyond whether or not you paid your bills. They will want to know if you intentionally lied about your pregnancy the last time you were granted visa. So, be ready to prove beyond reasonable doubt that you were oblivious of your pregnancy. You might be lucky to get your visa renewed via Dropbox without the VO even noticing you birthed in the US.

shelly23: Please has anyone renewed their visa through drop box and stated they were going to have a baby? I'm eligible for drop box, but I need to be sure i can state that I want to have my baby and include the relevant documents without jeopardizing my chances.

The other option would be to go to the embassy in person, but by then, I'll be almost 7 months pregnant, not sure I want to do that.
